  1. There's not really any need for individual waves to be money makers since you can only buy the season pass as a package deal, unfortunately. If that was an option, I'd be happy to just buy wave 4 as the first three waves don't really do anything for me.
  2. In this game you want to promote as soon as possible. Engage keeps track of internal levels, but unlike past games does not automatically set your internal level to 21 upon promotion. In say, Awakening, a character in their advanced class who was promoted before level 20 gains EXP at a slower rate than they would if they were of the equivalent level in their base class (1:11, 2:12, etc.), so you have to balance the benefits of promoting (immediate stat gains, new weapon proficiencies, etc.) with the downside of lower EXP gain. In Engage, your internal level is whatever it was before promoting, so the rate of EXP gain remains the same. Furthermore, because the growth rates of advanced classes are almost always higher than their base class counterparts, you'll actually stunt your units' growth if you wait until level 20 to promote. Both master seals and second seals are consumed upon use, so the decision making in this game isn't when to promote, but rather who to promote first, as both kinds of seals are limited at first and only become unlimited later on.
  3. Yes, I just played her paralogue this evening and was curious to see if it was possible, and if it was, if she had any unique dialogue and/or did anything different. She just says something to the effect of "Gee, you found me!" and then everything plays out as if an enemy found her (she still exits the chest in range of the armor knight, is a green ally that still needs to be talked to, etc.).
  4. Personally I would go for something like +Mag, -Luck. The reason being is that Dragonstones prevent doubling, so the normal go to boon, +Speed, would become mostly worthless. The +Mag with a magic pair up will allow you to one shot most enemies and the held Dragonstone along with the Yato passive keeps you tanky. I was playing through conquest with the setup, and the +Mag allows you to destroy people even while still in e rank tomes.
  5. I would really only recommend Revalation for completionists or people who want an amazing PvP team. I haven't played very far into the game but from what I've played so far the gameplay is horrible. Units are either untouchable or unusable and it makes for a really bland and uninjoyable experience.
  6. So does starting at Branch of Fates reset your resources or does it retain what you had on the save file you're branching from.
  7. Does the counter magic skill stack with Nyx's personal? (Ex. Would an enemy take 1.5x the magic damage they inflicted?)
  8. As early as chapter 7 on Conquest you encounter a moving pair of enemies (at least on hard/classic).
  9. I don't think the voice itself is bad at all, it's actually fitting. I just feel like the quality and consistency we had in Awakening isn't there to the same degree anymore. Awakening definitely felt more polished, but either way we'll get used to the voices soon enough.
  10. I was feeling like joining Hoshido was the better choice But right after the choice I remembered why I picked Nohr. The characters are amazing and you feel more at home where I feel like you would feel like a stranger in Hoshido. Side note: Arthur's definitely the best character :P
  11. I was actually thinking of passing the Ninja class tree to Felicia. The main reasons being kunaifaire (for exploding shuriken or Felicia's ice tray) and the copy ability. Imagine having one Felicia permanently supporting you and then another for healing or attacking.
  12. I'm just about to head to GameStop to pick up conquest. Boon: Clever Bane: Unlucky Talent: Ninja Not sure if I want to go samurai because it has great skills and cannot be obtained on conquest, or ninja because it would benefit Felicia?
  13. Thank you both, Sumia will be my Dark Flier and Cordelia will take Falcoknight. I know my pairings aren't exactly the most optimal but I'm not playing Lunatic so I'll get by. I also want to see if I can beat apotheosis with my favorite pairings rather than the "best" ones.
  14. Starting up the old Awakening save again and I wanted to get some advice. I'm going to use both Sumia and Cordelia and want one of them to be a Falcoknight and the other a Dark Knight. I know Sumia can get both Healtouch and Tomefaire which would complement Falcoknight and Dark Flier respectively. I going to pair Sumia with Frederick and Cordelia with Stahl if that affects the answer. Thanks in advance!
  15. Huh, I guess I'm in the minority, I love Anna's new design. I think the younger look suits her.
  16. Hard/Classic, Conquest, Final Destination, 1v1 me. Seriously though, Hard/Classic without same turn reinforcements is literally a dream come true.
  17. Hey! I was surprised to see someone mention the topic I made. I was originally planning to update the topic periodically but I have been struggling with my IBS and have been trying to cope with a new diet and managing missed school time. Anyways, there aren't a lot of people who are willing to dive into supports and try to piece things together, so discussing this with people of a similar mindset is great. I have no personal connection to any of these pairings. Feel free to disagree and provide evidence for pairings that make the most sense to you. You may have found evidence everyone else missed! Now Chrom x Sumia, or any of their pairings really, are in an different boat. Because of the heavy push by Intelligent Systems, Chrom x Sumia seems like the obvious choice. It's hard to argue against the developer's heavy pushing, but by digging a little deeper you could find their true intentions. Here comes crazy theory time. I believe Cordelia was suppose to be Lucina's "canon" mother, and I mean that literally. I believe that instead of the choice we have now, when Chrom marries in the story, Cordelia was the scripted bride. Why they changed it, I couldn't say, but I think once they decided they didn't want Chrom to marry Cordelia, or wanted to give the players a choice, they pushed Sumia to cover it up. Look at this picture, it's official concept art: The lady in the top right isn't Lucina, that was Cordelia! They changed her hair from blue to red and I think they made her have a crush on Chrom to reference their original choice. Sully x Kellam was actually the next pairing I was going to write about. I also agree with Panne x Virion. When I have more time I'll be sure to explain them along with evidence but I just wanted people to know I'm still here, and to leave a crazy theory for people to think about.
  18. I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but are there same-turn reinforcements in hard mode for conquest?
  19. Congrats on finding a difficulty that is right for you. Play whatever feels comfortable to you because in the end that's all that really matters. For me, normal is too easy but hard is too gimicy. I don't grind, lowman, use staffbots, spotpass, or abuse rescue staffs. Without using any of these things I always get caught up in Valm because of one problem. Same turn reinforcements. The same turn reinforcements force me to reset until I get aggravated and call it quits. One of these days I'll finally finish awakening but I don't know when. EDIT: I've read fates doesn't have same turn reinforcements at least on normal difficulty. Can anyone confirm if that applies to higher difficulties as well?
  20. Don't like that word because it's not used correctly. Silver I understand why you think they would have included Lucina in the comparison, but if like Henry or Libra fathered Inigo they wouldn't know Lucina well enough to compare the two, regardless if she's the only child still alive. They could have compared Inigo to someone like Chrom or the Avatar who are people everyone knew really well. Chrom fathering both Lucina and Inigo makes perfect sense because new parents often compare their children, and Inigo would have to fill both Lucina and Chrom's shoes as well as being prepared to take the crown at any time. It just makes too much sense to be considered irrelevant.
  21. Took a little bit of a break from the forums and this thread got a lot more replies than I expected, sorry for not replying right away. Sully x Vaike would definitely explain Kjelle's natural strength but she say any where whether she was born with it or if she got it from training? The emphasis of cooking in her support conversations make be learn toward Stahl. As for Cordelia x Kellam I can't really see it as much. For Severa's supports to work she would need someone who would have a backbone and make her do chores and earn rewards, much like Frederick or the Avatar. I personally don't think Kellam could stand up to his daughter Even using the Avatar you can only get one of the three exclusive hair colors per save file. Gregor's hair is a little bit more brownish red and Virion's is definitely light blue instead of silver if you want to get technical. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/w4052hl1Agk/maxresdefault.jpg http://imgur.com/1H6JfUO From Inigo's supports with Olivia, in the future she was the one to encourage him to start flirting, not the father. Another barrel reference I know I was just teasing you The barrels thing wasn't really evidence, I just thought it was a coincidence no one even mentioned before. I didn't know that was his Japanese name all the more reason for Chrom to make sense, but Virion supporters could use that for an example as well :/ (even though virion!inigo doesn't make any sense.)
  22. You must really love hair, right? I normally don't consider hair to be a factor in pairings because it's impossible to have every child character with their official hair color in one save, even if using the avatar. You can't get Nah green, Severa red, Inigo silver, ect.
