Do remember that the translation currently do not translate support conversations. And the Japanese Limited Edition does not include the 3rd path (Invisible Kingdom) so you'll need access to the JPN shop to be able to download it and do a rather complicated series of things to extract and then patch the said DLC. Plus do remember that you'll need a 3DS with a CFW to use the patched DLC otherwise it will not work as far as I know...

Yeah Sky3DS is only for piracy but it does work over 9.2 as far as I know that is the only reason I talked about it... ^_^;

Some do such as the Sky3DS, as for the Gateway you need to be in official firmware 9.2 maximum for your system nand to make it work but you can use a emunand currently up to firmware 10.6.

Nope you're not good to go. You need an homebrew launcher to use the patch. I invite you to scroll up to Czar_Yoshi's post explaining how to get homebrew working. If you can do it, I don't know which OFW (if you are on an official firmware) allows to use homebrew and which don't.
