I personally prefer stories that don't use self-inserts for main characters, but I have a feeling that avatars are going to stay no matter what. I do hope they're not the 'main' character in the next game, though, but I'm not sure how IS would handle something like that unless they pull another Robin... But even with that said, I don't mind avatar main characters. So if they're kept, they're kept, and if they're not, they're not. *shrug* As for children, I don't really care for them to come back unless they're actually relevant (like FE4 or even FE13). The way they were put in Fates feels very forced-- I would've just rather seen the 'children' characters be their own characters not tied in by marriage and parents. If they do implement children characters again, hopefully they do it in a better way, but I feel like the mechanic has the potential to grow old pretty quickly...

I hope I don't have to poke him ever again *shoves him off to the side* I've more or less made sprites in a completely different style for a few years now and trying to switch gears entirely to FEGBA style (and back again) is difficult, so I'm trying to combine the two. Usually I sprite stuff like this: .... so I'm trying to kind of marry the two styles together a little bit. :'D That kinda led to the stylized manakete design for Roy, too. I don't have a lot of updates sprite-wise because of portfolio review for me being in like one week, but I have been working on some stuff here: takumi/elise/alm/marth/ike/soren volke/gerome/owain/minerva I only started on Takumi though, the others are still just idea thumbnails. :(

Redesigned how so? As in with earlier FE-style clothes and a different/older art style, or just earlier FE-style portraits of their current designs?

I have a big portfolio review coming up in the next week or so, so I'm trying to slip in a FE4 illustration. This is the sketch of it that I did in one of my classes yesterday (rather than paying attention, haha...) [spoiler= arvis and sigurd] and a close-up... ... and now colouring it sounds like it will be a nightmare...

Thanks guys :) I appreciate the kind words. as for path of radiance I love Soren a lot so he'll probably end up getting thrown in here at some point but been working on stuff today, an idea I had for a redesigned/updated Quan (with Gae Bolg and armor for funsies) : [spoiler=Quan (big)] ... though it's far from perfect, this is probably the first 'finished' character illustration i've done in a long time-- i feel way out of practice. thanks Quan for getting my butt in gear though :D

I do this a lot for other people whenever they come to my Gamestop looking for something we don't have in stock. A guy wanted a clear blue 2DS and I had to have it shipped to my store from a different store out of state, but we got it to him and he was pretty happy about it. Sometimes stores can decline to help, but I've personally never had that happen to me when asking for products to be shipped from one store to another. source: am GS employee and have done the thing. eta: you also won't pay any shipping or anything like that, since it's just getting sent from one store to another store. You just pay sticker price for the system like normal :)

I feel the same way, so hopefully higher support rank = more potential dialogue? That would be nice. However, I am glad that everything wasn't totally removed. That would've just been... well, sad. So this is a fair compromise for sure, at least imo. And it's something that can be built off of in the future prays for base conversations to be a thing again

Hell, I work at gamestop and I was even surprised to see that we got the keychains as preorder bonuses... We've got Figmas, Play Arts, Nendoroids and stuff now too, so it would be interesting if any more upcoming FE merch makes its way to our store shelves. :Y

It's entirely possible that she could come with a horse. Caeda's concept art didn't have a pegasus in it when she was first revealed (and iirc her pegasus didn't show up until they actually had a coloured prototype of the final nendoroid to show off), so there's that. And yeah, of course that would just make Elise more expensive, then. So GS might not do it unless they have confidence it will sell well.

also me ^ Ryoma and Marx nendos/figmas/scales when I wonder what she'll come with or what kind of nendo she'll be. The nendoroid for Caeda is amazing in that it comes with an actual mini pegasus, and Marth of course has Falchion... and they're both articulated. Either way, I was hoping Wonfes would show some kind of Fire Emblem something, and it did. Muh hype. Between all the FE stuff coming out along with Touken Ranbu, I'm... super broke but super happy hah.

hnnnngghghhh, he totally should have and he would've looked amazing if he did but alas... _(:'3 」∠)_ I will never give up hope, the karuta card game art gives me so much hope pls. Though I was just grateful enough he ended up in the DLC anyway, that was the best surprise ever for me -- As for Micaiah's pose, I can sit like that too, but it still doesn't change the fact that overall her design is awkward and not fitting for her character at all... Overall the main thing that bugs me about certain artworks is that they just don't match the character(s) they're supposed to represent. But only a small handful of them fall into that category for me, so most of the art I either really like or am okay with. eta: Yeah I'm willing to agree that that's probably why.

Just going to throw a thread in here for non-sprite art if that's okay ;-;... Uhm... Anyway... I like to design characters, so I'm kind of combing through primarily Fire Emblem Gaiden's/Genealogy's character lists and doing quick practice sketches of their designs in my own way. ... And then again... and again and again because I am indecisive... Roy, Ephraim and Alm are top tier imo those three are amazing as hell a+++ give me all of their outfits please wow Leif's is awesome too, really dynamic. It fits him well I think. ... and I actually really liked Ike's DLC art, with his being in my top five. It seems I'm in the minority on that one. ;y but I also like the Hero armor in Awakening too, so... Seliph's is pretty neat, not quite as striking as some of the others to me where is sigurd Eirika's is beautiful and well-drawn but I would've rather seen her as a different class than bride. But the art itself is a+ Marth is Marth. Which is a good thing. He looks great. Lyn looks really awesome too-- I don't really see a thing about "messed up legs" since the whole style of the picture itself is really... well, stylized and has a lot of movement, so the legs/feet don't bother me, personally. Celica and Micaiah don't really remind me of their characters at all. ;-; Celica in particular looks really... young. Well, so does Micaiah. Uh... Elincia doesn't really remind me of Elincia too much either, idk. Looks a little too magical girl meets Battle Network meets FE to me... xD Personally I think Katarina looks cool. *shrug* Grandmaster clothes look nice on her. Better than New Mystery's clothes, lol. Idk if I missed anyone, but eh. Those are off the top of my head. eta: re:pegasus sisters. Catria is awesome. Est has approximately 400 too many wrinkles in her clothes and boots and gloves. :c Palla has super dynamic shading and I love that art style. Really solid piece of artwork overall.

If you're able, I always find it helpful to flip the canvas to face the other direction once in a while when making faces and stuff to make sure they look OK. You can get so used to seeing a face from a certain direction (like facing left) that you don't really notice issues, so flipping it so it faces the opposite direction can give you a view of potential jarring problems with proportions or placement of facial features/hair/shoulders/pretty much anything. Anything that I would've said critique-wise, Tao has already said. Oh, I really like the design on the third one (the red, white, gold, and teal look good together). He reminds me of Al.
