  1. Are you using the European version of Fates? If so, go through everything inside the "m" folder and rename anything named @U to @E. Randomize your game, then rename them back to @U when you're done. I should have support for the European folder structure in the next update so that you no longer have to do this.
  2. Sorry, things clearly got a little out of hand. I don't intend to break any rules with regards to ROMs, and I will not allow anything that could violate those rules to develop in this thread in the future.
  3. If it's in CIA format you can install it on your 3DS using FBI. If it's not, you'll need to find something to convert your format to CIA.
  4. For NTR to work, both the region and game version have to match up with the region and game version the plugin is looking for. So if you want to play on the European Special Edition, you have to use the plugin for that version and run that specific version of Fates on your 3DS. If your installed version of Fates isn't the European Special Edition, NTR won't run because it thinks you're playing a different game. If that's the case, you'll need to take your copy of the special edition, install it through FBI, and run that version of the game (after running NTR first, of course).
  5. I don't plan on making a video tutorial, though if I see a good one I'll add it to the main post. So you ran NTR and then started Fates. Did your screen flash green when Fates started up? If not, then the plugin didn't start up correctly. If that's the case, make sure that you're running the correct version of Fates for your plugin. If the screen did flash green at startup then, you might not have the folders in the correct place inside the plugin folder.
  6. For anyone who encountered a freeze or an instance where the randomizer stopped around 10%, I just put out a hot fix that should fix the issue. I updated the main post with the patched version, so give that one a try and see how things go.
  7. Yes, it's the only version you can dump from your copy of the game. If you have custom firmware installed, you may be able to modify DLC as well, but the process is a lot more complicated. The only other options is to find a copy of the special edition.
  8. Glad that it worked out at the end. Sorry about the issues setting everything up.
  9. You can leave the A. A/B/C refers to the path, so A is for Birthright, B is for Conquest, and C is for Revelation.
  10. You could play it through an emulator like Citra but I couldn't really walk you through how to do it. The problem shouldn't be with your dump, but you might have the files organized incorrectly. For the European version the files in the "m" folder might be organized under m/@U and m/C/@U rather m/@E and m/C/@E. In that case, you will need to change them to use @E for randomizing and then change them back to @U to run in game. At least, that's what I've heard you need to do for the European version from others. If you're having any other issues with file verification I'll need to see what your storage folder looks like to spot the issue. That's all I needed actually! I'll see what I can do about the error and release a fix when I can.
  11. Could I see the full error log if possible? Unfortunately with this version of Java the bunch of lines includes the real error information. If I get that I should be able to fix the error pretty quickly.
  12. Scripts don't have any sort of compression, so nothing should happen to them.
  13. You could try updating Java if you're not on the latest version, but I don't think that would cause any issues in this case. I'll look into the issue, but I'm not even sure how to reproduce the bug to be honest. I've never had the freeze or stop at that point during testing. When you ran the program from the command line, did any sort of error message pop up after the bar moved to 10%?
  14. If it's stuck after that long, something definitely went wrong. If you're using the same-sex expansion patch, try randomizing without its files. A couple of people ran into similar issues when using it.
  15. And what's located inside the archive?
  16. What format is your ROM in? You need to get a romfs for your game and then extract the ROM files from it. Then you can follow the guide to randomize your game.
  17. Do you have the correct homebrew payload for your 3DS on the root of your SD card? If you don't have the correct one, then the 3DS will just crash instead of proceeding to the homebrew launcher. Sorry, I missed this originally. Thank you so much for the video! I'm glad to see that you're enjoying the randomizer - it's nice knowing that other people are getting some fun out of it after all of the work I've put into it.
  18. At which point? The randomizer isn't perfect right now, so you might crash at certain points in game. You can follow the troubleshooting section to help progress through any sections with crashes until the issues with the tool are worked out. Are the crashes occurring in game, or when trying to set up homebrew?
  19. I'm actually not sure either - the romfs should be significantly larger than 149 KiB. You could try using a more recent version of braindump, but I don't think the newer versions dump directly to romfs. Also, are you trying to go back to the homebrew menu from HANS, or go in game?
  20. So your romfs is named 00179500.romfs and its location on the sd is sd:/hans/00179500.romfs?
  21. As a quick note for anybody using the randomizer, there appears to be some instability with a couple chapters on specific routes right now. Here's what I've heard from users so far: The transition from the cutscene to the map during Chapter 2 on a randomized Conquest save causes a crash. You can avoid this by skipping the cutscene. Chapter 4 also crashes when transitioning from the intro cutscene to the map on Birthright and Revelation saves. Skipping won't help with this one, but you should be able to fix the issue by deleting/replacing every file that starts with "A004" in your randomized bev folder. This will not affect recruitment or gameplay in any way, but models will not be swapped during cutscenes for the chapter. A similar crash occurs at the end of Revelation Chapter 10 when Leo's replacement appears. Once again, you should be able to prevent the crash by deleting or replacing every file that starts with "C010" in the bev folder. I apologize for the issues. I'll try to get a fix out for them when I can.
  22. It's been attempted before, but it's not as easy as it sounds unfortunately. Awakening stores it's models and textures in CGFX format while Fates uses the newer BCH format. As far as I know, there's no existing way to convert between CGFX and BCH without losing crucial components like texture mapping and skeletons for animations. I actually was able to port the mage model from Awakening to Fates, but due to the issues with conversion I could never get textures or animations to work with it. That said, porting Awakening models to Fates might be possible once Ohana finishes implementing its export to CMDL feature, as that's the intermediate file format when creating BCH files. You can import Awakening's portraits into Fates though! I don't have a link at the moment, but I remember DeathChaos importing Morgan's portraits into Fates a little while back.
  23. The Fire Emblem Fates Randomizer has undergone a complete rewrite. The new randomizer, Ignis, offers more features and a more stable playthrough (less troubleshooting!). Additionally, the setup with Ignis is simpler - give it an extracted RomFS and somewhere to put the outputs and it will handle the rest. No digging through the RomFS or running files through FEAT. Randomizer features: Randomized classes, skills, and stats. This includes weapon rank adjustments so everyone's viable in their new classes. Randomized join order. Characters can swap places in the story with proper adjustments to dialogue, 3D cutscenes, etc. Randomized chest/village items. Experimental player randomization. Lots of misc. extras + fixes to help with randomized playthroughs. Add Anna to castle recruitment, unlock hero battles, a generic sprite for Songstress, etc. For more details + instructions, check the readme on GitHub: https://github.com/thane98/ignis Releases (download the *.7z file, NOT the source code): https://github.com/thane98/ignis/releases Direct download link (Beta 2): https://github.com/thane98/ignis/releases/download/beta-2/Ignis-Beta-2-Windows.7z
  24. This is on the same 3DS that you have CFW on, right? If that's the case, then it's easier to use NTR and the plugin from the same-sex patch. Once you set that up, you just run NTR whenever you start your 3DS and then run Fates. You can get NTR here and the plugin from the same-sex patch here.
