  1. Wow. Makes the gold-gathering DLC way more valuable... Thank you for the info. >.>
  2. Oh, I hadn't heard that yet... Where do you get those Eternal Seals? (And thanks for replying so fast! xD)
  3. So, I was just watching a video of someone playing the Japanese patched version when I saw that Corrin was level 75. I thought the level cap was 40? Does Corrin not have a level cap? Is there a level cap at all? I'm confused and would just like a little clarification. >.> (Hell, if anyone knows the hard mechanics of leveling I would love to know)
  4. Thanks to everyone that voted! I'm putting in my votes for the my top three... but after that I'm not going to look at the polls. >.> (I get all nervous looking at the voting numbers)
  5. I literally laughed aloud when she stalker whispered "I love you." It totally caught me off-guard. Glad I wasn't drinking. >.>
  6. I wanted to steer the conversation away from nitpicking and more about what was positive about the experience. You and Balcerzak clearly took the time to read each entry and carefully select stories - you guys are awesome. Again, just wanted to throw out observations and implore for a more supportive atmosphere.
  7. On a different note - I was half a heartbeat away from not entering. I've never written "fanfics" and I wasn't sure my style of writing would be wanted. I fretted over my entry for a long time, finally broke down and had a mod read over it, made changes based on their suggestions and... even after that, still wasn't sure if I would commit. I'm super glad that I did! This contest has been fun, a great distraction from life (and the countdown to Fates), and I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to vote (even if it wasn't for me). Even if when you're casting votes you think it doesn't matter, I know for a fact the creators watch nervously for even a single mark of approval. Thank you to anyone and everyone that voted! :3
  8. You know, the writes have a hard time already - lots of people admitted to not even reading them, some people only read some (either only the short ones, or avoiding things involving Fates) and just looking at the numbers its clear way more people were attracted to the art than reading - do we really also need to bring ourselves down with all this talk about how some were "undeserving" of attention? I mean the art section is filled with nothing but supportive comments. Even a painting that was half finished has no remark about how it "could have been done better". Yet the stories are littered with critiques and grammar corrections. Constructive criticism is great! But the people that entered aren't going back and re-writing their stories - they're already submitted to a contest. If the goal was to help them grow as a writer then criticism is good - but that wasn't the goal... the goal was to have fun with a contest and vote for the entries you liked. I know you both are passionate about the entries you like (or maybe you have entries your own you wished were receiving more votes or something) but I just wanted to put my two-cents in. This should be uplifting! Not about petty disputes... At least, that's my opinion. u,u
  9. That weaselly Zora guy? Maybe the other dancer (Nana, I think her name was in the Japanese version)? >.>
  10. Frothing at the mouth. But seriously - just catching Fates news religiously until the release date. My Gamestop mentioned that they might be doing a midnight release, so there's that...
  11. Hm - here are mine: 1. Elise I love the innocent/pure archetype. Elise is fun-loving, upbeat and never doubts or sends you away (*cough*Ryoma/Xander/Takumi/Leo*cough*). Seriously, all your brothers will fly off the deep end and disown you the moment you don't side with them but Elise never stops caring - she's loyal and true to the end, which I sometimes feel doesn't get as much credit as it should. 2. Leo Although Leo will "erase you" for siding against him, I also have a fond spot for arrogant individuals that have skills to back up their claims. I hate characters that think they're "all that" without anything to their name, but Leo clearly has talent. That and (I'm totally reading too much into this) I think he has some self-identity issues the game never wants to admit. He has a son that dresses more feminine (which he gets angry at immediately for doing so, almost like he can't stand the idea of things like that being associated with him even though no one cares and he looks like he's in denial) and is the only royal with all male retainers (including a buff dude wearing nearly see-through outfit and a bisexual sadist). I'm tellin' you - there's more to Leo than he wants to let on. 3. Xander He's leaderly and stands up for you - he's even the guy that goes snooping around his father when everyone else just kinda quits and goes on with life. I like characters that "have your back". He loses points for his anger when you don't choose him though. 4. Hinoka I like her reserved and tough personality. I wish she had more screen-time and interactions, but the ones she does have are solid. She doesn't go back on what she wants, nor does she waiver from her goals. 5. Takumi He's much like Leo, only worse... He hates you off the bat, loses his shit if you don't pick his side and is desperately overcompensating for something. He always has to mention how he doesn't trust you or insert himself into conversations as though you may have forgotten him if he doesn't speak every other line of dialogue. However, much like Leo, he has personality traits I like (arrogant, determined, talented, etc.) he just does it in a less likeable way. 6. Ryoma He's very white-bread. Not that he's white--he's clearly Asian--I mean he has barely any personality. He's a good guy who does good by his family and he's never done anything wrong in his life and also he's tall and looks like a leader and makes the ladies swoon. Nothing to really complain about, just nothing exciting either. Him being called "lobster-lord" is as close to an interesting personality as he's ever going to get, really. :p 7. Sakura She's much like Elise (and Elise is my favorite) but she's... lacking. In almost every department. She's not as loyal as Elise, or as caring as Elise, or as heartbroken when you leave as Elise, or as moe as Elise, or as cool of a unit as Elise, etc. etc. etc. I could go on--she's worse than Elise in every sense of the word (in my humble opinion - please don't kill me if you like Sakura!). Because of her lack-luster personality and skills she's basically a generic copy of Elise which adds negative on top of her mediocre performance. 8. Camilla She's just... weird. She wants to be your mother and your lover at the same time. She gives me odd vibes every step of the way, has a very bizarre personality when interacting with everyone (not just Corrin) and her facial expresses have always bothered me. I know she's always been a favorite (and I can give you two big reasons why) but she's never done anything for me besides look weird. >.> And that's that. I'll marry Elise and Leo in two of my playthroughs, but I don't know about the rest... (Well, I'll have to complete the support logs at some point... but only then.)
  12. In the Gameexplain video the guy said you can't S-Rank with Elise (only just A+) but you can with Sakura. I haven't seen evidence of this besides what he said - anyone know where I can confirm/deny this?
  13. I'm glad I went back through to look at the entries again! These look well-made and I'd love to wear one! :3
  14. The English voice acting. Some is a little off, but for the most part it's nice to hear them speak English. :3
  15. Whoa - Ike's voice really threw me for a loop. >.> But otherwise the amiibos seem awesome. I'm going to have to get me a few of them...
  16. I voted in the art section but not yet in the other... To be honest, I'm a little nervous about seeing the total number of votes my entry received. >.> (I've never done a competition like this before - it was exciting to enter but now I almost fear being judged as unworthy). I'm just being a weirdo - I'll vote before the 10th (because some entries are super awesome and the writing section definitely needs more love) but maybe I won't even look at the results... <.<
  17. Am I the only that prefers this English version of skinship? >.> It's like, inviting someone to chat and then your relationship builds. Seems logical and grounded, really. (Although, I think the best of all worlds would have been "unlocking" touching once married - because married people touch - but I think Nintendo wanted a less dating-sim mechanic for Western audiences)
  18. Well, I've looked at each piece of art, miscellaneous and read each story entry. So much talent! The hype was totally warranted - I've had fun looking at what everyone has created! That being said, I'll probably have to go over them one more time before voting. I know we have unlimited votes for the first round, but I am trying to narrow it down to the top 25 I want to see in both categories. I can't wait to see who the winner is. >.>
  19. I liked this story - the Christmas paladins (what I've always thought of the red and green pairings) are a staple of Fire Emblem! Although, I guess they're ninjas in the upcoming Fates game... I loved the dramatic rhetoric as well. Feels very Fire Emblem. :3
  20. Haha - I almost wish this had been longer, just to include a whole host of other Fire Emblem characters! (Because, seriously, these games have hundreds) and it would have been fun to guess on all of them. ^-^ I like this though - almost feels like a game.
  21. I really like this piece! Poetry is a difficult medium, but I feel you did it justice (and the source material justice) with your theme/rhyming scheme. One of the best written works in this contest, in my humble opinion. :3
  22. I love FF7 and Jaffar (along with the Fang in general) are my favorite among the game. I like seeing him with Legault - I almost just wish there were more details for the story as a whole, but otherwise I enjoyed it. :3
  23. Well, this was a different piece! I want to say the tone was comical, what with the references to actual game mechanics and whatnot, but it also came off as serious at some points. The screenplay style is something I don't see often - interesting overall.
