  1. Can't figure out what version of Java I'm running. Just tried it after updating and command prompt crashes the moment I open it. This sounds like a problem I'll need to figure out how to fix elsewhere.
  2. The 64-bit versions aren't working for me. I've tried other 64-bit applications and those work so don't understand why it won't open.
  3. The village was the one closest to the top right. Good to hear the EXP and growths are supposed to be like that. I'll admit, the Cyrus issue may or may not have been my own poor playing.
  4. Just tried the first chapter, and it was an interesting experience. I understand this is still a very early demo, but I'll try listing my thoughts. First of all, this hack's presentation is pretty good. I've never seen a hack that used FE4-style graphics in the context of an FE7 or FE8 hack, and it looks pretty neat. It does have a few hiccups, though, like Russ's color palette looking somewhat strange when attacking, and in the opening cutscene where one of the swordfighters coming out of the castle incredibly slowly. The story is also somewhat interesting, and has a lot of potential. The gameplay, however. I have a feeling you put the MU right by the boss for testing purposes, and you're just showing off the map for the demo, and if that's the case my complaints on that front are less severe because I know it will be fixed. My other complaints are as such: First of all, I found an interesting bug. Either the Day/Night cycle doesn't reset when restarting the chapter or whether or not you visit a village doesn't reset. These issues may be due to the autosave feature. I found this because after visiting the village on one attempt, the village was closed on the next attempt. Second of all, Hitting an enemy always gives out one EXP (2 with Paragon) and killing an enemy always gives 20 EXP (40 with Paragon). I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not. As a side note, growth rates in this hack are rather low, but that's rather minor by comparison. Also, it's pretty much impossible to make a safe spot for Cyrus to do bard things on the turn he joins. Overall this hack contains a lot of potential, but in its current state requires some fixing. It should also be noted that I haven't tries the 3.1 patch you released on your Twitter yet, so maybe one of these things was fixed there.
  5. You've done a great deed, young man, for you have awakened my eyes to see the world the way it really is: In the words of a once great man, screw gravity.
  6. I actually really like it. 8.5/10 Laughter - Phantasy Star IV
  7. Personally, I think Micaiah was a decent character, but would have been a better character if some of her character traits weren't completely forgotten after the first part. Gameplay-wise, I think Micaiah is semi-usable in the early game depending on the difficulty setting, but drops off heavily later on due to the game heavily favoring physical units and a low speed growth.
  8. I personally disagree with Vanessa and Tethys's placements being so high. Reasonings: Vanessa has a bit of trouble in the early game because she joins right before a chapter where literally every enemy is either an archer or an axe user. Once you get to Chapter 4, though, she isn't held back anymore due to the amount of axe users per chapter taking a drop. Tethys, meanwhile, doesn't bring anything interesting to the table unlike most dancers. Don't get me wrong, though, she's still a perfectly viable unit.
  9. The Spanish version of RD's river battle cutscene, because Zelgius and Skrimir sound pretty much exactly the same. If that doesn't count, then I choose "DOOOOON'T LET A SINGLE ONE ESCEEEEEHP!"
  10. On one of my playthroughs, I had a Heath with capped defense.
  11. Even the anchor fluctuation trend
  12. Not sure if this idea's brilliant or terrible. Guess only time will tell.
  13. Change Dozla to Draco Zombie with Ike's PoR growths.
  14. Carlyle is even worse. Close to maxed out in most stats? Check. 1-2 range weapon? Check. High crit chance? Check. He will avoid most attacks you throw at him to an insane degree. He pretty much always hits you, and more than not crits. It took a very good 20/20 Lute with every stat maxed except HP, luck and defense to be able to land a hit on him without dying, and even then, it took heavy RNG abuse. I didn't have a unit that had a hit chance above 50%, and the ones that did couldn't do enough damage to make a difference. I RNG abused for 20 minutes just to beat this guy. The best part, though? I played a bit of Chapter 15, and Valter is actually WEAKER IN EVERY STAT.
  15. I'd probably be a myrmidon or wyvern rider. (I'm conflicted between my affinity for crits and my affinity for cool mounts and lances.) Critical Hit Quotes: "Hope you brought an elixir!" "I'll be seeing you!" "Gordon!" "See you!"
  16. Well, time to do this, and prepare for the storm. -Stamina is an awful mechanic that should never return. -Thracia 776 is the weakest game in the franchise to me because of said mechanic. -Dorcas is a good unit, as you can see from my profile pic. -The DS games are the best way to experience the first and third game. -Dismount is pointless. -I don't like flying units in general. Besides Cormag. -I don't like troubadours either. -Raven isn't a very good unit.
  17. My first Fire Emblem was Shadow Dragon. I was a braindead 9-year-old. -I thought the death quotes were CUTSCENES. Many units died. -I thought tutorials were for people who watch LPs and goldfish, and didn't notice that I could control every blue unit. -I thought the battle forecast was pointless. -I never restocked weapons, and kept those guys without weapons around anyway. -I didn't know you could only visit villages with Marth, so I thought every village I didn't try visiting with Marth was scenery. -I got the requirements for the first Gaiden chapter, but failed to recruit the unit I would have gained from it. -The only reason I survived for so long was luck. -I thought everyone was a good unit. My second FE, Sacred Stones, was much better, but that's not saying much. -I turned off the game at the sight of FORESTS. I turned it back on two years later. -I promoted Artur to Sage. (this one's comparatively less severe.) -I thought flying units were useless and killed them off out of spite. Oh, how that changed when I met Cormag. -I killed Amelia. -What doesn't help was my awful luck, usually getting only two stat-ups per level. ...I don't feel like talking about my past anymore.
  18. I guess I could do another one of these. It's time for more confessions. -I thought Erk was female until Ch. 10 of FE7. Same with Lucius. -It took me 2 whole games to realise Janaff's gender. -I hardcore ship Vaike x Nowi. -I think future children were great in Awakening, but never used them. -I used Dorcas on my first playthrough of FE7. He actually got very good level ups. -I have a running gag where I worship Brom like a god. -I once slipped up in words and called Nino "my favorite giraffe". -I personally think future children shouldn't be in Fates because they have nothing to do with the plot. -I always use the Afa's Drops on Heath. -I forged a hammer once and called it "Status Quo".
  19. So, I decided to go on RANDOM.ORG to make a completely random draft by putting in 12 random numbers between 1 and 42 to decide which characters I use. -12 is the amount of characters I'll use, because that's a typical amount for drafting. -I have never drafted a team before, but I'll use units not listed if I need to fill up spots. And the randomly generated units are: Raven (Joins Ch. 16E/17H) I've never used him, but I heard he is one of the best units in the game. Eliwood (obviously) You NEED Eliwood to beat the game, so I was lucky enough to draft him. Not much to be said here, typical crappy lord stats. Vaida (Joins Ch. 27E/29H) I've never used her, but she's probably going to fall behind because of some other characters I drafted. Priscilla (Joins Ch. 14) I've never used her, but she's my only hope for a healer. Fiora (Joins Ch. 18E/19H) Fiora joins in a relatively tough time for flying units, so expect her to fall behind. Florina (Joins Ch. 3L/15E/16H) Florina is one of few pegasus knights who can deliver plenty of damage and not die. Yep, she's going on the team. Kent (Joins Ch. 1L/15E/16H) Oh my gosh. A cavalier. It's a miracle that I get to use a well-balanced class like this! Anyway, in my previous run, Kent managed to cap 3 stats without using more than one stat booster, so I have high hopes for him. Merlinus (Joins Ch. 13x, not that it matters.) Isadora (Loins Ch. 21E/22H...Are you kidding me?) I think this game hates me. I have been assigned to use two paladins, two wyvern lords, and two pegasus knights. Now this happened. I can't even say any more because I don't remember this character. Geitz (Joins Ch. 23E/24H) Geitz is basically a cheap version of Dorcas, having no real advantages over the two other potential warriors, so I would have used Dorcas any day of the week that isn't Wednesday. Heath (Joins Ch. 21E/22H) Well, at least Heath's a competent unit. I used him in my first playthrough, and he was awesome. Hopefully he'll be even more awesome this time through. Rath (Joins Ch. 6L/21E/22H) I never use Rath because he suffers from Eyvel Syndrome. He leaves your team after Chapter 10, and randomly comes back 2/3 through the game. Well, at the very least, he gets better with training, and doesn't have the worst case of Eyvel Syndrome. Well, there you have it. The horrifying result of letting the RNG draft for you.
  20. Hear me out, guys: DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZLA!
