  1. Yeah, seems like you probably want to reclass Kagerou into something more useful. A+ with Setsuna would give her better weapons if not a better cap, and A+ with Rinkah to get her into Shura/Blacksmith seems like a solid option as well. I'm actually partial to a Hinata S-Rank so that you can get Samurai access. Swordfaire, Line of Death and Weapon Master seem good skills/class for her.
  2. I know Kamui can't A+ people, I was wondering if people could A+ Kamui. Like say Effie picking Kamui(f) for her A+. Sounds unlikely though.
  3. Can people A+ Support Kamui? Can you A+ support a character you could S-Support with, but they already have an S-Support with someone else? [i.e. Oboro has an A support with Takumi, but Takumi has an S-Support with Rinkah already. Can Oboro A+ Takumi?]
  4. I like to do no pre-promo runs and a bunch of other weird rules I've always played with [no healing items unless there isn't a healer available, some weapon restrictions, other junk] so if my list seems weird there's probably some rule at play. Boy Scouts of Hoshido FeMU: Paladin [Yato Access, movement, lances. My alt-class is Lance Fighter for Speed/Defence Seal depending on slots. Considering Hoshido/Breaking Bad/Flamboyante/Speed Seal/Swordfaire] Silas: Paladin. [i got the Lance Fighter class for him, not me. Defence Seal/Speed Seal/Breaking Bed/Wham-Bam-Flim-Flam/Luna]. Sophie: Paladin [Do you see a pattern?] [Haven't decided skills] Kanna: Guess. No, seriously, guess. Well, if I recruit him. I kind of hate Kanna's characer design. Snooze. The above might change if I decide I need more tanking, in which case FeMU will end up with a Merc-reclass and probably a Vantage/Sol set. [Thank you, Kazahana.] Silas' set will chance accordingly, possibly featuring Diamond Strike. Hana: Weapon Master Oboro: Holy Lancer [With a dip in Breaking Basara, and maybe grabbing Renewal from that Priest dude with the hair.] Takumi: Golden-Kite Warrior [Will be dipping in his Lance-Fighter Reclass] Rinkah: Shura [Takumi S-Support, I think, for a Critkah build that uses Raven Strike, Ogre Strike and the Great Club.] Hinokah: FALCON PAWNCH [Holy Lancer dabbling, once again, do you see a pattern] Orochi: Exorcist Tsubaki: Falco Knight. Kagerou: Elite Ninja [Dip in Breaking Game] Matoi: I think I can set up a good Oboro/Tsubaki that gets them both rad skills. Kaze might make it too. Azura, obviously, doing the song thing. Sakura, likely, doing the healer thing. Will I be able to train the Village Idiot into a Weapon Master of DOOM? Probably not. Seems like a bit too many character. Kanna is likeliest to be bumped off, Tsubaki will probs be obsoleted by his daughter rather than accompanied, Azura is definitely on the team because Dance Dance revolution, and Oboro might end up in Falco too for MOAR FLYING. Now that I look at it, Hinoka probably bumps the need for Sakura, staff rank notwithstanding. Edit: Might drop off Kaze after earlygame, and I probably want to fit Setsuna in here for more Bow-Users. The Badasses of Nohr I have not thought about skills as much, but I know who I'm using. FeMU Silas Sophie Lazwald Luna Odin Belka Effie Pieri Soleil Ophelia Elise [strategist] Benoit? Lots of PavSol spam, in all likelihood.
  5. ... not off the bat, which is what I'm talking about. Earlygame. Elise starts off with a D rank in Staves.
  6. I'm probably going for a Silas/Corrin S-Support just so I can get Sophie quick as possible. Probably not getting any other children unless it's easy and also viable to train them. Silly Fates, not giving me enough Cavs ): Also yeah, Seigbert exists, but that involves using Xander which I am not going to be doing on my no-second-tier runs.
  7. Talking about Harold's crit shenanigans is a little moot when Nohr doesn't make the best use of a crit optimizing build anyway, Rinkah has the best crit loadout in the game with Ogre Strike + Great Club + Raven Strike [ + Prescient Victory + Flame Blood]. Raven Strike is important to offset the Great Club loltacular 45 hit, you can probably tell I'll be setting her up with a Takumi support. Unlucky Soul's best use is honestly just letting Charlotte go ham on a female enemy, like Golden-Kites and whatnot. Pieri honestly has the flat-out best personal skill. In the FE game with the best dancer availability, getting +4 Str/Skill/Speed off a kill on player phase is huge. If you position well, refreshing Pieri is as good a job as any for Azura [if she isn't enabling flierskips, or double-healer, or something, and Pieri still benefits from those bonuses on EP.] You definitely want to set Pieri up with Lifetaker and Galeforce when you get the chance. I'm probably going to have her end up in Dark Falcon. I like Flame Blood as well, for my earlier Rinkah/Takumi shenanigans. From what I've seen I'm pretty sure the +8 Flame Blood/Prescient Victory bonuses get multiplied in the crit, so Rinkah should be exploding things on Player Phase if used well. Nohr-Hater is cool for similar, pure damage output reasons and Oboro might have a better claim on the Takumi support [i plan to ParaSeal Takumi to Lance Fighter early for Defence Seal] but Critkah sounds too sexy to give up just yet. Berkah's Ambush Duty also intrigues me. Given that she has access to one of the few sources of ranged weaponry that can double [Tomes] as well as the psuedo-brave-weapon Lightning, Ambush Duty + Overbearing + Devilish Wind support could make her a really good Revenant Knight, with 1-2 tanking on EP and explosive damage output on PP. She doesn't quite come with the best Mag and Spd growths though, but depending on what the promo bonuses are like it could work out on Lunatic's Fixed Mode with a Forge and the appropriate support. I'll have to see. None of these post-promo useful skills have quite the off-the-bat craziness of Pieri's Killer Instinct, though. Also, OP, wtf are you going on about with Silas' skill being junk, while simultaneously seeing praise for the modest bonuses provided by the Royals' personal skills? Let me put this in perspective. Mysterious Appeal + Friendship Oath means a Silas buddied up with Corrin in Attack or Guard stance gets +5 damage dealt/-5 damage recieved. Setting it up so we also proc Open Assault [we may not have the choice of cover if the choke point is just bare] means +8/-5. Finally, if we want hardcore tanking, bring in your praised Elise with her Beautiful Flower bonuses. Silas/Corrin in Guard Stance with Silas in the lead now has +9 damage dealt, -8 damage recieved, and Jav access. Seeing Corrin at sub-half health and buddying him up with Silas for a turn or two for a more efficient tanking unit [silas is the best candidate to ferry Corrin too if Corrin needs to get places] is hardly a sub-par strategy, and one that is available very quickly early-game [you just need a C support for mysterious appeal, which you'll get since Corrin and Silas are both melee units and Silas can pull taxi duty.] You even have dragon form on Corrin for reliably tanking a bit and performing a useful function while getting into sub-50% without dying. Admittedly, Sakura supports the TANK OF FRIENDSHIP better than Elise, since she can both heal and provide her -2 damage skill at 2-range. Hinoka can also fly over for some Encouragement. Lol, Friendship Oath being useless ...
  8. See, I prefer "Renegade" to "Tool". Someone determined to do good, but with their own take on it, someone who feels it's okay to do morally questionable things sometimes in order to serve a better end-game. Sort of like making tough decisions: I'm surprised more FE games haven't had you build up units, then necessitate a sacrifice to get a certain progression or move the story forward. Would make it a lot darker and greyer.
  9. I'm honestly more concerned with map variety than I am with chapter goals. A chapter can have a defeat boss goal, but how easy does that make it? Can I fly a bosskiller at it and two-turn? Can I ship my team close, tank a bunch of enemies, then ship a healer over and then finish the boss? If the boss is flanked by attack stance flunkies, how many people and what sort of approach will I need to mop up the boss in one turn? Hint to everyone: if your Silas gets RNG screwed, START THE GAME OVER. You're going to need that bad boy.
  10. I just heard that hire difficulties have the Seal skills on enemies [Of course, why did I think that wouldn't be a thing], ignoring class restrictions, and now I am mildly ticked :P
  11. I'm probably gonna carry forged iron into lategame rather than Silver. But who knows.
  12. Sounds reasonable. Except maybe the enemies tripling in Hoshido. That should at least make boss-rush interesting.
  13. I'm actually relieved, that makes it a bit more balanced. Hmm, it might not be as ubiquitous as I thought in that case. Sounds like a "Summon more firepower when needed" sorta deal.
  14. Can anyone weigh in one what the Lunatic difficulty scaling is like? a) Increased numbers of enemies? b) Are the stat increases overkill or fair-ish? c) Are there a few really tougher-than-average enemies, or are all the enemies very tough? d) Forged weapons on enemies? e) What are enemy skills like? Are there any enemy-exclusive skills? f) Do we see a lot of 1-2 range weaponry [The enemy-only Throwing Swords and stuff I've seen listed on the serenes page for Fates?] g) Do map conditions change? Fog of War?
  15. Oh, right, Copycat. I briefly wondered if I would take everyone who could take a level in Puppetmaster through that level just to get that skill, before realizing 'Sacrificeable Unit copies that I don't have to train, available at a level where I don't have to worry about EXP.' Yes, I will be creating my ultimate copyspam army :P Just thinking about Draconic Curse + Nohr shenanigans with KamuiClone is enough to set one's tactical heart aflutter. [A-Support Kaze, Buddy Seal, you can have two Kamuis regardless of route.] Wait ... Azura ... Kaze ... Marriage Seal ... Puppet Dancer? O.O
  16. Part of the game balance, live with it. Samurais aren't quite defined by their crits anymore. Look at Kazahana's strength growths. Samurais can double, do solid damage and dodgetank, are PP-oriented (as made obvious by skills like Line of Death and Flowing Strike) and backup the front lines.
  17. Totally reclassing him to a lance fighter.
  18. Hey, defeat boss is my jam I like doing the whole break ranks, make a beeline for the head of the snake thing. Makes planning out speedy strats easier than routs. Not exactly an LTC nut and I definitely fall more on the casual side of things but I do despise playing the game at a snail's pace.
  19. iSneakSometimes. Not a fan. At one point he put his Orochi next to a weakened Cav, thus avoiding an Attack Stance [Kaze had weakened the Cav at Melee range], and thereby failing to OHKO the Cav by exactly the amount of damage Kaze would have done, and eating half his health in damage from an unnecessary counterattack. The next turn the second Cav that was literally five spaces away nearly killed Orochi. Sighhhhhhhhh. Damn near quit right there.
  20. ... Now I *really* want Galeforce on Pieri.
  21. I do know that Hoshido does not have 1-2 range physical Naginatas which blows my fucking mind. Nohr seems to have the overall upper hand in weapons, but maybe I'm calling it too quickly. What do people think of a debuff strat? The Holy Lancer's Defense Seal and Speed Seal debuffs blow my fucking mind, a Parallel Seal'd Takumi and Oboro could poke things on PP and EP and make PP cleanup significantly easier. Kaze and Kagerou could spread more of the love in Hoshido while Hana, Rinkah, Silas perform PP clean-up and Hinoka/Tsubaki can do flier things :P Basically an advancing formation that moves carefully and has an overall strat of setting up PP kills, but there isn't enough healing to go around without reliable tanking. Hinoka also gets Holy Lancer, so you might want to swap your debuffer around while keeping an eye on EP exposure ... Either way I'm pretty sure Oboro gets dibs on my first Master Seal since Holy Lancer speed seal is level *5*, holy cow. Btw, that club with the ridic 55 crit and 45 hit - how early do you get it and does Rinkah hit with it reliably? I'm planning on having her Marriage seal up with Takumi for Flame Blood + Prescient Victory shenanigans [she can't get Axefaire in Hoshido ...] I'm going to want Ogre Strike for her, so if she misses with the thing half the time I'll also make sure to get her Raven Strike and explode things on PP. If Res is crap then Orochi probs benefits a lot from debuffs too, since I think her Mag is ridic. Funny thing, Kagerou has high str growths and gets innate Breaking Sky and Kunaifaire access, so I don't even know if I want her to be a debuffers or a cleaner :P Sounds like no-second-tier runs will be tricky. And isn't Dread Fighter InvisiKingdom-exclusive? Still leaves the other two route Kamuis in the cold. I can envision myself switching to drake mode a lot when I need a clutch thank. Wonder if I should get Kamui a Holy Lancer alt too ... Tbh I was surprised the forum wasn't freaking out over the Lance Fighter class skills. I figured they would make PP, bosskilling and in general life, easier. Thoughts?
  22. Thank you! Just the answers I've been looking for. I am watching an [excruciatingly painful to watch] LP of Fates and I noticed the dude likes to Guard Stance up his entire army, thus reducing his unit count and murdering his army's offensive capabilities. I wondered if the bonuses he got were just meh because it was earlygame and he doesn't keep an eye to putting supporting units together all the time, but it sounds like this time they realized they need to scale the bonuses down. Guard stance to man chokepoints so as not to be overwhelmed sounds about right, esp. since the 1-2 weaponry tend to give a +5 to enemy's doubling ability. You probably don't want to be attack stanced into oblivion and need a +Spd pair-up. Also, nice Incredibles reference, gayserbeam. I just saw that movie again today!
