  1. - Hinata Astra-ing 5 units in a row, leaving said 5 units dead as door-nails. Bless him. He is like, the Astra king. - Shigure dodging and Critting 3 units in a row. All axe-wielding, death-guaranteed hits. Thank you, RNGoddess. - Out of boredom, I paired Hana up with Hinata on a paralogue map (not sure which, it was quite some time ago). They killed everyone and dodged everything. - Swordmaster Caeldori VS Master of Arms. The lovely MoA managed a hit with 11%, leaving Caeldori with 4HP. Luckily, Astra activated. - In an experimental wireless battle, everyone on my team except Nina and Mitama were dead. Enemy attacks Nina - okay, sure. And then, Rend Heaven activates and she crits, killing the enemy. Random stuff - Enemy getting in that 14% crit on Siegbert. - Subaki critting often despite really low crit rates (I don't understand how he works as a unit. How on earth...?) - Jakob missing a 98% hit I'm pretty sure there's others.. Can't recall.
  2. Skip if you just want the link to my fic in progress at the end, or you can just click the link after my answer to Q1. 1. What routes are you working on? Is it an amalgamation of all three? Is it an alternate universe style retelling? Revelations. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't combine Birthright and Conquest stories. So here's me trying to rewrite that and fill in the missing lore while I'm at it, along with a bunch of stuff. Basically the entire "canon" story. You can take a look at my fic here. 2. What notable changes would you make to the plot? Are problematic elements (the curse, the magic throne, the crystal ball, operation tears, Nohr and Hoshido being too black and white, everything Aqua does) going to be addressed? Are there any themes to be communicated over each route? What is the overall direction and "point" of each route? Yes. All (if I can squeeze all - though I'll do my damndest to try) of them are going to be addressed. There will be hints of both Birthright and Conquest routes. Other elements include: time travel, a lot of old magic, reworking of the children + Deep Realms thing as well as miscellaneous issues. 3. What notable changes would you make to the characters? What is Kamui all about (background, personality, abilities)? What is Aqua all about (personality, role in the plot)? What are the Hoshidan and Nohrian siblings all about (personalities, roles in the plot)? What is Garon, Mikoto, Lilith or any other important character all about? What is Hydra all about (role in the plot)? What changes will be made to minor characters? Kamui is definitely more proactive and head-strong in the story as she has the knowledge from both routes. Hence, a lot of changes have been and will be made. She'll fight, but on her own terms this time. Aqua and the royals will also have more proactive roles, to say the least. Can't say more as I'd spoil later chapters. If you've seen my headcanon about Anankos in the Alternate Story Ideas thread, you may or may not know where I'll go with it. Though, it's subject to change. 4. What notable changes would you make to the setting? What ideas do you have for world building? What kind of history does this continent have? What is the balance of natural and supernatural elements? Are the Faceless and invisible enemies in your story? I am toying with bringing Awakening characters/verse into Fates, though it is currently unlikely as there's a huge cast of characters already. Again, subject to change. It'd be tricky, but doable. For history, please click this link. It'll refer you to my post in the Alternate Story Ideas thread. Subject to change. Elements... Secret, sorry. Still mulling over this, but probably not. 5. Do any characters die? Leaning towards the "Yes". Don't kill me, please. 6. Do you introduce any new characters? Maybe a few. Not too many, of course. 50-50. 7. Are any characters going to be cut? I'll probably cut out the children. Not sure about this yet. =========================== If you just want the link to my fic, click here.
  3. They should really clarify that. The DVs that you activate move enemy units, not your own. When your units are positioned in places that the winds are present, however, then it'll be them that'll be moved. Took me a bit to figure out the pattern. We all have our days. Like when RNG is being especially cruel.
  4. Yeap, Abvora's pretty much summed up my thoughts.
  5. In a historical context, it wasn't uncommon for relatives to marry each other. IS drew inspiration from European and Asian history, as they have discussed in their development videos (link 1, 2 and 3). Renaissance Europe, Feudal Japan - nobility and upper-class families often had arranged marriages so in their culture, it wasn't a huge (if not an) issue at all. It's just strange for a lot of us who never lived it, or know people who have experienced it (partially or fully). I personally know people who have, so it's not an issue with me at all. Even now, some families arrange marriages for their children. India is one of them, the caste system still being present. It is also present in China (having done research on arranged marriages for an assignment before), as families want them to marry well.
  6. So my previous comment covered the story lore-wise. Now, onto the routes and some additional gameplay stuff that compliments them. (Like...seriously, I always thought that in Conquest, you'd be in the rebellion and everything *sighs*) Birthright: To Uphold Our Vows With the sudden death of Lady Mikoto so soon after the return of their lost prince(ss), while Kamui's return is generally accepted, there are still some skeptical parties. It starts with small riots and protests, but eventually grows into a civil war. Hoshido is now split into two, and now Kamui and his/her siblings have to reunite Hoshido once more....and fight the war against Nohr. - SIDE MISSIONS (besides Scouting) Protect: Protect your information source! These missions contain valuable information that will help you in reuniting Hoshido and gathering allies. > If received - "Ally Information" -> New Paralogue OR Scene in which you are approached by a random Hoshido clan who offers to send you aid by lending you one of their members. > If received - "Intel" -> *unlocks a Defend mission* Defend [Locked]: Defend the outpost against your enemies. Gains: Rare items (e.g: Dracoshield, Speedwing.etc). 2-3 enemy waves. Resource: You have found a place to replenish some of your resources! But be warned, monsters surround this area... *All missions increase Reputation points* My Castle Council: Meet with the Hoshido council. Gain: Reputation *The more "Reputation" you have, the more Influence you have in Hoshido. As it increases, you can choose from a selection of My Castle perks* Conquest: Destroy to Renew Upon finding that King Garon is responsible for the death of the innocent Lady Mikoto and the starting of the war, Kamui seeks to rebel and eventually finds out about the rebels in Cheve. Joining them, Kamui treads down a dangerous path of lies, secrets and vengeance. Add.Features: Bribe, Blackmail, Negotiate, Resource and Intel missions* *vital for Bribe, Blackmail and Negotiate* Revelations: For the Sake of It All (Minus the Invisible soldiers and "Valla is a Taboo" because it's already complicated enough. Hidden kingdom, yes.) Refusing to choose a side, Kamui heads to Izumo look up on the neutral territories. Midway through the journey, they come upon a Vallite on the verge of death. Once treated, they find out that he is a scholar and part of a Vallite clan that served Vallite royalty before the royal family was killed. He had deserted Valla after finding out that a royal member was still alive. He was the last of his clan, as Anankos had his family killed and hunted when they opposed him and tried to garner support. After research in Izumo, the next stop is Mokushu, where they meet up with Saizo and the others and try to convince them with their actions. After the battle and the trio still being reluctant, Kaze steps forward and tells them what happened when he and Rinkah were imprisoned. This, backed up with their actions and later being shown proof by the Vallite scholar, convinces them to join..... -- And pretty much what eclipse has said with some changes along seeing as I added a Vallite member. If I go on, this will be way too long. Add.Stuff: Intel and Resource Missions. My Castle: War Council: Have a war council meeting. Gain: Reputation* *More reputation, more influence. More influence => Castle Perks*
  7. BIRTHRIGHT Azama x Orochi: If you're talking stats, not so good. But if you're talking Supports, I freaking approve. They troll each other and it's funny as heck. Azura x Kaden: I just love how not aloof Azura is with him. It shows a part of her that we don't see in the story and a lot of the supports. Personally my favourite of Azura's supports by far. Hayato x Mozu: Gradual development. Kinda sweet. Kaze x Sakura: I won't spoil it for you, but...this was really cute. Saizo x Oboro: This was.... This was pure gold. My cheeks hurt from laughing. Worth investing in, seriously. REVELATIONS Arthur x Setsuna: Definitely one of my favourite Arthur supports. These two get along really well. Xander x Sakura | Leo x Sakura: Sakura has a lot of good supports (which I love). I ship her with these two from Nohr. The chemistry is just natural, and the development of the supports is good as well. -- NEUTRAL I generally play F!Corrin, sooo yeap >.> Most natural supports for F!Corrin would be Kaze, Jakob and Silas, definitely. F!Corrin's supports with Takumi is pretty good, though the S-Support is kinda a stretch. These are just some of the pairings that I really liked. If I were to write all of them, I'd be writing an essay ^^;;
  8. This topic is <3 Anyway, I always thought that Fates could have explored more of their lore (because seriously I want to know how Hoshido and Nohr came to be how they were in the story - it could have changed a lot of things.), so here's me trying to fill that in. #1: Forgotten History - Valla: When It became Atlantis Valla formerly existed as the central, neutral territory between Hoshido and Nohr. All three kingdoms co-existed in peace, until the 25th Tri-Renewal Conference happened. The Tri-Renewal Conference was where treaties were revised, trades established as well as various other policies. During the 25th Conference, however, the Advocation, an organization of power-hungry vigilantes led by Rephareth otherwise known as "Wrath's Hand", struck. Disgruntled with the way the lands were ruled and wanting power - seeking to rule the lands, Rephareth sought to end the alliance of the three kingdoms. He also had a target in mind - someone whom he sought to utterly destroy to receive divine power. The target? Anankos. And so Rephareth, with a team of his best magic-users, bound him in chains and forced him to watch as the people he so loved were massacred, some tortured, in front of him. None were left alive except for Anankos who could not be killed as he was a Divine Being. Driven by rage, destruction was wrought upon the land as Anankos unleashed his fury. No one was spared that day, and Anankos was driven to insanity. Anankos then weaved his magic upon Valla, hiding it from the eyes of the rest of the world as he planned and plotted the destruction of both Nohr and Hoshido. For he would destroy all to make it all anew. #2: Forgotten History (Pt.2) - Nohr: The Ceasing of Honour The ruined alliance devastated both kingdoms. Nohr, who had been dependent on Hoshido for resources in return for military assistance, were overrun by the corrupt and eventually became a kingdom prioritizing glory and power. Riots were rampant, as was violence as the motto "survival of the fittest" became the creed of Nohr. No means were too cruel as the concept of honour ceased to exist. Nobility fought one another, each seeking the throne for themselves. Through sheer force and ambition, using any means necessary, Garon forced his way to the throne. #3: Forgotten History (Pt.3) - Hoshido: To Uphold Our Vows Despite the alliance being ruined, the elite clans held a table conference and unanimously agreed that their people was the priority. Thus, they came to the conclusion that the throne would be taken in by the eldest of the remaining royal family upon their coming-of-age. A council consisting of representatives from both noble and civilian clans was formed, which would then be led by the future king and queen as they served as advisors. Tradition and honour were their creed, as their morals would dictate no less. Eventually, Sumeragi would take the throne alongside with Mikoto.
  9. Well if this was supposed to be funny, it sure as heck isn't. Insecurity/low self-esteem can lead to depression, and then suicide. Want statistics and scientific evidence? I can hand you some academic journal links. It's way beyond "First World Problem", thank you very much. Being someone who has personally experienced both insecurity and depression, I'm not amused in the least. To counter your argument, not all rich people are happy. You see them chasing after tangible materials, materialistic things (i.e: jets, more money.etc) but does this mean that they're truly happy? No. Some of the people who I know, despite being rich are not. At all. I have heard stories of my friends' friends, who, despite having money, are not happy. Heck, some of them come from broken families (i.e: abuse). Again, I repeat: it is easy to SAY that you wouldn't have turned out the way Takumi did, because you have not experienced it, nor were you in his shoes. If you have suffered the trauma that he did or something similar, and/or endured depression and have immense insecurity issues, then go ahead and say whatever you like. That voice in your head that says, "You aren't good enough?" Multiply that by the dozens and imagine living with that daily. That being a constant presence in your mind. Belittling every single thing that you do. And then, it becomes a cycle. It's not fun at all.
  10. I enjoy a good meme or two, but what I really don't like is that people just outright hate/dislike him and just say that he sucks and what-not. As someone who suffered from horrible insecurity when I was a kid, and occasionally does still even now, I can say with 100% certainty that insecurity is not just a minor issue. Insecurity eats at you, and the more it does, the more you don't realize it. You get bombarded with heck a lot of doubts, and eventually your mind becomes one whole whirpool of turmoil. Which inadvertently leads you to lashing out quite a bit. So let's take a look at Takumi, yeah? - Father killed when he was young, Corrin kidnapped: Ryoma suddenly becomes King and has to deal with his duties. Hinoka becomes obsessed with becoming stronger to find Corrin. Result: Neglected, as is Sakura. - Mother dead after Corrin's return, kingdom invaded: The world that he knew eventually just became a humongous mess, shattered into nothing. Now, he has to fight a war, alongside with/against Corrin whom his elder siblings have neglected him and Sakura a lot for. If we're talking Conquest: The world that he knew? Gone. After everything they (Ryoma and the others did) for Corrin, he/she sides with Nohr? Not to mention, his parents' death all being caused by Nohr ? Yeahhhh... And , being an opportunistic jerk, took advantage of his insecurity, amplifying the hate and everything and possessed him. That's a lot of emotional baggage there. It's hard to say how even we ourselves would even turn out after said events. It's easy to say that no, we would never become like him but then again, it's always easy to say it rather than actually do it after experiencing it. My question to the detractors would be: How would YOU deal with everything? Parents dead, and everything you knew just became nothing in a blink of an eye. Think about it.
  11. Special mentions for: Subaki/Azura Azama/Orochi Saizo/Oboro Xander/Siegbert Niles/Nina NIles/Azura Almost all of Kaze and Saizo's supports Orochi/Kagero Kagero/Rinkah Awakening!Trio supports. Azama/Hana Misc/Other mentions/Notes: Subaki/Azura wasn't bad. Azama/Orochi was funny (I didn't do till S-Rank though), as were Saizo/Oboro (one of the most hilarious ones by far) and Kaden/Keaton. Corrin's Supports...some of them could use some work. (Playing F!Corrin here). I like Niles/F!Corrin's support, but I wished they had added more depth to it like how they did M!Corrin/Niles. Another one that could use some rewriting was Keaton's - I would love to have seen more of his backstory and the Wolf Tribe. How do they select their leaders, how did he become the leader - things like that. Azama/Hana was definitely one of my other favourites. It's amusing as heck, since it's like Karma biting Azama back. So worth exploring.
  12. A couple of my head-canons... HC #1: Xander and Camilla were more affected by Azura's kidnapping than anyone ever knew, which resulted in the amount of love and care given to Corrin. Leo wasn't as affected as he had always been told to stay away from Azura, and, being the dutiful son he was, did so he wasn't as close. This resulted in some distance in his relationships with Xander and Camilla, which led to his insecurity. Supports That Could Have Been: Camilla: What do you mean? Leo: You don't know? Both you and Xander are the same... For you, it's always about [Corrin], and for Xander, it's always about [Corrin] and the war. Elise and I? We...we're ignored. HC#2: Losing his father devastated him as he idolized his father, so when he lost his mother too, it pushed his hatred for Nohr over the edge. Love can push even the most moralistic of men to do things that they would have never done and grow up in its bitter shadow. Takumi had always loved his parents - Mikoto patiently teaching him the way of the bow, and Sumeragi the way of the sword (refer to F!Corrin Support w/Hinata for swordart talk) and sought to make them proud. Neglected by Ryoma (crown prince duties) and Hinoka (military and obsession with finding Corrin), he grew to be an insecure and fragile-minded individual despite his facade. Support(s) that I really wished had been there: Takumi: Why should you care? Don't you have your duties to attend to? [Corrin] to look after? Hinoka: You're still my brother, Takumi. And family always cares. Takumi: Really? So where were you for the past few years ever since [Corrin's] kidnapping? Leaving me and Sakura to our own devices, and only focusing on getting [Corrin] back. If family did really matter, you wouldn't have ignored us. Hinoka: Takumi - Takumi: ...I'm leaving.
  13. Need some advice on this (for my current Revelations run). Benny and Charlotte aren't on the list cause I didn't know you needed Elise to talk to them. *sighs* Playing F!Corrin, with +Spd/-Luck build, and I'm fine with pairing her up with anyone, so yeah. Xander/Hinoka Ryoma/Camilla Takumi/Hana Leo/Sakura Elise/Odin Laslow/Peri Jakob/Azura (or Felicia) Keaton/Effie Kaden/Felicia (or Azura) Subaki/Rinkah Saizo/Setsuna Arthur/Beruka (or Mozu) Hinata/Selena Hayato/Nyx Silas/Kagero Niles/Oboro Kaze/Beruka Azama/Orochi
  14. I would say the Awakening Trio, because just because they have legendary weapons doesn't mean that technique and experience can't beat'em. Based off Inigo/Laslow and Owain/Odin's supports, they definitely have more than enough experience to counter that factor. Not to mention, I wouldn't be surprised if in both Awakening timelines they were trained mercilessly by Frederick and the rest of the Shepherds (well more like Frederick Boot Camp). Also taking into Inigo's supports with Xander and Owain's supports with Leo - Inigo (potentially) holding back in his fight with Xander, Owain doing impossible missions for Leo? Yeah. Not to mention, while exploring the supports (if you're ignoring the stats/stat growth), Owain is actually a capable mage, having the ability to craft spells and all that. I still prefer him as Swordmaster though. *cue reclassing*
