  1. If you aren't watching, and don't want to wait for Kirie's report, you can follow kizuna. I'm really glad that we have the members of the Black Fang, they are pretty memorable antagonists in my opinion. Although I'm not sure why does Limstella have 50 support, morphs don't really look like teamplayers to me.
  2. I usually don't like much mayo's art, but I must say that Saizo/Kagero duo looks amazing. I have a hard time trying to tell what's going on, with the red and green swirls and why are they posing like that, but it looks great nonetheless. I'm not sure how I feel about the Lyn art. I find her face a little odd and her outfit doesn't really look like her ig sprite which doesn't change upon promotion, so I suppose they had to make something different. Looks like a hybrid between the Swordmaster's garb from Awakening and her original outfit to me, I guess it still fits since it's eastern asian looking. Took me a moment to realize that the blue silhouettes in the background were supposed to be the after images from her critical animation, it's pretty cool.
  3. I would have prefered if they waited a little and made a more consequent Splatoon 2, since what they shown seems like an upgraded port of the Wii U version, which is still fine and I understand why they would do that (to push japanese sales quickly and an easy way to add one more game near launch, same thing about MK8). I'm not sure about local multiplayer, maybe with the console docked and multiples controllers, but I don't see the game being very playable with only one "Joy-Con". Aiming with Gyro is also one of the best thing they have done, I sure hope that they keep it, it will probably allow other shooters to be somewhat playable on console. I wonder how long it has been since Intelligent Systems finished working on Paper Mario Color Splash. I'm pretty sure they already have some project for the Switch, but I'm just not sure how advanced it is, and if we can expect it near release or not. I know that they also work on FE mobile, but I doubt that takes most of their staff, just like Cipher doesn't probably take that much people. I'm pretty sure that the best is yet to be revealed, known projects like Mario and Zelda while still very nice aren't as interesting/surprising to me as the odd announcements like Bayonetta 2, Codename STEAM, #FE, etc... even if I'm not always interested in these games. Plus, they have a fair number of 3rd party developers partners announced (some quite unexpected, From Software, Bethesda...), so I'm even more optimistic, even if I would have been fine with a Wii U/3DS like output.
  4. cuboon is definitely one of my favorite artists for Cipher (his/her female Kana cards are amazing), I think the Lyn card shown for the next set is also from them judging from the art. I also have a question, does anyone know why the motifs for the yellow cards are the Sun and the Moon ? If it has any meaning of course, I never played Genealogy of the Holy War so I'm curious.
  5. It has been a while since the last Nintendo Direct, I missed them. There are plenty of games we already know about that are likely to get some updates (the ones listed on the previous page), I'm more interested to see if they have some unexpected surprises. No duration announced yet, I wonder how long it will be.
  6. I'm also not very knowledgeable about all these things, but I've seen mentioned in another forum : From Barry's profile, he was part of a group named TERADETH, which is a reference to Megadeth. Tsubasa is posing for a magazine called Nanno in our localized version if I remember correctly, is a reference to Non-no, so the localization team made the effort to make it a reference too. The game is apparently filled with references of the sort, but I doubt many people are able to recognize most of them (me included), since it's more oriented toward Japan. Nonetheless, it's still very nice to see that the developers had fun putting these everywhere in the game (even some less "pop-culture" ones, like these two).
  7. I think I remember getting a Muscle Drink EX from a vending machine in Shibuya once, but I'm no longer sure. But I don't mind too much the actual format of the page, it's just that I thought having the possibility to check both which character is affected by which drink and vice versa would be convenient. But since it's functional, I will probably try to do other things first, like Accessories. I just finished all skills pages, I tried to keep everything as consistent as I could (there are quite a few errors and inconsistency that bugs me in the game, which surprise me since the localizers of Atlus and Nintendo have done a really incredible work in the game in general). If anyone notice an error, feel free to correct it. I added the Stage Ranks for the Radiant skills and also removed a few things like the "Door of" Radiant skills and some descriptions for some other Radiant skills, since the first ones don't give anything and are possible spoilers, same thing for the second. I also tried not to mention the dungeon names to avoid spoilers. Now I would like to know if most of you would prefer to have the "Door of" radiant skills, the full description for other skills (like the Feel my Voice/Soul/Heart for Tsubasa), also the dungeon names (Illusory ___ ). I don't mind putting them back if the majority prefers that way, so I'm asking. I'll probably start a Lunatic run in the near future, so I'll be able to add the "ultimate" carnages (not before a really long time though) and Legendary difficulty for the arena, if I don't surrender before getting to the endgame.
  8. It's "Yang", from Intelligent Systems apparently. I expect them to add more guests and hosts later. Here's the livestream link in case some people want to timeshift. From what I can understand from the description, it's S6 cards, a report for the 1 year anniversary event for Cipher and other news. Personally, I'm mostly interested in Series 7 cards (Blazing Sword nostalgia...), but I'm still looking forward to this stream. I keep thinking that it has been a while since the previous one and it's always a enjoyable moment.
  9. Well, that was my main advice. You can save anytime, so don't hesitate to save often, especially whenever a Savage Mirage appears on the field (mirages in a black cloak instead of the usual red), since even on normal, you have a high chance of dying to them. After the first few chapters, you'll also be able to buy items called Smoke Machines that gives you 100% escape rate, useful to keep around. Buffs and debuffs are really useful just like in SMT/Persona games, so the -kaja and -kunda spells, in tough fights, you are likely to have to rely on them. Side quests are really enjoyable and give you nice rewards after accomplishing them, so I recommend you to try to do them as early as you can (you'll probably get a few that are too high level at some point, these can wait, but I've heard of some people that managed to do them while underleveled). I see the question "can I relearn X skill later if I decide to pick Y skill ?" asked fairly often and the answer is yes, the ability to improve your weapons after some point in the game allows you to relearn skills from your previous weapons. That's most of what I can think right now, I think the game is pretty straightforward so you should be fine, especially if you aren't new to turn based RPGs, and SMT/Persona in particular. The game is slightly more difficult than other games, even on Normal in my opinion, so I thought I should mention that. Healing spells are still useful if you intend to do the Arena, but for the rest of the game, I tend to rely more on items for healing/curing ailments/reviving. Characters like Mamori and Tsubasa have some healing special performances with bonus effects that are really good (Rakukaja+Sukukaja on Tsubasa's Debut Smile, and Mamori can use hers without wasting her turn). These and the many Duo Arts that have healing properties make healing spells less useful but I like to keep them on Tsubasa just in case (and for healing after battle).
  10. I also only use them to inflict ailments as well (for some reasons, my Kiria's ailments hit very rarely, even on weak enemies... on the other hand, Sexy Dance has been pretty reliable). Flux is decent early game when Kiria joins because it really does a lot of damage, but later, I think that it's preferable to try to hit another weakness, just for the Session. Althought I've seen many people telling that Naga is pretty good, I suppose having Dragon effectiveness may help, but it probably still can't trigger a Session since nothing can session from a Spirit spell (Kiria's high magic stat combined with the high power base of the spell may be enough to offset that, but Session is usually more beneficial in my opinion). I don't think that SP draining spells are as worth it than in other SMT/Persona games, since you can Traport and pretty quickly get back to where you were thanks to the teleporters. HP draining spells seem even less useful, but I may be wrong since I haven't tried them. So... they are fine, mainly for the ailments (Charm, Confuse and Seal, maybe Sleep if you are able to hit with Lullaby Song) I think, which are surprisingly useful, compared to the SMT/Persona games I've played where these spells are useless (if I've been missing something, please enlighten me).
  11. Not sure I should answer since you want to leave it at that but... 1, 2, 4, and 6 are fair, althought I'm not sure I understand what you mean with 2, the comparison with Etrian Odyssey, etc.. the game looks great, so you probably mean the artstyle ? If so, that's fair too I suppose. I don't really agree with all of these points but I can see why you can think that. For 3, as others said before, it may look complicated, but it's not. If you can play and understand what happens in FE or in Pokemon, you can for #FE too, really. For 5, almost everything is, only battle banter isn't (and some radio ads at Shibuya I think ?), and while it's a legitimate complaint, it's mostly the usual battle banter with characters saying "I'm counting on you", "Lend me your strength" "Of course"... Still, I hope they don't overlook that for future games.
  12. I don't think #FE will affect the classic FE IP in any way, and while it's bound to not perform well in term of sales, it still received a lot of good reviews and from what I've seen, most people having played the game seem to have enjoyed it. It probably wasn't extremely profitable for Nintendo, if at all (but then again, they sold a fair amount of merchandises, like CDs...), but ultimately I think it's a good addition to the FE IP as a spin-off, and to Nintendo since they lack JRPGs. Also I don't agree with your argument "Awakening was a risky endeavor", including really well liked mechanics from previous games (mariage and children...) and improving them (the support system and pairing up...), plus adding a new mode oriented towards newcomers isn't really "risky". I can't really see anything but benefits from these additions in Awakening, no real risk. Atlus are fine doing what they do, same thing for developers like Platinum Games, we need developers like them to keep doing these sorts of games, and they seemed to be satisfied with it too. Also, I'm not really sure about all this, but I thought that Atlus was doing fine but not the previous company that owned them ?
  13. There are 16 Master Seals you can obtain through the game, plus a few more if you are lucky with the lottery. I think you are still fine, unless you want to promote back and forth other Mirages. And Itsuki can learn Diarahan, so you can always learn that if you want to keep a healing spell, but Energy Drinks have the same purpose.
  14. I don't think #FE is the result of Atlus "playing safe", quite the opposite. I'm not sure I understand your obsession with the game not being FE, I see it like complaining about Mario Kart not being a Mario game and being bad for that reason. I see the game as both a SMT and a FE spin-off, something new that stands on its own, just like Persona now. And the core of the battle system is actually really simple, it may look impressive just from a viewer perspective, but it's mostly about taking advantage of resistances and weaknesses, just like... Pokemon ? It's a simple description, as the combat system of both Pokemon and #FE can actually get more complex and interesting. If only it turned into disinterest for some people... and I don't think people forgot the game exists, it's just that the game doesn't interest them so they don't pay attention to it, and that's perfectly normal. Also the same reason for why this forum is much quieter too, I don't really understand why you try to come up with other reasons. Also, I think you can restrain yourself if it's the reason you come here, especially since I don't see what was wrong with the marketing of the game, unless you want to keep bringing up the first reveal of "SMTxFE" at E3. It's better lately I think, here and in the few places I check on the internet, for example in this very thread, while I don't agree with/understand some of the criticism, the discussion is still calm and polite.
  15. When I read Pokemon x FE, Pokemon Conquest immediately came to mind. I never played the game, but the concept sounds close to what I imagine when I think Pokemon x FE from what I've heard of Conquest. Still curious about what they would do for a Pokemon x FE game, I can absolutely see why they thought both series would be a good match, but I can't really imagine what it would look like. I hope they'll keep trying to expand the FE IP with different projects like this, #FE, Cipher, etc... Good investigation work, I remember having already seen this interview, but I didn't pay much attention at the time...
  16. This is pretty unexpected but looks very much like something Nintendo would do. I tried to follow rumors, and I remember the most recent theory being two devices, a console and a handheld with a lot of synergy between them (common OS, shared library...). NX being an hybrid device was out of the question after some comments from Nintendo if I remember correctly. I'm not really tech savvy, but I'm not sure what to think of the NX actually being hybrid, I worry about things like the battery life being a problem in handheld mode, and a lack of "power" in console mode (not directly a concern that affects me though, since I think that games already look good on Wii U). Ultimately, whatever it is, I'll probably end up buying one when the time is right (ie when enough games I want are released), since I simply follow the games I like, as long as it isn't extremely uncomfortable to use or absurdly expensive. So... I don't have any special thought after this rumor has surfaced, it is definitely interesting, but I'll wait for an official reveal from Nintendo and especially a showcase of the games they have prepared (there is already Zelda Breath of the Wilds which is a very good omen) before I reserve a more definitive judgement on the subject. I don't think that your reasoning is the right one, I doubt Scorpio will sell well in the actual circumstances, it sounds like something extremely expensive and will probably only appeal to the most hardcore gamers. I don't know yet for Neo, but I remember reading that Sony asked that all the games must run on the original PS4, so if NX ends up near Xbox One/PS4 power level in its console mode, ports are not out of the question. Also, having less power may appeal to more developers that aren't with the usual big publishers, I think mostly about the japanese developers that remained with Nintendo on the 3DS, but also the small independent developers etc... And ultimately, these developers follow money, if NX whatever it is ends up extremely sucessful, you can be sure that they will flock to it, power or not. Actually, this rumor states that it uses a Tegra X1, as I said, I'm not really tech savvy, but from what I understand, Tegra X1 uses a nvidia architecture as opposed to x86 which uses an AMD one. So Nintendo doomed ?
  17. This subject has already been brought up multiple times, there are reasons. First, the characters are from very successful and recognizable games, the Akaneia series and Awakening. Second, with the system they decided to do, "1 master, 1 mirage", they couldn't please anyone no matter what, even if they decided to put characters from other FE as enemies, or NPCs (well, they did that, and I thought it was a nice subtle nod), some people would still ask "why isn't my favorite character in the game/playable ?!". There is also the plot, while not being the most important argument for me, still rely on the Akaneia universe, having all characters from this universe make the whole more coherent. I'm not saying that they couldn't do something else, but they had to make choices, and it ended up fine in my opinion. The first point I mentioned being obviously the most decisive, the others being just the result of that. For a starting point, I think that they made the right choice.
  18. Difficult question. I like all the characters, both gameplay-wise and personality-wise. If I have to choose one, I suppose I'll pick Yashiro, Myrmidon/Swordmaster are my favorite classes, The Hungry Man is up there with Raging Stampede among my favorite ad lib, and he is just cool all around. I can probably come up with a lot more reasons for him and the other characters but it will only help to fuel my indecisiveness... so I'll leave it at that.
  19. I'm the one who created that page, it was just a reminder for me to do that later, but thanks a lot for taking the lead. It's not exactly as I envisioned, well I didn't think that much about it to be fair, and I don't even know if what I wanted to do is possible : doing a double entry table to allow people to look more easily which character benefits from what, and which food/drink benefits which character(s). Also, I think that vending machines have shared drinks, so doing vending machines for each place may be a little redundant. That apart, you did a really exhaustive work, so maybe we can just try to complete what you started. However, this is personally pretty low on my priorities for the wiki (I want to finish the skills for each character first), especially since I still have really low knowledge on editing for now, but I'll try to look up how to do more things by myself. Your spreadsheet for the arena seem to be progressing well, I wish I knew you were doing that earlier, before finishing the game, I did the Advanced difficulty of the Arena for a while. If you don't intend to do it next, I can just do it again and record the information while doing so. I would like the game and the informations to be displayed on the main site just like the other games for consistency as you said, but maybe only after we achieve a fair level of completion of the wiki ? For now, I think editing the wiki should suffice, but I would prefer if we can eventually transfer everything on the main site. Balmung is far from being the only reference to other FE games, there are plenty of weapons from a lot of the FE games, but it's only the weapons. And for the Promotions, it's mainly what yaycupcake said, different stats, and unlock exclusive carnages which can teach you some class exclusive skills (Aether for Great Lord as an example, also upgraded Session skills). I personally wonder if it affects stat growth since the promotions have very different orientations, but I have no evidence of that. Ultimately, you can acquire enough Master Seals to promote each Mirage at least twice, so while the choice is important, it's not like it's absolutely irreversible. I just did the skills page for Touma. That took a really long time, and I'm still quite busy so I'm not sure this will progress quickly and steadily, but I will eventually finish it.
  20. The game isn't really easy even on Normal mode I think, it's true to its SMT heritage on that point, so no need to feel dejected, especially after managing to get through most of the game, chapter 5 is near the endgame. [spoiler=Chapter 5]It seems like you have already been discussing strategy, but I'll still add my own approach. I did the fight with Itsuki, Yashiro (both mandatory) and Tsubasa (I think I tried to switch to Eleonora for debuffs, but she died instantly so I stopped doing that). I suppose if you don't want to use Tsubasa and rely on items to heal and buff your party, you can consider Touma or Mamori, but I don't know how much hit Mamori can take with her Sword weakness and the boss doing Heat Wave really often. I'm not sure about Kiria and Eleonora, both seem too fragile to last, and Kiria has a Sword weakness too. Tsubasa, while fragile, uses Lance making her resist Heat Wave (or even Null if you promoted Caeda to Dragon Knight and equip her with the right carnages), the main danger for her is a Gale Strike followed by a Session, she can't really survive that, unless buffed with Rakukaja and even then it's really close. Keeping debuffs on him doesn't seem really that useful since it resets when he "regroups" or clones himself, but if you can setup a few at the start of one of the phases it doesn't hurt. On the opposite, keeping yourself buffed is really necessary, I tried to keep Rakukaja/Sukukaja up as much as I could, it's true for almost all the bosses though, but against that boss, a Gale Strike dodged is the difference between life and death for Tsubasa. Using Counter with Yashiro when you can't really hit a weakness or when you are in difficulty is also really helpful, keeping him safe since only Heat Wave will be able to hit him. Try to use the phase when he is alone to heal yourself, rebuff, etc, I think I recall he has Nullify for all elements, so you'll have a hard time doing damage during that phase, and he can't Session you, so you should be safe. The phase where you are struggling, when he creates 4 copies of himself is the hardest part of the fight. If you want an easy solution, I recommend you to stock Attack Mirrors and use them during that phase while trying to focus on one clone at a time. I don't recall having used Attack Mirrors, but these items are real lifesavers when you are in difficulty, against any boss or Savage Mirages. Also, unrelated but really late Happy Birthday to Kiria, I must say I didn't expect to see this, wishing happy birthday to fictional character seems like a very japanese thing. Having birthday date for fictional character is already very japanese I suppose ?
  21. Sorry I haven't been very active too, especially after I said I wanted to do carnages and skills, I still plan on doing that but I was busy finishing the game and I'm currently a little bit busy with other things. I'll try to add skills pages whenever I can. @Akineku, I only had a few ideas, but nothing really definite for now. I've tried to do something quickly on my spreadsheet (it's on the SF wiki test tab), but it's not really usable with the table format. There is too much information that has to be put in the Skills section for some enemies, and that will inevitably cause the table to be distorted. We can do specific pages for each enemy with only the main information on the table (Name, Level, Class, HP, EP, Weaknesses, Resistances, and maybe notes/comments), but that will require a lot more work. It's more complicated than I first thought, and I haven't found a satisfying solution yet. For the arena, I think the enemies that can appear are set by "round" from the first to the fifth. So probably Something like this : Difficulty mode (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Legendary) either separated with Sections like in the enemy data page or with tabs just like the skills pages. Then per round where you list each possible enemy composition for each round. The rewards can be put in a separate tab or section within the arena page, or maybe you add them somewhere in each difficulty section/tab (at the beginning or at the end). I hope my description makes sense, and that I'm not mistaken in the way the arena function (if I am, then my suggestion probably doesn't make a lot of sense anymore, so feel free to ignore it). Also, for the last song names : ジャンプ!凰牙!!! is "Jump, Ouga!" 幻じゃない世界 is "This World Isn't an Illusion" From Touma and Itsuki's profiles.
  22. She doesn't die that often anymore when I use her, she dodges pretty consistently, and if she gets hit, unless it's a Session, she can survive at least that hit. Can't really argue with her damage output, although her Mazandyne are as good as Kiria's. If you only want damage, she won't do as much as Kiria or Touma, but otherwise, I use her often during tough fights since she is very versatile, damage with Mazandyne, healing with Diarahan, Mediarama and especially Debut Smile, support with Sukukaja, Debut Smile and Sexy Dance. Grand Finale is also useful to keep fighting in the arena without having to get back to Shibuya for Moon Raga / Herbal Tea (can't find Muscle Drink DX consistently). I can confirm that it's pretty boring. My method is to sell all Amrita Soda, Ma- stones, Attack and Magic Mirrors, and buffs stones, then rebuy them. I earn 66 Melmarks each time, so precisely enough for 22 trades each time, if anyone have a better method, I'll be grateful (probably buying and selling accessories at Carabia ? But it's probably not worth the loading times each time you want to get back to Hee Ho Mart to trade). I should mention that Lck Incense is also a possible special prize at the lottery. Finished Advanced mode in the arena then did the final boss yesterday. [spoiler=End game spoilers]I really like Medeus design, his head with the sharp teeth and the mecha eyes, also the eye-looking things on his wings reminded me of Grima. The cutscene before the final fight was also really cool. I ended up overleveled once again, Medeus being 61-63, Itsuki was 67 and the 2 party members I used for the fight, Tsubasa and Touma were 65 and 64, but even overleveled, Medeus did hit really hard especially with Dies Irae. I was fully buffed almost all the time and tried to keep Debilitate on him but the spell did like 90% of my party's hp consistently. That apart, I should've learned Prayer with Tsubasa and equipped my Null Sword weapons with her and Touma before the fight (maybe only Tsubasa, Drain Fire was useful on Touma). Something that surprised me is that he didn't use many skills during the second phase, Energy Drain (good thing I had 6 Soma), Dies Irae, Dark Breath, Dekunda, Tail, his bite and that's it. I think I remember him having Ma-dyne spells, so I expected him to spam them after some point. I'll probably try Lunatic next to see how it is, but I'll probably take a break to do some irl stuff and help with the wiki before starting next playthrough.
  23. Tsubasa can learn Agidyne, but yeah, she is mainly a Force and Support spells user for me (also Sexy Dance, which is surprisingly helpful). Speaking of Sexy Dance, I never really used much the ailment spells in previous SMT/Persona, but they have been really helpful in this game, Sexy Dance, Tentarafoo and especially Pastel Power (Pastel Power is up there with Debut Smile as ridiculously strong SP skills, on the other hand, Sleeping Song didn't hit much when I used it...). Eclipse answered that, but you can reclass as long as you have a Master Seal, and as AzureSen precised, you get enough Master Seals to promote each Mirage at least twice, and if I remember correctly, you even get 2 spares. You can get more, but since it's a lottery special prize, it's RNG based. Great Lord gets advanced healing spells (Diarahan and Mediarama), Healing Expertise, Absorb Elec and Aether, also the -Elthunder Session skills. Conqueror gets Diamondsplitter (advanced Armorslayer), Thunder Strike (Heavy physical Elec skill), Martyr Expertise (basically -slayer skills expertise) and the -Slash EX Session skills (the animation is really underwhelming). The stats also differ, but you'll be able to see that before promoting, but it's more or less as we described : Great Lord is still balanced with an orientation towards Magic and Support, while Conqueror gets a really good boost in Str making it more Physical oriented. I have spent a few hours doing arena and getting the improved Session skills of the second promotion. I only get 9 coins after 3 Advanced arena sessions compared to the 18 of the previous difficulty, I'm afraid I'm getting too much exp before the final boss fight... I'm at around 70h, with the last several hours of just doing requests and arena. I think my most solid party composition (the one I'm currently using for Advanced arena) is Itsuki/Tsubasa/Kiria. The party member I tend to use the less often is Touma, he hits really hard especially with Piercing Void, but he only had 2 elements until recently and couldn't do much more. Hopefully that will change since I got him Gale Strike and Debilitate. [spoiler=Animation talk, post Chapter 4 party member spoilers]Itsuki's -Slash EX has a really underwhelming animation, he just stabs the enemy. I can now add Touma's -Blaze EX, Kiria's -Elblizzard and Yashiro's -Blaze EX among my favorite Session animations.
  24. To be honest, I don't really use -slayer skills, but Conqueror is kind of specialized in physical and -slayer skills (Martyr Expertise is Conqueror exclusive and reinforces these skills), that's why I suggested them. Multi hit skills do trigger a session as long the opponent you are aiming (you can still target a principal target with these skills) is weak to it, I use them quite often when needed, it adds some damage to other targets softening them for later Sessions to finish them, but you can probably do fine with only single target skills if you worry about EP or repel/drain (not very frequent, but can happen, even then I don't find that too bothersome). And yes, after some point later in the game, you gain the option to reinforce "+1" all carnages you have already maxed, so you can relearn their skills in addition to a new 5th skill.
