Unfulfilled and Paths that May Never Cross. God Shattering Star is my favorite but I know it would dominate so I voted for Funeral of Flowers because it suited it's route really well.

Blue Lions: Felix - his perspective would be interesting in regards to the rebellion as well as his brother's demise. Plus his development would be nice to read in manga format. Mercedes - Her house life from Bartels and with Emile would be interesting. Shed some light on crest system in practice and even the commonfolk. Not to mention it could also go to where she meets Annette and Lorenz. All around, lots of possibilities. Golden Deer: Lysithea - Interesting to see what her account of the experiments were like. That and I really like her character and would love to see more of her. Leonie - What the game seriously lacks is the common folks opinion. Plus we could see Jeralt again. Lorenz - Seeing the nobility/alliance round table just jives me up. Politics and mind games? YES SIGN ME UP. We can also see how he progressed in the sorcery school he attended with Mercie/Annette and how generally everyone reacted to Claude's appearance. Claude - You said no lord but I just gotta. It would be interesting to finally see Almyran culture(that has been teased so much) on full display as well as some actual childhood scenes. Black Eagles: Dorothea - Same as Leonie. We need more common folks perspective on the state of Fodlan. The bonus is her past at the opera and with Manuela to open up more characterization. Hubert - We get to know Edelgard's ordeal as well get a greater look at Huberts hinted family life. That and I'd love to see a 10 year old(?) fight a group of military men while trying to cross the border. Church: Cyril - Same reason as Claude, but the downside would be that we don't see much of Almyra since he does join the church. But still, child soldier and now devout believer? Interesting thought Alois - Adventures of Jeralt. We would get Alois's perspective of Jeralt and up to the fire that Jeralt used to escape. Personally I believe Alois would be more better than Jeralt because I like guessing whats going on Jeralt's head. Seteth/Flayn - Come on. As if you weren't curious about the Nabateans! They're a mine of information to be gained. Nemesis - Similar as Seteth and Flayn, except we also learn much more from TWSITD's side.

VW Byleth: Female Closest Allies: Claude(S), Lysithea, Hilda Personality: canon byleth but softens up and more likely to laugh. SS Violet: Female Closest Allies: Alois, Raphael, Flayn (S-support Seteth) Personality: Putting on a show. Anxious on the inside truthfully and feels some strange attachment to Rhea. Starts to relax and find herself. BL Dwight: Male Closest Allies: Mercedes, Shamir(S), Dimitri Personality: Serious about his duty. Not much of a jokester except for two times that he borrowed jokes from Alois. A well of wisdom. CR Barret: Male Closest Allies: Lysithea(S), Dorothea, Hanneman Personality: Cautious. Trust others more than in their own self. Kinda cowardly but bravens up.

God Shattering Star, Funeral of Flowers, Paths That will Never Cross, and Unfulfilled comes to mind.

I basically just had her tutor me in fists because I was aiming for war master. NG+ helps since you won't waste your whole day. Ended up getting her at A rank by the 1st month of the new year.

Claude x Byleth - Honestly their relationship is pretty perfect. Not to couch on the other lord romances but I very much appreciate being treated as an equal rather than a mentor. Other than that, they're literally a team with each other to the end. GD literally had a meeting without them to talk about how great they are together. Okay, I actually have a lot more reasons but that would be an essay. Dimitri x Flayn - Surprising, I know. It's one of the very few Flayn supports that actually has a wonderful support from beginning to end (another great one she has is with Manuela). While I didn't exactly feel Flayn was shippable with anyone given her circumstance, I found her supports with Dimitri to be deep and help characterize them on both sides with their inner worries. It's pretty wholesome tbh. Dimitri x Edelgard - I'm a sucker for childhood friends, especially turned enemies. That and the dagger kind of sealed the deal on me with both of them having had crushes on each other as kids. (Note: They didn't know they were half-siblings. Edelgard never knew while Dimitri found out a year or two prior to the game). Linhardt x Dorothea - Another surprise. I just found their support doing good for the both of them. Dorothea learning that what other people say doesn't change who she is as a person and Linhardt learning that you can't just always run away. They're very mature and have nothing but respect for the other, and I appreciate that. I think it would be (and is) a great relationship. Ignatz x Maya(Raphael) - It's just sweet, okay? Maya is often referenced as being the one to jumpstart Ignatz's art career and her own one that it feels natural to have them together. Unlike the others, this is pretty sweet and simple. Leonie x Felix: HA! I know right, didn't you see that Clown ending? It was hilarious but putting the end card behind (tbh, I'd have a lot more ships if the end card was put behind) I do appreciate how they mutually respect each other and their strength. Maybe not even shipping but I appreciate their bond nonetheless.

I'd say do it on Normal/Casual for last. (or 3rd if you're going to go back to GD on your 5th). If anything you get some info, music, and cutscenes to fill up. That and fill up supports with characters from different houses.

Currently playing church, but I've completed the main 3 so far. I played in order of GD>BL>BE:E>Church GD>>BL>>>BE:E Golden Deer was a ton of fun. The cast was amazing with great chemistry, Claude is literally the best lord and asks all the questions, plus God Shattering Star. Well, it's moreso the maps were dynamic and fun, plus we get more story background. I have my faults on what it "could have" been since I wish it took a more personal take with itself instead of being Church Strawberry DIet, but otherwise will play on Maddening. Blue Lions had the most emotionally satisfying story to me. While Dimitri's character was great, I wasn't too attached to him until we got to his change, which felt a bit too fast in my opinion. Other than Dimitri, I heavily enjoyed the cast (about almost as same as GD). I wish more story elements were explored more, like the Tragedy of Duscur, but emotionally? It was great since almost every character was involved in the main plot in some way. Plus the biggest bonus was definitely Edelgard. Some people said this route made them hate her, but I found her sympathetic without knowing her motivations yet. Showed some light on who Edelgard once was and the two main lords relationship with each other. Black Eagles. While I definitely enjoy the cast, I don't really feel a camaradiere between them as tight as the other houses. As for Edelgard herself, she fluctuated on me from "Oooh, I see." to "Really?" Mainly in regards to her support and some logic in regards to the war. I admit full bias to not enjoying killing my former students of the two houses prior. The execution of it wasn't really good, but it tries. If anything the ending cutscene is epic.

Seems neck to neck in here. I have yet to play Church route but I'm personally of the opinion that Edelgard meant well, but at the cost of a lot. The way she selfishly pursues her ideas without chance for diplomacy is why going through her route was hard for me. As for Rhea, I personally do like her. She's calming and terrifying at a drop a hat. I started with the belief that, while she did propagate history, it wasn't for bad intentions. That said, she's unfit to be a ruler since the crest nobility system does actively hurt society in the long run. I do like her, but definitely don't think she's fit to lead. I used to get behind her but not anymore. For Edelgard, I do think she would be fit to lead if she were compromising, but I can't get behind her since she won't.

Agreed. She's an accomplice and should hold some of the responsibility, even though she isn't that one that directly took the knife. The way she consoled the professor after has no hints of guilt, as if she wasn't, at the very least, enabling it. Rubbed me the wrong way for sure. That an I'm sure it was also a benefit to her as well. Taking out a skilled captain's knight and commander before the war makes sense why she can't be entirely torn over her professor losing their parent.

S - Top tier. Probably the best characters in the game. And yes Tomas the librarian. I loved his explanations in the first school phase before stuff happened. A - Fond of. I appreciate them all. B - Like. I like them just fine but nothing more than that. C - Eeeeh. I probably like them in their supports more than in the story D - Cyril. And also all the villains, but I was too lazy to put them in there.

My order of play was: Golden Deer > Blue Lions > Black Eagles > Church That said the only order I would strongly advise is Blue Lions > Black Eagles Golden Deer and Church can be where ever. Personally I found Blue Lions route made Edelgard sympathetic so it made me curious about her. I enjoyed playing Golden Deer first because it answered things that BL and BE left open. When I went into their respective routes, I wasn't really unsatisfied by the unresolved issues because I already knew the answers from GD, but I can understand wanting to keep the reveals for last.
