  1. Yep, the pun names were the best part for me.
  2. Just out of curiosity Sir Axis, but was the 5 crit on spears intentional, or an oversighted leftover?
  3. As long as there is money, there will be moneymen. So until FE15 takes it away.
  4. Yeah, I meant Reisen, sorry. Well, that's what Reisen wants you to think, Mark, so I guess it'd be fair game for ragefesters to make up their own semisensible explanation. Did not spending the moneyman have any consequence, apart from how Sir Axis might chose to continue the plotline in RagefestiVal?
  5. Should've used a Samson plot device to justify Sophia's uncharacteristic powerlessness.
  6. I still think it would've been viable to, instead of weakining him alluring to his powder issues, force the non-endgame Black Knight a locked "Mercy", as no-one but Ike is truly worthy of his blade. It also makes for a uniquely interesting factor to build your plans around and makes the desert map in part V not an EXP race against him.
  7. Is there a point to Balberith giving +3 Str instead of simply weighting 3 less points? Unlessit it is regarding stealing. The only thing that concerns me now is Dark not having any ranged option. And that would affect Izuka's difficulty as well. Maybe Nosferatu could be only 1 range, and trade that for a further increase in its might. On a whole other tangent, what would you think of giving all chapter (main) bosses the "use big camera angle" hidden skill, the one used by the dragon king and the godess?
  8. Out of curiosity, but could the user make the necessary modifications so that the crit roll is done (and the crit animation played if successful) before the hit roll? My main interest in having crits able to miss is that, while the chance of a hit crit remains unchanged, waiting for the hit to happen or not will be even tenfold tenser, specially if it's an enemy with low accuracy that starts a crit animation.
  9. I can see how Drunkyjoe will be the main character in some RagefestV submission.
  10. I dunno, but RNG-rigging aside, Marc's way seemed pretty straight-forward to me. In fact, one thing that stands out from this hack (compared to other ragesfest submissions) is how straightforward it is: the only "unexpectfest" moment was the trojan infection. The Lucky tome is the only element I can't figure out whether it had any use or not. It seemed to be able to deal exact OHKO damage to Moneyman's final form, which is kinda suspicios when you start with max level and so all your stats are known to the romhacker, but nothing told you it wouldn't backfire. One thing about the plothole: maybe that's why it said not to change the savefile player's name from Madnight, because that name was what the message "(Player's name) accepted the ??? gold to let Moneyman respawn". So it was meant to mean that Madnight being bribed to alloow it, not you (otherwise you'd get gold to buy at those shops each time he respawned).
  11. And that's not even mentioning skills based around Str/Mag stats.
  12. I wouldn't tag the endgame recruits as "Forced", what with them bringing their own extra deployment slot along with them, and only if hey're recruited in the first place. Shame Blackie technically has no endgame potential, as I'd give him an 11. Now that's a valid concern. It still doesn't convince me (Dark magic's gotta feel more exotic than that, and Sanaki has to envy SOMETHING that Micaiah has and she lacks), but I'll understand if you keep that decision. And after all, in the acse that you don't get/bring Pelleas to endgame, I don't see how you'd want Yune to bless anything but Balberith for Micaiah, considering it's gonna have the triangle advantage over all the spirits (though disadvantaged against Lehran and Ashera's AoE attacks).
  13. Well, maybe this'll start a trend of starting videos with a "This is a personal non-profit modification of a nonprofit personally-made backup of a GBA cartridge of my legal property blablabla" disclaimer.
  14. I'd say you make all your videos private until the storm passes and their PR slaps whatever uninformed midboss decided it'd be a good idea to do this, if you'll feel better, except for Ragefest IV's so you can keep doing it and people can watch them, and you probably still have copies of the finsihed videos in your computer.
  15. Interesting idea on element-dependant magic range. Though if it has to benonly a specific distance, I'd rather Thunder be 2 range instead of 1, else Ilyana's gonna have to borrow one of Nephenee's metal skirts. Shame magic users can't use knives like in PoR, else you could've had even more fun tampering with that and adding who can use them into the balancing equation. I really doubt there won't be a bug if you try modding a sage use knives, but who knows if there's any unused legacy animation. If she Can SS every other magic type, then maybe it wouldn't be necessary to make Sanaki able to use Dark Magic, least of all SS-rank it. It would fall very in line with her being a "holy" figure in a "holy" empire and whatnot, plus you already have Micaiah and Pelleas (I'm assuming you're balancing things assuming Second Playthrough, as one can just download a completed savefile). I'm already not 100% okay with Soren being able to SS-rank it too, but oh well, I van concede him making a spirit pact in the past when under tutelage. I'm all for some plot editing for things like unforcing Sothe into endgame. Depending on your proficiency you might even want to consider moving Micaiah's third tier promotion to the beggining of Part 4 too (and if you do you might even consider delaying her aqcuisition of a Dark Magic weapon rank to her tier 3 class instead of tier 2, as her being possesed by the "dark" goddess is a much more suitable explanation even for a sudden high rank than her recieving classes from Pelleas).
  16. The resolve thing is a translation issue, as it does indeed acticate at 20% in the japaneese version. In NTSC-U and PAL it activates at 50%.
  17. Haven't had the chance to play yet (I'm directly waiting for the smaller patch for parts 1&2), but speaking about bonds: How'bout moving the two laguz bandits' bosses (Pain and Agony I think) so that they can take advantage of their (already existent) bond support? I don't know how to feel about Armors not having the standardmovement penalty on ledges... armors bulldozing through bushes unimpeded and light-clothed mages climbing faster (better not to think why not thieves too), sure. Armors with less penalty through water... well, if it's shallow enough so horses can cross, then ok. But the armored climbers just seems a bit silly, balance aside. Did you apply the same changes to the Black Knight? I recall him being a separate class regarding terrain movement cost too.
  18. Remember to also upload the patch as just the modified FE10Data and co. files. I've been having issues using a patcher, but I'm confident I can just Wiiscrub the individual files into my iso.
  19. True that, Deghinsea's Black Breath might not be the best example. What I first thought of was Kurth having acceess to also White Breath, which would be more effective against Red Dragons, and Red Breath, more powerful yet less precise than Black Breath. And if it worked, then maybe ALL dragons could have both Red and White variants. Enemy AI would choose the most effective one anyway, but at least Nasir could do something against them Spirits. And sure, there's potential in re-speccing the Great Talon/Beak so that instead of royal upgrades they're are a sidegrades to the "normal" Strikes (like, as an example, turning the Great Beak into a brave weapon, but making it give a speed or defense penalty to the wielder, if that's possible).
  20. Does anything funny happen if you, say, add a second Breath strike weapon to Kurth's inventory, like White Breath, or his father's version of Black Breath? I'm really not expecting the game to let you get away with that, but there's the remote possibility that it might result in laguz being able to choose with what Strike (of their race) they attack.
  21. Well, if you can't find his data in the in-engine cutscenes of 1-1, then he probably has none and that is just a generic Armour Lance. Now I wonder though, can an enemy unit placed just outside the map's grid proc their skills? If Jarod was at the edge of the grid and an Armour Lance with ABSGUARD was outside the grid and adjacent to Jarod, you wouldn't need to worry about totally-Alder (you can't put to cursor on him to check he's not) being in your range.
  22. Small question, does Alder have his own unit entry, that is, can he be placed on a map? I just tested to confirm that the hidden ABSGUARD skill from Lehran's spirits procs 100% of the time (Edward took all the fatal hits from Micahia except when they would miss her), and wondered if it could be used in 1-9 in an interesting way to match the story. -Change the terrain so that Jarod can only be attacked at range (so Alder can't be attacked from range). -Change Jarod's AI so he doesn't attack during the enemy turn (as GUARD doesn't protect from counterattacks. Canon justification is that he's shitting bricks from BK). -Place Alder adjacent to Jarod, behind him, where he can't be attacked. -Give Alder ABSGUARD. -Change whatever's gotta be changed so the chapter ends when Alder, and not Jarod, dies.
  23. I think it'sd better to make this clear now rather than later: Will you implement Normal and Hard Redux as a single patch, or will you make separate patches, both affecting the game's "Normal"? I'm asking this regarding the weapon triangle (and the enemy range checker).
