I agree with you about the women. There aren't many standout female characters in this game, unfortunately... And IMO Marx deserves the spot. He, along with Takumi, had the most character development of the royals.

You expressed my thoughts much better than I did in my post, thank you. Also, great point--the issues that affect Kamui and Robin affect FE's traditional protagonists as well, though in my opinion not to the same extent.

I think she's popular! At least on the sub and in SF. Her fans aren't as vocal as others, but I've only ever seen positive opinions about Charlotte (putting comments about her design aside).

I really need Marx, Takumi and Ryouma ones. But since I only have one vote, give me Marx or give me death.

I don't take any issue with a playable, customizable MU. But an "avatar" character, a stand-in for the player? Unless we're talking Mark from FE7, too much fan service for me. Also, I don't like the nasty effect an Avatar has on the fan community. The shipping wars and character-hating was/is pretty intense among Fates players, speaking as someone who participated in both...

I don't hate the Hoshido characters, but their lack of complexity (except for Takumi) is disappointing. Ryoma, the samurai, is most notable for being...samurai-like. Hinoka, the pegasus warrior, well we all know her for...being a pegasus warrior. Sakura is adorable but she never becomes relevant the same way Elise did. Takumi is good. I don't know much about him but it seems like there is something there. On top of all of this, Hoshido seems pretty goody-goody and "woe is us" all the time. Translation: boring. Edit: BIG SPOILER

Wait...what? She wears full armor on her torso but then a thong and ass vent? That's confusing.

Seriously. He may just be my favorite of the Hoshido siblings.

Uh, that's art style. The beach DLC snap has been moefied to diminish masculinity--look at the jaw and lack of nipples. Moe style doesn't emphasize manhood. Marx and Frederick are both paladins and they share a sense of duty. That's about where the similarities end.
