  1. I was sitting in my technical writing class refreshing my phone every few minutes as I had been since 11 am yesterday to see that Amazon finally opened up preorders. I left for a "bathroom break" to make sure I could get my order in before they sold out. Good thing, too. If I had waited until the end of the class period, I would have been out of luck.
  2. If it weren't for Robin, I wouldn't have gone past the demo for Awakening, and never would have gotten interested in Fire Emblem. If they do add an avatar, however, it ought to be fairly unimportant, so that they don't have to tamper too much with actual main characters' roles. Just a perspective character, really.
  3. I was thinking it might be cool to have a naval warfare aspect. Sort of like Jugdral's multiple castles you have to capture, except they're ships, can move, and when you attack, it triggers one of the typical boarding party-style maps depending on your positioning when you laid the planks to board them. And then there could be different classes of ships like fast but small boats with few weapons and small boarding parties, huge, slow-moving flagships with massive crews, or even some boats you could throw away as hellburners like Robin did against the Valmese fleet in Awakening.
  4. I pronounce it like it's spelled. I'm really more confused by how it's not a dark tome along with Nosferatu.
  5. I figured out the stealth gimmick fairly easily, but I was suckered into the red door by Mikoto. I didn't see the point of her lying now: an explosion and enemy rush to start is no better or worse than one at the end. So I went along. I thought it was extremely stupid until I learned Anankos's backstory and saw that he has a secondary obsession with proving to Corrin that trusting people is for sissies.
  6. I like all the blanks I can fill in for myself. While it means the story is weaker at face value, it lets my imagination take the wheel, which is part of why I seldom complain about the story, and why I actually like Conquest's story best, because there's more room for conflict than in Birthright.
  7. "My darkness was darker than yours!" I like Ophelia best, primarily because I like Owain. There is some difference between them, as I feel Ophelia performs because she imitates her father, while he did it to cope, but the difference isn't enough for me to really say she's original. I just like her. Soleil, on the other hand, hits all the wrong notes. Inigo wasn't so bad because he was always failing and everybody called him out on it, and because he knew when to get serious, much like Owain. There's nothing salvageable about Soleil in my eyes.
  8. S-rank supports are usually rotten anyway, so I don't concern myself with them. If there's one I don't really want, but I enjoy the C-A, I'll just go up to A.
  9. As a Jagen, yes, he's meant to be that way. [spoiler=Revelation]But given his role in Revelation, I wish he were more useful there.
  10. Maybe so Charlotte's personal skill has a point? The only problem with maids being a base class is that they use both staves and daggers. No other base class uses staves + anything, and cavaliers are pretty much the only base class of any kind that uses more than one weapon type anyway.
  11. I never had much of a problem with immersion for maids or butlers. After all, they've had clerics and priests following the armies around for ages, and those non-soldier classes couldn't even defend themselves. Besides, it's pretty clear in Fates that they're only partly servants, and the other part bodyguards. And I'm not certain I want them to drop the maid/butler theme for them. Or at least for butler. I find the butler animations amusing. The maids' animations are kinda meh, though.
  12. I'm guessing most of the Hoshido classes will either be gone or will only ever reappear with a more European style that fits the settings of most FE games, but I like the ninja class, and I would like to see it continue somehow anyway. As a matter of fact, I'd say I'd like both of the basic hidden weapons classes to return (ninja and maid/butler).
  13. The Blood Pact suffers from the same problems that Conquest's does. It's very obviously a plot device used to turn the heroes against each other and to make a good person do horrible things with some kind of justification. The problem is that neither situation is very well thought out, and ignores many logical loopholes. I think RD does it a little better than Conquest, since Blood Pacts are explained a little better, but they still fall short.
