  1. Merry 2024 "I'm trying to build a hoverbike on Ganon's back." -Vinny Vinesauce Thank you. Since the developers are satisfied with this version of Hyrule, I wonder what the next 3D Zelda will be like... When the pre-final battle atmosphere hits juuuuuuust right. I thought this was going to be about Thracia not getting anything last year and I was going to say "well it's been almost seven years, IS knows what's profitable at this point" but it turns out I don't have to say that. They should add Linoan though. Anyway, it's probably because the Warriors original characters aren't very popular or unique. TMS only got content as cross promotion with the Switch port and has been ignored since then. Hey, there's a decent chance that you stared respectfully at some of the images I uploaded online.
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's final boss in a nutshell One could say that I was not entirely prepared to fight Ganondorf. Images that are very hype Images that are very satisfying Game was good, it almost brought a tear (of the kingdom) to my eye... I never got the Hylian Shield but I assume it's found somewhere in the final area. Anyway, happy early 2024 (or late depending on your timezone). IS must have thought Engage is a Dragon Ball game (or JoJo Part 5) considering all of these naming themes. Engage 2 will feature a new kingdom where everyone is named after underwear.
  3. I dreamed that you could dress as CD-i Link in Tears of the Kingdom, I was very disappointed when I woke up. From my brief experience playing Super Mario Bros. Wonder in multiplayer, I found that Yoshi makes for a good "babysitter" character (fittingly enough) when playing with less experienced players, since he can catch power-ups for them and offer a ride through troublesome platforming sections. And also, it gives you an excuse to play as Yoshi. I'm curious, did you do much side content before you finished the game? I was too invested in the plot to pay much attention to side quests in my first playthrough, so I missed Poppi QTπ's existence initially. Her quest is actually first available in Chapter 8, provided you viewed a specific Heart-to-Heart in Leftheria.
  4. Oh yeah, I remember the time when everyone thought IS would give us Elijah Wood... I mean Gunnthrá for free. You mean I have to be bad at giving Christmas presents to progress the plot? I didn't realize how much I strayed from the intended progression until I looked up what I was supposed to do. In hindsight, it was probably because I spent so much time goofing around and doing the Dragon's Tears quest early on. I mostly agree but I'm going to miss English Minilla. I expect Japanese Minilla to have an anime girl voice instead, even though anime girls didn't exist yet at the time.
  5. I knew Falcom was pretty small, though depending on how those employees are spread out, this means your average Falcom game still has more non-outsourced developers than Xenoblade 2. Huh, I wonder where I would find that. Somehow this keeps happening to me in TotK. True! It's funny that you say this right after Camilla got another alt, at least she's wearing pants this time. I didn't give any of my rare Blades Core Chips on my first playthrough because I didn't like removing their unique weapon. I also remember Chuggaaconroy being too lazy to check the Affinity Menu at some point, so he went the whole second half of the game without unlocking anything on the affinity charts. I still remember the first time I went through it.
  6. I bought a Trails calendar, more specifically this one, so I could stylishly keep track of 2024's dates. Note that while aesthetically pleasing, it has spoilers up to Reverie for the uninitiated. I didn't actually know it shipped until I got it. I assume I am close to Tears of the Kingdom's endgame since I finished the four temples and Also, the Lurelin Village restoration quest requires you to get logs. It sounds like I have to build Mechagodzilla to transport a bunch of logs there (or I could use a horse instead, but that isn't as fun) rather than just giving 15 wood pickups. True! The picture of Garon in your avatar is from Heroes so perhaps you are obligated to say that. Although, Heroes does have a chapter where the only line of dialogue is Nino saying "What if my belly gets cold?" so perhaps it is better written than any FE game.
  7. Spider-Verse's legacy The true path to enlightenment is to collect JPEGs of characters you like and not care about anything else and to not read the weapon descriptions. I myself can't muster motivation to summon very often so I have 2,270 orbs currently. Indeed
  8. I was actually thinking of Shenmue III in regard to "million dollar Kickstarter games that turned out... eh" rather than the obvious Mighty No. 9. Something something anime fan on prom night. This, basically. It's pretty funny that it ended on another cliffhanger. Though hopefully Eiyuden Chronicle won't face any issues. I'm staying open minded but I heard Rixia is barely in the game, which must be what people are complaining about. The queens The wacky potential party combinations are fun, as well. After having played it, Reverie is more like "Trails to Azure 2 featuring C and Rean" than anything else.
  9. It evolves from the previously introduced apple dragon, Dipplin. Though Hydrapple was only added a few days ago, GF forgot to make Dipplin incompatible with Eviolite when it was added in September, so we knew it would get an evolution beforehand. Curiouser and curiouser... The description implies that Van is still present so it's probably Kuro III with a different name (and presumably, the end of the Calvard arc). The fancy new title, I'm guessing, is in recognition of the 20th anniversary and to generate interest. Even if it isn't the finale, it will likely be a major upheaval of some sort for the series' plot. Most importantly Campanella is back, now the games are funny again. NASA-chan Did you play it with a profile that isn't your main one? That could be the reason it doesn't show up. I was surprised to hear that this is a Kickstarter game. And it has 100 characters? The Wonderful 101's sequel sure looks different from what I expected.
  10. Apple Ghidorah I assume the Toymaker's return is established beforehand, but I'm amused by the idea that his first appearance in almost 60 years involves him coming out of nowhere and performing a dance number. Now that I think about it, Doctor Who sure has a lot of those. Soon, the shipping wars will begin. I look forward to seeing the essays as to why *insert character here* is the best romance option.
  11. Haha... (it was the top four actually) Also, I saw Son of Godzilla. Godzilla has never looked more like Cookie Monster, though I wasn't expecting Kumonga to be a horror movie villain. I thought this was supposed to be a kids movie? As a fun fact, Minilla's name was decided in a raffle and was referred to as "Kojira" in the script. Minilla also sounds like a donkey, which was unexpected. Rest in peace, let us remember the good times we had together. Me about to watch an hour long video on a game I'll never play The most exposure I have to Assassin's Creed was watching someone play Odyssey, I think, in college. IS didn't want to go a year without releasing a new Edelgard and Dimitri, clearly. And yet Marianne hasn't gotten anything since she won CYL over two years ago...
  12. Tears of the Kingdom is the greatest Zelda game because you can make pizza. I will attach cheese to the Master Sword to defeat Ganondorf. At last, Ebirah gets the respect he deserves. I still think about how apparently, Mike Wazowski is strong enough to destroy multiverses and has infinite speed. When you combine this with The Flash, babies just can't catch a break in 2023. Don't they release every year? They might not have time to take criticism into account though even if they could, I feel like they wouldn't. I don't know where you heard that, but technically speaking "there are 10 hours of tutorials" and "the tutorials are bad" aren't mutually exclusive. Mostly the issue is that you can't review the tutorials, and they don't really walk you through the gameplay mechanics to show you how to do them properly. Though for Xenoblade 3 many people took a while to figure out that you can select which characters to use in a chain attack, so maybe the tutorials aren't entirely the issue.
  13. Seeing Godzilla Minus One renewed my interest in seeing every Godzilla film, so I watched Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (I meant to watch all of them before seeing Minus One but obviously I never got around to it). It was fun and Ebirah was cool, though getting the main characters on the island was pretty contrived. First this guy's brother was lost at sea, so he goes to a dancing competition to get a yacht. Then two guys there say "hey, we'll take you to a yacht" and then they all go to one for some reason. Then a guy in the yacht points a gun at them and says "eh, you can stay the night" and then the guys exploit his hospitality by taking the yacht out to sea while he's asleep. The guy in the yacht didn't actually own it, which is aside the point. It's also pretty apparent that Godzilla's role was written with King Kong in mind, which is an amusing anecdote. More importantly it features Godzilla's greatest foe, the Giant Condor. The scene where it came out of nowhere, fought Godzilla for a minute, died and was never mentioned again is truly the greatest in cinematic history. Somehow... Oliver returned. I was surprised that you recruited him by accident, but apparently he only moves when Rafiel is in his range. It was nice of IS to make his recruitment convenient like that. Too bad that doesn't apply to Stefan. I'm not sure how it reflects on me that I feel nostalgic for writing essays.
  14. I'm happy with that. I like ShinGoji's design but the face of the franchise being a walking tumor was a bit odd. They should've kept his tail-face when marketing him, at least. Sir, this isn't the unpopular opinions thread. Me too, I only get digital if there are no physical copies or if there's a sale (even though Sooks called me a nerd for it one time). I like how Musse is still the mascot of teehee. Hey wait a minute, you said you would put Rixia on this one. I don't know where she'd go though, she never says "teehee" in any game. Looking back, I wonder what that Korean Engage spoiler was...
  15. I like how every directer wants to make their own hype atomic breath scene and they all turn out different somehow. Relatedly, I've seen people say that Minus One is the first time they rooted against Godzilla. I'd say it certainly made him menacing. Don't worry, you still haven't played Trails in the Sky SC yet despite the previous game ending on a cliffhanger, so you might not be tempted to start Xenoblade 3 immediately. You say that as if not watching TGA is a bad thing. GODZILLA SWEEP Especially impressive since it didn't get any advertising, at least from what I saw, though I heard word-of-mouth was unexpectedly good. Is it? Pikmin has always sold decently well but the last main game was released a decade before Pikmin 4. Meanwhile, Fire Emblem rarely goes two or three years without a new game being released. Of course, Olimar and Louie are deeper, more complicated, and well-written than any FE character. Depending on how you count "fully" explained, one or two. It takes me back to when Fates came out, we are truly in the endless now.
  16. I haven't played Genealogy but Teens? But Olivier is 25. There is a reason Cassius wasn't around, but it isn't fully explained until later. I don't know if you plan on reading/watching The Lord of the Rings but Garrick really let himself go when he ended up in Ylisse. I wonder if it has something to do with three other people looking just like him. Have fun! Assuming you got this recently, I'm a bit surprised that you found a physical copy. If I had a nickel for every Teeheer who got Xenoblade 2 within the past two weeks or so, I'd have two nickels.
  17. Pictured: IS rushing to preserve the canon when they see a lord who still has a living parent I guess it's more like how they each used the Godzilla theme, rather than how many times it played. Singular Point used it every time Godzilla showed up, even before he really did anything, whereas Minus One doesn't play it until Godzilla attacks Ginza. The dad dies because they usually would be the leader of the army (and by extension, they would be the main character) if they didn't. Hey, you know what JRPG doesn't have a dead dad- Everyone knows that Chrom canonically died in Awakening's prologue. Everything he did afterwards was actually done by Garrick, but he was replaced by Chrom as the main character because IS thought he was more marketable.
  18. When you need a bigger boat I would main Olimar (they wouldn't exclude Olimar because Miyamoto would hunt the developers down if they tried). I don't expect it to happen but it would be neat if it did. Oh yeah, though I didn't notice it when I saw the movie myself. Godzilla vs. Destoroyah's ending theme also combined it with the Godzilla Suite. I feel like Singular Point overused the Godzilla theme, but I think Minus One made good use of it. That's a scowl, she's annoyed that her future self forced her to participate in a magical girl play.
  19. I suggest not trying to get every Rare Blade too early, you'll want to save some for the future Drivers. Also, fighting the baby Ardun in Torigoth is inadvisable. Of course not, it will be Nintendo Kart and there will be 25 Fire Emblem characters. I liked the part where Alcryst called Alear a pervert for apparently putting chains on Veyle's ankles. Should Godzilla movies be a somber exploration of the human condition, or should dinosaur fight big ape? I wasn't expecting Godzilla to get a redesign but I like the magenta-colored and crystalline spines. And I'm curious about Kong's new gauntlet; maybe Skar King will injure his hand at some point and Kong will get an upgrade?
  20. I saw Godzilla Minus One, it was peak. It was cool getting to see a Japanese Godzilla movie in theaters for once though the last two live-action ones were released in 2016 and 2004, so it's not too surprising that I haven't before now. Godzilla himself was comparatively grounded but no less menacing for it, and all of his scenes are very memorable. I've heard people say that the straight Neutral path is deliberately underwhelming to encourage players to pursue the other paths (which require more effort to access and thus I barely got to them when I was younger), so that might have something to do with it. Last fight, do you remember Aren't there only four Mario women to begin with? And Daisy basically started as a Peach recolor. That's not even getting into the Toads. Wait a minute... We're going to get Baby Pauline in the next Mario Kart, aren't we?
  21. The wind blows hard in December Carrey said he was considering retirement, so we don't know if he'll be in Sonic 3 yet. We also don't know who's voicing Shadow yet either probably Keanu Reeves or Robert Pattinson. That's true, but one of the fights could be Eggman testing Shadow to see if he'd be a worthy minion or something to that effect, since the Dark mission already has Shadow helping him. She looks more like younger Peach in a funny outfit than Peach's 'evil' counterpart. Either way, I'm glad Waluigi didn't get vetoed, the Mario universe is better with him around. I wonder if there's any concept art of Wadaisy...
  22. That's right, you can fight Kirby in Link's Awakening too. The model is recycled from Star Allies, just with different textures. Hey, you know what other game splits up the entire party and-- *shot* I actually like when RPGs do this, since it's fun and makes more sense than when half your party is bumbling around somewhere while the heroes fight a god of evil. Depends on if Jim Carrey decides to come back I think. It's a bit strange that Shadow the Hedgehog doesn't have an ending where he sides with Eggman, since the two Neutral endings are basically the same as is. I like how the Last Story preview is just Evangelion/Kingdom Hearts, a year before Kingdom Hearts released even.
  23. Just what Zelda needed, flying zombies. Leaked portion of the Zelda movie's script: Navi: They fly now! Zelda: They fly now? Link: They fly now! Godzilla Minus One is looking pretty good. Though I'm not sure how useful Zonai Mechagodzilla would be in fighting enemies, since it seems to only walk in a straight line. English speakers call it rice pudding, and many countries have their own variations. I still need to visit that Venezuelan restaurant, actually... This line of conversation is making me hungry. I had fettuccine bolognese the other day while we're talking about food.
  24. Have fun! And let us know when you get KOS-MOS. English (English) reminds me of Revolver Ocelot Always has been. Technically you can get more if you have multiple Switch profiles.
  25. Due to me bumbling around in Tears of the Kingdom and not wanting to go through the Fire Temple right now, I ended up finishing the Dragon's Tears quest before completing my second dungeon. Now to continue doing everything except progressing the main plot. When you work at a food store and Thanksgiving approaches
