In case anyone's wondering.

I'm taking a permanent leave from the forums. It was a fun time, but after that reply I got that prompted my final two posts on the boards, I don't feel comfortable posting here anymore. I made a post showing something rather personal about myself and I got a reply that really felt like a gut punch, because it implied that I was lying or didn't know any better.

I don't intend to cause any drama on the community so I'm posting these final words and leaving it at that. To all the good people I met on the boards: Thank you for a good time and for speaking with me. I'm still on Discord and Twitter, if anyone's interested.

To the people of the Discord community I left (You know which one):

I originally left the community because, as I told the community's admin privately, I wasn't really enjoying the discussion. Some of you probably remember some of the incidents, like particularly the ones involving Smash leaks. In the end, I wasn't really feeling the mood in the Discord, yet I kept returning because the majority of the posters were great people and I still could have a nice time every now and then.

But the last straw came when I talked to a person from the Discord privately through DM. I told that person something that was rather delicate, but not really private (it was information that was posted on the SF forums that was a couple of years old, but a delicate topic that was long over), and that person decided to use that information on SF for no other reason than to troll and stir up trouble. That... really bothered me. I can tolerate people being aggressive and even insulting me on the Internet because I can shove it aside, but breaking my trust like that, I'm sorry, but I just can't be on the same community with someone who does that kind of thing. So I left the Discord.

A couple of months after that I decided it's been a while and returned to the Discord, but after only a few hours, I left again. First, I want to heavily apologize to everyone on the Discord for doing this. You guys welcomed me back with open arms and I basically told you all to get lost. I hope you guys believe me when I say that I feel terrible for doing that, because I really do.

But here's why I left the second time. Out of curiosity (and this was probably a huge mistake), I checked some messages made on the Discord shortly after I left the first time. Most messages were people just being curious why I left and the admin passing down what I told them privately, which was okay. I was glad me leaving was kept low-profile. However, I noticed that the one person that actually caused me to leave the Discord mentioned that we had never talked to each other privately.

I was honestly pretty shocked at the comment. Maybe that person forgot, but it would have been so easy to just check the DMs so I find it rather hard to believe. But then again why even make the comment? I would have been even easier to just stay quiet. Either way, it made me realize that some people might claim to be on your side when they're with you, but as soon as you're out of the picture, they bite you in the ass. And sometimes, it only takes one person to completely ruin a community. I just couldn't be a part of the group anymore after that.

Once again, I want to apologize to everyone for leaving the Discord without notice not once but twice. This explanation is here to address that, because you guys deserve it, and also for my own peace of mind. This situation has been bothering me for months, and after discussing it with myself I felt that this was the best way to handle it. Also, if anyone chooses to reply to this, I appreciate not to bring any names or dirty laundry in here. Surely those involved know which group I'm talking about, but I've kept all the names out for reasons that should be obvious.
