  1. Name: Hugh Otr Nationality: Adrestian Birthdate: Pegasus 14 Social status: Commoner/tradesman Occupation: Merchant sailor Strengths: Brawl, Axe, Lance Weaknesses: Heavy Armor, Riding, Flying Interests: Swimming, hiking, sailing, summer Dislikes: Pirates, heavy clothing, winter A young man raised on the western bay of the Empire, he quickly became enamored of the rivers and seas, and so devoted his youth to the his fathers merchant business, fostering trade between the Empire and Albinea. It was his father's ships that plied the waters carrying dignitaries from the Empire to Brigid as well, during the negotiations that brought Petra into the Imperial court Hugh hates overburdening his body with heavy coats or armor, as it hampers buoyancy should a man go overboard. As such, he hates the winter, and his own birth moon. His disdain for the cold keeps him clear of the Kingdom when he can help it, but his business doesn't afford him the luxury of harboring political grudges or racial biases above his duty to keep the tributes to his nation flowing. He gets along especially well with the Brigids, and can even speak a little of their native language. Hugh loves nature and especially the sea. He has come to Garreg Mach to learn to protect his land by entering the burgeoning Imperial Navy, which has long guarded ships like his and his fathers from pirate attacks.
  2. I haven't been here in three years! Sorry about that! I'm back with a unique profile picture, and a renewed fervor for Fire Emblem!
  3. Lakeside Park is okay. Now, off the same album, Fountain of Lamneth, is great. It has hints of the greatness that will inform Rush's later long-form prog suites, like the famed 2112, and my favorite, Hemispheres. It tells an entire life's story in 20 minutes, with a killer drum riff to represent the tempest of teenage years. Seriously, go look up Didacts and Narpets if you haven't already heard it!
  4. I've read of the differences in paths frequently in the days before release, and have a statement/suggestion/question. I've been playing Birthright LIKE Conquest. That is to say, I've engaged in no optional battles. It can't change the fundamentally lower difficulty, but it helps make the game that much tougher, knowing I can't (won't) be able to powerlevel for the game. Anybody else on this forum doing something similar, first run or otherwise?
  5. Thank you for the kind and generous words, Ms. Strober. I have a signifigant other, and he's deeply supportive of me, most especially in this time of recovery for me. Music was always very important to me and my absent friend, and I only wish he could have heard your song before he left. I have since last post, made progress getting better. I'll always miss my friend, but the friends I have in life, and the friends I have here, are still here. I won't be disappearing into grief on them anytime soon. Thank you all for the help. And Ms. Rena, keep on shining.
  6. Got them both, and put them both in favorites to be shuffled between. You can bet if they do a revelations one I'll throw that in too
  7. T + 1:53 My impressions up to ch 4, VERY impressive. the story has a couple surprises even with all the info I've gleaned from previews. I'm witholding judgement on which side I take until I play Ch 4-6 tomorrow. I gota get to sleep, got company coming before my shift at work.

  9. I deeply feel for our bretheren Emblemeers in Europe. Hopefully the date they anounce will be sooner rather than later for yas. This wait alone, tonight, is agony. Speaking of which... T-3:00 And Kaze, I LOVE your shirts.
  10. Yeah, go with Sol. Only thing better than Sol ( and Gregor can't have it ) Is Aether.
  11. I'd like to attach a rider question if I may: When facing a streetpass army in My Castle, do units lost there die/retire in your main game as well?
  12. Wow, just listened to the english version of the theme today, and here I come to the threads and find the actual singer has come and given her thanks here! To Rena and to all Emblemeers in the forum: This song means a lot to me, having listened to it in a time of great struggle for me. The song's beauty and message of hope, and the realization that life is two-sided comes at a time when I've had a long time friend recently pass away. The song touches me deeply, in that regard. The line "even the thorn in your heart may in time become a rose", especially helps me. Despite the plethora of people around me, I feel that friend's loss deeply as yet. I see reminders of him every day. This song, however, and it's lovely singer, give me hope that I'll stop hurting quite so much sometime soon. So, deeply and thoroughly, Rena Strober, and all my friends here in the Forest, thank you for being here.
