  1. The funny thing is that you think you're being clever. But your logic fails because the argument here is that not all game features are created equal. If you don't give a damn about the story and wanna skip it, by all means, do so, but that doesn't change the fact that it is definitely a bigger part of the game than poking people in the face.
  2. I said it's at odds with the story, that is not the same as affecting the story. Rubbing on your units face does not once leave an impact on the actual plot. You have yet to give an example of it doing so. It is, again, fluff, just like those costumes. Hell, the costumes are "worst", because you can be in a silly suit while being fucked by zombies. Let's look at those "legitimate points" again. He introduced tripping, which even he admitted was a mistake and removed it for the next game. That certainly doesn't make him incompetent. That makes him a responsible adult that owns up to his mistakes. And the other I believe was that he "routinely goes out of his way to fuck over melee players and advanced players for more casual fans". How does he do that exactly? Brawl was certainly made for a more casual audience, but that is only one game, one event. How does he routinely fuck them over? Did he build a time machine and retroactively turn each copy of Melee into Brawl or something? Hell, did Nintendo even send a cease and desist to the project M guys? I'm starting to wonder if you know what these words mean. You're certainly free to disagree with his choices, but if you're throwing criticism at the guy, at least make them sound mature and well structured, you know, like a grown ass adult. What you're doing is throwing a hissy fit because he did something you didn't like. That is not him being incompetent, that's you being childish. I didn't deny any of that. No where did I say it that it can't be critcized, nowhere did I say it doesn't affect the game in some way. I said it doesn't affect the story or the characters, which is 100% true. Nobody stops to say, "Hey Kamui, remember that time you rubbed my face? That was weird, but now I have enough strength to defeat my cancer!" This is just... a stupid analogy. Like, I wanted to literally facepalm that was so stupid.Adding a "rape simulator" would bump this game up to porn, literally costing them 10 shit tons of yens, and forever driving their name into the dirt. Obviously, just from a business standpoint, pretty much nobody would greenlight such an idea, and Nintendo once owned love hotels. Just because someone says they are cool with something, does not mean they are cool with everything. Forget equivalent, the two aren't even comparable
  3. Let me rephrase, it's not optional like amie where it can just be ignored and nothing is affected. It's a critical part of the gameplay mechanics. If it was too horribly balanced, then it is detrimental to the game. Obviously, you can not pair up.
  4. I adressed that in my comment, the part where I said "I can understand how it being in can affect your view of it", was acknowledging, that yes, it is a weird feature that can make you think less of the game and the dev. I'm saying that he shouldn't make a bigger deal of it than it is because it is still completely avoidable. Oh, you know, spotpass battles? Yeah, totally what a meant!
  5. Never say he "pretty much said" anything, ever. Fanboys will warp anything into the worst thing. Need I remind you of when the internet took "you can't just increase the roster and call it a day" and turned it into "smash 4 will have less characters than brawl!" If he didn't say it, then don't put shit in his mouth. And Sakurai admitted that tripping was a bad idea, which is why it's gone now. He made a mistake, he didn't break the law. In paragraph 2, sure, his points are valid, the amie and supports are at odds with the story, but they still don't affect the story, so what does it matter? All of it is still fluff. Resident evil, silent hill, and others have silly little costumes to unlock that are still seperate from the story. Paragraph 3 is just more Sakurai bashing. Sakurai puts a shitload into his games, he goes above and beyond 95% of other devs in making games rich with content and longevity, to call him a failure just because he messed with your precious melee is asinine. He didn't talk about melee positively, he used it as an excuse to attack Sakurai's character with bullshit accusations. And on topic, it's on a case by case basis. Something like amie can be safetly ignored, as it does nothing you can't do in other ways. Something like the pair up feature can't be disregarded as optional because it directly effects the balance of the game. If the game is built to where it is too easy if you pair up, but nearly impossible if you don't, that's a problem. Not all features are created equal, is what I'm trying to say. I don't enjoy Smash Run, but it doesn't sour me on the game one bit, and I don't miss out on much. But if the online was still a laggy mess, I'd be pissed.
  6. It's been a while since I've seen a salty melee fan. Incompetent? a failure? Why? Because he did things you melee folks didn't like? Sound logic. I remember that the next time I don't like my old lady's cooking. And Smash 4 has taken steps to cater back to the melee crowd only without, you know the horrible character balance. Routinly screwing over Melee fans? Last I checked, Brawl was only one game. But you melee people sure do love your dramatic bitchfits and ad hominem attacks.
  7. In Awakening, Robin is explicitly the only one who can size up an enemy so well that they know how the flow of battle will go. Now notice how if you put it on auto, your characters become no better than the enemies AI. This pretty much confirms that Robin is constantly giving the army orders. You can argue that it's not possible, but gameplay mechanics work independent of real world logic. Or are you gonna say how it's totally possible to have one soldier wipe out your enemies without even a scratch? I dunno bro, reading through your comments, you seem to be making the amie feature into way more than it actually is. I can understand how it being in can affect what you think of the game, but don't turn it into the pedophile that lives next door. It's a silly little feature put in so people can rub their favorite characters and build up affinity points. That is literally it. It has nothing to do with "character agency" and it sure as hell isn't weaved into the narrative. If you don't want to use it, if you you truly feel like it's a humiliating feature, then don't use it. That way, they never have to suffer. You can argue that it's there, and that's all that matters, but why not complain about everything else you can do that's way worse? You can use children at meatshields, you can hook a small girl up with the local middle aged sadists, you can kill your wife and force the child you had together to watch, or better yet, just have said child do it herself, the sky is the limit.
  8. Out of curioisity, does FeMui get unique supports with Aqua in each route as well?
  9. On the first line, that's 90% of supports, (and 100% of the KamuixSibling supports) It probably feels more forced because they play her up as the gayest person in San Francisco... up until you initiate that S-Support, then yeah, she's totally willing to give all that up to go steady with some dude just because he asked, because that's realistic as fuck Disclaimer: I do believe that she genuinely likes women "that way", but Nintendo insisted on only having one gay romance per route, when they should have just made one for each gender per route. Then we could've avoided this mess
  10. Hyperbole is a dangerous thing friend, it's scary how many people speak in hyperboles only to later it at face value
  11. I wouldn't say ChromxSumia is being shoved down anyone's throat. It's certainly favored above most others, but the developers don't really do anything to punish or make it difficult for Chrom to marry someone else. Just get one of the others to outrank her, then BOOM, no more Sumia (aside from that weird glitch). If they really wanted to do some throat shoving, then they would have Chrom mention Sumia more often after she joins your team, or gave Cynthia a unique Chrom support. Or at the very least dropped some Chrom Sumia hints in Fates. As it is now, once you sidestep it, that's pretty much that
  12. I haven't seen the convo, but this just might be acknowledging that the Smash Bros Robin can look like a completely different man, or even a different gender than the Robin from the players game. Though they still generally posses the same spirit, which is what the trio is probably picking up on. Like those Einharjar whatever it's spelled in awakening.
  13. This topic reminds me, I was watching some skinship vids and came across Soleil's. And it seems like once you S-rank her, she turns into a moe blob. I mean, I wasn't planning on marrying her, but that is still... disappointing to see, to put it kindly. They even make her sound super girly and on the verge of crying for no reason. Why you do this IS, she was actually kinda cool, then you turn her into her Grandma at her most annoying.
  14. You're logic is a little backwards here. They don't keep the characters around so that they become popular, they stick around because they are already so popular. anyway, the only character I really don't like is Camilla. Specifically because of the MaMui support. It pretty much consists of her asking Kamui to do things that clearly make him uncomfortable (each more creepy than the last) and when he rightfully voices his discomfort, she straight up lies to his face and tells him that it's totally platonic brother-sister stuff. Uh no Camilla, you want his dick, that's like, 95% of your character I can't say I've been through a similar situation, but I think it's safe to say that having the woman you grew up thinking is your older sister trying to fuck you can't be good for your mental health. Especially since these supports don't take into account that Kamui might already be married. I think all the Hoshido/Nohr sibling S-supports are poorly written, but MaMuixCamilla is definitely the worst of the bunch, probably of all supports. It pretty much ends with Camilla proposing with absurd logic, and Kamui, not wanting to be outdone, accepts with even more absurd reasoning. Like his words literally mean nothing, he's just saying shit to fill out the S-support.
  15. Name: Estellize Kingdom: Nohr Birthday: 2/31 Secondary Class: Witch Asset: HP Flaw: HP Spouse: Syalla BIO: A serious expression that belies an unbelievable streak of stupidity and recklessness. Estellize once nearly burned down the entire Kingdom in an attempt to get a cup of water. She switches the positioning of her bra and panties in an attempt to confuse her enemies. She threw all pregnant woman into the otherwordly gate and was shocked when they returned with fully grown children, whom she then immediately put on the front lines. She spent Nohr's entire gold supply on bronze swords because she believed that having more swords than your enemies automatically made you stronger than them. She made it to the finals of the national spelling bee, but lost when asked to spell the name of her country, and after several minutes ended up spelling 'Mars Bitch'. Despite all of that, she has the full support of her country and her soldiers. Described as the miracle child, she has managed to get her soldiers through many hardships literally without a scratch, as well as make allies out of the most monstrous enemies. Just don't call her a tactician, she thinks its a sexual euphemism. The one most likely to build a functional muffin button.
  16. Nohr, pretty sure I know every major twist I got the name of the big bad of Invisible kingdom, but it means nothing to me. I spoiled myself on one big twist in Hoshido, but not something that's all that surprising. I know almost nothing beyond that. So I'll play through Conquest first, then Birthright, then Invisible
  17. The M rating was just due to the content of one case, it would have been silly if Capcom was like "Whelp we already got an M rating, let's have everyone curse like sailors!" And Phoenix and Apollo started throwing out "bitches" and "motherfuckers". My personal rankings of the games go 3>I-2>5>4>I-1>1>2 but I at least liked them all. On topic I liked the story of both those games, not great, but I wasn't bored lol And I prefer my games to have happy endings, so if that's the case for the third route, bring it on
  18. Aren't they a generation apart though? Unless you mean mother/child
  19. Doesen't Marian say he has a boyfriend? Or did they sensor that somewhere?
  20. Buddy, that ship sailed a few weeks ago lol I doubt they'll do anything about it. WAY too much work, even if they wanted to
  21. I don't get why people constantly piss on Yu when most of this describes pretty much every protagonist in existence. But why not respond to this, I'm free today. He's the leader because he's the first one to get his powers (and the whole reason they could even enter the tv the first time) as well as being the strongest. His special power is not exclusive to him in canon. He's just the only one with the wild card in Inaba, like Makoto was the only one in his game, which makes sense, because the others only got their powers after they go in the tv. He always had the potential. So they're not "supernatural teenagers", they are normal teenagers who never would have gotten their powers if not for him. They can chase down the killer while the police can't because they are using a method the police would never reasonably even consider. They're not even that good at it, they mostly spin their wheels until the culprit slips up. The best they can do is stop there from being anymore victims. The police can't because, again, the culprit is using a supernatural method, and there's nothing they could do about it. Naoto and Dojima still do a pretty good job despite only seeing it from a normal perspective. It's not that all the girls know about each other either, you are literally cheating on them all. And yes, that's YOU I'm talking about. He could be monogamous, he could be gay/asexual, or simply just not be into any of them. It's the player that sluts it up. It's Persona 3 where you don't get a choice. If I recall correctly, the game even reminds you when that you already have a girlfriend, so you won't be a cheating douchebag, but YOU ignore it, that's your fault. The only decent criticism you have is that he solves everyones life problem. And even that's not completely unrealistic. You'd probably be amazed at how many people just want to vent their problems out at someone they barely know. I've been there a LOT. I may not be able to exactly fix whatever's going on in there lives, but they still just like to get it off their chests. A more expressive and intelligent person can at least give some sound advice.
  22. Man, the writer REALLY loves the brother-sister shipping doesn't he? There's gonna be a lot of companions in the American release
