  1. Ya so long as you're just making changes that don't actually require going into it more than once you could probably get away with deactivating root afterwards and doing whatever. Only problem is updates would probably force you to repeat the entire process again.
  2. You can turn on root from the config settings if you open it while the emulator isn't running if I remember correctly. It should work IF you don't have gapps installed, so there is that if you absolutely need root. I used it for some texture mods, but I turned root off as soon as I installed them. It won't work with mental_offence's method probably but it may be possible to root it, do what you need to do, and then unroot and use mental_offence's method. I can't say how safe that is, but.
  3. I have no idea what's causing it then. And I wouldn't think it would matter, but I can't remember which I was using since I'm no longer using emulators. Seems like the emulator is still working for some other people, but I wonder if those people are still using it without gapps. EDIT: just tried the update without gapps and it still starts up. I had the same problem on my tablet, except it was 88 I think. All I had to do was close FE Heroes and redownload it though. Not sure if it will work in your case.
  4. If need be, turn off the battle animations. Imo they're a small price to pay for speed up. You could try this or googling for any performance fix if you're desperate: https://amiduos.com/support/topic/slow-for-all-games. Some may or may not help. Also I don't think AmiDuOS will be shut down right away because it seems like it tried to focus on functioning more like an actual android than other emulators, and bluestacks is weird. Did you install gapps? That is usually the problem. If you did, uninstall and reinstall AmiduOS without gapps. Also it may be a longshot, but turn on virtualization in your bios. I made a video some pages back of it running if you really need that.
  5. Glad to see the Amiduos method has inspired the Bluestacks method. Amiduos was starting to get annoying for me as well. Is that something new? It was working fine for me for quite a while. It seemed like that only happened when you used it to cheat (and maybe reroll since they don't seem to like that either) or purchase orbs. I could be wrong though, and I stopped using emulators recently so I can't speak for what is going on right now.
  6. Not entirely sure what you mean by multiple instances. If you mean multiple instances of android it sounds like they removed that feature, but maybe that changed in the latest release.
  7. In settings you can turn off screen lock under security. What error is it showing exactly though? If it's the 803-3001 make sure you didn't install gapps and reinstall Amiduos if you did. If it says the games needs play services to run, it's supposed to do that as those are the messages I referred to. If you did all that, I don't see why it wouldn't be working for you specifically... If you're getting the unknown exception error try getting an older version of Amiduos.
  8. Edit: Don't know how this double post happened, please delete.
  9. Computers can be weird sometimes. Maybe try looking up Amiduos's requirements or what's causing the error? Sorry probably can't help you beyond that but it's probably not your pc so much as it's something wrong with your pc.
  10. Sorry, haven't been around today. If you're using windows 10, it works fine for me on windows 10. It's something else if that's what you're thinking. Maybe you got a 32 bit version when you have 64?
  11. No problem. You said you removed it and installed gapps. That's probably the problem, that it was there in the first place. I'd suggest uninstalling Amiduos and reinstalling it WITHOUT "gapps". Just ignore that, as that installs the Google services I warned about. Otherwise you should be fine if you do what I said even if it says that it won't run without Google play services (those are the messages I was referring to). Also for what kind I just use lolipop pro x64 but I think it works on any type. There should be a config exe like the one you see above duos.exe in my video. You can change it under general> display > and manual screen. Pick small screen. Also yes I'm pretty sure it's not getting that error. It's been working fine for days. And the thing is, they already thought they made it so it can't run without services, this is either a glitch or something unqiue about Amiduos I think. If nothing else in the future I assume that someone could figure out a workaround on Amiduos since it does not install services by default and they're really hard to get off.
  12. I believe I found a method that works. My video is for proof. All you need to do is install Amiduos, install FE Heroes (I believe that Amiduos must be running in order to install apps) and start it up. Then press ok to the messages, press - at the upper right of the emulator, and then click on the Amiduos icon in your taskbar to open it again. Just do NOT install google services. Just install Amiduos and leave it as it is. A bit more instructions are in the video description if needed.
  13. Using the Andy emulator was working without this error entirely for the months I used it but I uninstalled it and when I reinstalled it, FE Heroes just crashes on the menu where it shows the game version (1.5) after the "ID" comes up under the game version. This is a real shame since I thought I finally found a way around this annoyance for good... I can't say for sure, but if someone could figure out how to get past the crash I would assume that Andy would still work without the error.
  14. Just here to give a little PSA: for me using Andyroid instead of Bluestacks seems to have fixed the issue.
