  1. ...Gharnef's the only one who's not the end of one story, isn't he? I thought FEH was worse off on Final Bosses than that.
  2. Unlike with Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest only has two releases on 3DS (maybe a third, I don't remember what the deal is with DQXI and if it's even on 3DS), and the decision between 7 and 8 is night and day for a beginner. There's not much to say here. Awakening, Birthright, Conquest and Shadows of Valentia have legitimate arguments with each other over depending on SRPG experience and interests. The odds of DQ7 being a better pick than DQ8 are astronomical. (Does the 3DS version still have some 2 hour file-start-to-first-Slime time? Was that even in the PS1 version?)
  3. Expanding to the DS entries, you have 4, 5, 6 and 9. The former three are a trilogy, but this matters for only one location and character, really. (Also minor lore you might not even notice playing.) I've played all of them. Couldn't get into 6, but I'm not entirely sure the game was to blame. 9 is passable, and definitely screams "play my extensive postgame" that I never did. 4 is a solid entry, of course. But 5 is a fan favourite title for its story, even if 3 edges it out in the gameplay. ...Even without experience, I hear 8 might be a good starter, at least. I started with 9 and 5.
  4. I've gotta say this Cipher art is making me somewhat attracted to a guy, and I don't normally swing that way. I think it's the arm? I dunno.
  5. What happened to Oboro? She's a popular Fates character, or at least she was before she got a horrible Heroes representation and became one of those dud pulls. Her, Raigh, Est, Virion, etc all lost from being in Heroes. I think Valentine's Mist is from PoR and thus underage, and she's probably designed as such in both games despite being 18 in RD. (I think she's actually 18 and not just that vague 'designed as' age they put in the artbook.) Lissa probably also makes the 'designed to appear as, if not necessarily a child' gap.
  6. Cherry-picking? I've been seeing the Spring Festival one frequently in the course of using Serenes for Radiant Dawn info and seeing it in the news feed right next door and Bond Skills popped up suddenly while my mind was on the topic, but otherwise as a retired Heroes player, I haven't been seeing much banner art to compare to. Perhaps not the time to make the general observation, maybe, but honestly, it's good to see... some degree of males as attraction.
  7. For the American Version: For the European version: On a map where you do not intend to use the Z button menu (Unit/Guide/Options/Suspend/End), press B or Z with this code active to open the game's debug menu. You should get something like this. Highlight Ike or Soren, go into Game>Unit>Edit Support. That should get you what you need- don't break the five Support limit, to be safe. Wish I could use this myself, but I don't have the means to use AR, as far as I've experimented.
  8. Nine years later and they finally did it. I reserve the right to say I'm interested.
  9. I noticed the new Bond banner image on my Twitter feed, and it really hammers home the point here- Compare the Corrins. Female Corrins' bare skin area is about the size of Male Corrin's space in the picture. This is a filler banner that'll only show up on your message board once and for a moment every day until the next banner comes around, and even it seems to be trying to sell to that specific female-attracted crowd. I don't remember if this art has ever been updated, but Spring Festival is even worse. Look at how much of the space Camilla has. Screw the people attracted to men, can they at least shake up the women for the people attracted to different kinds of women? (Don't actually neglect the male people, but c'mon, guys.)
  10. It was Vika I referred to. I forgot about Nailah- I blame her being from a country and tribe of laguz that doesn't exist in the story I'm writing, and that is so much fresher on my mind because I'm almost literally writing it right now.
  11. We also never see a female tiger. The female laguz are largely isolated to Leanne, the cats, that random laguz they added to RD that was probably for ticking a box for how much development they gave her, and a pregnant dragon. ...I guess you could squeeze Almedha in there?
  12. Choking us with alts while we're waiting on characters of Jill/Sain/Rath quality is drumming up discontent. For a microcosm of it, just look at the months before Ike, the time until Micaiah/Leif, waiting for beast units... When we're not worried about missing out on characters with no reason to be missing, then the alts/OCs aren't so bad.
  13. Three of my friend's favourite suggestions: Extortion: Farina/Hugh/Volke/Beowulf Nap Patrol: Forde/Haar/Treck Womanisers: Gatrie/Sain/Saul/Shanam
  14. And meanwhile, there's me who's attracted to girls and outright repulsed by 'tiddies'. I get, like, some goodies squeezed in there, but for the most part, it's all sexy costumed girls and the token boy.
  15. Being a Lord, and thus being able to Seize, is governed by a Skill that my friend's Ike lost on Skill randomisation. I would also advise making sure you have the following Skills functioning correctly. FE10 Canto, at least, might be all right: Female, Being-Promoted, FE10 Canto, Flying, Village-Destroying, being a Boss, being the Final Boss, being a Feral, second weapon on Paladin, Sage with Staves, +5 Hit/Avoid to allies within 3 spaces, Shove, Can't Class Change, Ballista/Longbow usage, opening doors (both free and paid), both Triangle Attacks, Rolf's Bow, Amiti, Laguz Band, Knight Ward usage, Blessed Armour, and +15 Crit rate. EDIT: When he ran through his units upon learning his run died, he noticed Rolf has the Skill "Discipline". That and Mantle should probably be taken out of the pool.
  16. Anyone happen to hear the word 'fecundity' before? It basically means the same thing as 'fertility', but with some nuance or other, and I just want to know if it's them trying to obfuscate the sex joke or something I just happened to miss.
  17. Marisa: "I've never seen a rabbit in the desert. Just... snakes." That's an amazing line, and more or less makes up for Loki's... Loki.
  18. Laus, Ostia and Bern are apparently large enough that the European localisation of FE7 saw fit to rename them Lahus, Ositia and Biran. If you see me use the latter in conversation, that's why. (Having personally played both US and EU copies of Tellius, I can confirm Crimea is untouched.) I went looking for a map of Begnion for the purposes of plotting a story, and found there's a Bennion Beach about a half hour drive from me. I don't like beaches, but that's an annoying coincidence when you're typing "Begnion map" into a search engine.
  19. Here are some numbers: Wow, those are some numbers. I wish I knew what they meant.
  20. I'd possibly be inclined to agree, but that doesn't help much when the vanilla version of one of my favourites reads like that (and feeds into a common misconception about her character to spread it) and part of the Sharena bio on Marisa gives me uncomfortable thoughts in regards to 'getting asocial people to socialise'. Then let's make a place!
  21. First reaction: Seasonals were a mistake. I think this sort of mindset is what got us the controversial parts of Awakening and Fates in the first place. Everyone has to have their chance so no one gets upset, but then people get upset anyway because their ships don't work (my one Fates ship I stand by isn't allowed by the game's mechanics because it's homoromantic, and the hetero one I've considered might be missing because it's a Hoshido/Nohr pairing). It's definitely a smaller faction of fans who'll be disappointed in not getting a certain character in a certain, specific costume than the faction of fans who tires of seasonals in general, but IS's priorities could well be focused on said smaller faction.
  22. My issue here is, why are we limiting ourselves to Easter and Christmas? Homogeny amongst the designs simply limits the interest you can get from people outside of those who are fans of the involved characters, and the fact we're not labelling ourselves directly after the holidays, but a generic 'seasonal spirit', means that there's wiggle room to put in something outside the norm. It doesn't take a lot of effort (well, a lot more effort than baseline) to put any random character in a bunny suit. It takes a little more to put in something for people who grow tired of bunnies.
  23. I mean, I can't say much about other people on this one, because I hate those two as well as Spring (seriously, guys, Xenoblade had less slots to assign to female swimwear and had room for this, why are we stuck with nothing but one- and two-pieces with the occasional maybe-floatie?) But from what I've seen, I think the reasoning is that's all we get. Valentine's Mist would fit right in on a Spring Banner without alterations, you don't need to stick on a gratuitous pair of bunny ears.
