I need to find new things to do, but I don't want to do anything but stroke my FE14 hateboner.
-
I mean that instead of trying to translate it for being more accurate, it was translated to be less accurate and more tedious. At least, that's what I felt was going on when Amielleon chewed him out in every update post on his Tumblr.

People keep telling me to see a psychiatrist. how is that going to solve my problems.?
-
I am not trolling. My feelings are genuine.
-
But when people say they like it or the characters, it makes my skin crawl like nothing else. I NEED some way of getting out my hatred just as strongly as my feelings are.

I don't wanna.

...How should I publicly express how much I utterly disrespect this game?
-
Humor makes me cringe. What should I do? If you reply to this jokingly, I'll spam up the board with screaming.

What's so wrong about FE14 flagellants realizing they were wrong and exposing themselves for what they are?
-
Why did you do this when all you should've done was just fixed the ending? I don't remember playing this game and asking myself "This game would be GREAT if the dialogue became three times more prosey and retranslated all the names to lamer ones".

FE Game Patch with the original (japanese) Enemy stats?
Alandrage replied to Hannes's topic in Fire Emblem
Doesn't the final Chapter open the boss rooms two at a time in the Japanese version? How are you supposed to Nightmare that fixed? -
Humor makes me cringe. Give the Elite Manual to Tina.

"I just want to know one thing!" - Fire Emblem: Fates
Alandrage replied to Rapier's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
How do I get over the feeling of hatred and nausea every time I read talk about this game? -
Really, it was the promise of CG fight scenes that keep people watching this show in the first place, and it's really not going to improve if its only unique factor is going to just get worse from here on out. Personally, if the people making this show just wanted to make fight scenes with rainbow-colored characters, why is this show not just one-shot fight scenes? That'd get much more appeal than pretending there's any kind of narrative.

Darn it. I'm sorry for being presumptuous and assuming. I genuinely thought I was just stating my position without being rude, and I thought psychological projection was the only way I could argue against this show. I was wrong there. But I just had to comment. I've been told recently to try and make conversation as much as possible to gain friends/aquaintances, and since this show is something I'm emotionally invested into arguing about, I couldn't resist coming and making a comment here. Still, I can't emphathize with your enjoyment of this show.

I'd like to disagree with you, but I've been told by several people before that just jumping onto a thread and telling them they're wrong is needlessly cruel and antagonizes yourself to everyone around you. I'll just say that if you're just categorically attracted to anime girls and anime tropes, damn all else, there's nothing I can say that'll dissuade you from liking this show. But I do think your answer to the question of "why is this show so popular" doesn't actually address that question so much as it rationalizes your enjoyment of the show.

What happens to Plegia after the game?
Alandrage replied to Magical Glace's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
The entire culture is deemed heretical to the gods, and Chrom's Archanean Empire proceeds to slaughter every last man, woman and child left in Plegia, as well as till their soil with salt, for being a "slave to evil". Lord knows it's not like we're ever told their populace is anything OTHER than one-dimensionally evil death cultists.- 23 replies

I'd just assume the argument of rape or general sexual assault was a given on the fact that the game basically gives you a free pass to make an entire cast of characters fall in love with you and bear you a moeblob child - a cast that includes the aformentioned dragon loli and her daughter (Nowi and Nah), two shotas mages (Ricken and Henry), two giant rabbit-people (Panne and Yarne), a clutzy meek prostitute (Olivia), a swordsman with a pathological fear of women (Lon'qu), a complete neurotic wreck perpeually enamored with somebody else (Cordelia), a world-conquering maniac (Walhart), and a victim of permanent brain-damage who can barely even speak. Happy birthday, Integrity. Just curious, but how would you feel if somebody used this series as an excuse to bash FE4?

Do you like the story telling in the Akaneia games?
Alandrage replied to Jagen's topic in Nintendo DS Era
I just remembered something: This person called FEPlus said that FE3 used "all the dialogue it needed" to characterize its relevant characters, using Elrean in Chapter 10 as an example; and I'm inclined to agree with that viewpoint. And personally, it's easier to create your own personalities for characters by how they perform for you than it is to suffer through anime pratfalls and TVTropes article padding. -

So the consensus is "good on retrospect equals awful"?
