  1. Well then, that adds serious value to making Gray/Atlas mercenaries due to 25% speed growths, and in Atlas' case, 3 base speed when recruited. Would be a waste of his monster atk otherwise... So villagers with better/rounded growths would be better off as somewhat more-stat demanding classes like archer, yeah?
  2. So how does promotion stat bonuses work now? I get the impressioncertain stats are brought up to a pre-determined minimum regardless of the character's stats before promotion?
  3. Can't feel sorry for him. We don't know the other half of the story (yet). 1. How many of the commoners on his land starved to death? 2. Did his family have the ability to provide, but refuse to do so? It's still very possible his family was a bunch of unrepentant scumbags for all we know.
  4. I know she is. It's just the combination of killing for you/everyone around you out of selfishness/killing you out of love is what really brings up the yandere flag. Camilla is all 3 of these things (the latter 2 in birthright). Her intentions/motivations go beyond her duty obviously. Tharja may have threatened it in a support convo or something somewhere, but she doesn't act on it outside of her role in the army, and does too many things (and too few things at the same time) that would place her in the 'creepy stalker' role rather than 'yandere'. Faye is showing a creepy combination of killing for reasons beyond duty (affection), way too eager to please, and wanting to be noticed by Alm as she does it (at least Camilla doesn't beg for Corrin's attention using murder as a selling point). Faye might not be birthright Camilla, but she's already becoming more unsettling than Tharja imo.
  5. Besides obsession, Tharja has no real indications of being close to a Gasai Yuno yandere at all in actions. Or at the very least, it's nowhere near as overt as Camilla in birthright, or Fae's support convo. Just wanted to say.
  6. I'm on the fence on this. I rather liked a bit of planning, and working within class set restrictions to make a character as strong as they could be within their own limitations, and finding interesting niche uses for characters like Sumia, and forcing me to make the best with what characters had With Fate's friendship seals, partner seals, and any non-dlc skills in the game from castles in less than 5 minutes, you could turn anyone into a god with little effort. That feels lame/cheap on two levels. The convenience was alright, but it came with way too much freedom to abuse it, imo.
  7. As a character, I'm sorry but she's written to be an idiot. Eirika has been told up to 3 times that Lyon is gone and she still hands the stone over. Hell, I think one of those times was the demon king himself bragging about how thoroughly doomed Lyon's situation was. Other than that, she's not bad as a character I guess. As a unit, 'meh' fits her. Before promotion, she's a slightly worse Joshua, and probably a slightly better Marisa, which isn't saying much. She's locked to swords, which does her few favors when lance-wielders are as common as they are in sacred stones compared to axe-wielding enemies combined with her frailty, as well as a lack of a ranged option until Rausten. She becomes notable after getting on a horse with her sacred weapon.
  8. Was thinking on using him when Franz/main lord has the same-ish stats, which would be around the route split.
  9. I sort of have a stigma against using pre-promotes since I'm one of those 'promote at 20' kinds of people. Late-game, how would Seth hold up compared to a trained Forde in this method?
  10. About this topic, super old, but this is what you get when you last minute hamfist waifu mechanics to pander to the awakening fanbase without addressing the details in the narrative like they did in awakening, such as Lucina behaving differently if Robin is her husband/mother (i especially like making Robin Lucina's mother, even if it isn't optimal). Also would help a little integral characters weren't killed off by plot, or if around a half-dozen characters weren't allegedly related. As for Echos, it won't be waifu emblem 3 as far as I've seen. Supposed to be a faithful remake with a few changes, and new mechanics. IS must have learned the hard way after Fates that you dont get away with doing a waifu sim without a narrative overhaul, and acute attention to detail in character interactions, or else immersion gets ruined so quickly.
  11. Pretty sure Azura mentions the wyrmslayers in Fates are effective at rending dragon scales in the chapter she tells you to look out, so it's likely just a combination of an optimal choice of metal, and serrated edge design.
  12. If I were you, I'd probably play awakening again to pass the time til Echos. Or emulate sacred stones, which I really should finish. Epharim so stronk. Erika so... dumb...
  13. Your castle looks like you just started a new Birthright playthrough xD. Also, forgot to mention I need aptitude for Siegbert as well as Ignatius, and Soleil
  14. Looking for dragon fang, and aptitude on ignatius. Also looking for aptitude on Soleil.
  15. To an extent yeah, just like Tharja, while the walking weapon triangle Frederick didn't. Still felt more organic than Corrin becoming a tactician/leader of the army just because the plot demands it. Awakening's plot at least addressed the mystery of Robin being so good at tactics, and Robin demonstrates that ability in the plot, and occasional support convo. It's believable that Chrom would be a leader because he's lead the shepards before the story even starts, clearly has experience, and familiar to his comrades to the point he mostly forgoes his royal title around them. Corrin is just qualified for the job after being locked away in a tower much of their life and no one really explains why or how besides being a person that everyone seems to love, or at least respect out of obligation because lord/retainer relationship. I'd find it very difficult to answer the question of why Corrin is the leader. He just is, and it bugs me.
  16. I dislike corrin. Mostly for what they are in fates. Avatar + lord + wish fufilment attempt. Doesn't justify their position of military leader/tactician the way Chrom and Robin did respectively.
  17. Fates: They've done well for the combat. Otherwise, I miss awakening for: -story handling (this includes the avatar's role) -unit aesthetic (armor design, and animations. Swordmasters, Heroes, and Chrom as a Lord most of all. I'd prefer a classic Mage over the Diviner/Onmyoji. I woulda've loved to see Spear Fighter/Spearmaster in nohrian/awakening/tellius style) -supports (More that felt meaningful. Less Avatar-exclusive supports. Far better S rank conversations that usually seemed alot more natural. Also, I really do miss the voiced lines during the conversations) -unit UI window -weapon Icons -the homage it paid to the whole franchise
  18. If I had to pick one... Scarlet- Only a usable unit for a meaningful amount of time in one of the 3 routes, and she's a corrinsexual on top of it all. Woulda've been interesting to see supports with her, Ryoma, and most of all, Xander.
  19. Conquest. A legit challenge that kicks my arse that doesn't feel like a tedious slog outside of the ninja rape cave chapter, and fuuga's wild ride.
  20. Hey! Panne was endearing! Also, Nah was the unfortunate one in my last awakening playthrough... All the time, usually with the one woman army, Oboro.
  21. Looking for aptitude on some kids. Starting with Selkie, and Sophie, then eventually everyone else that isn't named Asugi, Rhajat, Ophelia, Kana, or Mitama.
  22. Skinship was taboo for western fire emblem fates, but this is okay https://twitter.com/ShinSnipes/status/800757174716792832
  23. Thing is, steel, and raider weapons specifically effect the equipped unit's ability to double attack. Not their vulnerability to being doubled themselves. All it does it make it so a steel weapon-wielder needs 8, or more speed on their character window over their opponent to double them. Raider weapon-wielders only need at least 2 speed over their opponent to double. The generic throwable weapons drop effective speed vs enemy attack, unlike steel weapons.
  24. Lesse... -Take gamble off your fighters in conquest -Nyx can fall behind extremely easily in conquest due to dark mage's iconically horrible skill/hit rates outside of close range, on top of being frail. Forge tomes for her. Fire for more accuracy. Thunder if you want crit chances -Do not underestimate Oboro. -Do not wait for endgame to do child parolouges, or else some may be extremely difficult (or in Shiro's case, literally impossible) to recruit. ~ch18 is preferred -Do not use Gunter. He's a Jegan with worse growths in some areas.
  25. I find it's difficult to actually make the text any more clear than it is already, but I'll try to make an example of how I think it should work... Chakram-wielder's speed: 30 Enemy's speed: 30 For attacks, the chakram-wielder's speed will be 35 against the enemy's 30. When the chakram wielder is being attacked, the enemy's speed will be 35 against their 30. That should explain how a situation like this picture happens without brave weapons. https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jQn5xweiRkSNb In that specific picture, Kana has a raider yumi, so his speed is possibly anywhere between the same as Selkie's, to 3 points lower than her's. Meanwhile, as long as Selkie's speed stat on the character window at least either matched, or surpassed Kana's, Selkie was guaranteed to double him too. In short, try to attack your enemy under impunity with these weapons, or else the enemy may as well be the ones equipped with them.
