  1. Thanks for the leg work. This means that it is likely the skills with the lowest proc rate that go through the check first. Regardless it's good to know the exact priority and viability of these builds. I appreciate all of the help from everyone who has contributed to this thread.
  2. Rofl. Well that answers some questions. So you could reach 100% theoretically, doing so would just be infinitely more impractical.
  3. I would have to guess that it's additive. Multiplicative would seem like to large of an oversight (100% lethality). Here's also why I am so keenly interested in skill priority. If you have two units with maxed out skill stat (35 for the sake of argument) the chance of procing rend heaven is 52.5%. With quixotic its 82.5%. If it there are two instances of quixotic and they stack it's 100%. With that said this may be a way to de-fuse skill based units. Say if we have two units with quixotic and they both have a skill stat of 35. Let's also say that the defending unit has rend heaven and the attacking unit doesn't. If the defending unit is proc stacking with skills like aether and lethality in addition to rend heaven this may create an opportunity for the attacking unit to "safely" engage the defending unit. Assuming multiple instance of quixotic stack, the defending unit has 100% rend heaven proc rate. If the game prioritizes this check first (for whatever reason) they will always use rend heaven. This means they will never use lethality or aether effectively making them "dead skills" that are completely useless whenever they engage other units with quixotic. It may be a good defense against quixotic and proc stacking builds and may be something to consider when contemplating skills for end game units.

  5. I have thought about how one would approach this though I thought of doing the opposite. Taking a unit (like a sniper) with max skill and rend heaven and exhaustively testing to see if rend heaven procs every time. Theoretically you could get rend heaven to 100% proc rate. If you get even one case in which rend heaven doesn't proc then you have your answer. Problem truly being what has priority if it does? Would it be highest activation rate? Lowest activation rate? Order of skills on character sheet? Those are the answers I am truly interested in. And please do keep me posted on what you find out. I'll let you know as well if I get anywhere.
  6. So I don't know if anyone has had the time to exhaustively test this yet but, does anyone know if quixotic stacks? By this I mean, if both the attacking and defending units have quixotic are the bonuses received doubled? If so then this leads to many other questions like, "what skills are checked for activation first during combat?"

I'm aware, I'm saying that it's useful because if you do get into a situation in which she survives a near fatal hit on the enemy's turn it could prevent them from benefiting from quixotic before Selena does. So you're right, vantage doesn't benefit from quixotic. Quixotic benefits from vantage.
  8. Unfortunately, the math gets pretty muddy once you get past second gen. In order to run that equation i would have to know every last support decision you have made in the game so far. That information would also have to be exhaustive (you couldn't leave a single thing out or it might throw things off). So before I answer understand that these options are at a glance and are by no means determinate. Your choices will have an impact on how good these choices really are. Mitama - a good all round unit. Her base growths are decent and would support Kana well. The only exception is her resistance which would just be something to work around or to correct via her parentage. Classes are based on parentage. Caeldori - Very much like Mitama except her growths arent quite as good. Kana's magic would suffer greatly and she has the same problem with her resistance as Mitama. Do it if you really like her character or potential class inheritance but she is far from optimal. Soleil - I laughed good and hard when I saw this one. Not because she's bad (I wouldn't recommend her if she was), but because she would make Kana a physical monster especially if Soleil's mother is Effie. Soleil is tied for the highest Str stat in the game and has classes and caps to match. She has the added benefit of having extremely well balanced defenses and amazing offense. Her one weakness is magic, Kana would never be able to use magic under any conditions and if she did it would be embarrassing. If you want a Kana that says, "screw magic" and simply walks around the battlefield tanking and destroying everything in sight you would be hard pressed to find a better candidate. Nina - A very balanced unit. Her problem is her base defense needs to be corrected for her to be a great candidate. The problem with correcting her defense is you could inadvertently screw up her growths and caps by giving her the wrong mother.
  9. In my opinion, here's the priority of skills based on whether or not you use quixotic. Quixotic Skills 1. Vantage 2. Lethality 3. Rend Heaven 4. Sol 5. Luna 6. Astra 7. Vengeance (do not use if you have Sol equipped) Standard Skills 1. Savage Blow 2. Death Blow 3. Lifetaker 4. Bowfaire 5. Swordfaire 6. Trample 7. Miracle 8. Awakening 9. Tomebreaker 10. Swordbreaker 11. Lancebreaker 12. Shurikenbreaker 13. Countermagic 14. Counter Now here's why I think it should be this way. Quixotic increases the hit rate and skill activation of both units involved in combat. Meaning that if you end up fighting an enemy that is either on the difficulty of Hard and up or player made characters, you might run into some serious issues. Because of that I would never recommend taking quixotic without taking lethality (since this gives you an increased chance of killing your target outright) and vantage (because if you get into a tight spot this can really turn things around). This leaves you with 2 slots still available, one of these should have a sustain skill or breaker skill to offset incoming damage. If you took a breaker skill you can double down and take another to make yourself more defensive. If that doesn't appeal to you then take an offensive skill like Rend Heaven which has a fantastic proc rate of skill x1.5 (plus quixotic). I don't personally like quixotic unless it's on a unit with above average skill to begin with. On characters like Saizo, it basically guarantees that something activates (usually resulting in a OHK). Certain skills like Awakening have only limited usefulness due to the fact that they require the unit to be below half HP in order for it to work. At this rate Selena has a better chance of being dead, than at half HP. In a nutshell, a little of column A and a little of column B.
  10. Actually it's not even as bad as that. You have -1 one to your caps in luck/def/res and -5% in your growth rates to those same areas. You have +4 to your strength cap and +2 to your skill cap with +15% strength and +5% skill as bonus growth rates. Depending on which version of the game you're playing I believe you have 4 decent options. Nohr Camilla - Is who I would go with. Her growths and max stats make her ideal to keep Kana balanced but powerful. Her stats compliment Kana perfectly and grant her access to Wyvern Lord and Malig Knight. This is ideal as Malig Knight has excellent offensive abilities while swordbreaker cures Kana's innate weakness to wyrmslayers. The downside being is it cheats another character out of a kid. Flora - Is good at all the things you're bad at and her stats largely round off Kana's without cutting her off to badly in terms of classing options. Her biggest selling point is by far the fact that she allows you to get all of the children. This is because Flora can't marry anyone else. Unfortunately, rounding Kana's stats means she isn't particularly good or bad...just kind of mediocre, especially for a 2nd gen unit. Hoshido Oboro - Fixes anything that could have ever been wrong with Kana's stats. Her growth rates are basically a slightly weaker version of Camilla and her max stats are decent. She falls flat in terms of reclassing. Since you're a spearfighter to begin with that means Kana would get the apothecary class from Oboro which is just amazingly awful when you have to look at the endgame. Going with Oboro would basically force you to get Kana to an A+ rank support ASAP to be any kind of useful later on. Scarlet - Nerfed Camilla. That's basically all there is to it. She has decent growths and max stats and Kana doesn't lose nearly as much here as she would with Flora. She also gets access to the same classes she would if Camilla were her mother. The added benefit is that this is another unit that can only support the Avatar to S rank which means marrying Scarlet gets you all of the kids without having to compromise.That said, Kana will still not be as good here as she would be with Camilla. If your in Birthright this is not a bad choice. Hope that helps.
  11. I really wouldn't make Severa a bow knight especially not one that relies on skills that proc based on how high her skill is. As a bow knight your looking at 40% growth rate in skill if you make her a bow knight. That said you could pump her with secret books to max her skill but she suffers from a -1 penalty to her max skill no matter what class she becomes. If you have your heart set on bow knight, things that ignore proc rates are good (aggressor/savage blow/faire skills) things that depend on it are to be avoided imo.
  12. So I created a basic "skill pool" for all the characters in Fates. Below you can find all of the skills each character has access too before S and A+ rank supports. This list assumes that you are only using Heart Seals to reclass and doesn't include any dlc yet. It is also important to note that child characters in this list only have what is available to them based on their father. Giving the children different mothers will give them access to a variety of skills based on the mother's primary class (there are exceptions to this, please read the "Children" section of this page for details: http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/hoshidan-characters/class-sets/). There is a txt file attached to this post if you would like to create personalized pools for your characters or for general editing. I am open to new ideas to make this list better and more comprehensive. Please let me know what you think.
