  1. "We'll be going in to rescue Raquel soon. You should go meet up with your teammates," Norbert answered, "The military's going to draw out most of the enemy so we can have as clear a shot at rescuing her as we can." Gytha didn't feel comfortable asking Amon about something that was bothering him when someone they didn't know was hanging around. She knew she wouldn't feel comfortable explaining something that was bothering her with someone she didn't know standing that close by, so she didn't want to ask Amon to say anything personal in that sort of situation. So, the best thing she figured to do, she did. She turned to the lady and asked, "Ahoy. Thar somethin' ye needed?"
  2. "Start distracting them and we'll get moving," Norbert mentioned, a little annoyed at how nothing was happening yet. Again he nudged Ranyin. The mage would have to wake up and get to his teammates, whoever they were. "Aye," affirmed Gytha to Altena's question before asking Amon, "So, what was wrong? Something like that happenin' t' ye?"
  3. "Nope," Gytha replied simply to Amon's question. She really couldn't think of a time where something like that had happened to her.
  4. Huzzah spoilers outside of spoiler tags!
  5. Before he could respond to Zel, the major general herself spoke up. She was acting all high-and-mighty again but she said a couple things Norbert could agree with, one of them being that they should get on with the rescue. For that reason, Bert bit his tongue. Though he hated it, restraint on his part was required at the moment. Anything he said would just give Raquel's captors time and the rescuers' advantage would be leaking away while Raquel's peril grew. I don't trust that knight, though. He's only protecting Raquel because of "duty." Tch. And he feels this bad about failing his duty, not because he's decided to help Raquel himself. And three leaders? Doesn't he know no one can really call more than one person their leader? He made it clear that his father is his master. That's not someone we can rely on. We'd be better off without this rank enthusiest. And this lady general. She thinks we wouldn't be going to rescue Raquel with or without their help? If I were in charge, I'd point out how stupid that is. Weyland's paying us for now so it doesn't matter if the military happens to have the same job or not. We shouldn't let ourselves be walked all over. I'll endure this for now, but as soon as we have Raquel, we're getting out of here. I'm not letting that general have her conversation. While the enemy has them distracted, we need to leave or Raquel's emblem might be changing hands and she'll be in danger again. This is stupid. "Ya a'right, Amon?" asked Gytha. Amon looked upset about something.
  6. "Of course you'd say that," Norbert responded acerbicly to Zel, "After all, you're one of them. I'd like to think that all humans are of equal value, though, and the worth of the thoughts, ideas and skills of individuals has nothing to do with rank. Besides that, I don't have to listen to any of you military types except to coordinate a rescue as two equal, separate parties. Where do you stand, anyway? If it came down to it, would you side with them or with Raquel? First and formost, who do you call your leader? Who do you defend?" Are you trustworthy? Should you even be with us? How long until you decide to trade Raquel's emblem in for favor with the military? His eyes were piercing into Zel as though trying to see the answers to his unspoken questions.
  7. "Why? What makes your priorities so much more valid than anyone else's?" challenged the pegasus rider. They think they're so much better than everyone else. All of them! Well, they're not!
  8. "What if she doesn't want to talk to you?" Norbert retorted to the major general, "Who knows what she's gone through? Her wellbeing takes priority; got it?"
  9. "Get going, then. Do your job so we can do ours," Norbert practically ordered Altena, in spite of his tone being oddly calm (though his glare sure wasn't.) He was more than ready for combat: he was itching for it. Either that or he was actually worried about Raquel's wellbeing. Either way, he was rubbing the grips of his maces between his fingers (though it wasn't entirely noticable since his arms were crossed) in anticiapation.
  10. "Thank you," Normbert mumbled as she rode off, in his state only having understood that if he drank this stuff he'd get more energy for a while. As he rode Rizen over to the gathering of his comrades, he decided to try the stuff. It was kind of like the red liquid he had in another bottle, but was far more diluted. Well, this should help me, right? I need to me awake for all this... So, he uncorked the drought and swallowed a fair ammount of it. His fuzzy prospective began to clear and within a few moments he was as alert as someone who'd gotten a full night's sleep. "Whoa!" he lightly, quietly exclaimed, blinking as his senses cleared. This is...really handy. I should keep the rest for later. Thank you, Erica. Man, I sure owe her for helping me out like that. If she didn't have this stuff -- what she call it? A light stimulant? -- then I would be worthless as anything but a human shield. Ranyin was still dozing behind him and hugging his waist as he pulled up for the meeting. So, again, he prodded the mage, but spoke up to the military woman adressing Zel as though he were more important because of a milita-- no, he wouldn't think about that right now. "Just tell us what we're supposed to do and we'll drag the others along and tell them along the way. We've waited long enough," he voiced. Gytha was distracted. She hoped Amon and Synthia would make it to the meeting in time...
  11. About the av: It's a mystery~~~ (Also, I'm crazy. You should know this by now. That could possibly me just getting really excited about something and flailing but you'll never know. LA MISTIQUE CONTINUES!)
  12. The techinque on your fence-sitting is astonishing, Phoenix. Where do you practice? Note: The above is just me being amused at how you're completely right, firebird, and yet still managed to sit on the fence.
  13. And then the announcement. "I'd better hear this," Norbert sighed before returning his attention briefly to his sister, "We can talk more after this is over, I hope. I don't remember if you're a Wrathite or not, but if you are I have some things to ask you about." Still, he was wavering between asleep and awake. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gytha saw Amon going over to get something from the wagon, or at least that's what it looked like he was doing. She simply walked over to listen to what their instructions would be. She also wondered if anyone had any food on them she could snack on. He stomach was waking up and she hadn't taken any sort of rations with her on the way out.
  14. I think people are giving you reason not to pass out CCs, Z. This is looking a tad scarey. o.o
  15. "Oh, it's a horse. That's too bad about Patches," comented Bert before answering, "You could say that. Been riding all night and yesterday was hectic. I got a couple naps in yesterday, but the longest was about half an hour long. Not enough sleep at all now I have to rescue that overpricing, pink-haired, new boss of mine if I want enough money to feed myself and keep up on maintenance..." He was mumbling now, his eyes had closed and he was slowly falling forward onto Rizen's neck. Then, some crazy woman with fake wings came up to them and asked him about people. That woke him up a little. He answered, "I don't care about Mercy's manners and our leader was kidnapped. We're on our way to go rescue her. I don't know about anyone with hair I'd call fiery except for Veronika who's right over that way. If you're talking about the pirate, Gytha, she's around I think. Weyland's back at his mansion. An archer with spectacles..." Like heck I'm sending this weirdo to Valter. "Not sure who you mean but there's an archer named Robin around here somewhere. She's a Skotian dragon-kissing nut with a cracked shell if you get what I mean."
  16. "Huh?" half-mumbled, half-groaned Norbert as he looked up to see a woman on horseback he recognized. "Erica? Oh right, you joined the military like almost everyone else. Though... Your pegasus doesn't have wings." Norbert was the smartest man in the world when he was half-asleep and only said notable things, never stating the obvious, obviously. He also answered questions aimed at him the first time they're asked, as you can see.
  17. @ Roy: Thank you!~ ^_^ @ Map: Oooo ruins. *suddenly wants to explore*
  18. "I would stock up if I had money. I'm broke," Norbert bluntly replied to Veronika, gratefully taking the offered food, "Thanks. I'll pay you back once I get some money." With that, he began hungrily eating the biscuit. When food was as scarce as it had been for Bert, he didn't care much about what sort of food he got so long as his belly wasn't completely empty.
  19. "We have food?" Norbert asked Veronika. If he was going to fight, he'd rather fight with some form of energy in him. "Where?"
  20. Why the jellybeans hanging from her (Lilith's) outfits anyway? @ John posters: LOL Miri looks awesome. Altena's hair exploded. The purple splash on (white) Lilith's coat tails looks...weird... Again, the black is better. Always.
  21. "No one's fighting yet, people're just getting ready for combat," Norbert replied then yawned widely. A moment later his yawn was finished and so he was able to continue talking, "As for me, I hope I'm not useless. I'm so tired I'm aching and no one's even taken a swing at me. Hopefully the adreniline can keep me up..." Even as he spoke, though, he was swaying as though he could fall out of Rizen's saddle and he could barely keep his eyes open.
  22. Gytha muttered to herself as she sat up and stretched before rubbing her eyes and blinking a few times. It was morning and there was something of a commotion going on. Also, they'd stopped and were again with the military people. It seemed like Gabbie was getting everyone up, but some of the mounted members of the group were swaying in their saddles, barely keeping their eyes open. She felt kind of bad for them since they didn't really have the opportunity for sleep she had. Still, she was well-rested enough and stood up where she'd been sleeping atop the wagon and stretched some more, getting herself awake and her blood pumping. After warming up, the mariner swung into the wagon from its roof and located Maw to tend to her eye as she did every morning. Once that was completed, she headed back outside and drew her sword. Most ev'ryone's mostla asleep. Those of us who've had more sleep should be ready t' step in fer them since they obviously won't be at their best.
  23. Norbert was awake. ... ... Kind of. He was concious but not entirely coherent. When he landed Rizen this time, it was less graceful than the previous landings. Just to help things along, he twisted to face behind himself as much as he could, then tapped Ranyin and muttered, "Hey, wake up. We're supposed to get ready for combat since those wyvern dung-eating scoundrels who stole Raquel are close by." Again, he wasn't entirely coherent and only half awake.
  24. Unless you coma again, I assume.
