  1. The personal skills are indeed determined by the routes the players are on. I found this site a while back that has a list of the possible skills for each route combination, here. (Japanese) The name/skill combinations of all 7 bond units I've gotten have been consistent with the site, so I'd say chances are good it's reliable. Further tests would be helpful though.
  2. Just going to echo the previous sentiments and say they would have been better if one could save between them. It is especially frustrating in Nohr Lunatic, where the final chapter is nearly impossible unless you trained Mozume along with a mounted Pass unit and/or saved all your Vanished Disaster baton uses. Ch. 27 Nohr is short and easy to the point of being a mere formality but I shouldn't have to play it again just to get another chance at the brutally difficult final.
  3. Yes, the gold statues stack. If you have the patience to grind out a lot of them, you can create some stupid-high stat caps in this way.
  4. I figure this is a stretch but I might as well ask; anyone have a Zero with the Extravagance skill?
  5. Yes to both. They will not be subject to perma-death in casual. They get recorded to the logbook when recruited so even in classic you can always just buy them back if you have the gold to spare. Aside from those two, Daniela: Deadly Breath Kumagera: Magic Counter, Swallow Strike, Raven Strike Senou: Magic Seal, Lucky Seven, Effective Medicine Vashara: Sol, Magic Counter, Pass Everyone else either has no skills, or standard skills for their class.
  6. My experience with this game's PvP is somewhat limited (I'm actually in the process of building a squad at the moment), but I think it goes without saying that is not going to played seriously by more than a small niche group of players, and as such will not have the wide range of thoughts and perspectives to fairly determine what's broken and needing of bans for some kind of standard meta. For general matchmaking purposes around here the "No rules" list makes the most sense for this kind of game, being the most inclusive and easy to understand without forcing players to change how they play through the single player. Telling someone they can't use the characters they want because they used a Boots on them during the campaign is a nice way to ensure that they'll be sticking with the game's random matchmaker. Ultimately I don't think any kind of standard needs to be agreed upon. If any players take issue with free-for-all's there's always the option to gentlemen like-minded players to whatever rules they want. For games like this with such a small base of players, I can can't see how imposing a complex rule set will do anything more than inhibit potential growth. Edit: apparently the issue of buying skills came up while I was typing this. Restricting such a significant component of the My Castle feature isn't really wise, given how it barely changes what skills are obtainable in a single player run (you can buy your own skills from other files as well, just play multiple times through to get what you want), and only serves to make team building more of a grind than it already is...
  7. I missed out on Hisame. Nothing personal or anything, Hinata was simply the last one left after all my pairings were done. I'm still holding on to the near non-existent possibility that the reason Anna was left out of the original release was because IS caught on to this little issue too late to do anything about it right there and then. So with intentions to fix it later, Anna's paralogue was taken out in order to give her a proper support list while they work on the rest of the DLC (making her more like Mozume, the other paralogue exclusive character). ...It's nice to want things, anyway. =(
  8. Thanks for checking that for me! I'll have to nab one of those whenever I get around to playing Lunatic. I'm a little more interested in those throwing Irons, Steels, and Silvers the enemies sometimes carry. =(
  9. So because I'm a weirdo who's interested in leveling generics, I'm curious to know what kind of skills are possible on generic Lancers. Their class doesn't get any, so they're stuck with whatever they come with + DLC skills. So far I have found Defense +2, Confined Defense, Strength +2, Cut Through, Open Assault, and Underdog. These were on Normal, so I was wondering if anyone had a Lunatic file they could test and see what they come with on skirmishes.
  10. Your first two were answered so I'll take a crack at these. 3) No. If you have the resources they want when you scout them you can make them join on the spot, otherwise you can try convincing them to join once per battle. Weaker captures will join after only one or two tries, but stronger, promoted enemies and bosses might take a while. 4) They have decent growths and stats but are otherwise inferior to normal units due to lack of supports and class/skill options. Haitaka is notable for being obtainable fairly early (Ch 9 I think?), and he comes with Defense Rally, a great skill to have at that point in the Nohr campaign. Being a Lance Fighter he gets amazing skills in general, and can put in serious work as both a utility and combat unit. Senou (obtainable in Ophelia's paralogue) is by far the best for postgame, being the only one with access to Copycat Puppet. They'll retain their voices but they won't have any lines when leveling up and won't show up anywhere in My Castle.
  11. Anyone know if a certain setting needs to be enabled in order for other players to visit my castle, or if having multiple save files will affect which castle they will see/visit? I ask because I find it a bit unusual that my castle seemingly hasn't had a single visitor in about 3 days despite me visiting and giving away accessories to well over 100 during this time span (a lot of whom offered return visits). I've been trying to make a bond unit, and I just want to make sure everything's running smoothly on my end. EDIT: Nevermind, found a solution while poking around 2ch threads: Basically if you're in the situation were you're not receiving anything when you should be, just close the 3DS while the game is running for about 10 minutes. Then open it again and get into a skirmish, castle battle, or any action that will trigger the world to update (indicated by a message on the bottom-right corner of the screen after said action). The problem should be fixed after inspecting your castle's blue orb and updating.
  12. Couldn't find the answer to this anywhere on the site. How many generic units can one have recruited at any given time? I was hoping to make a team full of the captured boss units.
  13. You're right; I just assumed he could since they're both shared characters. Nice to know that Gurei is an option though, thanks! I'll have to keep this one in mind when I get around to playing the DLC, thanks! Ryoma looks solid. I was initially thinking that units with Line of Death should be going all out with offense skills in tandem with it so as to take out the enemy before they even get a chance to counterattack, but on the flip side Ryoma gets reliable 1-2 range so he'll almost never be put in situations where enemies will take advantage of a free +10 to their damage output.
  14. Here's what I got so far (Invisible Route), along with a brief explanation for each: I wasn't too concerned about inherited skills as this will be a grinding playthrough and I can purchase most of what I'll miss at other castles. Skills do play a part in a few of them mainly for the less common ones to make life a little easier for me; stats and class access are more important. All these factors to consider almost makes me miss Awakening, where the only thing that truly mattered was getting Galeforce to as many kids as possible lol
  15. Would a "Rate my pairings" (from an optimization standpoint ofc) post be appropriate in this thread, or is there a better place to discuss that?
