  1. Any news, DLuna? I like hearing about your progress and any balancing dilemmas that may have arisen from time to time.
  2. Am I right in assuming that the player units' growths in Tactical Nonsense are fixed (that is, either 0% or 100%)? If so, then I must congratulate dat boi for how well calculated the enemy stats are - there are multiple instances (like the tomahawk pirate vs matthew, and mage vs jerry had the sweeping archer decided to attack him) where you could've very well have been left with only 1HP (had you full HP first), avoiding death only thanks to the previous levelup. Seems like the bait-n-switchy part was all bait to slow you down to your death.
  3. Dolphin’s experience seems to confirm that it can be beaten through different strategies, which is a very good thing for a difficult hack. Only one critique from me that Mark hasn’t mentioned yet - I understand that, while light in plot and dialogue, the hack wasn’t meant to be humorous - but I was expecting at leas one mention of how the victory was all thanks to the boulder haviang a dancing harem (and the fan-swinging recruit). That’s the fanart that needs to come out of this, I tell you.
  4. So I'll be the one to ask, wolfrie - would the ending had been different had he not killed any of those three by turn 4 or whenever it autoended?
  5. Level design-wise, it seems the best way to go would've been going south first but then going up at the middle to face the siege weebshit directly. And the armorknights spawning from the top seemed like a timer.
  6. Loving the sound for the horses moving. Mark missing cutscene tips and thus not knowing what to do? Classic ragefest at its finest, what a fitting start.
  7. Yeah, what would be the most useful would be a retrospective mentioning and briefly describing without going into much detail every previous RF submission, as well as other majorly known hard non-RF hacks referenced across them (like your Corroyption). You could do one for everything pre-RF4 and one for RF4 submissions. Then, after you play all the RFV submissions, you could do one for RFV while your memory is fresh so you don't have to do it at the start of RF6. In fact, you could release RFV's at the start of the voting for RFV, so people have somthing to remind them of every submission (given how many there are) before deciding, and you could show any fanart about RFV there while the video plays. Also, maybe you could ask the ragefest submitters to include in the credits the name of all romehacks they reference, but it's a bit late for that now (they may still wish to do that in a .txt file for the post-RFV release versions).
  8. I'm placing my bets on Name from Author - I wanna see what they hacked into Engine.
  9. I just follow RD ReDux and watch the occasional Ragesfest, so...
  10. You could make Inspire a scrollable skill, but not the other two, if the +10 Spd stack is a concern but locking it on a non-endgame-mandatory unit eould make it virtually undismissable. Since it's such a strong skill, I'd personally give it as the free skill on a unit you would normally not think of bringing to endgame due to replacing it with another similar unit, or on an unit you can use through a good chunk pfmthe game, as one of the themes of RD with its huge army size and divisions is to enjoy using units through the journey and not just on the destination. For instance, if only Skrimir were to have it and for free, but Giffca and Caenhigis were to be slightly bettr than him stats-wise, then you could still make good use of Skrimir through part 4 (and his support of both green and blue units in part 3), and still unequip it and givenit to someone else at a high cost in Endgame. The other option is to give it to someone endgame-mandatory. Ena already has boon and Kurth is already unique by getting Kingshift eventually, so I say what if it's the Male Whisper's mastery skill instead of Bane? This way Bane can be the unique skill of the Female Whisper class (which you can rename to Trickster and give a staff-rank to, we discussed long ago). This also solves the issue of Sothe being usually looked down upon for essentially "taking Volke's place" in endgame, and overall the most disliked of the mandatory choices. Yeah, I think I'd like that - Inspire for the Whisper, it even sounds fitting, and if he's in a support role then if you bring Volke or Heather he doesn't suffer from giving them the Baselard, as he'll be less likely to be in melee range due to positioning tactics, making the Peskatz more iseful to him. EDIT: Also it's game over if player-controlled Sothe dies at ANY point of the game IIRC, so you don't have to balance around the possibility of not having Inspire on endgame (not even if Sothe is underleveled and sucks - the player can use him for bonuses then savior-rescue him before enemy phase). EDIT 2: Also consider giving some of these Tide skills to strategically key yellow units in 2-E and 3-oilemandburnem, to further increase the value of keeping them alive. EDIT 3: Also since Chaos Incarnate gets Mantle, does that mean you've found a way to make Deghinsea's Breath, Lehran's tome and Ashera's judgements blessed and able to damage her? And if so, can you do that with to their AoE weapons too?
  11. Best I kind think of are Kieran, Geoffrey (these two will also shine during the chapter where they are green units, since their whole army pools together around Elincia), Heather, and Rhys.
  12. Mmm... yeah, Rally would suit Kieran quite well. You can make it his "personal" (aka costless) but impose a ridiculous cost, like 40, if you want to remove it and give it to someone else. Looking at it like this, the bodyguard dragon duo might be useful as daunt/rally carriers too if you don't bring Kieran and unequip the skill beforehand. Pelleas is a good choice for having Fortify (not sold on that name though; maybe Barrier) as his mastery skill, further differentiating the dark archmage (what did you call his class and Soren's again? Tactician/Strategist?) from the rest, and seeing how he cares for others. Inspire would certainly fit Skrimir's portraial, though I fear carrying it costlessly would make him too much better than Caenigheas and Giffca unless they are buffed too. Maybe it could instead be the tigers' mastery skill, though the player wouldn't know it unless he took the time train and use a satorl sign on one. Sol-less Titania doesn't sound as good though - if anything it'd be silver knights that would make better use of it replacing Sol, since they can't use Sol with bows. Oliver? If anything he should have either Provoke or Daunt as personal.
  13. I would personally rather have them be one-of-a-kind scrolls you find in chests/convoes/bosses through the game instead of class mastery skills. This way you can choose who your rallybots are and get more creative, specially when distributing them to the three armies in part 4, depending on at which point of the game you make them obtainable. Yeah, making them one-of-a-kind boss drops would be best, specially if the boss holding the scroll also boasts the respective skill. Jarod could hold Red (he does inspire his men, and wears purple-reddish), Ludeveck White (ditto, plus he is well-guarded in the map, putting it tomuse), and, huh, maybe Izuka the Black one (also thematically appropiate and useful to him in his map). If Nasir and Gareth no longer have them though, you should give them other skills that help them support Dheginseah, like Gaunt, or give them bonds with their king (who will only benefit from the +Crit since Mantle makes the +Ddge moot), and make them adjacent to him in any case, so that defeating Deghinseah without engaging them is harder than killing them first, both due to their support skills/bonds and them attacking anyone trying to hit Kingie from certain spots. Just, huh, tell us if you give Gareth the hidden Guard+ skill from the bodyguard spirit/auras, and raise Kurth or Emma's transformed Con so they can shove an untransformed Gareth away from bodyguard-taking-a-bullet-for-his-king range (which would be adjacency, from what Inrecall testing to see how the skill worked hacking it into Sothe), as the only othrer units that can do so (some lions and tigers IIRC) are endgame-optional. Incidentally, have you managed to find a way to alter the terrain? More specifically, you think you can rearrangenthe cover/ward tiles? EDIT: Oh, and another one to add to the pile of very minor detaiçs if you want to bother with them - can you remove an use fromLehran's Rewarp staff, since he only uses it in the pre-battle cutscene, but he does use it once?
  14. So will you have boatdude and Gareth adjacent to Daejisnitchamacallit now that maybe they can be shoved by someone other than transformed lions while they're untransformed? EDIT: Also, can you make stat boosters decrease stats? And if so, can you make Speedwings give -1 or -2 Weight, or is weight less adjustable than Con and Mov (which after all do show in the promotion stat-up window)?
  15. Or does he? This could be solved if things are changed so that the contract consists of two original documents, one for each signer, and that usually the destruction of one of the copies after the death of its signer would break the contract, as Ahmada knows, but what she doesn't know is that this is only if the other signan't isn't invoking breach of contract, which Lekain is foxy enough to do by adding a clause to the contract that prohibits both countries from attempting to destroy, or to help in so, their respective copy. Or that she simply doesn't know about that contract-destruction clause. This way she wouldn't want to tell them because they might try and kill Pelleas and then destroy his copy. For the killing-Pelleas route this would then result in Mikey reading the contract before destroying it (and after killing Pelleas) and discovering such a clause (which who knows, maybe only appears in the text after the signant dies), then going to kill Lekain to burn *his* copy, which would break the pact. In the Pelleas-lives route, you can make Mikey's magical freakout while saving the president reveal the line anyway (maybe it reveals itself not when the signant is killed, but when an attempt is made on his life - cue to "look, the contract is glowing!"), and then they deduce that their only option is to kill Lekain while Dain isn't invoking breach of contract on Begnion. Or something like that. EDIT: On a totally unrelated note, do you know if Provoke/Shade works on roaming Allies and Others when wielded by an enemy?
  16. I know you were planning on eventually making a randomiser that pseudo-randomised bargains and some enemy units/inventory/placements, but from what you've learnt giving silver knights staves, what would be the limitations on making a randomiser for the player characters' classes? Even if we were to randomise classes within the same kind of traction (horse, pegasus, etc.) would it be outright impossible with semi-proper animations enabled, since the fact that you couldn't get silver knights to use Mist's horserider staff animation means that animations are tied to each specific model? On another note, do you know if the file structure for weapons is similar enough to PoR's as to, say, put Gurgurant in RD? It's about the least known-about legendary weapon in Fire Emblem, both in origin and fate.
  17. Oh, I didn't think of making Lekain into Lehran's secret club. Color me interested, specially in that the rest of the senate do not know (otherwise Zelgius and Valoure's moment would make no sense). Have you considered making Jarod actually escape from the BK on his own without Micaiha being vanilla Micaiha?
  18. You're gonna try to make Lekain be grey instead of evilly self-centered? Good luck with that. I can see how in parts 4-5 he might follow the goddess' orders out of a sincere belief that her will is divinely right, but before that? In fact, trying to make the what's-his-name regent of Daein more grey will only make Jarod blacker, and vice-versa.
  19. Interesting. I take it then that the confrontation against him in part 4 is now not due to him fighting for Begnion, but a legitimate chance encounter that ends up in battle due to present and past grudges? Something like the apocalypsis finally pushing him over the edge and turning him into the mad ruler of the ferals, degending the sovereignity of his kingdom from the intruders on his glorious palace of mud?
  20. Goddamit Izuka, I told you not to brining your pet dragons as a rearguard to attack the castle, that even with their help we probably wouldn't be finished before it's dinnertime for them. Is that gonna be the lore reason for dragons being there? Izuka having "captured" some of the feral survivors from the events of PoR, and wanting to use them in battle, at which point things go wrong? If so it'd be awesome if they were player-controlled for a turn, and the start of the chapter's battle being a bit after the (unseen) start of the battle per se.
  21. Ever thought about randomising chest contents as well?
  22. If you have time for little jokes, I noticed that Ilyana's map conversation with Zihark in 1-5 should totally make Ilyana defect to Other.
