Spoiler
Now that we have a good indication that romance is back I am dying to know who the mlm/wlw options will be this time around.

Diamante got screwed. I mean, giving his opponent a hit boost as well? What the fuck?? Aside from that, Etie's doesn't look like it'd be very useful. Also, personals based on the gender of the foe return. I think that if there is one that requires female opponents, it'll be useless because 99.9% of enemies in these games are male.
Three Houses actually had pretty good gender diversity among the enemy teams. Even the typical early game bandits had several female members so Engage could follow up in that regard

You guys are really missing out on the old man yaoi potential Morion and Hyacnith have. They even have enemies to lovers thrown in for good measure

Looks like a journalist decided to showcase all the personal skills up on Reddit

I was looking at the stats and is it just me or do Alear and Alfred's stats look kinda... low for their level? At first I thought stats in general were low but I looked at the other characters and their stats seem much higher. Granted there is a difference in level between Alear and Alfred compared to everyone but only around 3 levels difference.
Edit: I did notice that their speed is being debuffed but I don't know by how much. Either Alear has terrible speed or the debuffs from heavier weapons are really big

While I admit it might be unlikely, the Full Gay Option (Alfred x Diamante, Timerra x Ivy, Celine x Hortensia and Alcryst x Fogato) is also intriguing.
Alfred x Diamante is oddly fitting if Alfred's line about admiring Boucheron's muscles is anything to go by. Seems like he has a thing for muscular men

Oh I thought of a way to make Kinshi Knight more distinct from Bow Knight! Just give it Bows and Staves. We have no dual bow + staff wielding classes so it wouldn't overlap with anything
-
I'd love to see Kinshi Knight and the classic Falcon Knight return. The only thing is idk what weapon types they'd use? Kinshi Knight could obviously go Sword/Lance/Axe + Bow but that would essentially just make it a better bow knight unless its stats and class skill is worse.
Also Falcon Knights whole dual weapon using AND weapon + staff shtick has been taken by wyvern knight and griffon knight so I don't really know what they could do to make it stand out

By the way, I think I've got the explanation for Martial Arts, but it's not 100%... they may use (Str+Mag)/2 as a formula. This matches for Jean's and Alear's stats, but there's a bunch of footage to look through for Framme and Seadas if anyone's motivated. At worst I'll probably do it tomorrow.
Do you have any idea as to whether they target defence or resistance?

Rosado is right there, so unless the secret to aerial travel is crossdressing, I think males have the wyvern equivalent to the Flier class.
That actually makes a lot of sense. I was wondering why the class was called sword/lance/axe flier instead of sword/lance/axe pegasus. Men probably do have access to the base flying class they just ride a different mount similar to how both Ivy and Hortensia are both wing tamers yet one rides a wyvern while the other rides a pegasus

Cue me throwing every male character I find hot into the sage class regardless if they have good magic or not
-
I could honestly see them packaging Chrom and Robin together as one emblem and their gimmick could revolve around referencing the pair-up system. I know Lucina's emblem already kinda does that but unlike with the 3H leaders and Eirika and Ephraim you actually do engage with the two of them at the same time instead of swapping between them.
They'd be more akin to the ice climbers or rosalina and luma whereas the house leaders are pokemon trainer and Eirika and Ephraim are pyra/mythra

Also: please m-m romanceable Fogado😭 or anyone that isn't a long haired twink (love me some Linhardt-Yuri-Jeritza, but there's merit on variety!)
It's kind of ironic that the gay male options are almost always twinks when the fe men that are particularly popular among gay men are the ones like Ike, Hector, 90% of axe fighters/warriors etc.
I still remember during the cindered shadows announcement every mlm person I knew was praying for Balthus to be the gay option over Yuri
-
If all the characters are just royals and retainers with few exceptions that actually kinda sucks... part of what I like about fe casts is that it features soldiers from a variety of different upbringings, backgrounds and social classes and I don't really feel like you get that variety with a roster full of nobles/royals and their presumably high ranking retainers
-
It's kind of hard for me to plan without knowing the average deployment limit but I wouldn't be surprised if it was around 12 based on the amount of engage rings in the base game and the somewhat smaller looking roster.
I really wanna use Celine but as a primarily sword unit instead of a tome unit. The campiness of her duelling people in that giant frilly ballgown will keep me entertained regardless of how easy the game is.
Other then I'll probably just fill my army with every man I find attractive cause I'm one of those gay jrpg players. So basically Vander, Boucheron, Louis, Fogado, Diamant, Amber, Zelkov and hopefully Griss and Mauvier if they're playable.
-
-Troubadour who joins later then the early game cleric. They can either be good like Priscilla, PoR!Mist or Conquest!Elise or bad like L'arachel or Maribelle idc I just want them back. Bonus points if they fall into the "snobby noble who's a good person beneath their haughty exterior" trope
-
I guess the definition of modern is kinda loose. I do agree that wo4, sw 5 and dw 9 kinda lack compared to the games that came berore them though. Especially the entries that occured literally right before them
-
I still think DW 8, 8: Empires, SW 4, 4: Empires, Spirits of Sanada and WO3U are good modern musou games.
And also didn't most people actually like SW 5 from a gameplay perspective?
-
I honestly sometimes forget hero is even in 3H sometimes. It's so much less notable or worth it over other endgame classes and I think gender locking it when 13-14 heavily featured female heroes also hurt its popularity
-
you actually can see that by pressing the - button
-
Imagine if they remove gender locks but lock it behind paid dlc
-
I actually like playing as Agitha. she's not nearly as bad or hard to use as people make her out to be. At least for me. I'm probably one of the few people who use her outside the missions shes forced
-
I actually kinda liked that Hyrule Warriors incentivized you to use the whole roster. It made me appreciate every character on the roster for what made them unique and also made me feel closer to them0 outside the context of hw. Hell I played links awakening just because I really liked how Marin played. I know its not for everyone but I like using all the characters the game has to offer
Another example would be the older Dynasty and Samurai Warriors games. In Samurai Warriors 2 for example, every character has a 5 part story mode, a gaiden chapter and 2 weapons that can be unlocked after beating their story mode which means you have to play each character a minimum of 8 times for 100% completion. Some people may find that annoying but... I like it. Lets you familiarize yourself with every character and their gimmicks
-
I just had a theory but what if Cyril, Hanneman, Alois and Gilbert are kinda like the bonus characters from Samurai Warriors 5? In that they're playable but lack actual unique traits so are essentially just playable generics with unique designs? That could explain why they lack code for tacitcal abilities?

It sucks that Jean seems to be taking the Cyril route where his base growths are actually kinda bad save for speed. Kinda makes you wonder what the point of aptitude is if its just boosting his mediocre growths to average instead of making average growths above average
