  1. For the longest time, I've had Lute as my favorite Mage/character in Fire Emblem but now...I put her as my favorite Mage for the GBAs. She excels in the magic stat that she's known for and while the rest of her growths aren't at the same level as her magic, they are well rounded enough to not be too much of a hindrance (see Lilina's 20% skill). Pent and Nino are closer to Lute in terms of my rank than they used to be but Lute gets the nod for me.
  2. This is one thing that I slower have started to come to terms on. While I could understand having plenty of options for a different experience on multiple playthroughs, I have a hard time taking the game seriously when I see an option to reclass Chrom to an Archer/Sniper (I could have been seeing things honestly). Sacred Stones I thought had a good split class branch (much like Secret of Mana 2) option for most of the classes/characters. I did however feel there were a couple of awkward instances, those being Artur and Moulder, because of the alternate option. They both could go Bishop but then there was Sage as well, which I don't really think it's 'as' fitting for the starting class that they were, Monk and Priest respectively. On the other hand, Tana and Vanessa could go Wyvern Rider instead of Falcon Knight...so there's that too. That being said, I don't think it took 'too' much away.
  3. It's pretty sad that Sothe is the one exception to the balance with PoR. But I do agree that this one feels like the most balanced given the growth rates and decent base stats to go around.
  4. Early on with playing, I would promote before they reach 20 and would notice that the stats feel much lower than desired. Since then, I've made it a point to have them reach 20 before promoting and I usually never regret it.
  5. Greetings all. My name is Taprus and for some time, I've been wondering about joining the Fire Emblem forums that is Serenes Forest. I decided that today/tonight would be that day. My first memories of Fire Emblem are very unusual in that I vaguely remember seeing Fire Emblem for the GBA in a Nintendo Power magazine but not thinking much about it at the time. Some years later, I decided to try out Path of Radiance for the Gamecube but being too hesitant to go past the first couple of chapters due to the concept of perma-death. Eventually I decided about 10 years ago, I would give it another shot and I'm glad I did. It was through PoR and then getting a deal on both Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones that I would slowly but surely find a love and knowledge (limited) of Fire Emblem in general. I'm not familiar with all of the Fire Emblems, as I've only really played/owned the North American released games. I have some experience with a two translated games like Binding Blade (FE6) and New Mystery of the Emblem (FE12) but would like to try out the oldest games of the series at some point. Here's hoping I can share and relate to the topics that go on here at Serenes Forest. :)
