  1. @Integrity I look forward to Sunday. Unrelated to games going on this week, this just pisses me off: I sometimes wonder just how tight the race to the bottom is for some of these NFL teams.
  2. Our quality of life is far behind that of most of the West, and is only deteriorating further by the day. Most of our health standards are being forced back to the 70s or before. There's no interest by Trump to look into alternative energy sources. Civil rights and civil liberties are at their most bleak since 1964. And you think someone who gamed the election won't try to do it again? That a president should be able to lose the popular vote twice in a row and win the office twice? The people did not elect Trump: the states did.
  3. It's less that they have bad policies, it's just that with the way American politics operates, they would be extreme and probably expand far beyond the scope of the original goal, and probably be overall unpopular because our education system keeps teaching us that unregulated capitalism is necessary for our society to function. What we want is usually far above what we need as a country. That's why we're in such deep shit.
  4. I hope it doesn't radicalize them too much. Because that means moderates are going to be caught in the middle of a massive civil conflict between neo-fascists and democratic socialists. We recognize when the pendulum swings, but if it's gonna be violent, fast, and wide swings every time, the country will not survive.
  5. Unfortunately, the minute they start playing by Republican rules, they lose the support of moderates. They can't play hardball until after the election, lest the both sides rhetoric starts coming around and jading the center again. And it's been like this for a long time. Once the House gets a new Speaker (which I hope is soon), we might get stronger responses from them.
  6. Then the liberals need to retaliate by expanding the court to 15 like FDR wanted to. That is something the Republicans could not ignore or undo.
  7. Just as some places serve teens alcohol, so to do game companies understand that kids play their games and they actively don't warn them about the dangers of gambling. Regulation is necessary purely because of predation on children.
  8. Last night's game was rough. We won, but we left points on the field due to some whiffed kicks by Gostkowski. I think the Broncos have the potential to do well going forward, so they shouldn't worry about losing to us.
  9. We're 3 games away from this week being a wrap, people. Let's watch and see what happens ;D
  10. He literally told you to stop saying that because of what that means for minority communities. They could be killed by the thousands, and at that point sitting on your hands would just be an admission that we were defeated by fascism. Fight, don't gripe. It happened to your ethnicity, don't let it happen to his.
  11. Given certain (not so) recent events, I figured I would be the one to introduce this iteration of our wonderful yearly pastime. It should be said that we should still be civil with each other when discussing football. Even if certain people in the football fandom are gone from the community, we have to be mindful of how we conduct ourselves. To kick off actual conversation, I believe if the Titans perform all year as they did in the latter half of last season, I think they will comfortably take the AFC South.
  12. Trump pulled out the white supremacy dog whistle too early.
  13. Trump voters are mostly frequent voters. This is technically a point in Biden's favor. Don't let fear get in the way this time, and just go out and vote.
  14. Yeah, I don't see that happening purely because health and safety are political matters to that guy in DC who doesn't deserve to be named.
  15. You have to be aware that the media, regardless of bias, does not want society to transform in any way, lest they become irrelevant. Most likely, no matter what the end result of CHOP, the real consequences and information about the area will not truly be known for years. There are many conflicting and misconstrued reports about it, and none of them are truly grasping the entirety of the situation. And the lack of protection is also because the Seattle Police themselves decided to abandon the area. Regardless of what the protestors wanted, the SPD had a duty to protect them, and they were found derelict... which is the entire reason CHOP even happened. Because police don't have the best interest of their charges at all.
  16. But they coincidentally line up a lot more often than not. What the electorate or the party wants isn't the end-all be-all of politics. Sometimes politicians need to trust their judgment, even if it means breaking a campaign promise. The unfortunate thing is, that hardly happens, anymore, and as a result, voters on both sides have become cognitively dissonant in regards to what they should be asking for and what they want.
  17. Someone will pick up the torch from them. Lots of things changed for the actual Buu saga. I imagine this wouldn't be much different.
  18. His enemies have good lawyers, and federal judges stonewall him at every turn. You better believe anything he would try to do would get so bogged down in courts that by the time any progress was made whatsoever, a new President would be in office, and their AG would be directed to drop the charges and retaliate against Barr.
  19. The thing is, simple doesn't help anyone. Why worry about mass dissent if the only seriously armed groups are in your favor? Why worry about protests blowing up if state and local police are just as armed as the military and independent from it? Why pay the opposition any mind if they have to play into the fears of your base to even attempt to beat you? We don't need to worry about losing rights when they already don't work. Not to mention that they can just as easily keep people down by depriving them of money as much as depriving them of rights.
  20. There's actually a surprising amount of bad luck facing the Chiefs Sunday. Andy Reid is 1-9 against us (0-3 with the Chiefs), and the Chiefs overall are 4-8 in the playoffs.
