If you want another source to look at for potential rules/ideas to borrow, there's Iconoclash, it's basically Smash as a board game instead of a TCG, but there should be a decent number of similarities you can pick up from the youtube videos for ideas to swipe.

...UHHHHHH I got hit with a warning for saying Areahdbar or however you say it looked retarded. Not for me saying the thing looked like someone attached a dick to a pole and called it a lance, but because I said it was retarded. I'm of the opinion that this is one of the dumbest possible reasons to warn someone, so I refused to acknowledge the warning, originally until it expired, but then I think I had a killer idea for the WYBO thread so I ended up clicking it earlier than intended. However, at the time I wasn't thinking about the fact that I was a) in an RP thread, and b) without any alternative means to talk to Anon, effectively deleting me from the group in the middle of the campaign. Anon himself didn't realize what had happened until he tracked my DeviantArt account down and sent me a message there. I'm not sure that alone killed the thread - I know Peony was super hit-and-miss for a while too - but it certainly contributed.

Hm, this is good to know. I'm probably not going to use any of these, since I have other Units I like better. I was planning to just pick one and sack it for the new swag, but it sounds like they're all bringing something fairly niche in their new stuff that doesn't really work with older Units that well, if I'm understanding this correctly?

We actually discovered Battle Network because my brother got BN4 Red Sun as a present when we were little, so I've watched him as he 100%'d the game. I also watched him go through most of each of the first 3 games(I missed some because he would keep playing after I went to bed), and have done some of a Blue Moon playthrough myself. I got pretty far through both paths of BN5, but then we lost the save, so I've been procrastinating going back to that because I already did most of it. I actually really like 4.5, especially the tournaments, and Elecman is probably my favorite to use, the game just feels like it could have used a little more tweaking, which is basically what we got with BN5(I'm running Double Team DS so I got the few extra features that has) so that's neat. I'm mostly joking, though I wish your suggested scenario was the case.

Hey, has anyone on here used bluestacks to emulate anything? It's looking like nobody on the FEH subforum emulates the game at all, so I guess I'm checking here and the reddit for opinions.

If so, which one are you using, and are there any tricks one should know before starting? The old emulator thread has been dead for like a year now and I want to make sure I'm getting up-to-date info, so I'm asking it here. Thanks in advance for any help.

The closest thing I'll ever have to a real job The Discord server for Exceed has a database bot named Ballot that you can use to pull up certain cards. However, up until this week the database has been missing all of Season 1(Red Horizon), most of Season 2(Seventh Cross), and all of Season 5(Blazblue), which coincidentally happens to have had its physical release on April 20th, since your recent Thread reminded me about things related to that date. Anyways, that would be me copying up the cards for the missing entries so that the gentleman in charge of Ballot can get them entered in since I have notably more spare time than he does - at the current rate, he can only get maybe one character put in per like two week period. In contrast, this 13-character block has taken me about 3 days.

I'm busy doing this but I intend to put at least one thing in once I get that done.

This is giving me Stratego/Battleship vibes - like a Trading Card Game where you build the deck you play pseudo-Stratego with, then each player gets, say, three targeted attacks, where you can spend your turn to select a card and try to guess something specific about it(type, attribute, power level, etc., has to be a tricky thing to prevent just wild guessing). If you guess correctly, the card is wiped or takes damage, making careful and correct use of your targeted attacks potentially game-changing. Is that similar to what you had in mind? Ah, ok. I'm not familiar with either of those, not big into Final Fantasy, so the YGO aspect is probably where I would shine more. I did offer a take on Hrothgar's earlier idea, though, feel free to pick stuff from there.

This seems to me like you're looking at a game that would work off the player's emotions - perhaps winning creates a state of hyperawareness regarding one's own feelings and emotions, where the usual feeling of winning a game is, if not intensified, then felt more fully, maybe leading your protagonist to being constantly chasing the high of more and more important wins. By contrast, losing could dull one's senses, leaving the loser with a feeling of emptiness since their awareness of all feelings is being dulled. For mechanics, you mention it being a YGO-like game. Perhaps you could be a little more clear as to what you mean by that?

Spider girls annoy me because people who make them invariably just take a regular girl, attach a spider torso and legs to her butt, recolor her normal legs to match, and ignore the fact that she now has ten legs instead of eight. If I were to do that with like a Centaur people would be outraged, but since Monster Musume did it with Rachnera nobody bats an eye at ten-legged Spider girls. The human half should directly sprout from the spider half like Snake girls or Centaurs do instead of making me wonder why the Spider has its head up her butt. For other arachnids, I actually did attempt to create a scorpion girl at one point, but currently she's stuck in limbo with a decent number of my other characters who just don't really fit anywhere in my stuff. I am going to make one clarification I forgot, Bee girls can occasionally be ok on a per-case basis. They're not my usual cup of tea, but every now and then I've run into a Bee girl design that I can appreciate(as a character design, not necessarily in a sexual manner). Fair enough, r/greentext is the extent of my 4chan knowledge so I definitely viewed them from the lens of a redditor, call it getting both of them at once maybe. Either way I'd argue the women comment still seems to stand. I considered actually adding Bury the Light's lyrics as italics like I did with One Last Time, because it would have been extra funny to have "I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING" interspersed throughout, but eventually decided against it. Instead the reader can decide if they want to listen to it themselves while reading. Also, I don't know if you've ever heard of Triple-Q, but if you haven't then I recommend him. Have some relevant examples of his work.

For the record's sake, I want it very clear that was Altigan endorsing bug monstrosity breeding, not me. My Monster Girl repertoire does not extend to insect girls. Also the main character was meant to be a stereotypical resident of 4chan so obviously I had to come up with some way to make all women evil.

Anyways, I don't have a serious list since our casual Risen player moved to Japan a while back and I haven't really played in a while. However, I will recommend the two "???" cards if you haven't already checked those out. Female one is a heavy control option, since it locks enemies out of CC-ing and can pop one of your Risen for +20. Male one has an untap gimmick for your Risen, which allows you to take advantage of any kind of rally card. If you're willing to do multicolor, Lyon and Fomortiis both have some support for Monster Units, and you can use Magvelian Terrors like Baels or Gorgons. Other than that I'm afraid I don't have too much to offer, sorry.

I know you found the answer already, but I do want to make sure to confirm it for you and hopefully help describe where your friend is missing the idea. Basically yes, you have it correct - since Corrin is acquiring the skills instead of rewriting the skills, it's a new instance of the skill. It sounds like your friend is using Yu-Gi-Oh! as a reference, since he's basically describing it as functioning identically to YGO's "Hard OPT" wording - namely, implying that the OPT marker means "You may only activate this effect of 'Corrin (Kingdom of Valla): Monarch Forging a New Future' once per turn." If this were true, you would end up with scenarios like this: -Deploy "Corrin (Kingdom of Valla): Monarch Forging a New Future" -Use "Blade of Divine Majesty," Banishing the top card of your deck -Class Change "Corrin (Kingdom of Valla): Monarch Forging a New Future" into "Corrin (Kingdom of Valla): Monarch Forging a New Future" -"Corrin (Kingdom of Valla): Monarch Forging a New Future" cannot use "Blade of Divine Majesty," since a "Corrin (Kingdom of Valla): Monarch Forging a New Future" already used "Blade of Divine Majesty" this turn As far as I can remember, Cipher exclusively uses YGO's "Soft OPT" as a basis for their OPT skills. This means that each new instance of any given card has its own instance of each OPT skill. I don't think any of the characters that allow you to have multiple copies of themselves on the field(early Anna cards, one of the Fallen Takumi, Risen/Faceless) have OPT skills but if any of them do that's another example - if one Anna used a OPT skill, that would not prevent other Annas from using that same OPT skill if it's printed on their cards. Hope that helped explain the situation for your friend.
