  1. It's strange that this game hasn't gotten much. I guess the excuse is that a majority of the game's beast units come from here. It would be funny that when they get around to giving this game another banner characters like Meg and Fiona are actually competent. I guess Meg can just be some Save Fodder and Fiona another Lance Cavalier with some non-seasonal seasonal weapon.

  2. This banner is a skip for me. I went ahead and summoned on the Fallen Banner, because I was holding of in case something was enticing to me here.

Roy seems interesting that he should in theory bust through Dragon Near Savers, but I'm skeptical of his survivability without Dodge or higher Res. I guess outside of Rhea there aren't many of those types of Near Savers with instant Specials, even Fallen Edelgard is shutdown because of the Tempo he has.

With Summoner Duels S coming up I guess people can have one team with Legendary Lilina and another with Bridal Lilina. It just reminds me of the powercreep and duplication of already busted units, which makes the game mode unbearable to someone who isn't dedicating their account to that type of thing.

  3. The silhouettes do look like Larum and Sophia. Those two are support options for Roy, so I've seen people mention Sue, Cecilia, and of course Lilina could be cohorts on this banner. So I'm wondering who the Harmonized pair would be? They could do Roy and Eliwood.

  4. Wow so this confirms that all in house characters will be playable, that's neat. I was mostly concerned about as limited cast because of class changing being a thing, but you can still use your favorites in whatever class. I'm really digging the new designs, except Ingrid's lol. I don't know her hair is too out there for me, it almost makes her look older than her timeskip design.

The Annette and Felix ship really sails itself it seems. The musical notes around Annette as she attacks is a cool detail. I know that other characters like Dimitri having Lightning effects is a thing, but I didn't notice much else with anyone here.

Now I need the Gold Deer to come next, since Black Eagles wasn't the default first choice. I wonder if Marianne will just be a Bishop or they'll make a Mage Knight.

  5. Some of you are saying Myhrr? I don't know who else would fill the blue color so she seems plausible. Who knows maybe this is will be a dragon month with 3 fallen dragons and a legendary dragon at the end.

There's are a bunch of other blue Legendary/Mythic dragons so maybe a Blue Myhrr would be saturating. My other random guess would be Seteth, but there will be Three Houses spam next month so we'll see.

Female units on Summer banners are the most guilty example, with them only using one of 3 different body types (Average like Tana and Linde, children like Young Tiki and Ylgr or others that purely rely on tits and/or ass like Camilla, Selena (Sacred Stones), and Dorothea), and not having much variety in what they wear.

I'm curious what alternatives would you propose? In terms of the females I don't think there's much more in terms of body type variety. There's Meg from Tellius and that capture unit from Fates who are round. At the end of the day they're selling cute and generally attractive characters, mostly females of course. Not to mention the characters need a decent amount of popularity or relation to a popular character.

The cultural banners like the desert themed banners they've done for the last 2 years and the performing arts ones that they do before CYL allow for some variety I feel. It's easy for them to tell the different artists to draw the characters in recognizable themes, like Bunnies and Christmas. I don't know what kinds of cohesive themes they could do to add more variety, and it's not really in their interest if what's being done is already working and sells well. They did that hot springs banner which didn't hold, but there are others like the Children's banner, Pirates, and Ninjas. In a way it's nice that some characters are guaranteed at least one alt among the lords and other popular characters, like Michalis likely getting a bunny alt, and Rebecca if they add Dart on a Pirate banner.

Of course everybody only cares about their favorites, so there's the boredom I guess. For most characters it makes sense to me why there's little variety in their alts, since even though they're alts there needs to be some lore or thematic reason why that unit is their unit or weapon type. I see Marth used as an example, but what else are they going to give Marth? He's gotten an axe and bow before, but any serious Marth alt is probably wielding the Falchion. At least Chrom has Archer and Cavalier as other class options, so they've been going with that. Then with Corrins, there aren't that many dragon units in general, and they could have milked the different Yatos I guess but it's clear that's not a goal that they have.

Personally I'm not really bothered, but I do see the complaints. It's a mix of giving multiple alts to characters that don't thematically have much variety, and not giving alts to other non lords and co. characters. Sometimes the variety for that one unit comes at the cost of another, like Eirika being a tome unit, where apparently there were other candidates. Even for CYL, if it's a lord character I'm not expecting anything crazy. The shining example of this were the 3 houses lords. It seemed like most people were expecting them to be in their final classes, but what other weapons would they use? The same thing with Marth and more that likely Chrom this year. At least Chrom and Seliph winning means that they can't both be sword units.

At the end of the day this is type of game is trying to make money and to do that they need to milk popular characters. And unless a seasonal theme flops, it's in their interest to use what works. Too much complication with themes won't work either since a lot of the art work is out sourced and the characters still need to have their identities

Which still leaves the question of Freyr.

If they don't introduce a new OC soon, maybe he could be on the Midpoint banner. It would be pretty random, but we'll see in the next story chapter how that's going.

We won't know that until the update comes. That's never been stated in banner trailers or news updates.

Right, I checked the banner notification to double check, but that info comes later.

  8. Lilith looks the most interesting out of the batch to me. That teleport is pretty crazy. Still no Res based near trace or even Atk/Spd Near Trace.

The tier 4 smokes having different effects is interesting. I'm guessing the Def and Res variants will grant the user Domination.

Gustav was kind of out of no where. Fafnir seemed like he would fit the Dragon theme going on, but I guess they need to save him as the powercreep colorless Dragon/Beast for next year.

I'm low on orbs, and the Bridals are later this month, so hopefully Muarim is solid unlike a certain someone from last year.

The Immaculate One looks like they wanted to make a really strong unit again, but didn't want the kind of backlash Hegemon Husk got.

Speaking of, it looks like they didn't ban her as a random enemy. I guess she isn't so bad since there's no Distant Counter, or Raging Storm.

  9. I'm looking at Thea, I have a bit of history with the 4 star one that's in my Reserves currently. If Icy Maltet is good I wouldn't mind investing into her, another thing is that I can't justify investing into base Catria so Thea might have to do. I see people mentioning how good Quick Mulagir is compared the Swift Mulagir, but remember that Sue is a 5 star and Thea isn't. I'm definitely not expecting something on refined Maltet's level, but close is still good.

Definitely see Icy Maltet being similar to the Base version it’s on a proper wielder for crying out loud with like Quick Mulagir is to Swift Mulagir with something to stand out hopefully keeps the Null weakness but for flyers.

Idunn needs to nullify armor weakness I’ve been wanting this for a LONG time I see this as very likely. GFU would also nice so I can run other skills on her!

Null Flier weakness and Guard Bearing would be solid for the defensive side of Icy Maltet. I can see Idunn getting Null Armor weakness since her Ascended has it and her Duo has that as a Duo skill.

@GuiltyLove What do you think about honorary Catria getting a refine?

I'm also interested in Garnef, because of potential meme teams with Kronya and Fallen Takumi. Using multiple Fallen Takumi's is too much for me so having a different unit would be nice. If he gets random Deep Wounds that would be cool.

The Saint Statues are not additive with their bonuses right? So for instance, when you upgrade from Faith +1 to Faith +2, that's a total bonus of 2 points rather than 3, correct?

I feel like they are additive, but I can't confirm that anytime soon.

When dismounted in a mounted class, do you earn riding/flying experience still? Or do you need to remain mounted to earn those extra points from battle?

You should need to be mounted to gain the respective ranks, that would make sense.

I'm looking for the battalion Seiros Brawlers. I can see it in the Battalion guild of both NG files I have left on my system (which are Verdant Wind and Silver Snow routes). Can anybody confirm this battalion is available at any point on the Blue Lions route as well? Remember I'm asking about a NG save, not NG+. And even better do you know when it is made available? According to this list it ought to appear starting in Chapter 3, but I can confirm it's not there in practice. At least, not on Blue Lions. In my own notes, I wrote down that the shops have updated inventory in Chapter 8, maybe that's when it appears? Or even post-timeskip.

Again I can't confirm, but with that being an E rank battalion, I don't see why it wouldn't be available from the start. Maybe the Blue Lions is weird for some reason.

Around the time I stopped playing, I saw some interesting writeups about how the Greenhouse can spit out higher quality seeds. If anybody has such a post bookmarked, I'd like to take a look. Most guides I'm looking at just explain how the onscreen Yield rating doesn't tell you a whole lot, and how to optimally save scum for stat boosters. But I'm most interested in how gardening can be used to squeeze more professor experience early game, and for that you need a steady supply of high grade seeds.

The main site has a section that explains the calculation. I probably should have kept active record of stuff like this since I've had so many playthroughs, oh well.

Do Dining Hall events (doubled support gains with certain units), apply to both Today's Special and Share a Meal options?

Yes it applies to both, the characters that get a boost will have an indicator for both options. There's something that I can actually answer.

My Micaiah is only +1, so merges will be appreciated. Elimine is +10, but I don't have a +Res copy of her yet, so it would be nice if I could get one. Not sure how many pulls I'll try for on this banner.

Of the other colors, green is pretty good for me since I still need merges for Hel (and Otr, I guess), and Thorr has Flow Guard, which is decent fodder. Blue only has Idunn that interests me, and red has nothing I need.

I have pretty much the same thoughts for the summons, although it's more that I don't have most of the units. My CYL Marianne is +10 so I'm free to start summoning again.

So Medeus is here as an anti to a bunch of stuff, like how Elimine is in her season in a way. It was a gamble whether people would have their Bolt Tower in lane 3 or 4, and even then putting the catapult in a meaningful spot can hurt your team comp unless you were running a cav line, but those team aren't as week to bolt tower as other comps. And he blocks the savage blow spam strat that people sometimes do.

I knew they were going to powercreep Makoto soon enough, but I didn't think it would be a whole inheritable skill. It's going to suck not being able to use NY!Fafnir as freely. The obnoxious thing are those high threat range teams that you want some turn-one, safety fence initiative against.

  12. CYL 1-4 free summons didn't get me anything. Even though I don't plan on heavy investing into Edelgard, getting a +1 merge would be nice after all of these free pulls on green...

For the main focus I was able to get the last 8 Mariannes that I needed, and random Niime for a tank build is welcome. Normally I would HM farm a unit before foddering them, but I'm pretty lazy with that honestly and Pawns of Loki running now kind of encourages me to do it sooner than later. I got 13 5 stars in ~550 orbs so not bad.

I just read that you need to be solo for the Vulture tome to work lol.

MY problem, which you seem to be failing to grasp, is that if the user of the battalion took any damage after that point, it won't be at exactly 1/3 endurance. And you cannot replenish battalion endurance without needing to weaken it again, which means you'd likely need to swap battalions.

I'm just jumping in here, but why does it matter if the durability is at exactly 1/3? The durability as long as it's above 0 doesn't matter if you don't get hit. The point of a dodge tank is to not get hit, which when you max out the unit's evade shouldn't happen. Of course min-maxing evade like that early in the game probably isn't happening.

I saw mention of this "win-more" concept. If the game's being played in Maddening you need the power to one round enemies, even in Hard. You need to one round with your dodge tank if you want to clear maps relatively quick, not LTC per se, but not to much more than 10 turns. Of course bait and switch is a thing, and it's fine, but that objectively takes longer than just straight killing the enemies when they engage.

Personally If I'm doing some Wrath/Vantage or Wrath/Dodge build it's for specific maps where it's easy to just not replenish that unit's battalion for a few maps and then they're good to go when the time comes. Again with a proper dodge tank you shouldn't be getting hit, of course RNG can screw you even with 90% avoid, but divine pulse exists. Then with Battalion Desperation for example, you still aren't depleting durability after player pahse nuking something and canto'ing out.

RIP Scáthach, he didn't get Imperial Astra despite having Od blood and being Ayra's son.

Don't the Geneology kids take more from their same gendered parent? So I guess that's why Larcei gets the good stuff, and he gets to be slow and bulky like Lex I guess. It's throwing me off since he seemed like an obvious godsword candidate.

  15. It's funny that I recognized Ishtar's artist as the one that did Duo Hilda, and FE4 Hilda is the GHB. Also they did Scáthach dirty by not giving him Imperial Astra lol, and judging from the fact that he doesn't double the generic Axe Fighter his speed must be mediocre.

  16. I had a good investment in Legault. He was able to do solid damage to Edelgard because of the Def/Res opening on that Armor Knight. Taking out said Armor Knight dragged on a few turns since I had to use Rally + Ruse instead of NFU on him so that he could help my Brave Lyn one round the Sword Cav at the start. Thankfully I was able to be lazy with L!Lyn and she was serviceable with just remix skills but no refine.
