Canto being brought back would just cause the game to, once again, be severely unbalanced in favour of mounted units (especially if it's full canto). The extra movement that mounted units have is enough.

It was kinda strange for me, in my first playthrough of FE7 I threw prepromotes (mainly Pent, Louise, Harken, Marcus) at everything and didn't even bother to train my main lords, who ended the game at around level 7 unpromoted (eliwood being the exception due to his forced promotion). Then I went on Gamefaqs and a guide told me that all the prepromotes were shit, even though they worked fine for me. But my 9 year old self was swayed and I stopped using prepromotes for like, 5 years. Then I heard about LTC's and wanted to try that out, which made me come back full circle.

Most pairings are kinda ruined by the fact that they jump to S-support. Which is why I like BrOTP's more than OTP's.

While he is better than most of the cast, he's probably the weakest of the royals. His main problem is that he's almost as slow as Xander and doesn't have nearly enough defense to make up for it.

Well the only canon incest pairing nearly brought about the apocalypse in FE4, so while it was there, it was painted in a negative light. The other incest pairings were optional.

I actually don't do Takumi/Oboro at all. Absolute wastage of the Lance fighter class aside, I find that, while it is a good support, both characters have better supports with other people

The Nohrian royals supports with each other are all pretty good.

Rinkah makes Shiro go from one of the best units in the game to mediocre. It's better to give the good kids the best moms and pawn off the shitty moms to the lesser kids.
