  1. I tried playing Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre in the past, but for some reason they couldn't catch my interest unlike Fire Emblem. This may be a personal thing but I am not fond of the isometric view (it made the controls awkward for me, I find Fire Emblem games to be a little more streamlined in comparison. Not only that but the premise and permadeath factor of FE interest me. Does anyone feel the same?
  2. I was reading this topic:http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=57311and I noticed a lot of people were feeling quite bitter towards the changes FE13 and FE14 made to the series mostly involving the fanservice and sexualization of characters, which I agree is a problem. Anyways, what do you guys think should change in the series, especially gameplay? I think we should get rid of an Avatar, remove children unless they are necessary to the plot, and get rid of the focus on waifus.
  3. A topic similar to this was made previously: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=54407&page=1 I'm just looking for an excuse to bump this..
  4. I got into the FE series a couple years ago, pretty much from Awakening, don't judge. After doing many playthroughs on FE13, I tried out the other games in the series. I have completed FE13 and FE7 multiple times and greatly enjoyed both. I am currently playing FE4, halfway done with it. This probably would be my favorite if it weren't for the massive size of the maps. I've also played FE6 and FE8 however I do not intend on replaying those. Despite my knowledge of Fates's story through spoilers, I still intend on playing the game, planning on doing the Nohr path. I enjoy watching YouTube videos detailing random facts as well as watching Tarantino films.
  5. I did not intend for my comment to be literal. Just from a subjective view, Anon had an interesting idea that was well thought out.
  6. Please, work for IS. Or at least sell this idea to them. Clearly you spent some thought into this. Maybe you could make some sort of fangame?
  7. I know of people in the Pokemon community that constantly draw out design ideas for Pokemon (Fakemon) , but I am not seeings the same for Fire Emblem. Are there any websites out there that depict this? I am curious of other people's ideas.
  8. FE13: Chrom:Reckless- Weapons break twice as fast , however Strength stat is raised by 5. Henry: Bloodlust- +10% critical under 50% HP. Owain:Laterality- +10 Avoid, Hit, and Crit when equipped with a Sword.
  9. I honestly think they shouldn't. I mean when I played Awakening, I completely stopped using all of the 1st generation units as soon as I recruited the children. Second gen characters were virtually superior in every way and made their parents obsolete. Really no use of strategy when they were in the army. Not only that but marriage and children seemed like it belonged to Awakening.
  10. -Completely new universe. No references to past games in the series unless it's DLC. Fates kinda failed at this with its optional content. -Lower stat growths, not like what Awakening had. -A reasonable level and stat cap. Awakening had stats that capped at 60+, which could only be reached if you grinded. Fire Emblem is a SRPG, not a JRPG. Enough with the grinding, it takes away the feeling of strategy. -No more fanservice. I mean I guess it was okay for Awakening seeing as how it was an attempt to revive the franchise, but don't do it anymore. -If there's going to be second gen characters, there better not be anymore time travel or alternate universe garbage. -I would like for Arenas to return, although to prevent it from being abusable, it should be done in FE4's style. -Better AI, the enemy units should acknowledge the Weapon Triangle. Enemy units also shouldn't need to resort to attacking whenever the see the chance, that's suicidal. -Better written plot and characters. Don't make them so one-dimensional. -Better map designs that add strategic value. Really disliked Awakening on how 90% of maps were open spaces. -Limit each units' support choices in favor of better quality writing. I don't care if a unit only has 2-5 support options, if it can't be written well, you might as well shouldn't do it. -Pair up could be kept, although it should be made so it isn't a broken mechanic. -If there are customizable Avatars, there should be ways to change their personalities and skin tones. -There should be variation in mission objectives, not just routing the enemy. -Ballistae and Fog of War would be nice to return.
  11. Use your imagination: (I took this from a post I made on GameFaqs) So there's this lord, I'll call him Vert as a placeholder name, who is the youngest child in his family. Despite being royalty, Vert has had a harsh childhood due to him being regarded as weak by his older, stronger siblings. After stopping a minor bandit raid, he gets 'some' respect and slowly develops his own army over the course of several months, which he uses to stop a nearby invading country. After besieging the nation's lord and national army, he decides to replace the preious king as himself and rebuild the country. But this is just a ruse, Vert had planned all along to create a kingdom strong enough to take revenge against his family back home for berating him throughout his life for being weaker. If Fire Emblem ever had a story like this there should be some sort of loyalty mechanic, where a unit gains loyalty points depending on who was the "hero" of the chapter they were deployed. Those more loyal to Vert will side with him after becoming king and aid him in taking vengeance while those more loyal to the Avatar will side with him/her instead and rebel against Vert. If a unit had been equally loyal to both the Lord and the Avatar or hadn't developed any loyalty points to either one, whomever they side with is based on priority, akin to how Chrom's marriage options were prioritized.
