  1. Only onto my fourth game in the series but the DS game is definitely the worse. Bad graphics, dull story. Slow gameplay. Maps are too big.
  2. Almost definitely not. You need the game to be simple and focused in such a way that a level editor can achieve the same quality as the tailored games do. They won't do Zelda for that reason too. It'd be a hell of a lot more work and you'd end up with something significantly worse than any Zelda game. One example of this is just the world design. Both Zelda and Fire Emblem depend hugely on successful world design. That's really not something you can reduce to a point-and-click level maker. Mario just about works because it's simple enough that permutations of the same basic blocks almost appear as being different levels. Whereas in Zelda or Fire Emblem, what would happen is that you'd play a few user created levels and then you'd start to see similarities in nearly all of them. That unique and new feeling of when you go into a new temple in Zelda or a new level in Fire Emblem is much more key to these experiences than it is to Mario.
  3. Where did they say this?
  4. http://undertale.com/demo.htm
  5. The first 12 games had characters with feet. This was unacceptable to me.
  6. That is traditionally the minimum requirement for a Wii U game!
  7. A very handy "I don't play videogames" option on a video gaming forum.
  8. The story is pretty similar to a Sonic or Mario story really. Not sure where he's getting the dramatic part. You can also play in Classic mode where it just cuts the story parts out of it!
  9. Still never got round to finishing this game. But based on getting about half way through it: Crono, Lucca, Robo.
  10. 1. Skyrim 2. Morrowind 3. Oblivion 4. Daggerfall Haven't played Arena.
  11. Can you explain what you mean by "scope creep" and "scale growth"? I think you're confusing arrogance with "disagrees with me"
  12. Yeah, Totalbiscuit said that in his playthrough: that he didn't think it really felt like Sonic. I'll be completely honest, I have no idea where that's coming from. It feels almost identical to Sonic to me! Are you sure that's not just because people have forgot what the early Sonics were like?
  13. Didn't see a thread on this so thought I'd see if anyone else has been checking it out? For those who don't know, it's the game that was started as a Sonic fan game but then transitioned into its own IP. It's on Steam and GOG and coming to Wii U soon apparently. It's currently sitting at 10/10 on steam user reviews and is quite seriously the best Sonic game in 20 years. Seriously! It's very similar to Shovel Knight in the sense that it doesn't feel like an ode to retro games, it actually just feels like it'd been plucked out of the past. In the same way Shovel Knight looked like the best NES game they could've possibly made, this looks like the best Genesis game they could've made.
  14. Some of their demands are legitimate but they're just massively overestimating how valuable they are to the industry. So many games are massive successes without voice acting or with just mediocre voice acting that it really is more of a nice novelty than a necessity. It is definitely a big plus. But I don't think it'll really affect game sales. Take a quick look through the top 10 rated games of all time: http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html Half of them have no voice acting. If you either remove voice acting from some games or just replace it with amateurs, it's very unlikely to affect sales that much. People go for games based on the concepts and ideas. This is very different to movies, where the actors really do matter.
  15. I can't use the link cos it's american. But I assume it's 4th Dec like the EU, right?
