Seeing as people are wondering why Effie is at S-rank, imo she's that good. Her bad movement at the start is a blessing in most case, not everything has to go sonic fast, and in any case promoting her to GK solves her problem afterwards. Effie is basically great from start to finish, she has the power + defensive capabilities to hold chokepoints with ease. Unless your Effie really took the rng growth badly, she has good-great overall stats. In my first playthrough with the jap copy, Effie saved many of my dying characters with shelter and surviving onslaught. She's doing the exact same thing in my recent playthrough in the NA copy, being able to withstand 1st-turn waves to bait enemies closer to my team and share exp to others is S-rank in my eyes.

S rank looks solid. Xander/Camilla are the best two units in the game. Leo and Corrin belongs there with there powerful character only weapon. Effie is basically just great, joins early in the game and when promoted loses her only flaw which is her low MOV. Good at giving hits and taking hits. Just a very very solid unit overall. For Jakob/Felicia, tbh it really depends, I always play as a guy so I get Felicia and for my 2 playthrough, Felicia has been a monster. Heal + Flame Shuriken, she's one of my most versatile unit. >I see a character I can't OHKO or just a tank unit >move felicia in, use Flame Shuriken >-res/def >let my other unit pick off the opposing character She's very solid and deserving of her rank.

I know how this feel, in my two Conquest run so far, Kaze kept getting RNG screwed. At least Midori didn't take up after her father :')

She was never stopped, she had free reign to kill anyone who looked at her weirdly, her own father figure let her massacre servants. It goes for the real world, people kill because there are times where they were never led into the straight path or they grew up in the wrong up bringing. Do you have to sympathize? No, but there was a reason why Peri has such bloodlust and all I did was to post it to show other poster who never saw her support with Laslow and might wonder why she has an intense love for bloodlust.

I can answer that, Peri plays on the crazy type chick trope. As shocking as it is, some people do like 2d crazy chicks. *raise hand mid-way* I mean Peri is bat-**** insane but I do find her cute and her love for bloodshed is shruggable to me since I have watched lots of anime with insane girls *looks at School Day*

I remember playing the jpn Conquest and half of my team were RNG screw'd. NA Conquest has been blessed to me though, my Peri in this game has been a complete monster though :')

I kinda biased of the Nohr siblings since I played the JP version of Conquest & now playing NA Conquest. I skipped birthright twice already and have Revelation all ready to go once I finish my Nohr playthrough, so I won't judge Hoshido sibling cause I only know their appearances from Conquest side. Camilla > Leo > Elise/Xander

No I'm pretty sure its people continually getting their ass kicked by Chapter 10 and 17 (to lesser extent, chapter 5, 8) Well said, Fates return to the roots of the older FE while still catering to those who wants to play their game with easy out. Just because its easy to cheat yourself doesn't mean other people does. Fates has been regarded has having a very polished gameplay because when you play the game as intended, especially conquest, its on-par with the difficulty of those of the older FE games. Awakening in the other hand only has an artificial difficulty, Lunatic+? Yeah you can say that Lunatic+ is hard but why? Because it gives NPC ridiclous skill that people have to reset the game to avoid. It doesn't come out as a natural difficulty. Conquest basically caters to those who wants a real challenge but not to the point the game is cheating to challenge you. There is your reason why "hardcore" fans defends Conquest. And your so called "I can just buy someone else's unit and smash the game", have you seen people gloating that they smash the game with someone else's character? I haven't. Did I & Many others uses super genetic min-maxing children to fight against Lunatic+? Yes. People are enjoying Conquest because you don't need a ridiclous min-maxing or pray to the RNG that they don't give NPC ridiclous skills to beat the game. Awakening's Hard is like playing Conquest in Normal. There's a reason why beating chapter 10 in hard without losing anyone feels like an accomplishment, because it takes an actual strategy to beat stages compare to Awakenings broken pair-up that you can just clear stages with ease.

Min-maxing was never a thing in the older FE, you can Min-Max in Birthright/Revelation but in Conquest? The only true way to grind is the exp dlc and while you can get the gold dlc, anyone who doesn't can't truly exploit the myCastle to get every skills + eternal seal (which is expensive) to max their characters, it's already hard to min-max character in Conquest. Its become commonly accepted that min-maxing should be left for the third path because min-maxing in Conquest will take a very long time. The statement of "hardcore fans are so busy getting off thinking IS made something just for them that they'll ignore reality anyways" is just plain ridiclous. Play chapter 10 of Conquest in Hard/Classic or Lunatic/Classic which most veterans are doing and struggling to do the first time. >but muh castle You can barely afford anything when you get to chapter 10. It's not until higher chapter where the game gets generous giving you money. Is Mycastle abusable? For sure, its easy to abuse is Birthright/Revelation, but thinking that buying a 2k-3k (aptitude alone cost 3k per character, while higher skills can got to 1k+) can easily make you sweep the game is just ridiclous. So just because its harder to min-max, it means the game is more waifu pandering? Both games punishes you by losing a child if you don't marry anyone that isn't corrin-sexual, nor the game ever pushed the marriage in the plotline. If you visit different message boards, the game is more immerse in discussion because of the different roadblocks the game throws at you. There's also the fact that Corrin doesn't create super genetic war machine like Robin did in Awakening. Kanna isn't even one of the best kids in Fates, unlike Morgan + his/her Sibling. Again that's what I seen from the other 3 FE places I post, there are generally less discussion about waifu/husbando, everyone is too focused on trying to clear certain stages that some forget that marriage is even in the game.
