  1. They were the shieldmaidens of Odin, and were responsible for taking the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla. Though, at times they would actually influence battles for the purpose of having worthy souls to take to Valhalla. So the class name might be poetic license on how they can decide who lives or dies by healing people, or setting them on fire.
  2. So, basically, he didn't want everything to go McCarthy when it came to political dealings.
  3. From what I understand, Arvis was blackmailed by the Loptyr cult into helping them be threatening to reveal he was a member of their bloodline. Except... They're the evil cult. Who's going to believe any accusations from them, especially against a noble who 's the leader of the capital's knights? Did I misunderstand something, or miss some important detail?
  4. I suggest you visit the FE subreddit then. Over anger at IS abandoning us, we're now Kirby shitposting. Soon we shall become one with r/kirby, and devour IS for their betrayal. But seriously, visit it. We got Kirby shitposts.
  5. You're really just supporting his point here. We haven't gotten any real news on FE16 at all.
  6. ... It took two years to finish part 2? I mean I can understand waiting for a final product before selling it overseas. But is Detective Pikachu really the kind of game that needs more than 2 years to finish making? Also, according to it's tvtropes page, it's going to be the last pokemon game on a handheld. So that's somewhat sombering.
  7. I care more about it than most of the stuff in this Direct. If only because Pikachu seems to be a funny character and the game isn't a DAMN PORT. Annoyed it took so long for it to get a western releases though. Wasn't it released in Japan like 2016 or something?
  8. Plus, it segway from the Octolings, so they're probably going to be in the new Smash as well.
  9. I think I only saw 3 new games. Octopath, the new smash bros, and the new Mario Tennis game. Don't gave a damn about sport games, and I suck at fighting games, so Octopath was the only interesting thing. Everything else was ports or updates, which just had me cringing. Like do we really fucking need an Undertale port. That game is so fucking overrated. EDIT: Also a new No More Heroes game, but I prefer story over gameplay, so not that interesting to me.
  10. Is it me, or are there too many ports and remakes/updates? Seriously, the lack of original IPs doesn't inspire confidence in me.
  11. Plus, they are nobility or something. Pretty sure by the values of their time or culture that it's a social obligation for them to have kids at one point to continue the bloodline.
  12. To that guy complaining about Mathilda's ending, while I agree it could be better, it happened due to Japanese values. Mainly, the Japanese view a women's role to be the caretaker of her home and family. It's the guy's job to be the provider, thus the women is expected to stop working and instead focus on looking after the kids. While sexist, it's also somewhat practical due to the work culture in Japan. And by work culture, I mean a culture where they have their own term for when somebody dies from working too much.
  13. I'm now convinced Conrad has Multi-Personality Disorder. Or what the correct term is, if I got it wrong.
  14. Judging by the last two FE games released, Warriors and Echoes, localization will take a month or so. It's actually weird how fast they got released in English. Fates took 8 months, while Awakening took ten. Though before Awakening, FE wasn't that popular in the West anyway.
  15. Well, I should probably say my thoughts on the results. I'm not surprised or salty about the male results. Except for Marth getting screwed by split votes. But that's more hatred for split votes screwing over characters than wanting Marth to win. Honestly, I'm fine with any combination of Marth, Hector or Ephiram winning. I'm more mixed on the female side. I'm surprised by Veronica, but as said above, it's going to be interesting to see what they do for her. Celica, I'm not a big fan of her due to Act 4 of her game, plus I think Echoes writing is a bit weak anyway, but at least she's not some fanservice-y character. I think Celica won due to how recent her game is, plus the lack of female protags and deuteragonists. On that front there is Lyn, Eirika, Caeda, Lilina, Micaiah, arguably the Avatars, the Fate siblings, and Azura. The last three probably didn't win due to how oversaturated Heroes are with characters from their game. Camila's an exception, since she was previously in second, but we all know that was due to many voting with their lower half, and not because they all liked her as a character. Lyn won the previous vote, so she was removed from this one. Eirika got an Alt while the voting took place, so that curbed people's enthusiasm for her. I do question the practicality of releasing an Alt during the vote though. Caeda suffered from split voting, though I'm not sure how high she would have ended up anyway. And for Lilina and Micaiah, not sure other than I know many people thought Micaiah was a crappy unit in her home game.
  16. Some are suspecting a cliche AU version that old Saturday morning cartoons would do. You know, good is bad, bad is good. Well, she's the first villain of the game, and people have been wanting to play her since the beginning. And considering how previous Braves all took details from their backgrounds, like their parentage, this could be her fans way of getting her more characterization or backstory. Plus there might be some memeing going on. Like, what would IS do for a Brave version of a villain? People might have voted for her out of curiosity on that regard.
  17. Whether or not these guys are pirates. The guy even made a post on the yugioh subreddit whining about how everyone was wrong for thinking they're pirates. Like, I can see his point, but you lose all credibility when you overreact like that. Just let us have our furry pirates damnit.
  18. Probably a misconception. Wouldn't be surprising if a medieval society deified, for lack of a better word, a famous figure in their history.
  19. Well the Scouring was less survival and more humanity being dicks to Dragons considering humans started it. Could be IS were afraid such a premise was too morally ambigious for them, or were afraid they couldn't live up to the hype of it. Same thing for Zephiel. Might have been afraid of making him too sympathetic. Also might be case of differing preferences between audiences. Japan's culture does have Confucian elements in it, so that might have been a factor.
  20. Marketability? I mean, you're playing as the parents of the previous protagonists. On paper, that sounds pretty cool. In execution, while the story is okay, it's like you said. It really doesn't add much to the setting. Though considering Ninian is implied to be Roy's mother, making him part dragon, there's a certain irony to Roy defeating Zephiel. Something that I would love to see brought up in a remake.
  21. And I think you need to to work on your reading skills. omegaxis1 proposed something similar, to which NinjaMonkey pointed out that Elibe dragons are never stated to work the same as dragons from other games.
