  1. I looked around at prices, but I don't know what they're actually selling at, you know? I'm not up to date on old game value at all so I was hoping someone here might have a better idea.
  2. Initially with the battle approaching, Kimiko, Elliot, and Valter had been hard pressed to figure out whether the rest of the group had arrived, and if so where they were. The small group's search had been fruitless up until Elliot decided to fly off on his own and spotted the wagon several streets down by the docks. That stunt earned him a scolding from Kimiko, abruptly cut off by the sound of canonfire. By the time the three rounded the last corner, Valter and Kimiko on horseback with Elliot flying behind, the dragoons had reached land and were making a right mess of the docks. Phyllis sped down a clear path straight towards the rear of the wagon. Elliot picked up speed and landed in the back as they neared it. --- Well everything was going straight to shit now, wasn't it? Perfect. What better time to sneak on a ship than in the middle of chaos? Especially if one wasn't above running straight up the loading ramp like your life depended on it. Which is what Kamal did. It didn't matter which one, as long as that group with the Rexians was on it.
  3. Nah, I didn't mean romantic tension as much as chemistry. There was no romantic tension, but there was definitely foundation for a potential something floating around ("He said Bucky and it was like I was a 16 year old kid in Brooklyn again", ect.) Basically what's going on is, if Bucky was a chick in the same comrade in arms/best friends/loyal to the last drop position, them becoming a thing would not surprise anyone. That happens all the time with male/female best buds.
  4. Why does being bi not fit Captain America? What does that change about his characterization or personality that clashes so much?
  5. No, they weren't asking for him specifically to be gay. The trending tag on twitter that the news decided to report on was #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend. He can have a boyfriend and still be into women, it's called being Bi. And I did see the first Cap movie which is why the entire time I have been saying Bi.
  6. I... what? You do know bisexuality exists, right? Being interested in women in the past doesn't mean a person can't also be interested in men. WRT the Captain America thing... have you seen Civil War. There is so much going on between Steve and Bucky even the actors talk about it. Also Cap being a Nazi has nothing to do with this, and is something idiotic decided by the people writing the new comic.
  7. I mean, you could totally avoid embarrassment for both parties by not assuming their gender if you can't tell and using neutral pronouns/ not calling them man or woman until you know. That's always an option.
  8. You don't ask if they're male or female. You ask what pronouns they use. "What prounons do you go by/prefer?" is way less awkward than asking what their sex is. Also note that the vast majority of people you'd be asking that question to are younger, so way, way less likely to be offended by it.
  9. Well in real life you could just ask. In the case you can't ask, you just use neutral pronouns or their name until you figure out otherwise. In a video game it literally doesn't matter.
  10. Just don't assume you know their gender until it's made obvious, bam problem solved. Treat them like strangers on the internet. Mistaking physical appearances in a video game doesn't say anything bad about you as a person. If it's possible to, it's best to just switch to the correct pronouns and move on.
  11. Oh my goodness! ;o; Thank you everyone who voted, and thank you staff for hosting this. It was a lot of fun! Congratulations too to all the winners and participants, there were so many amazing entries and you all should be proud. and also since linking stuff was mentioned, here's my art blog
  12. Thank you guys! All your nice comments mean a lot, I'm really glad you all enjoy it this much :) Yup! It's made of polymer clay molded over wire and foil. [spoiler=This was the original armature (which I then glued to wire stilts stuck in a piece of wood)] [spoiler=And then that got covered in polymer clay]
  13. This is super awesome! I really like how it's a cross between a hat and a hood, and even folds down like one. You did a really great job. :)
  14. Holy moly, that's really impressive! Props to you for being so skilled with paper, I have no idea how you did that but it's friggin awesome.
  15. *raises hand* I enjoyed the stuffing out of it
  16. Average height for women is ~5'5" in the US and Europe. Tallest people in the world live in the Dinaric Alps with an average female height of 5'7". She's above average wherever she's from, LOL (why does everyone have to be shorter than me)
  17. OoC: Collab with Bal. For future reference he's posting with Resheph. Resheph Talibah had spent the better part of the day maintaining the cover story explaining their business for being in Japan in the first place, namely scoping out its suitability as a site for possible post-graduate academic research. Fuyuki, while not without its share of attractions, would not ordinarily top the list of destinations for foreigners, after all, but with the given explanation, he felt their presence would be a lot more palatable to any other Masters from the native populace, and maybe even other foreign Masters like themselves. This time spent also doubled as some preliminary reconnaissance, general scoping out the lay of the land, and checking that everything actually fit together more or like like how he'd expected from the information accumulated over his yearslong correspondence with one of the residents. Obviously, without a summoned Servant, the man was careful to avoid anything risky, or that would draw any undue attention to himself: well, any more attention than what would be gathered naturally by an Eygptian walking around in Japan, anyway. Still, without officially having become a participant, technically speaking, Resheph should be considered as "out of bounds" as far as targets for enemy aggression, although, obviously an unscrupulous foe would make no such distinctions. What other choices did he have, though? Secluding himself away in fear until a Servant was summoned did not suit him, and his assistant Nimoeph was already hard at work constructing the summoning array, a rather one person task which his presence would neither hasten nor delay. Resheph had made a pitstop to pick up some fresh fish and produce at a local supermarket, the better to have a healthy and delicious supper with. [imagine I go into full FSN level food porn here.] Just as he was returning, the sight of a familiar... animal... ascending the stairs caught his attention. "Ah, nice to see you Evander," he said, acknowledging the beast's presence. "I take it it's time?" Without exactly waiting for a reply, he set down the groceries and made his way to the basement. Evander bobbed his head as Resheph passed by him. "Yup. I'll be right back with Baset," he said over his shoulder before heading for the staircase to the upper floors of the building. At the sound of footsteps on the stairs, Nimoeph turned to face the basement entrance. "Welcome back, Resheph. I've just finished." Everything was now in place, except... "We just need to place the catalyst and we'll be ready to start," she informed him. The array itself was a series of spirals within a large circle, with three circles round the edges connected by a ring. Various inscriptions accompanied each connecting branch. She had explained the purpose of each section when they'd gone over the plans, but in summary the design was supposed to alter the way their servant tethered to the physical world. Resheph would receive the command spells, while she bore most of the prana burden. In theory it would be a rather effectual method considering what they planned to summon. Resheph gave the various inscriptions a cursory overview to see that they had been done up as the pair had previously decided. Honestly, it was more habit than anything: he certainly wasn't expecting any betrayal on Nimoeph's part, nor any unintentional inaccuracies. He had full faith in her competence, in the time they'd already spent together at Atlas she'd certainly proven herself a caliber mage. While the current arrangement might seem a bit strange to an outside onlooker, what with her providing what could be seen most of the work while he might be seen as getting most of the reward, there was of course worth considering the matter that she had just raised. The catalyst: an object without which no summoning would be possible. He'd acquired something from one of his visits to an island nation in the Mediterranean years past, at the time picked up on a whim, and while the personage to which it was connected might not be perfectly ideal... when it came to Heroic Spirits, one can't exactly be picky. Not when you have a deadline, after all. Still, Resheph almost frowned as he anticipated probably being denounced as an infidel at least once in the first few days of the coming War. Uttering a brief incantation to summon the catalyst from the place of safety where he'd been storing it, the alchemist displayed it to his fellow. It was a smallish thing, not terribly imposing or conspicuous. It certainly wouldn't be used later as a powerful artifact in the Servant's arsenal, unfortunately. In fact, if unaware of its history, one might have simply dismissed it an ordinary ornamental loop of silver. However, according to his research and the history involved, it was something that had used by a conquering king to restrain a defeated enemy ruler. Well, not on its own of course, it had just been one link of many in the chains involved, after all, but the point is made. The related bit of legend in particular was actually rather heartening for Resheph, as it was physical proof that, whatever else his faults may be, they could at least trust on their Heroic Spirit to be a man of his word. "Well then, no time like the present. Let's begin," Resheph laid the link to rest in one of the three circles placed about the ring surrounding the diagram, the circle specifically designated for the catalyst, and then took up his position in the appropriate one of the remaining two, which governed how the Master relationship was to be distributed. Catalyst placed, Nimoeph went to stand in the circle across the array from her partner. She took a deep breath, then met his gaze for a moment before they both nodded. The two began the summoning chant in unison. Silver and iron be the essence, stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation. Raise a wall against the wind. Close the four cardinal gates coming from the crown, rotate the three-branched road to the Kingdom. Shut, fill. Repeat five times. Once filled, break asunder. Let it be declared now; Your flesh shall serve under us, and your sword shall hold our fate. If you abide by this feeling, answer the call of the Holy Grail. Here is our oath: We are the ones who become all good in the world, we shall have dominion over all evils of hell. Yet you shall serve with your mind clouded by chaos, as one caged in madness. We shall wield your chains. From the Seventh Heaven, clad in three words of power, arise from the ring of restraint, Protector of the Balance! This was it. This was the culmination of several months' planning. The engravings began to glow midway through the chant as Nimoeph fueled the summoning with her prana, and by the end of the ritual the center was so bright it hurt to look at. The room flashed white, and she instinctively shielded her eyes with an arm. Once she had stopped seeing spots Nimoeph slowly uncovered her eyes. Had all their hard work ended in success? The august gravity of the ceremony became almost palpable as it progressed, their combined and overlapping voices fueling the illumination of the engravings radially outward from the center until finally, upon finishing the chant, the light reached the circles in which they were standing and everything flashed to white. To Resheph it was clear they had certainly just accomplished something highly profound, all that was left was to see if it had unfolded in the manner they had expected it to, or if some unexpected kinks had cropped up. Well, and also to be able to actually see again, but that shouldn't take long. He chided himself for getting too caught up in the thrill of the moment to react quickly enough. He'd have to work on that in the future, no doubt.
  18. Well, there was also that Synthia was now wearing her cloak after retrieving it from the table, so she let that answer slide. "It's fine, really," she replied. On his side she could see staffs, which was a bit odd for an avian. Didn't they have their own magic sources? "Right, so if you need anything... just let me know. I've been with this group for a while."
  19. A+ updates 10/10 would mission command again I think it's clear where I stand in this conflict
  20. When Synthia noticed the avian had come over to speak with her she quirked an eyebrow. Both went up when she realized he hadn't come over to talk about how she'd questioned the earlier. "I'm Synthia, the one who gave you a hard time a few minutes ago," she said, a hint of confusion in her tone. "I'm also our only healer at the moment. One of two, now that you're here." Well, I guess avians often are the forgive and forget types. It'll be nice having help keeping people out of trouble, anyway.
  21. Synthia had gone back to her table to gather up all of her things, and then left the inn to meet everyone outside. They were just about ready to leave it looked like, so she walked over to untie Myra from the hitching post and mount up. --- "We're leaving already?" Kat mumbled between the last bites of her sandwich. She took a moment to shove the rest of it in her mouth before hurrying outside before she was left behind. Volga was just around the corner, and she leapt on the wyvern's back before maneuvering her around by the wagon. A wyvern might not be the best mount to take into the city, especially with everyone so on edge, but it wasn't as if she could leave Volga here alone. "Ready to go when the rest of you are," she called over.
