What happens if units die between chapters 1-5 (besides your servant)? Like if Kaze dies early in the game, does that mean you can't recruit him later on?

Why are child units not considered to be as strong in this game, if their max stats are calculated the same way as in Awakening?

Guys, he's asking for advice of HIS pairings, not what your pairings are :/ OP, I don't know too much about optimization, but there are recurring polls called "Choosing the Best Class For ..." somewhere in the Fates forum. They give good advice on what the optimal class for each character is. @Avalanche gave really solid advice about choosing your avatar's Asset/Flaw to complement your partner. As for what class you should choose, you really have to look at each unit's class tree, what skills they have already, and what skills they might want. For example, let's take Xander. He initially has access to the Cavalier and Wyvern Rider lines, and he can Buddy Seal to get the Ninja (Kaze), Mercenary (Lazlow), and Dark Mage (Leo) lines. Xander's an amazing unit, but his speed isn't too great, so Samurai (which he can't get by himself) would be really helpful in patching that up. Astra's great for Guard Stance, and Swordfaire's great considering his OP prf weapon. For getting the kids, I've heard it's really up to you and your playstyle, especially considering you're playing Nohr where you might not be able to use all of the kids efficiently. If you think a kid would be helpful in a certain chapter, or it's convenient, then go for it.

I plan on marrying Xander, and I've heard a +Str/+Spd asset is good for his kid. I'm also making my secondary class Samurai, so that he'll have access to some really great skills (Vantage, Astra, Swordfaire) and can grow in that class for boosted speed growths.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I was looking through the Buddy Seal options, and does Jakob really get NOTHING from his A+ supports (Gunter and Silas)? He already has cavalier, and that's what they give him... I know he can get Archer from A+ Takumi, so is that his only decent buddy option? Also what secondary class for FeMU would you recommend to help him out? Thanks!

Midwinter break for high school students whoo~

Normal/Casual for Nohr, and then Hard/Casual for Hoshido. I feel like people need to justify playing casual for whatever reason, but anyway I just want to experience the gameplay and story first without stressing over permadeath.

For Kaze x Felicia, the speed and luck sounds really good, but doesn't Midoriko get strength screwed? Would you be running a magic Midoriko instead??

Any suggestions to how I can improve the Kaze x Mozume, Arthur x Beruka, Benoit x Pieri, Jakob x Felicia pairings? Will switching Beruka with Pieri help Lutz at all? And where can I put Felicia? Would Saizou x Orochi and Asama x Felicia work out better? And who should I pair Azura with?

Also NOHRMASTERRACE right here, and Selena/Luna basically turned me off tsunderes for life. Later I realized that I didn't actually hate the "tsundere" type in general, I just hate how she's kind of a bitch to everyone in Awakening.

Could someone please briefly explain how restarting from chapter 6 (starting a new save file) works exactly? I understand that you can pick different avatars, and just start playing from that point onwards, but how does the game calculate factors like leveling and stat growths? If your first Kamui reached lvl 7 at chapter 6, does that mean all subsequent Kamui's will also be lvl 7?

I hate to be the person, but *sold*. Also, I feel like Fates will sell easily as many copies as FE:A, so definitely >2 million IMO.

In-game bonuses include re-classing items like Dark Falcon Wings or Dread Fighter Scrolls. You get the Dread Fighter Scrolls for buying 2 routes, and DFWs for buying 3. I believe there are also Boots and stats boosting items.

Wow, seriously thank you so much. This is great :) Quick question though: what do you mean by "Tier 1" in Elise's example? Also to everyone, let's say you have a character with crappy bases and growths in one stat. For example, let's take Marx and his meh speed. If you reclass him to Trueblade (given by marrying Trueblade Kamui) to increase his speed growth, would he reach or get close to his max speed stat as a Paladin?
