  1. I'd say Best FE6: Lugh (Literally the best unit in the game, destroys everything he touches), Raigh, Milady, Gonzales, Allen/Lance, Deke, Rutger FE7: Hector, Raven, Oswin, Pent, Lucius, Farina FE8: Seth (God-tier), Ephraim, Gilliam, Tana, Lute, Gerik, Joshua Worst FE6: Sophia, Cecilia (I would put Wendy on here but my current and only Wendy is doing impossibly well, can't say much about Juno or Dayan) FE7: Eliwood (No joke, I stand by this), Karla (Haven't used, don't want to), Nino, Wallace (If you're not using Oswin, you're most likely not using a General at all), Dorcas, and Bartre. FE8: Ewan, Amelia, and Knoll
  2. I can't tell you how many pixels exactly, but in tiles, each piece is 4 wide and 2 tall.
  3. Coming back to this after a looooong break. Anyway, I figured out the problem with the wall tile change, and it was rather dumb... The reason it didn't work was simply because the layer's ID was 0...even though it was supposed to be 0 because it was the first tile change layer. I guess the game has some code that triggers Layer ID 0 automatically before the map was loaded...or something like that. Still can't figure out how to have units attack walls in cutscene without crashing the game tho...
  4. I put 10 as the y-value because while the actual breakable wall is at (3,8), the tile change is 3 tiles tall with the wall being the bottom tile. Changing the coordinates from (3,10) to (3,8) causes the map inserter to give the "Unassigned Tile in map" error.
  5. Here it is: http://i.imgur.com/2DaMtIE.png I did it the same way I did my doors. I'll take a look at it.
  6. I'm coming back to this to say that my problem with walls is solved. (For the most part. I'll explain the new issue in a new thread) I ended up switching to Tiled since the EA method just wasn't working for me. Thanks for the help Prime.
  7. I'll get straight to the point. When I have the wall tile on the main layer (As seen here: http://i.imgur.com/w32M3XS.png)and the tile change above it on a different layer, the breakable wall doesn't appear initially. It works properly and disappears when destroyed (finally), but I have to suspend and resume for it to appear. However, when I do it the other way around, This happens The wall spawns with 0 HP and to get it to disappear, I have to suspend and resume. Simply put, I don't understand exactly why this happens, especially since the doors work fine. Also, how do I make units attack a wall during an event? (The opening_event specifically) Using the FIGH command just freezes the game. (Most likely because there's no unit to fight) Placing the Wall unit (0xFC) creates a glitchy brigand that also freezes the game when attacked. That's all for now.
  8. You can change the titles in FEditor's text editor. There's two lists. The first list starts at text index 055C. I can't remember what that list corresponds to at the top of my head. (Status screen maybe?) The second list starts at 058C and that corresponds to the save screen and chapter banner.
  9. Other people are showing off their sprites and splices so I thought, "Why not?" Here's what I've done so far for a hack that I'm working on. Completed: WIP: Old Versions:
  10. Adding to an existing chapter, my prologue chapter specifically. Should've specified. If possible, can I see an example of said tile change? How would I set that up?
  11. Oh I'm gonna be doing this a lot, aren't I... Anyway, for now I have two questions. First off... How do I make generic enemy units? Secondly (and the main question), how do I make breakable walls disappear and snags fall after being destroyed? I understand that it has something to do with tile changes, but all of the tutorials that I've seem only cover doors and chests. I can't seem to find anything that covers walls or snags, nor can I find the Event Assembler codes for walls or snags. I tried inserting this based on some things that I've seen on my search for info, but it doesn't work. Third, if I wanted to make a unit fight the wall in a cutscene, would it be a simple FIGH command in the Opening_event? Finally on a related note, how do I change the amount of HP a wall has and if I can, will all walls have the same amount of HP? (100 is a bit ludicrous and it would with my intro cutscene.)
  12. I did. I made the map with the FE7 tileset first and saved that. When it came to FE8, I went over it with FE8's tiles and saved it to a different file so that wasn't the problem. However, your response did put me on the right track. I opened the FE8 map, changed the tileset to FE7's, and overwrote FE7's FMP and MAR files. I still don't know what exactly was wrong with the first map but it's working now. Thanks!
  13. There's probably a better, more descriptive title for this that I just don't see at the moment... Anyway, I inserted my map into FE8 and it worked fine like so: But when I insert it into FE7 (I made this version first) the tiles are all screwed up. I made the appropriate changes in the Chapter Data Editor so I don't know exactly know what the issue is. Does anyone have any idea what could've gone wrong? My Nightmare settings:
  14. Oh, Sun and Moon? I'm getting Moon, and I was Team Litten from the start.
  15. Black 2 and White 2 are the best Pokemon games, Greninja is my favorite starter and Pokemon in general. Ehh...somewhat. I've had my anime phase about a year or two, but I haven't watched much since.
  16. Ummm...Hi there! ...*sigh*, okay. I'm SaXor, your average video game nerd and half of the stuff I'm about to say is already in my signature. My introduction to Fire Emblem was back in the long lost year of 2011. I played Sacred Stones on the 3DS thanks to the Ambassador Program that I wish I still had, and my initial thoughts were...meh. TRPGs weren't my thing back then. Recently (a few months ago), I revisited Sacred Stones because one of my friends started playing it...and I was hooked. I don't know what changed tbh, but I found my self loving it. I moved on to Rekka no Ken/Blazing Sword and loved it even more and I'm still playing it to this day. (I'm doing my first Hector mode playthrough atm. It's going along very smoothly, even though I've gotten around 3 or 4 no-stat level ups in this playthrough alone...). In such a short time, the GBA games managed to become some of my favorite games (Except Binding Blade, it's...okay.). But that's enough of that, I also like Pokemon, Megaman, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and many more games outside of FE. I want to become a game developer in the future and I've dabbled in not only Game Maker and RPG Maker, but rom hacking as well. Ever since I was a child (9, 10 years old maybe), I've played around with all sorts of game editors. I'm even making a Mario World hack with one of my friends, but that's for another forum. I've been writing this for FAR too long so I'll just get to the point. I'm furiously trying to get into FE hacking and aside from looking up info to help me while I'm playing a game, that's the main reason why I'm here. So that's all! About time I finished writing this, and if you read through all of this, I'm sorry. (Btw, the end of that monstrosity of writing totally wasn't rushed...)
