  1. If we do our jobs, Leo isn't making it to the second round. ;-) I hope Julia beats Sanaki, so I can join her when Henry is inevitably beaten into the ground. *sadface*
  2. I got my first armourquest victories today! ^_^ Hector is amazing, and Zephiel isn't half bad either. I don't think this would be easy without Draug's Ward Armour, either. Basically, armours suck, but my armours are somehow working.
  3. This was a bit disappointing, tbh. I didn't even have to swap out for a dancer. I used my regular team: Nino, Eirika, Kagero, and Cordelia. The strat is basically as follows: 1: Arrange units around Eirika, who stands three squares down from the dividing wall. Kagero is above, Nino is to the left, and Cordelia is below. 2: Kagero kills the sword fighter. Cordelia goes into her spot. The green cav is killed on enemy phase. 3: Nino annihilates the lance fighter. Cordelia attacks Xander. On EP, Xander is healed, then dies. 4: Cordelia Galeforce kills the cleric. (My pull luck is slightly ridiculous. I'm still using the first three 5* pulls I got, because they're just that good.)
  4. Well, I was going to save my orbs for a while, but then the silly May armour quest happened, and Hector's in focus, and, well... I ended up pulling only greens. 50 orbs later? +Atk -Spd Hector and +Atk -Res Julia. Worth. It. (Also, I think the game is trying to tell me to join Team Julia...)
  5. Mages? Nino? *Reads* Darn. Guess I'll go with Henry, then.
  6. You realise there's a whole thread about how most of what you've said about Lunatic+ is wrong, right? The balance thing is the only one that you have any case for. Meanwhile, Lunatic is fairly easy after Chapter 3. Chrom's arc has enemies that don't keep up with your own stat inflation, then by Valm you have Nostank and Galeforce access. The only bad balance in Lunatic is how simple it is to break. Now, to be more on-topic: I agree with OP that Awakening is better than Fates in many areas. My experience with Laurent (and Apotheosis, actually) also corroborates the Galeforce thing: it's not the be-all and end-all of the kids. I dunno whether this is the place to say this, but I get really annoyed at people claiming that Robin takes over the show. To me, that's kinda the point. There are three plot arcs in the game, and each focuses on one of the three main characters. Chrom gets the Plegia arc; Valm covers Lucina and her attempts to change the future; then the Grima arc finally tells us what's up with the amnesiac genius. Maybe I'll do another run. I mean, it's not as though I have all the supports and max Renown or anything...
  7. I just did 10-1 Lunatic deathless on my first attempt. Not too notable, you might think. However, I'd just finished doing Nabarl's GHB with Robin in my team, and I forgot to switch teams. And nobody was unequipped. And I didn't have a healer. Nino had to tank a lance to the face so that Eirika could go save Kagero. To save Kagero, Eirika had to take the red mage and the bow fighter's attacks (luckily Soren didn't have a square to attack from). Maybe I should break this down a bit. Turn 1: Realise I don't have Cordelia. Facepalm. Realise I can't blick the bow fighter on turn 1 with either Kagero or Nino. Arrange everyone around Eirika - Nino left, Kagero down, Robin up. lance fighter attacks the wall; axe cavalier follows him. Red mage, bow fighter, and Soren go right. Turn 2: Nino blows up the lance fighter. Eirika goes to stand next to her. Kagero heads right to intercept the bow fighter. Axe cavalier destroys the wall; ranged group attacks the wall. A lance cavalier spawns. Turn 3: I realise Kagero can't ORKO the bow fighter, so I send her back in range of Eirika's buffs. Nino blows up the axe cavalier. The new lance cavalier advances, and ranged group destroys their wall. An axe cavalier spawns Turn 4: Kagero goes into bow fighter's range. Nino obliterates the lance cavalier. Robin cowers in the top left corner. Axe cavalier advances. Bow fighter hurts Kagero and doesn't die. A lance cavalier spawns. Kagero can't kite any further, because of her crap HP. Turn 5: I'm fairly sure I'm done. After lots of calculations, I Pivot Eirika over Kagero, and have Kagero retreat one square. Nino blows up the axe cavalier, leaving her in range of the lance cavalier. Bow fighter and red mage attack Eirika, then Soren stands next to her. Nino is attacked but lives. One last reinforcement spawns. Turn 6: Kagero OHKOes Soren. Eirika goes right one and kills the bow fighter. Nino obliterates the lance fighter. Red mage attacks Eirika. Game. @Anacybele this is what a +Res -Spd Eirika can do. :-p
  8. It isn't just Ike, though? Look at Titania in 10-3. It's just a new mechanic, not an Ike-glorifying thing.
  9. Well, I've finished the ones I care about (being the ones that give out orbs). I got bored of leveling my Nabarl and Robin, so they're still only about level 30. But that was enough. Now back to getting Catria some kills. :-/
  10. It's not new; it's old. However, no. You are not alone in disliking it. There's a reason I switched back to the simplified version after trying the advanced one for one battle in Sacred Stones.
  11. ...an actual British-English localisation would be nice. I also agree that being able to see your units' asset/flaw combo in-game would save time, especially since I don't think we have the data to determine them at levels 2-19 at the moment. I don't want asset/flaw re-rolls, though. That would just force people to spend feathers on that to stay competitive. Learn to use what you have instead of complaining about what you don't. More free orbs, plz
  12. I use Kagero/Nino/Eirika/Cordelia. Most units don't give me any trouble on their own; my deaths come from being unable to separate the enemy in a way that's favourable to my own positioning. Wings of Mercy never bothers me, because I kill my enemies when I attack them. The one unit who does give me trouble is Hector, thanks to Distant Counter + Armads. To take him, I have to have a healthy Eirika. Nino can usually take one hit, but not the Armads follow-up, and she doesn't ORKO.
  13. Whoa, this is still alive? Time for an update, then. Where's my last post...? ... Okay, I have a few more to report. First, I got around to promoting my second Nino. On top of that, I got three of the spring festival characters: two Chroms and a Camilla. Total 5* units now at 12 (and will probably stay that way until the next limited-time banner, apart from a probable Sharena promotion).
  14. Well, in my recently-completed Gaiden run, I pretty much ignored any statues that weren't HP, Def, or Spd. I didn't even notice there was a Res one - that might have been useful to stop Alm being Sorcerer bait in the lategame. By and large, though, I found enemy mages slow and fragile, and thus easily ORKOed by my physical units. Res wasn't very important once all the magic enemies were dead.
  15. Well, that was easy. Nino + Eirika + Olivia = a lot of fried armours. (Zephiel got beat up by a teenaged girl what a wuss amirite)
  16. If you insist. A few assumptions, to begin with. First, information from supports is accurate even if said supports are non-canon. Second, the Future Past DLC gives an accurate picture of what would have happened in the "main" bad future had they not used the time-travel ritual. Step 1: Morgan's potential siblings remember them, so they are from the same timeline as the other children. Step 2: Morgan is said to be younger than any of their potential siblings. Since Laurent, at least, was born after Chrom died (from his supports with his dad), Morgan was, too. Step 3: Morgan remembers being called to by their other parent when they were younger, implying they were raised by said other parent at some time. Step 4: That brings us to the crux of the argument. If Robin was Morgan's mother, she must have been pregnant when she became Grima. Personally, I don't believe that Grima would care to keep the spawn of his vessel in his new body for nine months, but even if he did, Morgan would never have met their other parent, contradicting that A support. Thus, I have to conclude that Robin left his wife pregnant, and Grima came along later, killed the mother, and then raised Morgan himself while pretending to be Robin (or even not, given how fanatically devoted the Morgans are to Grima in the Future Past). Furthermore, Morgan's sibling supports imply that they fought together, which doesn't seem likely given Morgan's Grimleal status, so I think it's likely that Robin didn't marry any of the women with associated children. On top of that, Say'ri died during the Valm war in the bad future (so claims Yen'fay), and Flavia and the SpotPass characters didn't join the army before Grima's return, so Morgan's mother is either Anna or Tiki. Finally (I think), based on the Future Past again, I believe Morgan is actually twins. I think Grima brought one Morgan along as a backup plan - either as a spy or a second vessel for resurrecting the second timeline's Grima. The second Morgan would have been left behind to lead the Risen to ultimate victory in the bad timeline. And this makes me think that Anna is the mother, simply because she's not used to siblings having different names. Since she can't very well name her son "Anna", she got creative. :-p So there you have it: why I believe M!Robin x Anna is most likely required by canon.
  17. Thankfully, @Arcanite was wrong about the timing of the 20 orbs. Even more thankfully, lady Anna decided to finally give me what I wanted. Future flier quests will now be more pleasant, because FLYING MAGE. Now to hoard all of the orbs for the next limited-time unit banner. Fool me once, IntSys, and I'll never spend orbs again. So there.
  18. -> Clair Dammit, IntSys. I wanted to save my orbs!
  19. Well, Chrom presumably died before Cynthia was born in the original timeline. Even if not, Cynthia couldn't have been more than an infant, so of course she wouldn't have any clear memories of him. There's still nothing saying Sumia didn't sleep around after Chrom died, though. My crazy theories involve Walhart and Emmeryn's survival. I've posted them here before, but I'm happy to reiterate. Walhart says in his supports that his heart has stopped; he's actually dead. I hypothesise that he's actually been reanimated by a dragon (similarly to Lewyn in Genealogy). Presumably it's Duma in this case, or maybe Mila. I also believe Emmeryn actually died. Her body was then left in Plegia, and was presumably carted off by the Grimleal for some horrible purpose. And what do the Grimleal demonstrably have possession of? The Jugdrali Holy Weapons. And which Jugdrali Holy Weapon is unobtainable in Awakening (besides horribly evil tomes, of course)? Valkyria, which is notably stated to have limitations. I think that Emmeryn was resurrected, but the staff's magic couldn't completely recover her mind due to the manner of her death, thus explaining her state once Chrom finds her. (I have one more hypothesis, implying M!Robin is likely to be canon, but I think that'd be too controversial to actually post.)
  20. @SuperIb, would you be able to elaborate more on why the composition in this game is better than in other games? Examples would be great; lengthy elaboration will be read. I'm kind of an all-purpose nerd, so I'd be interested to read any insights you have. (Also, I find Awakening's soundtrack more generally hummable than Fates's, so I cannot agree with you there.)
  21. ...in Japan. Corrin was released worldwide in Smash on the 3rd of February 2016; Fates came out in the US two weeks later, on the 19th. EDIT: Ah, I see. Misread the post you were replying to. Please feel free to ignore this. >_< EDIT: To elaborate, Falcom made the claim that both characters were added to Smash before their games came out in Japan, which isn't true (although Roy was). So you are entirely correct. ^_^
  22. Well... What I'd like is something like this: "March of the Royals", featuring Caineghis, Tibarn, Naesala, Deghinsea, Skrimir, and Kurthnaga. Realistically, though? Valentia all the way. Probably Alm, Celica, Mycen, Nomah, and, uh... one of the starting party members from each side?
  23. Indeed it is. It's also nice to see my ranking going up for a change!
  24. Nah, Bride is a thing that exists. I am doing my best for Lady Camilla. 100,000 points so far, and still about a thousand flags to go through. Looking at the top-ranked people, though, I think a decent number have hoarded all the flags from the entire gauntlet just for this round...
  25. So I've been pulling only greens on the Spring banner to save orbs (and blues when no greens show). Of my last four pulls, two have been Chrom. While I appreciate the dramatic increase in 5*:orb ratio, I'm running out of chances to get my flying mage... :-(
