Tharja's interesting because she at least has some serious character development, though you kind of have to dig into her Supports to get it all. Camilla's more of a sad disappointment because they almost had something interesting going with her mental issues(Ghaast on YouTube did an interesting video about her I recommend alongside all his other Support Science videos if you haven't seen them yet) and they just let it go and made her this disturbing…thing, especially in Warriors and Heroes. Charlotte's parody-ness does make for something to ponder, but her clothes still make me uncomfortable personally, even though I know it fits with her personality and end goals. Most female gamers I've discussed Fates with always act like I'm somehow weird or messed up for being bothered by it, though, and it drives me nuts to not be taken seriously there.

Lucina, arguments against her can be made, but Roy's completely-opposite-of-how-you'd-expect-a-swordfighter-character-to-function hitbox placement has kept him considerably different from Marth, though it is unfortunately for the worse in his case. Greninja was chosen long before X and Y were released - when Sakurai chose Greninja, I'm fairly sure nobody outside of Nintendo knew it even existed as it most likely hadn't been teased yet. Sakurai made a gamble that people would like a Ninja Frog as opposed to so many of the other Pokemon already out there that would just as easily have transferred over to a fighting game like Smash(Blaziken, Zoroark, Machoke, Hitmon-pick-one, etc.) so I'm not sure how that argument doesn't apply to Xenoblade when it's the exact same situation - there are obviously other options from Xenoblade itself without X or 2 getting involved, like Dunban, who I heard a lot of people talking about during the Ballot and had to go look up because I didn't realize he was the guy in Shulk's Final Smash. Why is it so weird to believe Sakurai might make a gamble on a Xenoblade X/2 character instead of just tossing a moveset for Dunban together when that's literally what he did with making Greninja instead of just choosing Infernape or heck, bringing back Squirtle or Ivysaur?

Jumping in late without reading most of this thread so someone may have addressed this already, but if just being a clone is the issue, I believe several people online have done Mods for Project M or similar hacks that bring Lucina in and give her a unique moveset - my personal favorite was a Masked Lucina alt that had, among other things, Aether's spinning animation for the Neutral Air. Sakurai could probably find such mods and replicate bits and pieces of each to create a new moveset easily enough.

Sounds good, I'll give them a look. Is Xenoblade one of those series where you need to play the first one to understand the second and so on, or could I just jump in with a later game if I somehow can't find the first one(I prefer physical copies for most games) and not be too lost?

Welp, @NekoKnight, I suppose it's time for an OP update reminder! Things that have happened since you last updated include: @Nankaina requests addition to list of Spriters and has also completed at least two Requests on this thread in addition to the Requests completed on the previous incarnation, fulfilling requirements. Good ol' @peevthesheev has been making several additions to his personal portfolio if you want to start that list of stuff people have made and added on here that was on the last one. @GenericHero has also added several sprite creations, and @Lord_Grima has also completed at least one request on here should you restart the personal portfolio stuff. Immatx, Fala~of~Velthomer, and myself have also added Requests that remain incomplete and need to be added to the list. I have also added a preliminary image for a weapon from a different game that should be easily accessible and usable to all Spriters once someone cuts it out of the black background in PhotoShop or something. I dunno if you want to start some kind of section for Assets brought from other non-Heroes sources to this Thread or not, but it's there if you wanna give that a try. I'm willing to get screenshots for pretty much anything(Weapon, Helm, Cape, possibly Armor for reference purposes) I can find in AQW as well.

No problem. I think my biggest concerns for FE16 are more along the lines of fear that we'll have way more fanservice characters considering how much of Camilla and Tharja's popularity ended up coming from that area, which is kind of a shame and would be concerning(for me at least) for more reasons than one. I did realize I was worried about getting a second Corrin-esque Lord once you brought up it maybe ending up barebones, though. I hope they'll be more careful about making sure it has a decently-written story this time around.

Is that a reference as well? Eh, I guess I could see Square being stupid about that. Me, I'm a little worried about losing Ryu, and Megaman while we're on the subject. Also, if someone could please make certain Bayonetta does NOT return, that'd be great. I mean, Snake was cooler anyways. Oh wait, Sakurai mostly does this stuff based on recent or(in Corrin's case) upcoming games…and there's a certain game that happens to also be by Square Enix that's supposed to happen this year…and now 5mash…COULD IT BE?!?! Not gonna lie, I'd buy a Switch and the game and drop even more money for THAT DLC, even if it meant Square said no Cloud then.

I…don't even remember Selena and Subaki's Supports, I just always pair them for Caeldori's sake. Hang on, I'm gonna look it up and see if it's decent too. EDIT! Ok, so Selena and Subaki's Supports themselves are honestly kind of forgettable. I still push for the pair because Selena and Caeldori.

She never said she knew the game would be barebones, she was stating her fears are that either the game will be barebones or that it will be delayed, you simply tripped on the wording she used, which is a common enough mistake, especially on the internet.

You know, I bet Sakurai realized that if he made Bayonetta crazy enough, she'd be so divisive to the Smash Community that the moment 5mash was announced everyone would instantly leave Sm4sh behind, and if they ended up just making Re:Sm4sh, all he had to do was add a BoTW skin for Link, an Odyssey skin for Mario(let's be real, it's going to happen), and the Inklings as an extra fighter and everyone would toss their WiiUs as soon as they could. We've all been baited and played like children.

+5 DEF in Heroes? I'm mostly concerned that Priam's weathered damaged Ragnell will end up more powerful than Ike's full-power undamaged Ragnell and consequently tick people off(especially a particular Ike fan I don't want to watch get mad and have everyone dogpile). Ok, go ahead and give us your best idea of how Levin Sword, Amatsu, and Priam's Ragnell should function. And no, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious as to what you'd do if you were in charge of adding those three weapons.

Yeah, Amatsu is a Range 1-2 in Awakening, it's just you only get one and the sword is locked to Myrmidon and Swordmaster, so it's not the most memorable. Yeah, I meant effect. I think they ought to reflect the time that's passed, I'm just not sure how - they can't really reduce its Might or players might complain, and Ragnell doesn't do anything besides DC.

Agreed. Yen'fay would work, though, and Amatsu could easily be a DC Sword too. Would it still just be Ragnell like Ike's, though? Considering it's worn down from who-knows-how-many-years worth of use and that it's lost the divine blessing, I feel like they ought to reflect that somehow.

My point is that if I really want to use a specific moveset that only Link has(in this case the Spinner, which is my third favorite moveset in the game behind Volga's Spear and Zelda's Rapier), but the person playing with me has the same idea(in this case the Gauntlets, the moveset my cousins love the most out of Link's arsenal), one of us has to get shafted. Looking at what you initially said... …this remains incorrect - there is an excuse for clones, so that players can use movesets they enjoy without having to worry about shafting the other guy, in addition to saving time, effort, and money for the devs. I don't have to worry about whether my friends or cousins really like to be an Archer because they think Takumi looks boss or a Pegasus Knight because they have a crush on Caeda, as I can just pick Sakura or Cordelia and get the same moveset. You still run into issues of people wanting to be specific characters(like when everyone wants to be Marth), but that's actually something Hyrule Warriors didn't completely fix at all - what if my friend hated Wind Waker and doesn't like Young Link? I certainly don't want to be Toon Link or Young Link for various reasons, but if we're both set on being regular Link then one of us is going to end up unhappy with the character we're forced to use. At least with Fire Emblem Warriors, we can both play Marth's moveset, which while not the perfect solution is still something, or one of us can use Masked Lucina, which is technically the same thing.
