  1. The one in DQV was raised since it was a child, and moreover it feels to me like it was symbolic of the hero's strength of character to be able to tame a wild beast like that. This is especially reinforced by how Ladja was surprised by it, so it was definitely no ordinary feat.

Felix having a lot of them seemed to me like one of those tropes where the person is just really good at taming wild beasts and stuff.

The king in Caravan Heart is another trope where rulers have a wild beast as a pet. Sometimes this is symbolic of their power to subjugate, as rulers.

  2. Fair enough! I'm not sure if being original is impossible but it probably depends on how strict your definition of original is. But yeah, I agree with you that originality isn't necessarily a good thing in and of itself. I mean, I like Mega Man, so that shows how I feel already heh. Improving on a foundation can be just as impressive as being original, because it's really hard to do that sometimes! Although now I'm just thinking about video games and kinda veering off the original subject matter whoops.

Yeah, both that my definition is kinda strict and why I said "kind of impossible", haha. I guess the actual bad thing is being derivative in bad and artless ways, like a certain terrible video game that was released as part of an established and esteemed franchise.

TBH I've been thinking about video games all this time too (like above, haha), so that's okay too! It makes sense because it's the primary medium of entertainment we consume, I think.

  3. That's true! I never really thought about that before. I don't know whether to feel encouraged or like a total hack, though.

    So cruel. =(

Encouraged imo, partly because being original is kind of impossible, and partly because originality isn't necessarily a great thing. Other qualities far outweigh it! At least, that's how I think about it. That's also why I get kinda annoyed when people criticise something for not being "original" because that's kinda meaningless. So I guess in a sense, it's good to be original, but it's not bad to be derivative...or something like that.

    Verilly. =(

Working on it, chief. Chapter 4 is pretty great. :)

That wasn't a mistake, my friend.

I see what you did there...

    lol

    True.

  5. That's funny, because I don't think I'm a very inspirational person at all! That last part was something I read on a site (when I was looking up stuff about depression) and it just really stuck with me.

    lol

Yeah well, you don't have to be particularly inspiration to inspire! Though tbh, a lot of the things we say are things we learned or took from here and there...it's all about how to say it or who it comes from or something like that. So we almost never really say anything original! And yet we're praised for it. Truly representing the duality of man.

She didn't answer so now I'll never know if I'm part of that or not. =(

do you guys, like, name the personalities/voices in your mind

I don't have any voices/personalities in my mind...

    Hello Nightmare

Hello Toren. I mistakenly read your location as "The Ass".
