  1. That's a common misconception. Her information comes from her house, not Agarthans, and is correct on as much as she says. People need to stop parroting the same lies since a year ago. https://fedatamine.com/en-us/scenarios/254#event-63 The incomplete story that Edelgard knows is more than enough to uncover how Rhea lied to everybody. If Rhea didn't rewrite history, then Edelgard and all of Fodlan wouldn't know only half the truth but all of it. True, they have been interfering in Fodlan since Loog's rebellion as far as we know, but that's not "modifying" history. I also agree with you at comparing the Church with the Slithers in manipulating the people of Fodlan. I agree with this. This explains why they used Nemesis to be able to acquire the crest of flames and later Edelgard, because they are incompatible with crests.
  2. When did Agarthans "modify" history or lie about it? I'm not sure why people are still confusing lying about history as something anybody but the Church does. And we know for a fact that they did as Rhea herself admits in her S support. Nemesis was supposedly popular as they dubbed him "King of Liberation". This shows that humans wanted to be "liberated" by the Nabateans that ruled them.
  3. Byleth has STR, the weight on Nosferatu doesn't affect him. You use your brave sword, combat arts or a gambit in player phase obviously. Of course you need to stay in Enlightened one for the rounded stats, not gremory. The point is to be able to bait things nobody else can, when it is necessary to do so and not to be a punching bag. Unlike other mages, Byleth will not be helpless against Tomebreakers because they can use melee weapons too. I wonder if you have actually tried these things or are just talking from a metagaming perspective while looking at the wiki. I'm just suprised because I remember faith/swords Byleth working pretty well for me, while playing the game in ng maddening without metagaming.
  4. Works for me :^) Petra will die to WTA and breaker skills, Byleth doesn't. The other poster got that right. Faith is balanced to not outdo Reason. And Byleth's spell list is balanced to not make them better than even dedicated mages. Byleth has bulk that they don't, so use that.
  5. Nosferatu dodge tanking is all you need. It's balanced by its low uses.
  6. Is it off topic to ask about the next chapter and sparing Flayn and Seteth? I think that it is only possible by defeating them with Byleth. So is this again a gameplay gimmick or is there a narrative reason for it?
  7. Does Ridill have a unique model? It doesn't actually appear normally, Thales isn't carrying it in Shambhalla.
  8. There is only one canon and it is the latest version of a name (in case it has been updated over the years as you mentioned). That you are even arguing over this shows that instead you want to decide your own "canon" rather than use the one that is objectively true. If the name is used in the TCG then you use it. If it was later updated for CYL then you pick that one. When eventually they add a reference to it in FEH, then update it again. Unless I'm missing a few, most characters have already been added to the CYL list, so there it is. It's simple as that, you follow the official names by the official Nintendo sources.
  9. Remind me who was the translator that insisted that the CYL names are not the official ones? Because in my opinion doubting canon like that was a good reason to not trust their translation.
  10. They make Rhea "look suspicious" because she is suspicious. That is what they wanted to present her as such and as I said, is consistent with her actions in the war phase in the case she doesn't get restrained. The game is not "biased", this is the story it wants to tell. Edelgard is an antagonist not a villain. That is already a contradiction between this and how the game presents her and you already mentioned it. As did the interview. Kusagihara contradicts himself by calling the *antagonist* a "villain" when he also says the story is morally grey and that everyone is good in their own way. We all know that "villain" is a word used for children's Saturday morning cartoon evil villains, which just doesn't apply here in both how the game presents them and how the game was advertised as. It is a Fire Emblem game and someone needs to start a war. He called Edelgard a villain because traditionally the villain of the story starts it. People who hate Edelgard love taking this out of context for their hate rhetoric. Nothing in the game supports this, not only does Edelgard get her own ""villain"" route but that route also is presented as anything but, with the most progressive and peaceful ending for Fodlan.
  11. Guys, guys wait a minute. There's no guarantee the other 3H lords will get a legendary alt so soon. IS wants to spread out legendaries among all of the games instead of necessitating 3 legendaries + 2 mythics (sothis + rhea) or even nemesis, who are all more important and relevant on all routes. Not to mention the obligatory legendary Enlightened One Byleth who is also of course present on all routes. A lord who is only relevant in one route will not get in the game any time soon. IS knows the true popularity of the characters and which one actually sold the most because of player stats. This is why Edelgard got hers first. Dimitri and Claude will get one, but this will take some time yet.
  12. This is what Rhea is like and is foreshadowed in part 1 even on all routes. Is that route "propaganda" by the devs to make us hate Rhea? Is this an elaborate attempt at Edelgard to alter our perception of the game? Is the game even real? Crazy stuff. Honestly at this point I don't even know why I bother to read what people like this have to say. There should be some way to just filter all that worthless stuff out.
  13. You should still play Silver Snow. It's more important about the lore than VW despite what people say, because it addresses more questions about the Church and even Byleth. Also features a much better antagonistic arc for Edelgard and the one originally intended by the writers rather than the mix and match one in VW. If you're bored then make it a recruit all or church staff only run, it's not too late. The only reason people bash it is because they play VW first and then think that makes SS the copy (lol, zero self awareness right?).
  14. You should definitely play Silver Snow and not its clone Verdant Wind first, if you really want the focus on Edelgard that is. Her being the misunderstood and tragic antagonist is equally important to her character as Crimson Flower where her dream is fulfilled. Silver Snow actually makes sense in this aspect and features some more scenes with her. In verdant wind they just don't make sense because the route was blatantly copy pasted from SS. Make it a "recruit all run" since SS is the only route that doesn't have its narrative damaged by doing it. However, Azure Moon pretty much twists Edelgard into the good old evil emperor from FE in order to redeem Dimitri and justify his insane actions. Not saying you shouldn't play it, but expect some major shenanigans with how much AM worships Dimitri to the detriment of everyone and everything else, from Edelgard to Rhea, to those who slither in the dark and to even Claude and the Blue Lion students.
  15. What a disgrace to this forum to house such petty back and forth "they started it first!" toxic exchanges about blanket term "xxx-fans", between what looks like hateful tribals. How pathetic.
  16. How DARES anyone defend Edelgard?? Who are you to say if anyone is allowed to defend Edelgard or not pal? To me it more looks like there are some people around here that are so obsessed with hating Edelgard that have now moved on to hating her fans as well.
  17. It's almost like this is a Strategy game yeah. If it isn't up your alley you should try a different series. And people are already talking about WRPGs an completely different kind of games. Too bad this is a Fire Emblem game I suppose.
  18. Play the game to find out, not gonna waste my time with this when you insist on that same wrong argument throughout the thread. You are evidently too biased to care.
  19. Yes, Byleth has both a personality and plenty of opportunities to pick choices that aren't "the same".
  20. Please don't spread misinformation. Edelgard got her information from her father and the line of Hraeslsverg emperors, NOT Thales.
  21. https://www.pegasusknight.com/wiki/fe16/?修道院/お茶会#a0e755e5 The additional points of the evaluation are as follows. Select your favorite tea leaves (high quality tea leaves?) Select correct answer option in talk (3 times) Select the correct answer in the conversation after the third talk Evaluation points Support value Charm +1 Five +30 100% Four +30 70% 3 +20 50% 2 +10 30% 1 +5 0% You need to get all five points (favourite blend, three topics and the answer) correct to have a 100% chance of leveling up charm for both characters. However you can only level up charm up to two times per character per month.
  22. Byleth is the best MC in the series and one of the best characters in his/her game. Their psychopath background established by Jeralt and because of their birth, goes miles in justifying their lack of knowledge on the world (they simply didn't care) while suits their position as a player character who will also lack information during their first playthrough. For when the player does know, either by their previous playthrough or by looking into the lore, the player is given dialog choices to account for that. In some cases, they can even get support point with characters as a small reward for understanding the lore. But I think the most genius aspect their design is how it is shown that he/her can make people like them. Byleth/Player can study the background of people in the world and deduce the choices that would they like. He can adapt his personality and choices to the other person in order to get on their good side, which is represented by getting support points. For example, they can pick contrasting options when speaking to npcs in the monastery explore segments. This would normally seem contrived and "gamey" but in Byleth's case it matches perfectly with their psycho/sociopath personality and being the player's pawn, the player may want to choose things that will do just that for the gameplay reward. This is further built upon by the counselor and tea time activities. Meanwhile they are given opportunities to react to the events in the game and express themselves, which because of their usual lack of emotion, make the impact more noticeable. In plenty of situations, their reaction matches pretty well with what every player would have, such as Bernadetta's love for pitcher plants, or the Death Knight's joining the battle of Gareg Mach and picking a side during chapter 11. At other times the player can choose bizarre dialog choices where the player might want to "just see their reaction" for their amusement such as "Manuella's mask" or "Is it Jeritza" in chapter 6. Byleth also has a great arc during Crimson Flower where they actually change to become human, signified by how it is Edelgard holding them in the final cutscene rather than Byleth saving Rhea/Dimitri/Claude in all other routes. It shows them as vulnerable and needing of Edelgard's support instead of being a savior with no weaknesses who goes on to become an infallible god emperor in the other routes. This completes their arc that began in the prologue where they rush to save Edelgard much to Jeralt's surprise (because of his background). It fulfills his wish for Byleth to find friends and love which he expresses by worrying for them throughout White Clouds and giving them his ring.
  23. Who? Why are non-FE-fans so excited again? Is having an "epic cool" girl broken meta all it takes?
