  1. Okay, let’s just forget about Edelgard, Three Houses and Fire Emblem for a moment. What you said just now? It’s not healthy. It doesn’t matter how remorseful a person is, it doesn’t if they have good intentions, there are some things you just can’t forgive. Forgiveness is a beautiful thing but also incredibly stupid. If remorse and good intentions were enough to forgive someone for a crime, society would be in chaos. If a person commits a serious crime, they cannot be forgiven. Period. People have to pay for their crimes.
  2. Even if Rhea is the one that preached that the crests were gifts of the goddess, the moment she learns that the Agarthans are using that against her and Sothis she would rethink her entire plan. And just as Rhea believes the humans can’t rule themselves, the Agarthans also believes that the primitive humans of Fodlan can’t rule themselves. There’s no difference. Just as Rhea used politics to hide secrets and eliminate enemies of the church, so did the Agarthans use politcs to eliminate their enemies and hide their secrets. Just as Rhea doesn’t try peaceful negotiations with her enemies and kills them without question so does the Agarthans. The beliefs of both Rhea and the Agarthans doesn’t align with Edelgard’s ideals where humans can rule on their own. Rhea and the Agarthans are the same. So Edelgard had as much of a chance to ally with the Agarthans as she had with Rhea. And yes, you could not fight a war with evil nation, but that would result in death just as fighting a war would. So in that case, war is the only option.
  3. Who said there’s no chance of success? As the ending of Crimson Flower shows, she can fight and eliminate the Agarthans. And Rhea? The moment Rhea realizes the Agarthans are threat. That they have been taking advantage of the crest and nobility system of Fodlan and of its medieval stasis to get revenge on her and Sothis she might actually listen! Edelgard used the “we have the same enemy, let’s join forces.” with the Agarthans. Who can’t say it can’t work with the church of Seiros? Just as Rhea is merciless with those that oppose the church so are the Agarthans with their enemies. But in the case of the evil nation, you already implying that war is the only option. By calling them evil, one has to assume there’s no peaceful option because something that is evil by nature will deny a peaceful option. The evil nation harms others for the sake of harming others.
  4. She can change things from the inside. Just like the Agarthans acted from the shadows, so can she. She gathered a large group of followers. She can win just as she can lose. She could try to approach Dimitri and Claude as ally with them. Yes, there a good choice that it might fail and that they’re not trustworthy, it’s a gamble. But starting a war is also a gamble. She has the same chance of convincing Dimitri and Claude as she has of winning a war against the Church, the Kingdom, the Alliance and the Agarthans. So why not pick the least bloody gamble?
  5. And what are the chances of the war be the best choice? Both options have equal chances. The Agarthans have super weapons and control armies in the shadows and Rhea had the entire knights of Seiros. What makes you so sure that the path of war had better chances of success than a peaceful path? And who says the the peaceful pretends there isn’t suffering? You can choose a peaceful path and acknowledge the suffering! You’re also causing innocents to die by starting the war. Is starting a war really something to be proud of when the peaceful path was an option?
  6. But why not pick the peaceful if it also has a chance of success? You’re acting as the peaceful is cowardly. She can do something in a peaceful way. As you said it’s hypocritical. Peace obtained through war is also peace built on suffering so what makes a method better than the other?
  7. The problem is that you’re acting as if the war would guarantee that she would be successful. It’s doesn’t. She could have failed miserably and make things even worse for Fodlan. She chose war which had the equal chance of success and failure as trying to avoid war.
  8. That conversation with the villagers in Radiant Dawn and the conversation in Path of Radiance with Ike, Jill and a villager from Daein is exactly what I wanted in Three Houses. Show how the common people, the ones Edelgard claim she’s fighting for feel about it! And Edelgard’s war might not seem bloody at first but remember that war are the perfect time for pillaging. With the army busy preparing for war or having to be ready for battle at anytime, it’s the perfect time for bandits to attack villages. You’re missing my point. It doesn’t matter that she the consequences of her actions, it doesn’t that she got rid in the agarthans in the end. What matter that lives were lost in the first place. Edelgard had two options, a war that would guarantee death and destruction or the slow change from the inside which could cause as much death and destruction as the war or much less death and destruction. Both options had equal opportunities of success and failure. Can you really she truly dedicated her life to improve the lives of the people of Fodlan when she picked the path that guaranteed death and destruction instead of the path that had the possibility of having less death and destruction?
  9. No, not it really isn’t about equity. By starting a war and forcing those ideals in the nations she attacked and conquered it stops being equity. She did not give everyone what they needed to be successful. By starting a war, she robbed people of their lives, their livelihoods, resources, lands, homes and so much more. And now from a land broken by war she promises equity? When she was the one that caused so much damaged and inequality? By forcing what she believes to be equity in other nations that were only defending themselves, she’s not giving everyone what they need to be successful. She caused even more inequality. Because after the war people will have even less opportunities, because the people lost so much. Her equity came from denying equity to others.
  10. I’m not saying Edelgard’s system is wholly bad. It has lots of good points, but not that different than before. My problem is that Edelgard justifies her war and all the death she caused for a society that can be just as problematic as the one before. So in the end, was it worth it? Was it worth all that the lives lost? Does it justify a war over a trying to change to change the system from inside?
  11. But a capable ruler would have to ensure people are happy with the lives they lead. However in Edelgard’s rule that might not happen. Her system favors those who are skilled and by honing that skill they will be valued and will be able live a successful life. But just because a person is skilled in something doesn’t mean they necessarily like it. But under Edelgard’s rule that person would have to do the thing they are skilled with but don’t like it in order to be successful. Another problem is that say a normal person and a physically capable person wants to have the same position at a job that requires physical strength. They both work hard, the exact same amount in fact but who would be picked for the job under Edelgard’s rule? The person who was born more physically capable. You say Edelgard’s rule promises equality and equal opportunities, but it really doesn’t. In order for Edelgard’s system to be truly successful everyone would have to been born the same, with the same physical and intelectual capabilities in order for people to have equal opportunities. However a world like that sounds even more dystopian that Fodlan’s crest and nobility society.
  12. Personally I always thought that the Crimson Flower should have been a more evil route. It would have been brilliant if they showed the commoners that suffered because of the war Edelgard started. Because of her, many, many commoners lost their father, brother, son, sister, mother, daughter and so on. Do you honestly think those people who lost so much in the war would welcome Edelgard’s rule with open arms? That they would see her as a savior? You say she’s acting in the interest of commoners, but did she really consider them? The huge losses that commoners would receive? Imagine how many people lost their businesses and livelihoods because of the war. Would the commoners of the Kingdom and the Alliance would see Edelgard as their savior? And Edelgard’s meritocracy is no different than the crest and nobility system. Fodlan’s nobility and crest system favor those that are born nobles or with crests while the commoners are in unfavorable situations. But Edelgard’s new system favors those who were born more physically capable, those born more intellectually capable and those born with special skills and aptitudes. What place would a completely normal person have under Edelgard’s rule? What place would a person who was born sickly have under Edelgard’s rule? What place would a person who suffered a great injury or lost a limb have under Edelgard’s rule? Edelgard is replacing one dystopian unfair society for another.
  13. Gramps is back on JP and he got a skill strengthening! Battle Continuation EX —> Abyss of Death EX -Self guts for 1 time, 5 turn -Grant self Abyss of Death status, 30% Buster performance, 5 turns (max) -When revive through guts, Abyss of Death status remove, gain 20NP and 50% Buster performance, 1 turn (fixed) That’s a pretty interesting skill and a potential 5 turn Buster buff could be insane especially with Gramps’s Buster deck. It looks great for solos.
  14. Are Sumo and Golden Carp suitable for longer fights? Even though he’s a primarily a damage dealer, Saberlot being an Arts Saber means he would fit well in Arts stall team(even though he has no defensive skills) so I can him working in a long fight with Tamamo and Jeanne. Or is he better with Crit Arts supports like CasGil or Sherlock?
  15. You guys mind giving me some advice? I was rolling for Arjuna and while I didn’t get, I managed to get Saberlot. While I already know how good he is, I’ve been wondering what is the best CE for him. The first one that comes to mind is Another Ending but is the any others that work well with him?
  16. My line of thought was more that since he has Buff Removal resistance, that means you can’t use skills and NPs that remove buffs against him, which would make you have to rely on ignore invincible to deal damage to him. But thinking more about it the buff removal resistance isn’t really that much of an issue.
  17. Do you mean Odysseus as a boss? With his NP removing defensive buff, being literally immune to charm beating even KH at that and a taunt that targets both of his teammates he’s going to be a nightmare. Does anyone else get the feeling he’s going to be a boss in the next Gilfest?
  18. Again how did you expect Rhea to parley with someone who just invade the Holy Tomb, desecrated graves and ordered their soldiers to steal from those graves? And remember that Dimitri and Claude had a lot to lose by not joining the war. You can’t say Edelgard started the war but had no intentions of attacking the Kingdom, the Alliance or the Church, otherwise why the hell she started a war when she had no intentions to fight anyone? That’s contradictory. Plus she did try to have Dimitri and Claude killed in the prologue. And don’t bring up the idea that she wanted to scare the previous teacher to replace him with Jeritza because the game never mentions him being intended to lead a house. And Edelgard only gave Rhea a choice after she backed Rhea into a corner, she didn’t give a choice when attacking the monastery just before the timeskip. And if Edelgard didn’t want a war why didn’t she talk to them? And before you say is because she couldn’t trust them then why you do you expect Dimitri, Claude and Rhea to parley with Edelgard after her actions as the Flame Emperor? They had no reason to believe her manifesto.
  19. Let me get this straight, did you seriously expect Rhea to negotiate peacefully with Edelgard after she invaded the Holy Tomb, desecrated graves and lied in speech about how the church divided the continent? And of course the church didn’t help the Kingdom didn’t help in tue Crescent Moon war, as it was a rebellion inside the Kingdom, but on the other case, Dimitri chose the help a long time ally. And if you say Claude is smart enough to realize Edelgard’s true intentions are you saying Edelgard isn’t smart enough to realize Claude’s intentions? She had the slitheres and Hubert on her side, so she could have him investigated. Did you simply expect Dimitri, Claude and Rhea to just let Edelgard be?
  20. Tell me how do you except Rhea to negotiate with someone who invaded a sacred place with an army and their soldiers to rob and desecrate the graves there? How did you expect Dimitri to remain neutral when a long time ally was being attacked by an another country? How did you expect Claude to let other Alliance lords ally with Empire when those same lords wanted to take the Alliance from him? How did you expect Claude to ally with Edelgard when she gave him no reason to? The same way she didn’t join him when he asked her to. The war was that forced them to make those choices. And who the hell forced those choices to be extreme in the first place?
  21. Everyone had their own choice? Really? Who started the war in the first place? Dimitri, Claude and Rhea didn’t make that choice because they wanted to, they were forced to chose that. Edelgard did not give the chance for them chose not to fight. She gave the choice to either fight or surrender.
  22. True, I feel like they should have been 1RP each. It would sorta like exchanging one Gold Servant for another. Although they might be planning to give more free RP, the Eresh download campaign for example has one free RP.
  23. They just announced that now there will be “main interlude” where you can play previous events that already had reruns! They first one they are doing is Eresh Christmas, giving another chance at Santa Altera. I’m starting think this might be the reason for no Santa Quetz rerun. And apparently if you miss copies of a welfare in a event you can buy them later for 2RP.
  24. Even so, unless it is for 3 turn farming or specific set ups in Challenge Quests CEs barely matter. A character with perform mostly the same whenever they have a CE equipped or not.
