  1. @Landmaster Good girl Sakura supporting her friend! I'm using to seeing Zeo's Serra rock the double Brazen build, but Elise just brings it to new levels of silliness. If I see another person doing it I may just have to have Nanna join the party. Been looking forward to this GHB, and was happy we got reinforcements to make it a little more interesting. I only realized after I was prepping to record that I forgo buffs entirely. I guess even with reinforcements this wasn't too bad.
  2. I don't think I've been this excited for a GHB in a long time. Aside from the two from 3H, none of them have been actual villains this year, and then those two were released before I knew much of anything about them. While Astram was fun I knew deep-down I wasn't going to make a project of him. Kempf though...I've wanted them to add this glorious man since the game's launch. I have more than enough sword and grail projects, but I'll have to make room for one more. That Prf looks jank and fun as hell, and the 11th can't get here soon enough.
  3. @mcsilas Another very unique clear! The beginning was pretty hilarious - aside from Python, everyone mentioned something about sleep, and then Haar's yawn to top it off haha. Was that coincidence, or did you have to restart the recording a few times to get that right? =P
  4. Good work tackling this one! I maintain that Yune's Abyssal map is one of the hardest they've released so far, and going with the "Ultimate [Character]" + three support units is probably the easiest way of clearing it. Matt seemed well up to the task, but I was always very impressed with Eliwood's performance! From my own experience I really appreciate that he's not just a support unit. He's armed to the teeth with just a couple modifications to his base kit, as yours demonstrated with the special proc against the Axe armor, and again one-shotting the Thief. I really liked the music choice too - I've heard it before, but can't quite remember where it's from. After failing this map the first two times it came around with conventional tactics, I had to resort to a similar Ultra-character strat, going with a super cheesy Bonus Doubler, Raudrblade + L!Eliwood bonus doubler Julius set up. Maybe I'll post it next time Yune's map rolls around...
  5. That story trailer was...disappointing, to the say the least. The aesthetic screams generic fantasy MMO, and I'm not a fan at all. A bunch of new attractive female OCs as our free unit and future summoning bait is very reminiscent of the book 2 intro, and serves as a stark reminder of the type of game I'm playing. I could look past some of this if there was some expectation of the story being good, but Heroes doesn't have the best track record so far. I'm really looking forward to everything else though. Another Thracia banner is a pleasant surprise, even if the game is getting less characters than banners usually get nowadays. Freaking Kempf man, can't say no to that. Osian is also long overdue. Mjolnir Strike looks fun - it seems the game is confident enough to start exploring the defend objective again.
  6. It's incredible just how strong Nowi continues to be even today. That was impressive surviving Altina even though she only had 17 Hp! That must have taken a while to get right. Thanks! Finish him up for sure. If I ever pull a spare Death Blow 4... Nowi seems to be a popular choice for these! No doubt she appreciated all the Marth buffs too. Alm missing the kill by 1 on the red flyer was kind of a bummer, but thankfully it didn't really wind up mattering. Very good positioning all around. Nanna really was the star this time around, surprisingly. I'm a biased, but I'd definitely recommend merging her up if you're looking to make a +10 healer that you (hopefully) shouldn't have to break the orb bank for. First off, I approve of the thumbnail. I love the raw killing power of the units you tend to use. Celica's quadding Slaying Edge is so satisfying, and Kagero consistently one-rounding 80+ enemies without the benefit of WTA will never stop being impressive. That poor green tome cav can never catch a break... Well, I try to anyway lol Good work keeping Yune towards the center for most of the battle to apply those debuffs. It felt like they went a long way towards making this map much easier. Takumi was kept very busy, and he did well to one-round Altina at the end!
  7. Too good relative to what? It's two orbs, a character, and currency easily obtained elsewhere for two dollars less than the $5.99 pack. For the two times this sort of event has been done since the game's launch, I don't think it's unreasonable.
  8. I really cannot understand why IS doesn't offer more character + orb packs similar to the BK deal. The Tharja pack is cheaper than I thought it would be, but I still don't think she's worth $30. Most of that price comes from the 50 orbs anyway, and I could do without those in an instant if I could get the character affordably. The Roy pack is useless to anyone who isn't already spending that kind of money on this game. Now if they offered something like say, Winter Robin + some orb pocket change for $5.99 on top of the other three deals, that might be a little more enticing. The whales will buy that too, and they would get a lot more people to open their wallets who might otherwise not have (myself included).
  9. A quick clear using my usual Abyssal squad: Excuse the German text - I'm trying to jot down a bunch of character dialogue and I didn't want to change it back just for the recording. You should be able to still tell what's going on. I forgot to show it, but Reinhardt with a +6 Atk buff and Dragon Fang charged leaves Altina at exactly 1 Hp, hence Nanna having to chip her first. That was kind of annoying...
  10. Two reasons I can think of. We know that it takes a while between the decision for a character to be added, and their eventual debut. Roughly six months is often put forth as the time frame, and that seems reasonable. Three Houses is closing in on its fourth month anniversary. There hasn't been enough time elapsed yet to implement more than they've done so far. Of course, they could have planned ahead and prepared to release many more characters long before the Three Houses' launch, but that's where the second reason comes in. IS hedged their bets. The success of Three Houses was not a forgone conclusion, and it is possible they did not want to spend so much time and money implementing characters they couldn't be sure were going to sell. Worst case scenario the game bombed, and IS would have been stuck with a bunch of characters in their release pipeline that no one wants. I guarantee we will be seeing quite a bit of Three Houses content next year.

It looks like Gray was flexing on a lot more than just the green cavs. =P It's a good thing Shiro's Def Tactic wasn't working on your team's infantry units, otherwise, he couldn't have survived the Brave Axe guy. You can never go wrong with a Brave Bow Archer in these kind of maps. However I was most impressed with Micaiah's performance in clearing out the cavalry mages, giving everyone else the space they needed. Karla's sighs of exasperation went so well with those bad battle forecasts, haha. It's rare to see Legendary Lyn doing anything besides providing Spd Tactic buffs to allies for these kind of maps, but somehow you're able to get her what, six kills? She did well.
  12. Tibarn had his pick of litter 2nd turn, but...I certainly wasn't expecting that target. Whatever one has to do to get rid of that Ignis. Gerik taking three hits from the armorslayer guy was pretty impressive - good thing he was +Def! Good on you for letting Brady get at least one kill. x) Comparing the Ross you used to Zeo's...is this one of those "duality of man" examples? Still, he did more than I thought he would, getting Cormag to waste the Ignis on him. Tibarn was the star of the first clear, and now Caineghis leads the way in the third. These beasts are just too strong, haha.

She's poor against physical melees yeah, but I think her matchups against ranged melee isn't too terrible. +10 Merge +5 DF will have 26 Def, which improves to 32 with buffs, and then 40 + enemy buff negation with DD4 (maybe it's different in tier 26/27, but this is the optimal A-skill for range tanks imo). Not the best, but serviceable enough to tank a round against most of the ranged melee threats. Especially with 58 Hp on top of it. There are better options in Astra, for sure.
  14. Indeed, I was kind of disappointed there wasn't. The GHBs like Takumi, Garon, Gharnef, etc, are always the most fun. Looks like you had the same idea to have a green mage blow up half the map with little effort. =P It was nice of Nowi to make sure the bridge was safe for Elises' return home. CC is the one skill I always wish I had more of, perhaps more so than DC. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been built into a weapon yet. That is wild Ross build you have! You can't go wrong with +20 true damage. He's going to be a monster after you get him some merges and dragonflowers.
  15. I've been feeling a bit cynical about IS as a company lately. While I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of their latest games, I have mixed feelings about their direction. This is a Heroes board so I won't get into much detail, but I am not at all a fan of the whole "play the game three times to get one satisfying story" model that the last two non-remakes have pushed. Especially if half the game is going to be more or less identical across all the routes. I have the same dissatisfaction with the way they've handled DLC/micro-transactions thus far. I've bought a lot of it, and I've regretted it almost every time. If it's not superfluous fluff, it's ridiculously overpriced. Looking at you, Echoes. As for Heroes itself, it's interesting that this topic was made when it was for me. I woke up this Tuesday morning, looked at my phone, and realized that it was time to play Arena - and actually try. Same for AA. And Allegiance Battles. And god-damned Aether Raids. I got a sense of dread not unlike what I might experience on a Sunday night thinking about the upcoming work week. It's a big red flag that I need to take a step back, but I probably won't. I still get very excited about new banner reveals/drops, and I want to feel like I'm "ready" when something I really want makes it in. But Christ I'm tired of feeling shackled by the weeklies. To end on a more positive note, I'm very appreciative of the changes made to new hero banners lately, and I appreciate that IS is willing to take, and actually implement, user feedback.
  16. Super fast clear for me too. Since the map was based on Cormag's Ephraim-route joining chapter, I was hoping for reinforcements to make it a bit more interesting. Oh well... Loptous would have been the better weapon choice here, but an easy GHB gives us the chance to show off Julius's new AR toy.
  17. A 4 orbs very well spent! That's the exact nature I used as the base for mine before this banner dropped the first time around.

I considered stopping and maybe waiting until he got on a 3-unit banner, but there's no telling when that will be, plus after so long of not summoning it got hard to stop lol There's no way he'll be on a legendary banner for a looong time. Too many red units ahead of him in the queue, both regular and seasonal. And then the rate would actually be even worse. Indeed. Despite the steep cost, I am very grateful to have some really nice fodder for the dupes I don't need/want to merge (Idunn, Owain, Mareeta), plus some neat new units to train. I probably pulled like 10 Selena too, and those are almost every bit as good.
  19. And I'm glad you did! Definitely a lot more wholesome than mine haha. Good music choice too - the chapter 2 theme is so good, and works well with a Leif + parents reunion. I'm glad to see the -Atk doesn't bother Deidre too much the couple times I've seen you use her. As a unit she has aged considerably well.
  20. @Zeo Those are some spectacular pulls, congrats! Keep saving, and good luck on Lyn's revival banner! I only wish I could have pulled Ewan so effortlessly. I was hoping not to have to dig too deep into my orb stash, but pulling red on a 4-unit banner is always risky business, and has been historically bad for me. Sure enough, it took all my tickets and over 700 orbs before getting a sole copy of Ewan. ~1,180 saved orbs down to 450. My overall 5* yield was great - no complaints there. They just weren't what I was looking for. Before Ewan, I was pity-broken by the following: Laevatein x2 Karla Flying Olivia Keaton Ophelia Gerik Tethys Owain Idunn Mareeta I also picked up my first Norne. Raudrserpent will be a tome I use almost everyday, so ultimately I still think it was worth it. The lesson for me here is, short of an OP Narcian or Julius alt, I never want to pull red on a 4-unit banner ever again. Damn.
  21. Raudrserpent is finally here! Trying to pull a red focus on a four-unit banner is kind of shaky, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. I need that tome.
  22. As an East-coaster I much prefer it this way. Having banner drops and VG rounds end at 10pm instead of 11 is so much more manageable and easier on my sleep schedule.

  24. @Landmaster Looks like the Elise squad are well equipped for even the Abyssal maps! The swimsuit and hot springs variants are always more powerful than I expect. Good work trapping that poor blue mage knight. x) I hemmed and hawed a bit over whether I would even record/post a clear for this one, but we don't often get Jugdral battles like this, and what better battle way to begin Nanna's +10 career than against legendary Leif? She didn't get to do as much as I would have hoped, but...we went through the effort, might as well post. I will say that I have greatly overlooked the potential for AOE specials for PvE content like this. So much time spent planning around a big special proc against a certain enemy, when I could have just tried them instead.
