  1. Whilst true, Awakening and Fates established the worlds connecting through the Outrealm Gates. It wouldn't be too farfetched to assume that events that Chrom is able to reference in Awakening's DLC, like who each of the important legendary heroes are, stems from his education and that characters that travelled in their established endings, such as Ike, may simply have helped to establish these historical events that Chrom learned about through simple information sharing. So with that in mind, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that every Fire Emblem is perhaps related to the others in some way. At the very least, it'd be possible to bring them together. Who knows? Pretty soon we might end up with a character that serves as the Fire Emblem. Now wouldn't that be interesting? Of course it's merely an idea on what may be the case but you never really know how some things may be explained away later on.
  2. Something personally tells me that involving Robin is a large stretch. Considering that in Awakening's content itself, Robin is never visually displayed in cutscenes and is easily customizable. No official artwork of Robin exists from Awakening itself and it's only after their inclusion in Smash that they became more officially associated with their default appearances. Even at that, Validar stated that it was more along the lines of careful planning to ensure that Robin was born with the capacity to be Grima's vessel. Building on this, it's incredibly flimsy since every Branded has a Laguz and Beorc parent or ancestor in their heritage. Even then, that's kinda awkward since it seems to be relatively uncommon knowledge on Tellius of how easy it could potentially be to create a Branded. Ashnard had no idea but several people seem to have otherwise known what it meant. At the very least it seemed to be information held by libraries as those well studied enough seem to have grasped the information. The only real connection I can think of is brands connecting to sacred relics in Three Houses but in Tellius, the only Branded with any special abilities is Micaiah who seems to have genetically inherited the Heron's ability to to heal those around them. If anything, the Crest and Weapon connection is probably best served by Chrom and Lucina in Awakening since we know they have Brands and the ability to wield Falchion. That being said, wouldn't the Crest/Weapon connection be much more realistically calling back to Genealogy and Thracia where the characters having Major Holy Blood were able to use the respective Holy Weapons associated with them? (Haven't had much experience with FE4 and FE5 so I'm hoping some experts will pick up the slack I left here.) All in all, I think that the listed "direct connections" to other games are merely references at best.
  3. Sothe (FE9/FE10) Subaki (FE14) The Black Knight (FE0/FE10) Gerome (FE13) Ewan (FE8) They're not my absolute favourites but I wanted some variety to give. Subaki's here for the sole purpose of variety though.
  4. Given how Three Houses has turned out, I'd love to see both games get a similar treatment to it. I certainly wouldn't deem it necessary but I'd eagerly appreciate the freedom to experience an updated Tellius with perhaps some expanded lore and/or additional side chapters to further flesh out certain details for what we already know. Additional points if we get to see background on what was going on with certain characters before we first meet them. Like, what lead Sothe to being in Port Toha in West Crimea when he lives in Daein? Or maybe what happens with regards to Elincia, Kieran, Geoffrey and so on before Elincia was rescued by Ike. I get that it was explained, albeit relatively vaguely, but actually getting to see it would be a treat, I think.
  5. Had it not been for Lucina's interference, Chrom would've suffered several injuries that would've hindered his general ability to fight as normal due to the assassination attempts made on him. But that's future Chrom so he doesn't really count because he has to deal with being dead. Since you never specifically specified that they had to be physical: Awakening's kids have to deal with severe PTSD, easily. There's no way they could've gotten over that in the span of the time they had as part of the army. Wouldn't be too surprised if some (if not all) of them were also considered clinically depressed because of the shit they had to endure. Fates' kids likely suffered feelings of abandonment. Shigure also had the whole survivor's guilt thing, though it's hardly elaborated on, much like Cordelia in Awakening. I'll have to think more deeply on this later. It's certainly thought provoking.
  6. I'll have to try that. Though I don't usually need to write things down so maybe I should start writing out tactics for various FE games in it... This caught me off guard and made me smile.
  7. That's kinda sad. Although I admit that I didn't expect to find anyone that did so this is a pleasant surprise. How did you go about starting to learn?
  8. I'm genuinely curious about whether or not anybody's actually tried to master reading the language as opposed to just referring to the translations on the site here. Perhaps just for fun or whatever. It'd be kinda fun to have it as a random font for use in the forums or something but I'm just throwing around random ideas at this point.
  9. I've gone with Emmeryn. Haven't had the luxury of playing Three Houses long enough to become intricately familiar with Rhea so I can't actively speak for her but by comparison between Emmeryn and Mikoto, Emmeryn's around long enough to establish her core beliefs and isn't brought back to life by some simply to torture the lord at any point in the story. Emmeryn doesn't need to be recruited in as a Bonus character and as a result, stands above Mikoto whose sole purpose was to be the most vague thing in Fates barring Arete and Sumeragi.
  10. Ha ha! Yes, it will take some getting used to! No special reason... except maybe how it was used here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7-Qay-RYys I'm also a bit of a sucker for: You may call me Marth And what if I can't? What if I'm not worthy of her ideals? Dry your tears love, this is not goodbye Id (Serenity) Id (Hope) Id (Purpose) Lost in Thoughts All Alone/Lost in the Waves The Edge of Dawn Conquest (Ablaze) Destiny (Ablaze) Eternal Bond Winning Road/Roy's Hope Victory is Near Reminiscence (Blazing Blade's specifically. Fates has a song with the same title and I seem to recall them being nothing alike) Girl of the Plains Time To Act Together We Ride The whole franchise's main theme anthem as a whole The Smash Bros. Brawl rendition of the anthem (I'm only counting it seperately because it was made for a different game series but is still a Fire Emblem song) And finally, the only one I'm actively going to share as a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXp_Nv1fMDQ There's still others I like but these are the only ones I could remember by name and some of those were shaky too!
  11. Not sure whether or not to label this as "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" or "Other" but I really like the full version that features the missing verse. The sad thing is, that neither character that sings it actually performed a full version of it. I'd have loved that.
  12. Not as a staple but I certainly wouldn't mind the idea of a teacher-student dynamic in a school-setting again. There are some improvements that need to be made to the formula, if only minor ones, but somewhere down the line or perhaps even as the next game in some kind of sequel form or something they could do it again. Something as a staple I'd like to see is the freedom to use any weapon regardless of your specialty types. But still locking magic to magic-proficient classes like Mage or Dark Knight.
  13. You could try out Dark Knight (Totally nothing to do with how that class seems to be aimed at me) since its usage of Swords seems to have been swapped for Lances after 2 games offensive Magic is always fun too. 😃
  14. The way I see this is that even if they DON'T have Playable villains, the Black Knight could be playable given how he seemed to be a Neutral party but was still very much playable in Radiant Dawn as protagonist in parts. Protecting Micaiah, helping the Dawn Brigade fend off the Greil Mercenaries in the woods, even showing up randomly as an ally in Part 4 just to help Micaiah's Army. He's a major antagonist in PoR but I don't see his RD presence as villainous at all. Especially since he even provides context to his apparent murder of Greil. If you want playable "villains" go Ashnard. I bet he'd be a literal blast to play in Warriors.
  15. In fairness to that view, we need some non-royal characters from Fates if possible. Oboro and Niles, don't get much to themselves. At least Oboro carries something to set her apart. But the fact that literally every Fates character is a Royal barring those 2 is a bother. The only Awakening character we need to spice things up a bit might be Vaike if we're looking at variety in movesets. While his would be similar to what Lissa got, it'd make sense for why their moves are similar. But for the most part I stand against it. Some Three Houses, Tellius, Jugdral and Valentia characters would be plenty to spice things up a bit. with the existing characters still there.
  16. Don't be afraid to be patient with your planning and triple check your moves. It can be tempting to move a unit right away but if you don't properly check how the enemy moved, you could be unintentionally opening yourself up to a big retaliation.
  17. I'd probably just want to exchange Isabelle for Dante. She was fine as an assist trophy and had a helpful effect.
  18. After learning of the Legendary Pokémon's designs, I wanted no more to do with Sword and Shield until release but this information is just too significant to pass up. #BringBackNationalDex is actually trending on Twitter and I even had a (relatively lengthy) piece to say about it. Parts of it may seem a bit rambly but I'm just really passionate about the National Pokédex being an option to complete in the games.
  19. Granted but the room will never hit the perfect temperature unless you're sick. I wish my body temperature was always perfect and unaffected by temperature regardless of location or collective temperature in the immediate area.
  20. Honestly, this whole topic's been fun. It'd be nice to see it last much longer if more people come in to do it.
  21. I want to request myself because it'd be easy but I know that people will get mad if I do that...
  22. So you can get all of the Lancer with none of the armour/flier/beast/dragon weaknesses. You get better Movement than with armours, which means you don't have to transport them via other units and they're pretty much as effective as their Sword and Axe counterparts. The REAL question is: "Why are they not more common?" I mean, I get that the units you recruit are from all over the continent but you'd think you'd get SOMEONE with that class from yours or the enemy's side, right? I echo this question.
  23. I don't typically see many ads because I have very little interaction with the world at large so the weirdest one that I can think of is probably this:
