  1. In the end, while Medeus would have reached his full potential using the combined powers of Elice and Aum, it would've been Gharnef who ended up conquering Archanea. As the game implied, both Michalis and Gharnef had plans to betray Dohlr at some point. However, unlike Michalis, Gharnef held all the cards that would actually enable him to do so - namely Falchion and Tiki. While he didn't have the ability to wield it himself, and I don't thiiiiink Elice could've done so (thobe able ugh I could be wrong), the Daughter of Naga, wielding her own Divinestone, would be able to smite the Shadow Dragon where he stood, as she's been known to do in-game. Once the Dohlr empire ruled all, it would just take Gharnef sending his little loli assasin over to cut the head off the dragon. With Gharnef having conquered Archanea, I imagine Xane and Gotoh would go North to the Ice Dragon Temple, and stay there, to allow things to play out; Gotoh's faith in humanity was already thin come Shadow Dragon, and, while Marth was able to restore it over the course of the game, that obviously didn't happen in this reality. So that's another player off the board. That, of course, leaves Michalis. The problem is, once Gotoh leaves, there's no way to defeat Gharnef. As far as we're aware, he's the only person who knows how to use the Star and Light spheres to craft Starlight, which is itself the only power able to stop the Darksphere. So, without that knowledge, I imagine Michalis would attempt to supplant Gharnef, but would end up failing. While it is possible that he'd follow Anri's Way to go track down Gotoh for help, by then the thieves would have arrived to steal the orbs from the Thane of Ramen, and Starlight would be lost. Game over, return of Ganon.
  2. To celebrate Fire Emblem's 30th anniversary, my friends and I decided to retranslate the lyrics from the original Fire Emblem opera that was created for the commercials for FE1 back in 1990. We did our best to make these new lyrics fit the timing of the originals, so that they could be sung like the original song. We also took the time to create a music video to go alongside the song, featuring scenes from every main series game to go alongside the lyrics. We hope you enjoy!
  3. Since it's been nearly two years since Banryu did his post on the Lodestar, I thought I'd try my hand, since I recently gave him a full build. I will go on his base stats, but remember that those can have 6 or 7 added to them easily through merges (which are cheap for a 3/4* unit you probably have loads of in your barracks) and Dragon Flowers. Also, before I begin, shoutout to @BANRYU, who did a build of this man back in 2018. You can find his thread here. Marth, the Hero-King of Altea, the Star and Savior, and the slayer of the Shadow Dragon, is unfortunately rough to use these days due to his generation one stats. He has a BST of 158 at neutral IVs, though his speed stat (with a boon) is still respectable even for Gen 4 standards. He also comes in with a salvagable defense and a decent HP and ATK. His RES, however, is hopeless. He does come with a PRF weapon - Falchion (Mystery). Like all Falchions, his is effective against Dragon units, and gives him an innate Renewal skill, which can be really nice, and led to a full build template focused around this specific weapon. His refine, however, is what put him on the map as one of the best buffers of Generation 1, by giving a spectrum bonus of +2 to allies within two spaces during combat. Even today, that bonus is nothing to sniff at. It's a very easy condition to meet, and any unit who needs buffs could make use of it. * Level 40 Stats: HP: 37 / 41 / 44 Atk: 28 / 31 / 34 Spd: 31 / 34 / 37 Def: 25 / 29 / 32 Res: 20 / 23 / 26 BST: 157~158 Default Skills: Weapon: Falchion Assist: Pivot Special: -- A-Skill: -- B-Skill: Escape Route 3 C-Skill: Spur Speed 3 Star and Savior - Physical Tank
  4. Correct, me. I don't check SF as often as I should, but questions should be directed to me.
  5. All right folks, it's me again. Unfortunately, not a lot of great information from the past few months. Our team has become pretty strapped for time, with multiple of our members getting really busy, and personally I've taken a huge step back from the project to focus on school (I'm graduating college in six months so long as I can keep from failing classes for five minutes). Unfortunately, that's 1/3 of our project team, putting a massive hole in our ability to function. And remember that I'm just speaking for myself; the rest of the team is suffering from similar time issues. We've also been slowing down a lot in general. With TMS out, however, we have a newfound vigor, and hopefully we can get that taken care of quickly. We had a meeting today to set up a plan that focused on everyone's strong points, and hopefully we'll be able to get out of this funk at some point. Thank you for keeping up with us through these past few months, and with any luck we'll finally get off the ground as a team. -PHK
  6. I put in my first vote today towards Sain. The rest of the week will be split between Arlen and Marth.
  7. None, because Legion wears a mask. The mask is red af, but his mouth is clean.
  8. That's fair. If the game isn't fun for you, then feel free to drop it. Just don't delete your account. Uninstall the game, sure, but keep the account around just in case you ever decide to pick it up again.
  9. Maybe not necessarily a writer, but I just want to use this thread as another excuse to say that I would love any Fire Emblem game directed by Masahiro Sakurai. The man has professed his love for the series before, and he's amazing at making games. Plus, his favorite game is (or, at least was last I heard) FE4, and I always love when elements of Genealogy show up in other games.
  10. Character Name: Alwin Forum Name: TriforceP Class: Fighter Affiliation: Protagonist Recruitment: Talk with "Lord" (or some character appealing to emotion) Recruitment Time: Act One 96 x 96 Face Portrait: Other Notes: Not actually a bot, but fought alongside them for the hell of it until given an actual reason to do otherwise. Generally will take the devil's advocate in arguments just to get a reaction. Has a distaste with authority. Great on speed, not as much on defense. Resistance is decent though.
  11. I was fully expecting them to do some kind of "Fjorm died while you were gone and now you have to fight her" reveal or something when they went to Hel, so I guess I'm just kinda miffed that didn't happen.
  12. I hope this won't be a recurring theme, but I have to wonder if it will be
  13. Wasn't Fjorm dying at the end of Book 2? Does she just not exist now, or...?
  14. I feel like those complaints don't come from an actual dislike of dragons and demons; I feel like it more comes from the ending of the game feeling underwhelming. The final boss is a figurehead of the end of the game, and if the leadup to that final boss isn't properly led up to or treated with care, then the entire boss battle can feel underwhelming, and it's easy to blame the boss itself rather than everything surrounding it. Dragons and demons have both been done both well and poorly in Fire Emblem, and it's not the fault of the concept. It's the fault of the execution.
  15. Special shoutout to BSFE being... pretty much exactly this at some point Navarre, Castor, Rickard and Lena working together to break into a castle and steal gold for the poor
  16. Thank you for giving us that link, Sonic. While what you passed us won’t be the most current script for much longer, it gives us a place to look once Encore releases in January. When that game does come out, all of you wonderful people who donate your time to keep Serenes Forest updated, our main request would be to get those scripts for Encore up ASAP so as to better help the patch’s progress, (and of course, anyone else who has an interest in TMS). The thing is, we don't really need partial scripts. We want to scour the entirity of the game, down to the most seemingly insignificant speech box, so we can search it for direct references to dialogue in FE12, or more commonly speech patterns or verbal nuances of characters to pay attention to (after all, everything in the patch should ideally be consistent with localized games). If you can help us with anything, it would be getting interested parties to get to work on Encore quickly once it releases. If there's something that can be done now, it would be nice if we could get people to finish the scripts for Warriors, including DLC and supports, as that's less likely to have a sudden resurgence in the near future. For both of the above, we should probably reach out to the Reddit community as well; thank you for bringing them to our attention. Speaking of, we should discuss how Encore affected this project when it was announced. As we previously said, we’re trying to collect the data for all officially localized dialogue in their most up to date forms. On the down side, TMS#FEE does push things back a little bit in this regard. We will continue to work, however, and focus on characters who don’t appear in TMS. That is a part of the reason we’re waiting on getting all of these quotes to finalize anything; we don’t want to waste time retranslating and reimplementing lines of dialogue we’ve already worked on simply as a result of discovering previously overlooked dialogue or a recent release we hadn’t kept up with, so that every bit of time we’re putting into this project is moving it closer to full completion. On the plus side, this will mean minimal changes to the patch will be required going forward from the most recent release, and once all of the data is current we will need to put in considerably less effort in the future. We’re laying the groundwork with the long term in mind currently. As stated above, a finished script for Fire Emblem Warriors and its DLC in both English and Japanese is the best thing we can have right now, seeing as how Encore will update the content of TMS. If you guys could help out with that, it would take a lot of stress off of our shoulders. Don’t take this to mean that progress is necessarily at a standstill; we are currently still working on aspects of the patch related to characters who do not have any direct relation to TMS or Warriors. As of now, don’t expect our first patch until sometime after TMS Encore releases, so we can implement the changes in that rerelease. Thank you all once again for your patience, and I hope that the new translation will be worth the wait for all of you! Best, Project Hero-King
  17. Before I list this out, asking about the Thracia regalia is kinda a non-question, since almost every regalia in those games comes with a specific weirlder in each generation *Rapier: Phina *Noble Rapier: Brave Marth *Starlight: Gotoh and/or Linde (Alt) *Luna: Brave Chrom *Astra: Virion/Deen *Sol: Gregor/Valbar *Lady Blade: Malice *Helswath: Lex/Cherche (Look at the art. I'm fairly sure that's what Cherche's Axe was meant to be) *Yewfelle: Brigid/Faval *Gungnir: Travant/Areon *Beo Sword: Delmud *Bragi Sword (Ftfy): Diarmuid *Aureola: Yoder *Apocalypse: Niime *Rex Hasta: Marcus *Rienfleche: Rath *Luce: Renault *Gespent: Canas *Wishblade: Tauroneo *Double Bow: Rolf *Baselard: Volke *Matrona: Rhys *Ashera's Staff: Sephiran *Balberith: Izuka *Goetia: Henry (Refine) *Hagakure Blade: Sumeragi *Waterwheel: Reina *Aurgelmir: Gunter (Refine) *Pursuer: Setsuna (Refine) *Chakram: Jakob (Refine)
  18. It's about time. I'm just mad this banner came right after Brave Heroes and dancers when I spent all my orbs 😭 Glad we got Phina and Sirius. Navarre will no longer have to be alone! Norne is great too but not drawing because obvious demote is obvious. Eh on Nagi. Glad she's in but don't need her. Happy for Astram because we'll finally be getting Mercurius. Feels so weird that we've gone so long without it, especially with Gradivus, Parthia and Hauteclare having been in for so long. Also echoing peoples happiness about Bantu coming in as 3/4*. Tbh he doesn't deserve a five star level, and this could lead to units releasing faster, which would be gr8.
  19. This happened to me twice playing Blazing Blade, though I hadn't gotten that close to the final boss either time. That really sucks m8
  20. When I played Dragalia Lost, I ended up finding a group of people who just play Gacha games. Their Discord server had a FEH channel not because people there liked Fire Emblem (most of them seemed generally clueless about anything outside FEH and Smash whenever I talked about it), but because of the Gacha elements. So I imagine that's where most of those people come from.
  21. My guess: Jill (Axe) Rinkah (Axe) Severa (Bow) TT: Awakening!Anna (Sword) Also, Rinea is in the game now, so she shouldn't be counted on the list for this banner. Other people have probably pointed that out already, but just mentioning it.
  22. That's fair. I mostly did Arran because New Mystery implies him to be the "canon" choice... and I honestly know less about Samson anyways, so it was a little harder for me to write one for him. Though I assume that, if he had one, it would probably go in the same place. Maybe it would be something to do with Sheena? I need to look into their history together a little more. Possibly. I haven't played New Mystery in a few years. I could see it though. This thread is reminding me that I really need to replay the Archanea games. Thanks to everyone for the corrections! The idea of using the Sable Knights would be great. As stated previously in this thread, Camus needs a lot more work in this game, and outside Nyna, they are the best characters to do that. I was disappointed they weren't retroactively added into Shadow Dragon.
  23. Yes. Yes please. Shadow Dragon has some of the best writing in the series, and its biggest problem is that there's barely any of that writing to speak of.Let's see... If Barst and Darros are alive after Chapter 2 Barst and Darros discuss Darros's life as a pirate, and Darros lets him in on the secret of where the pirates main base is. With Gomer dead, the pirates are weak, but not defeated, and the two of them decide to go and kick out the rest of the pirates. This eventually leads to Barst getting the idea in his head to become a pirate at the end of the game. If Ogma is alive after Chapter 12 Caeda and Ogma reminisce about their first meeting, when she saw him being beaten in Knorda. With Grust now having left Archanea, they (and possibly Bord, Cord and Barst) go to free the remaining slaves kept in the gladitorial arena. If you want to redo his backstory a little, maybe you could have a cameo from Samuel/Samto in here too. If Wendell and Merric are alive after Chapter 15 With Khadein free, Wendell notes that a number of his students are still unaccounted for, and he realizes that Gharnef has had some of the more promising acolytes carted away. Alongside his student Merric, the two follow the captors in order to save the kidnapped mages. Possible cameo from Arlen, and maybe even some much-needed interactions between Gharnef and Wendell. If Arran is alive after Chapter 19 Approaching Grust, Arran reveals to Marth his history of knighthood, and how he had previously served a Grustian lord who was tyranical to his own people. On their way to Castle Grust, they pass through the lands of said Lord, and they decide to give the people a better life by removing the Dohlr-supporting, peasant-murdering lord. If Lorenz and Ogma are alive after Chapter 20 Lorenz explains to Caeda that part of the reason Ludwik fell so quickly to Dohlr was because his children had been kidnapped early in the war, and were being held hostage. Ogma, alongside any other mercenary-types remaining in the army, agree to go free the children. Cameo from Yuliya and Jubello, as well as establishing the relationship between Ogma, Lorenz and the twins. (Yes I really like Ogma shut up) If Est and Abel are alive after Chapter 21 Honestly, I feel like their relationship is among the least developed in the whole series (at least as far as localized games are concerned), and that needs to be fixed. The two of them get to know each other over the course of the game, and there's an obvious attraction between them but neither is willing to admit it to the other. While waiting in camp the night before attacking Michalis, Est expresses a desire to visit her home village again. Abel volunteers to join her and her sisters on that visit. There, they find that it's being held under an iron fist by the Macedonian military. They free the village, and at the end Est and Abel confess their feelings for each other. Also, MAJOR shoutouts to Etrurian Emperor for an amazing idea on that Hardin paralogue.
  24. Hello everyone! It’s been some time; apologies for the silence lately. We have been quite busy over these past six months doing a number of things, and we felt that it was only right to tell you all how we’ve been progressing over that time. For one, we’ve actually been learning to do this. Outside Hero of the Emblems, none of us have actually done any work on Fire Emblem modding at all, so it took some time to get used to it. This was an especially high hurdle in this case, since not only did we have to deal with translation and localization of text, but also editing graphics. While he’s not part of the team, I want to give a special shout-out to PikaSamus for sharing his expertise on graphics editing with us to help get through that. There were other issues regarding the ROM itself as well. Namely, there were a number of unnecessary repeat files, which were causing issues with the ROM’s performance. Cleaning that up fixed quite a few errors and bugs. We aren’t sure when exactly these files came to be in the ROM, but it seems to have happened at some point before we came on board; that said, we aren’t completely sure, and the issue is solved now. Lord Hyness took the lead on all of those technical issues, and, while some of those changes may be +invisible to all of you, they were imperative for the rest of us. That said, you may have noticed a lack of actual localization in that list of changes. That’s because there is a lot of overhead work going in. As has been stated before, we don’t just want to simply translate this game; we want to make it localized and polished to a point where it feels completely in line with the other games officially localized by Nintendo, down to painstaking details, down to a list of which games to prioritize when there’s conflicts in tone, localized names, etc (Shadow Dragon obviously topping that list as highest priority, followed by Echoes). This means quite a few man-hours going through already-localized games to cross reference and then document relevant passages in both English and Japanese, (especially collecting quotes from New Mystery itself that have already been localized via instances where the game was directly quoted) so that we can remain in line with references to the game in other entries in the series, even including Heroes and Warriors. Not only that, but we want to make sure we remain true to the characters. We want their tones and personalities to stay in line with how they’re portrayed in Shadow Dragon, Heroes, Shadows of Valentia, etc. This is a lot of work, but in the end, it’s worth it so we can put out the most accurate and enjoyable translation that we can create, in a reasonable amount of time. The release of Three Houses was both a boon and a large amount of new content to sift through. That game officially localized a lot of things from New Mystery which haven’t been previously localized, as well as from the other Japan-only games. An example of this is that the tome formerly called “Shaver” has now been officially localized as “Cutting Gale”. Even though it gives us more work, it allows for even more accuracy, which, as stated earlier, is the real goal of this patch. Currently, we are combing carefully through the content of Three Houses to find things relevant to New Mystery in our free time, but be rest assured we are striving to do so in a timely manner all the same. If you want to help us in any way, we do have an important request: as previously mentioned, in order to put out the best product we can, we were hoping to collect quotes from every Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem-adjacent game... including Warriors and Tokyo Mirage Sessions, which both include numerous chunks of dialogue directly quoted from New Mystery. However, we have been unable to find complete text dumps for either of those games, which makes our research incredibly difficult with regards to those two. If any of you just so happen to know of a place where we could find such a text dump for either game, we would appreciate that more than you know. That’s about it from what I can think of for this update. We have a LOT coming down the pipeline, even some things beyond just a basic ROM translation, and hopefully by the next time we make a big update post like this we’ll have even more to show you all. Unfortunately, quality takes time, but I promise it’ll all be worth the wait in the end. Until next time! -Team Hero-King
