  1. Characters either start with supports, such as when childhood friends have a B support right off the bat, or can gain supports through events. Events are unlike support conversations in that each is a one-time deal, and they include recruitment, a talk event, an after-chapter event, or maybe special events. Each event increases support level by 1. Talk events can be done at any time, but other events only get their opportunity in a specific chapter (eg, two characters were fielded during a certain chapter and their levels compare to some value, I dunno, maybe like if a certain character visits a wishing fountain I DUNNO IM NOT CREATIVE) In addition to generally having an A rank support, two characters that are married get an additional Bond bonus. I miiight make it so certain characters can marry during the game through events to gain that bonus, for example Valhalla and Vanaheimr would take a relatively simple event to get married since they're already A-ranked lovers when they join. But this isn't Awakening/Fates, some 99% of characters will only have one marriage option (ignoring the fact only like 5% of characters will marry at all) (Also, supports don't have to be with other playable characters, eg. maybe Bartholomiese has an A support with Haluto or idk just an idea) ehhhh what the heck sure that's an acceptable level wao Gomoz is intimidating :D but uh wait is he a Warrior lol or are you just leaving his class free I also like Oma conceptually and of course the mug is pretty nice too c: no dear i only wish i still looked that young
  2. Yeah I've used Twiddler to set everyone's hair colors to their fathers', I think many of them look much better that way. As for using fefates-tools on my gamedata.bin, character data shows a support ID and a parent-child/sibling support index, but I'm not seeing any, like, pointers to where I'd look to actually change options for a character. No convenient list of options, either. I'm using Character.nmm, Character_C.nmm doesn't look too useful and there's no such thing as characters.nmm here?
  3. Going backwards! IMO what made Bartholomiesie more pitiable was the implication that Haluto is gone, effectively or completely. Not that there's anything wrong with Ahlberht and it's probably better not to repeat the same thing for both of them anyway but hey idk i don't think susie is a bad name ~'3'~ *shot* Twinblade isn't something I haven't thought of, but coding the menus is nooo thanks 3 personal skills hmmm... Well considering the nature of the skills and the nice mug he has |D I think I can make that work, I wouldn't for an earlygame character or anything but it's probably not a bad idea anyway to have a handful of people as the game progresses with 3. So yeah '3'
  4. Yes, you need a 3DS, with homebrew (if its firmware is old enough you just need a wifi router, otherwise you might need to buy stuff to get homebrew on it), a (preferably physical) copy of FE Fates, an SD card, and a way to get files on and off the SD card. So yes it absolutely requires money in some sort of way, there's no way Team If would condone piracy of the game, but the particular hacks on display, even the playable Shepherds, won't cost you anything extra if you have the basic Fates necessities and homebrew.
  5. I mean R-descriptions already exist on the player side of the fourth wall so Vanaheimr mug cool yes looking good Hawk Edge is uhhhh I'd rather split that into two skills than having two cases like that, so if you have a name for the other one then '3'
  6. It's possibly a little grim yeah but arguably that makes you feel for him, whether or not that makes you inclined to use him is *shrug* but yeah I'm fine with it
  7. mugs :D Khris sounds cool, and more higher-level supports sound cool. Though, should he: start with no support, gain C rank upon recruitment, and have an event that gives them B or start with a C support, gain B upon recruitment, and have an event that gives them A Also, Hawk Edge... Does that mean, trigger true hit of true hit? So if it activates and he has 75% hit rate, then his hit rate goes to 88%, with effective true hit of 98? Since by default hit rates already use true hit. I like the trio, I think I know where they can fit in. Bartholomiese's personal sounds great and complements his stats but all the others have interesting things going for them too
  8. Doesn't Ohana's featurelist include model importing? As replacement rather than addition though well idk I added some model files and couldn't get them to do anything but that's not saying much. Its other restriction (vertex count) doesn't seem too hard to get around, though I'm unsure how things might play out ingame if you change the meshes. Also as a side question, if I wanted to add a support option to the already-set-up gay hack...
  9. I mean I dunno it sounds fine on paper but I'm not worrying about really balancing numbers right now, that'll come when I actually get to the relevant parts of the game
  10. idk yeah like some boss ideas can be nice to have but i generally prefer to make a chapter and make a boss that fits that than making a boss and a chapter that fits them, with exceptions of course but yeah it is a good point that personal skills not used by players could see some use on a boss doop
  11. I've never tried opening the models with photoshop but yes the models are all super huge, or at least they were when I exported to .dae (for the sake of keeping bones, though not all of them totally work) Anyway from the looks of it Ohana is only showing you one of the meshes of a two-or-three mesh model, and all the model files contain only the damaged versions of clothing, with the file with the similar but longer name containing the texture yeah No clue about coloring, you got it a lot better than I did, all the textures are like 90% transparent so like idk not helpful just the various stuff I've found that might inspire some approaches
  12. The original wasn't bad, there was just like half of his head apparently missing for some reason? The new one though is cool good job I'll definitely use it As for modified skill, sure, though to make sure, does it work closer to Bloodthirst (effective just this turn or phase) or a Taker(effective until the chapter ends)? Guessing the former, but making sure.
  13. Psychologist, Lady, Butler, and Imperial-blank classes are classes of characters people in this thread have submitted, Kabocha, Camilia, Lyallone, and Wilhelm respectively (I'm pretty sure). The first and last are basically a Troubadour and a sword-tank Pegasus Knight, and the two in the middle are totally unique. Stahlfaust, Mahkin's class, is a class from FE7x that's basically an armored sword unit.
  14. Huh, did I say that was a comprehensive list of the anima tomes? What about Aircalibur, Entangle, the S-rank(s), and at least one more that hasn't been revealed? @Ranxan, I don't see why not~ @Gordon? Sorry I didn't explicitly mention in-thread but yeah I added him to my list.
  15. (Also uh since I'm using NTR, is there any way to screenshot? When I try to open up Miiverse it just hangs)
  16. Sorry for interface-related confusion, anima is branched by default in FE7x but I'm going to remove that in favor of standard GBA Fire>Thunder>Elfire>Bolting>Fimbulvetr Characters who use both magic and weapons currently seem to automatically set their strength/magic to power instead which is the same for both, but my plan is: Classes will generally have a specialty between physical and magical--typically physical, meaning their magic is half their strength like in GBA. But some characters will have skills that make magic=strength, magic=0, magic=some other stat or value, etc. So on that note, I wonder if the monochromatic Nobles have different specialties or if they all have the skill where they're equally proficient with weapon and magic.. (EDIT: though for how many units there are that use both weapon and magic I might just leave it as-is where except for certain rare cases they're the same, but that's not really something individual characters need to worry about, just saying their relative proficiencies) If you want archeriness, I can do archeriness. Preferably somewhere from midgame onward, though the later you are the less appealing an unpromoted archer would be to most people unless there's something cool skillwise going on. Weapon icons are neat, is there anything specific about those weapons that should be followed or are they just icons with names?
  17. Yeah stats are GBA level so +4 is technically a very large bonus, but considering the activation conditions meaning to get a player phase move out of the buff or reposition yourself for enemy phase to take advantage of the buff requires help from at least one other unit it seems fair to make it a powerful skill. Bosses, I see no reason why not. I'll need to make a consolidated list for them at some point too... Though I think we have a few now so we're pretty good on archer bosses.
  18. *types up post* *clicks EdwardSunnyDisposition's name history since I don't remember seeing you here* *post deleted, rip me* Reisen by Ciraxis, Elise by Lenh and Aeo. All those people are great, real and otherwise :D I generally try to kinda go by what Marc's interpretation of Reisen seems to be. As for the sociopath stuff later mentioned, hm? No s/m split, it's not a system I like. I will add "some things" though. Yes yay I was going to give her Monk spritestuff but whoop lucius not there so doop I can still fit people in if I like them, the two factors that make me most likely to add more characters being that they have a portrait and/or that they seem interesting for gameplay, and well, you sprite, so '3' Gethits Yeti did for some classes, but I do like them too... We'll see whether I add them for everyone else, I'm unsure. Hmm alrighty though honestly I'm unsure if that skill needs nerfing from Fates, since an appeal to it is how you can take a glass cannon unit and by making them do what they do best, they can afford to overextend a little and cover up what they do worst during enemy phase, and the recruitment conditions well i'm into elise so i'm unsure if like maybe what he considers sexy should be specified otherwise using my preferences he'd end up a total lolicon (though in that case there would be a few cast members that could handle recruitment, but i'm not sure if that would be too awkward for you to see your character do XD ) EDIT: oh right yeah and sniper bosses represent ~'3'~
  19. Details like extra effects of Demonic Arm I'm not concerned with at the moment--I went and coded a few skills today but as a general statement I want to hold off on doing them too much because that's more stuff to port between private beta versions. A bonus of some kind for using the same weapon type as the enemy would not hurt, I noticed while doing some random mid-level testing today that hit rates don't scale all that great currently for some unknown reason and that'd help give more control, other things sure maybe Burning village is a thing, I can add flame pillars might be interesting Oh yeah swamp map the Fates swampy thingy was pretty disappointing but it didn't seem too hard to make it a neat idea landslide valley already a thing c: snowy variant hmmmm idk I'll play with events and see how that ends up, I did something kiiinda similar in my Ragefest submission and it was a ton of manual eventing the particular way I did it so Uhhhh like idk lol tomorrow I guess I can make a list of what seems like a reasonable variety of characters and you can just pick whichever seem up your alley from there? Oh no that sounds pretty reasonable for Angelicus, makes it more interesting than either of the effects as standalones. I'll put that on the sheet but not ingame quite yet because uhh and so as i've alluded to in each of the above paragraphs (not too strongly though so no hard feelings if you missed it) and after watching that sure go ahead and check out Maritisa's Ragefest project/non-submission, Revenge of the Emblem, it's like on page 2 of Fan Projects or something. I say to do that after because my random scatter-things-wherever map and all the halfway-unfinished things in it demonstrated like *cough* a certain game was at E3 yeah trust me don't look at my thing after looking at even those early screenshots of rote
  20. Uh that probably depends on what you want to ROMhack, a lot of stuff is already possible, as shown here? Such as, I'm trying to piggyback off of the gay hack's NTR patching deal, I've done it for some other files but I noticed dialogue text talking thingy files with Japanese names have that crazy text for a name instead, like pü½püÄpéäpüïpüù_të¬péÆpéépéëpüúpüƒµÖé.bin.lz How do I translate to and from this nonsense text, with actual Japanese characters? (Or does it even matter for this but I still want to know because I see this a lot and can't find a real answer)
  21. @Tag Team: I have no clue, ask Klok, I sure didn't write that skill description. I'll probably rework it once I start coding skills. also whoops was abaddon a dark mage i thought he was a monk So by details you mean like fancy trim or slick hair or whatever? Orrrr?
  22. Sure, Riley added. Reisen gets a unique class, not dissimilar from Maritisa's rendition of her in RotE. Camilia yaaaasss just yesterday I was going through characters and hoping she'd appear soon, so :D I absolutely will take more sprites, do you have any preference as far as what types of characters you like to sprite? There are somehow already enough archers-that-promote-to-warriors, I guess people agree that that's something that FE should do more. So if you're okay with me changing that to Sniper or maybe Ranger(modified to use lances) or Nomad Trooper then I say sure that sounds good. IfAwakened can go ahead and list characters, they do need doing (except for Magnus, who was in a list requested to another spriter already) I think at some point I'll make just like some random demo map to screenshot some things, not sure when I'll be able to do it though because I'm busy Sunday for several reasons and busy today for reasons related to them.
  23. A silver weapon will start slowly gaining critical bonuses starting at +3. If it were a Javelin or Nosferatu or something then no amount of forging can make it critical, though.
  24. Sadly Stephan joins some time between chapters 20 and 30, and I haven't started on 16+ yet. I am however finalizing (more or less) the characters for the first 35 chapters, I'll run backwards through the past 10 pages or so and pick up skills and items too probably. There are two characters I was thinking of adding that didn't have characters for, a kind of Samson and Arran situation where recruiting one makes it so you can't recruit the other. They'd both be working together but they'd hate each other enough that the main character offering work away from the other will sway either-xor them, likely one would be an Archer and perhaps the other a male Troubadour or some unique class that has existing sprites? Not sure, trying to give the player options they'd find useful after a difficult Chapter 15:
