  1. If I said I never looked up how to get this character or this item or this extra chapter, I'd be a liar. Did any of us know instinctively to beat the game once, get Nils to level 7 the second time through (assuming you knew to start over in Lyn's mode again), choose Hector's path and then haul ass over to Kishuna in an extra chapter, all to get the dragon kids' origin chapter? Really?
  2. "Wario Land Shake." Also extra FEDS confirmation, for what it's worth. Works for me.
  3. I didn't care too much for the pick-an-opponent one-at-a-time team fights in 7, but I was somewhat thankful for their existence, and would've been more so if I had much more people to do it with. What would you predict, or want to happen, for the wifi component that is apparently being put into the game? I'm hoping for traditional Emblem fights (although I could see them deciding that itwouldtaketoolonglol). I could see people using generic soldier-type characters in tactical fights, maybe with some of their homegrown units thrown in that would function like the average rts' hero-type units, or using their own team entirely, maybe with some situational things like "protect/assassinate this," survive x turns against greater numbers, or a large amount of generics versus a tiny team of homebrewed. Thoughts?
  4. She doesn't have truly exceptional stats, but in Dawn, her Hit Points, Magic, Skill, Speed, Luck and Resistance are all at least 40%, her luck growth being 70%. You got unusually unlucky.
  5. Hot Fuzz. Kung-Fu Hustle. Watch them.
  6. Not to mention how he got more or less manipulated into falling in love with, y'know, his sister (it's okay, everybody! they only share the same dad, is all! l8 )in order for him to have what you could somewhat accurately call the reincarnation of the devil for a son.

  8. Rooftop duel- 2-person match where the entire match is spent on the roof of Luigi's Mansion. Use as many stocks as you wish, though I'd use 1. The point of the match is to force your opponent to land on an area of the stage that is not the roof, say outside or on a different level, or to KO them if it goes on long enough. Recovering onto the roof after being knocked off, but before hitting ground, is allowed. Failing to recover to the roof = 1 of your stocks gone. Edgeguarding is allowed and encouraged as far as I'm concerned, though you're free to do a variant where the only fighting happens when both duelists are solidly on the roof.

Eyup. I enjoy Kart, but sometimes I need a racer whose competitive rhythm doesn't run on bullwark.

    I hate AP exams....

You mean he isn't constantly snarking you guys up? How far we've drifted.
  11. If I had a list, the topper would likely be Deep Purple's "Knocking at Your Back Door"

    I hate AP exams....

    1. That was said facetiously. 2. I take AP classes. 3. They r ghey.
  13. Lex + Ayra gives the kids incredible stats, turns sword-users into absolute tanks, and gives them the Holy War equivalents of Vantage and Paragon. It's rediculous. Holyn will make his kids fairly good, if a bit standard sword users, though if Shanam has a little accident, it's possible to give one of them the Balmung, which is why I would consider this one. Claude + Sylvia gives you a chance to use the holy staff that can bring back the dead in the second generation, though I don't know whether it would get repaired in the generation transition if Claude used it, and you would be dang hard-pressed to raise the cash to repair it with Corple. Azel is an alright replacement, as is Levin, though Corple won't be able to use the best magic book ever until he promotes, and he comes in as a low-level on-foot healer is the third-to-last chapter, so, yeah. Aideen isn't terribly important, since her kids won't ever get a chance to use a holy weapon (and end up getting left in the dust), though Mideel can pass down a Hero Bow to his archer knight son (Jamuka can also do this if paired with Aideen, and yields better stats, but he will not give his son pursuit and is better put with Bridgette). The daughter will be an alright healer regardless. Fin will give Lachesis' children alright growths and is vaguely implied in Thracia to be her canon husband, though Beowulf will give his sword knight son a weapon that does not suck, the charge skill (which could result in getting in an extra attack, or possibly his children dying) and base stats that actually give Delmud something to work with. Levin + Fury = The best magic user in the series for a son, though Sety comes in a bit late. It's also canon, for whatever that's worth. The peg knight daughter will be serviceable with nearly any dad, and Claude or Azel both serve alright as replacement fathers to Sety (I think Claude will slip Sety the zombie staff, though I wouldn't take it for granted. Sety will get pursuit regardless because of his mom, so Claude's bollocky skill set isn't as big an issue here). While Azel + Tiltyu will give 2 children which come in early, are not too strong starting off, and can become good in time, Levin + Tiltyu gives 2 quite good children, one of which comes with Haxsety, who will serve well for the entire second generation (as opposed to where Fury + Levin gives a one-man rape machine that comes in somewhat late). I recommend Azel. If you're entertaining thoughts of Claude and Tiltyu, know that while the kids will have fair stats, they will not get pursuit and Claude will not slip Arthur his staff. While Lex will give his kids that awesome vantage + wrath combo, they will have neither pursuit nor very good magic (more severe in Arthur's case). Try this for a change of pace. Jamuka gives Bridgette's son, who will have his mom's holy bow, a redonkulous attack power, though an oddly low skill score (for an archer). Holyn, the other most viable candidate, gives both kids fair speed, skill and strength, gives the low-level thief daughter pursuit and makes her remotely usable. I suggest Jamuka because I feel the daughter is unnecessary, the son will have enough hit percent anyway, and I am biased.
  14. Gaiden's got some more traditional rpg "walk around in a town" parts, possibly some kind of interactive overworld map and from what I can tell, a very different leveling/class system from the others. I wouldn't be able to praise or defame it by a personal account, though. 4's my personal favorite because it's a good deal more challenging than most of the others, it actually gets more difficult as the game goes on instead of less (I found that near everything in Radiance turned into a slaughterfest about the time Ike promoted, though it was still definitely still enjoyable), and it had a great plot (though not terribly awesome dialogue) that relied on politics competently, instead of "Dude, they jacked the Emblem!" Also, based off track record alone, I'd say that Manfloy and Julius are the baddest dudes in the series.

    F-Zero

Anybody else played any installments of the closest thing Nintendo has to a skill-intensive racer? I've played GX (the gamecube one), which is terrifically ridiculous, and own a version of the original SNES game, both of which have a great arcade feel and are insert-controller-inside-tv-screen difficult.

  17. 4-Levin, Levin, Levin (Sigurd and Jamuka also, bollocks to Celice) 7- Hector, Hector, Hector (Dart and Bartre also) 8- Gerrick 9- Haar, Haar, Volke, Volke (Shinon also) 10- see 9
  18. I think that's what was said. About endgame time for me, the recruits, the desert mercenaries and Myrrh just go aggro.
  19. Hajime no Ippo is probably my favorite "like a billion episodes long" show. I enjoy thoroughly, but have not entirely watched, Outlaw Star, FLCL (in a fairly long while), Berserk and the 60's/70's seasons of Lupin III. Ashita no Joe is terribly melodramatic and takes about every animation shortcut in the book, but I enjoy it anyway, mostly because the main character is such a fantastic douchebag.
  20. Not I. "Dang royals and your blood-mixing hanky-panky."
  21. Ah. Good games to him, then. And ditto's are always quite amusing.
  22. All the Star Fox stages, all the F-Zero stages and Halberd split my favoritism.
  23. Guy from elsewhere who fought me and the TC the other night. He saw the lag taunt, left the game, re-freaking-joined later and responded to the lag taunt with the fag taunt every time it got used, and it's pretty obvious he made the taunt specifically for Arc. So, he's kind of a douche.
