  1. I actually am DM for my own version of Fire Emblem Dungeons and Dragons. =3 My players seem to be happy with the rules I set up. While they are far from perfect, it seems to give a cool experience of the good points of both Fire Emblem and Dungeons and Dragons. I do make sure to respect the D&D part, as in the players make the story. I have a world set out with a story they can follow, but if they decide to kill the lord (the lord is a NPC that doesn't actually participate in fights) and join the villain, I would let them. (Which does require some improvising skills on my part.) If anyone is interested, let me know and I will think of a good way to put it online.
  2. A character needs to be lvl 10 to reclass, Maribelle joins lvl 5. I know, it's not a whole lot, but it still makes her worse than any other character in this game to me. ^^
  3. My playing style for 13 is playing the DLC map for experience until everyone has all the skills I like. Maribelle, being a healer and all, can't do this (yet I need her to give Brady Galeforce). For my playing style, I consider her the worst unit. (Lissa gets plenty exp before I have access to DLC). Hate my playing style all you want, my opinion doesn't change. =P
  4. 6: Fir 7: Erk 8: Lute 9: Nephenee 10: Mia 13: F!Morgan
  5. 6: Wendy 7: Wallace 8: Syrene 9: Bastian 10: Vika 11/12: Haven't played them enough, but it seems nearly everyone is horrible 13: Maribelle
  6. Ah, interesting maneuver. Though I would say the words were spoken when the magic weapon was enchanted. That would mean one wouldn't be be casting the spell during combat. I don't recall, can a magic weapon be used while silenced?
  7. I'm no expert, but about 20 cards solely for support purposes in a 50 card deck seems to work fine for me. Not just 30 support, but archers (20 support +fighter emblem) and mages (mage emblem) can help too.
  8. Mia, Fir, Ilyana I feel bad for not mentioning Lute and Nephenee, but they're too cool for cute (and yes, Meg is adorable, but I would never call her attractive...) Oh, and I would mention F!Morgan, but that would be weird.
  9. 1 Nephenee - I love the halberdier class, I love shy ladies, and how strong she is to have survived that prison while losing her pants... 2 Mia - Happy-go-lucky epic female swordmaster is what dreams are made of 3 Ilyana - Frail young girl, just want to protect her =3 4 Lethe - catlady, enough said 5 Jill - that backstory, and that willingness to admit mistakes and mend them 1 Ike - Everyone likes Ike, I even decided to cosplay him. Best lord ever (okay, Hector is a close second) 2 Ranulf - funny, nice, and very trustworthy, plus catdude 3 Soren - very rich backstory, and even though he is mean to pretty much everyone, for Ike he will still help them. 4 Zihark - cool sworddude with a mission to save laguz, that's just cool 5 Pelleas - his willingness to sacrifice himself for his country and the many mistakes he has made make me feel really bad for him
  10. Bring healers to lvl 20 and promote to make them useful. Bring characters you just recruited and plan to use to the level the rest of your team is at. After units cap a few stats, bexp and reset to get a good amount of stats still. ...Or just be like me and only use bexp to level, ever, to make sure every character caps all possible stats (don't do that, it breaks the game, I might have a problem =P ) Seriously though, if you're on easy or normal mode, you get plenty of bexp. Go nuts with it, or ignore it altogether. The game is easy enough on any difficulty without it...
  11. Path of Radiance: - sages with knives - most classes having terrible mastery skills for far too high costs (even though the animations are cool enough to use them anyways) - no promotion for Sothe, but Volke does get one? unfair - bonus experience, both a blessing and a curse - BK showing up out of nowhere - BK fight is too reliant on luck - Ashnard only damageable by certain units (though I agree, endgame bosses are very tough to make into a challenge while not unbeatable with bad luck) - some of the animations are late (Boyd), or just plain awkward (swordmasters) - no dark magic (and no real trinity) - OP paladins - OP Eather, Sol and Resolve - continuously having to pay Volke to do stuff... no wait, scrap that, that was actually funny - no control over laguz transformations - light and staves are one? whut? - nobody understands bands without looking them up - don't believe it says anywhere that removed skills disappear (confusing after playing RD first) - laguz stat caps being too high, can't cap a whole lot to bring to RD, no weapon ranks either - recruiting Stefan (even the slightest hint about him would have made this a cool super secret character, but the only way you can get him is by googling, and that's just lame) - the shop suddenly not having certain basic weapons in stock - can't very easily understand the cutscene voices (or is that just me, with English not being my first language?) - in the chapter Day breaks, not being able to position your units (do love the idea of the 4 maps in a row though) seriously, I love this game though, honestly.
  12. I actually liked the Ballistician class in Shadow Dragon, and the idea of Chameleon really intrigues me. And since Awakening is such a close second least favorite, it did have some skills I liked, like Ignis, Limitbreaker and the skills that give small buffs to allies.
  13. I used to be a LynxHector shipper, but then a friend showed me how much Sue looks like Lyn, and Lilina looks like Florina. I've been shipping FlorinaxHector and RathxLyn ever since.
  14. Here are some supports that really may add something Wow, I should play that game some day, just for that. It would make sense. The fact that books are natural materials from trees might mean the damage done to the magic user is done to the book instead (and yes, as the first quote above proves, books do break). having the actual spells written in them might just be a good idea so you don't have to remember them. Magic without staves or tomes might just be unheard of in Tellius because nobody would be stupid enough to cast magic while damaging themselves?
  15. Ah, good point about the casting without tomes. However I think the gameplay of tomes losing power should be seen as just gameplay. If tomes would not break in game, the game would be unbalanced. And Robin's tomes in smash (while I love that they did that) are basically just a reference to a gameplay element. Now if there was any reference in story or supports that tomes lose their power when used, that would change my opinion on this immediately. Also, i have not been able to play Fates yet (thanks NoE), but don't all weapons, including tomes, have unlimited uses there?
  16. (possible spoilers) - I believe it was established in Sacred Stones that anima magic comes from the spirits of nature, light magic comes from faith, and dark magic comes from knowledge and understanding. - The fact that a silence staff can stop one from using magic proves that a spell has the be spoken out loud to take effect. - Nino from Blazing Sword has said that she cannot read, yet she has memorized the spells in the books she heard her mother use. To me this tells the magic is at least mostly the words, not the book itself. - If not obvious yet, the spells are obviously in an ancient language, as seen by the first cutscene of Radiant Dawn where Micaiah casts a spell. - The spell Micaiah casts in the prologue of Radiant Dawn part 1 has been translated as "O light, gather Open my path…" This information leads me to believe that the spells are practically just ways of "asking" a certain magical entity to do something for the caster. Especially for anima magic this seems to work, though if light magic would be asking a god or goddess for a favor, that could be weird for Radiant Dawn. And don't even get me started on dark magic and the way it destroys ones sense of "self". (I really like this topic though, hope more people have something to say on this. Any theories? Anything I missed?)
  17. - I like equipable staves in Radiant Dawn - I like the Path of Radiance animations - The option to reclass is horrible - The worst thing about Awakening is that Pegasi fly by flapping their wings (instead of the series' previously established kicking air thing) - Wyverns having 6 limbs ruins the wyvern riding classes
  18. Some inspirational quotes I had saved in a file previously (minus the ones posted above) "use what you've been given, and great things will happen" - Nasir (FE9) "If you treat others in good faith, they will follow you of their own volition" - Greil (FE9) "Bat dung! No one's gonna roll over and die! Dying's for sissies!" - Schaeffer (FE9) "Become fat and happy, little beorc" - Mordecai (FE9) "Sometimes the simplest of traps offer up the best result." - Petrine (FE9) "If you react so, the men will react in kind." - Bastian (FE9) "I don't know. I think there are some things we're not meant to understand." - Ike (FE10) "Desire propels people forward." - Yune (FE10) "Time will pass as always, but nothing can change the destiny of mankind." - Ashera (FE10) "And war... The more we try to avoid it, the worse it is when it comes to us." - Ike (FE10) "You've nary a selfish bone among you." - NPC "grandfather" (FE9) "Once you're dead, you'll regret sassing me" - Maijin (FE9) "They say that blind arrogance sows the field of its own destruction." - Greil (FE9) "Denying something's obvious worth out of petty spite is foolish." - Lethe (FE9) "Ignorance is a form of bliss, is it not?" - Soren (FE9) "I have no sympathy for them" - Soren (FE9) "Well, for all those born with nothing, there are those born with everything. Perhaps those who never notice the difference are the ones we should envy." - Ranulf (FE9) "Much of what seems good and evil is simply a matter of perspective." - Nasir (FE9) "What good will it do you to expand your domain only to find enemies at your every border?" - Deghinsea (FE9) "Withdrawing can be the key that unlocks a future victory." - Titania (FE9) "If we allow hatred to rule our hearts, we become prisoners of the past." - Elincia (FE10)
  19. Just on the very off chance someone would want to trade (or just play the game) with some guy from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
