  1. I will say VC4 is the best game of the series gameplaywise. The Story is also decent. What I really don't like is the characters (or rather one) and the dialogue. The dialogue is just really awkward and too sexualized at times for me. For anyone wanting to get into Valkyria Chronicles I'd still recommend the first game, it may be an oldie but it's an goldie. It would also provide a lot of insight to understand VC4, though not required. I also heard about this series from the project x zone games and was the reason I got into several of my favorite series, and Valkyria Chronicles is definitely one of them.

  2. Best Cast: While I do enjoy many games casts, honestly Tellius in general rules. The exception is the Dawn Brigade and a few related units, but basically everyone else is amazing. I also kinda like how small sacred stones and echoes cast is since it brings the focus more on a few characters.

Worse Cast: As much as I love Awakening, it does have some characters that are meh. Miriel and Ricken being the biggest offenders. But it does also have some highlights, Cordelia and Severa, Lucina, Morgan, and several others. I also want to say Fates while generally bad some characters are good, Oboro, Charlotte, KAgero, Effie, Hana, and a few others. Shadow Dragon is also here due to lack of characterization. Designwise some of them are great Like Midia or Astram or Caeda but most of them don't have much character besides Marth, Caeda, Minerva, Navarre, Ogma, and maybe Merric. New Mystery makes this slightly better but not by much.

  3. 1. Smash 4

    2. Have yet to play 64 or ultimate yet

    3. Smash 4

    4. In 4 Link was my main so I guess him, but otherwise it was Marth in Brawl and Melee

    5. in smash 4 I hate Duck Hunt and Villager so much.

    6. Give me Gaur plains from smash 4 any day. Other than that no other favorites

    7. Likewise I don't think I hate any stage

    8. Favorite Music, oh gods, I guess every Xenoblade track in smash and then some Fire Emblem music

    9. I think normal smash is the best, but I'll go with the for glory style

    10. Lyn

    11. I'M REALLY FEELING IT I guess Marth's side taunt in 4

    12. Mostly solo now, used to play a lot with friends before we burned ourselves out on it

    13. Stock

    14. I prefer omega stage, no items, and 3 stock, but I'm down for any mode really

    15. Sometimes

    16. 9.0 Classic in smash 4, I don't even think I've beaten it, and if I have it was with a maxed out defense custom bowser

    17. Yes but I used to be more hyped

    18. I guess world of light. While good the roster additions didn't really mean anything to me so not having anyone you wanted added to the game is sad, especially when they're mii outfits or spirits

    19. Between Chrom and Simon

    20. I guess Snake because that was unexpected

    21. Shulk or Roy

22.They're fine, and make sense and don't take roster slots

    23. Kosmos, Rex and Pyra, Elma, and then the rest are spirits or assists

    24. Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Mega Man, Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Xenoblade, Kirby, and by extension Fire Emblem and Xenoblade got me into God Eater and Valkyria Chronicles. Two of my favorite series

    25. Yes though a bad one

    26. For Sakurai yes, Nintendo no

    27. Only among friends

    28. Playing on final destination, in 4 I can decently play everyone, but as for physically going under it no clue

    29.None, don't use them

    30. Hype drives this

  4. So this was a moment between an old friend of mine (Sadly we never see each other anymore) but before Fates came out, we both had Awakening. HE had it longer but I has gotten through the game quicker and had higher stats. Anyways we decided to do the co-op mode. My units carried us until we did a very hard one. My units were basically tanking heavy blows so we could live. Eventually it all came down to his avatar landing a 19% hit and it hit.

    4. As a general rule, I don't favorite piles of frustration, but for the question, by process of elimination it's probably Brave Frontier 2 (Or Brave Exvius, but that's Stockholm, see?)
    5. I don't count the hours, that's probably not a good sign...

My FFBE answer has too much jargon for people who don't play it and no screenshot, but know that it was godlike
    11. Just do what Brave Frontier 2 does and don't have them at all for premium units. You see a unit you want, just get them, easy.
    12. Primarily get them done ASAP and forget the game exists, otherwise just lazily do it
    13. Nothing worth mentioning
    14. .....If you've heard anything about Brave Frontier 1......
    15.
    FEH: idk
FFBE: "So about that Blue Magic you guys said was coming last year..."
BF2: "Alternate ways to get skills so we don't have to stare cancerous bosses in the face to try to possibly get a skill from it"

    16.
FEH: So that new thing they did with Arena? The one that gets more points for killing with a bonus character? Kill that with fire. Kill Boons/Banes with fire too
FFBE: Not a mechanic, but perishable summon tickets? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?
BF2: Drop the "probable, randomly acquired skill" bit from Skill Rise, and let us pick the skill we want. We have to suffer enough as is to Break a damn enemy anyway

    17. Mechanics from FFBE? No, but I would be a happy man if a future FF had a cameo of, or even paid homage to Rain and/or preferably Lasswell from Brave Exvius
    18. No
    19. Absolutely not
    20. "But why though." alternatively "Bad game design" the latter being almost entirely exclusive to FFBE

Are we not counting Cross Omega, or do you really not know about that

I did not know about cross omega, I'm honestly a mild fan of the series, mostly with the endless frontier games but would love to get into it, at least the og games. I'll check out cross omega though if it has srw characters.

  6. So who do I think, well

Rex/Pyra and or Mythra, Sakurai including the costume and saying he wishes he would be in the game has me hoping they are dlc

Banjo and Kazooie: So while the grinch leak may have been fake, perhaps this is still possible, since while not confirmed, there was one youtuber who had a source he trusted who had a source they trusted that worked at microsoft and said banjo was in.

Sora: Honestly I doubt Geno will get in anymore and that basically leaves Sora as the next square enix rep.

Maybe Hades or another Kid Icarus character, while busy with smash Sakurai could maybe maybe very unlikely be overseeing a new kid icarus game, at least possibly now that the most of the work is done for smash ultimate

Bandana Waddle Dee: Piranha plant getting in proves one thing, grunt like characters can get in smash, and this would be the perfect way to add a new Kirby rep because Sakurai bias.

Now who do I want, well

Rex and Pyra/Mythra, obviously since I'm a xenoblade 2 fan.

Elma: To represent Xenoblade X and maybe X2 if they ever do that

KOS-MOS: While from Xenosaga, her appearance in XC2 and potential something may be happening with her series still has me hopeful despite how unlikely it is for her

Impa or Lana: Basically a new Zelda rep. Either could work if they go with Hyrule Warriors designs, Lana I think would be more unique but Impa is the next most reoccurring character in the Zelda series after the main trio.

I'll go with more of a wildcard and say Yu Narukami from Persona 4. Since we know Tsubasa from TMS is in smash as a spirit that does bring the chance of Atlus allowing another character with Sega's permission, and Yu is decently popular within the persona fandom and has been in 3 games on nintendo consoles, one of which a fighting game. This is like another Bayonetta situation where some things about Yu made need to be changed but I still feel like maybe he'd fit.

    1. When you did you start to play your first gacha? When FEH came out
    2. Which game was your first gacha? FEH
    3. How many gachas have you played / started yet? Including FGO and two others I didn't like 6
    4. What's your favorite gacha? Fire Emblem Heroes
    5. How many hours do you play gachas per day in average? Depends on free time or if an events going on but at least 40 minutes a day is safe
    6. Have you spent money in gachas yet? Several times though not in a while
    7. If you did spend it, was it a good pay off? I'd say $70 USD on orbs and no Bridal Cordelia is a no. But every other time I did get a 5 star in heroes with the $20 orbs
    8. What's your opinon about the the price for summoning material (orbs, quartz etc...)? For most games the cost should be related to material obtainment, so FGO with like 0 quartz at the start is a no. What heroes does with banner orbs is fine, but I'd personally like a standard 2 orb a day login bonus.
    9. How would you consider your general luck in summonings? When I started heroes I pulled hardly any five stars, and when I started to spend some money it wasn't any better. But nowadays as ftp focused I get good drops. I don't know how but my orb yoloing and refusal to save up orbs unless for something specific has worked for me well.
    10. What has been your best summoning / summoning session personally for you yet? For me when I pulled two five stars in the same summoning round, though they were units I had, but otherwise getting Amelia as a free sumon when she wasn't even a focus unit.
    11. What's your opinion of the droprates in general? I always say droprates should be higher but as long as we get enough currency to summon constantly it isn't a problem.
    12. Do you try to beat as many of these daily quests everyday, or do you rather only focus on quests with less time pressure? I prioritize quests that give me summoning currency and otherwise only go after say light blessings in heroes.
    13. What do you like about gachas the most? The randomness. Not knowing who'll you get is sometimes fun.
    14. What do you dislike about gachas the most? Limited time banners with exclusive units. I'm fine with units having temporary higher drop rates but keeping them or seasonal alts limited to that one event is annoying. I'm a collector and would like the chance to constantly get new units.
    15. Any mechanics you would like to see introduced in the future? For FEH I'd like a unit shop, where we directly exchange an amount of orbs for a five star or out of season five star.
    16. Any mechanics you would like to see dropped in the future? I really don't like accessories. They don't add anything for me and feel like a replacement reward when more orbs would be better.
    17. Any mechanics you would like to see transferred in the real series (like certain mechanics from Heroes in a future FE part)? More unique classes, armor mages, armor dragons, bow armor, dagger fliers, all interesting concepts I'd love to see expanded on.
    18. Do you think gachas could endanger the videogame industry for being free? No. Most gamers can tell the difference between a gacha and a real video game. The EA Battlefront 2 controversy over lootboxes shows gamers aren't going to accept low quality in AAA games. So as long as game developers keep making games worth playing and buying then I don't see gachas taking over.
    19. Any TV / videogame series you would like to see as a gacha? An odd choice but perhaps a Super Robot Wars gacha. It'd be nice to see that series get more love.
    20. How you would describe your experience with gachas in three words? DON'T SPEND MONEY!!
  7. So I'd like to throw in my opinion here. I started with awakening and I will say it's my personal favorite of the series. Fates was something I was incredibly excited for during the buildup. I was part of the Nowinstock tracker community that sprang up and even to this day am still part of two of the communities that split from that initial tracker. Anyways I was severely disappointed with Fates. I did manage to get through all three routes but I'm guessing I got burned out of fire emblem for a while. Anyways Nintendo switch happened blahblahblah Fire Emblem Warriors and Heroes happened (still play heroes daily though, every day since launch) and then Echoes. I really really enjoyed Echoes. Maybe it was the contrast of the past games that made me like it more than fates, but I have a theory if you'll bear with me. The reason I like Awakening and Echoes better than Fates is due to one thing. Heart. By that I mean the heart of the developers and the game itself. Let me explain. Awakening was originally intended to be the last of the series when it was being produced. The developers knew that and tried to incorporate as many elements from past games into this one as a final sendoff to the series. Well low and behold it paid off and was a smash hit. Next we have Fates. A game that was very much hyped up by everyone. However, the reasons I personally don't like Fates is that it's heart was wrong. By that I mean it tried to copy Awakening's success while still doing changes so it wouldn't get backlash over repeating content. Additionally I do feel that treehouse altering dialogue while mostly for appropriateness, I still feel that at that point they're just trying to make the game as accessible as possible so they get more sales. I fully understand that, but combined with near rehash of awakening but edited to make it seem different just made me feel they were just going after money. Disagree if you want that's just my opinion. Anyways, onto Echoes. So Echoes has less features than the previous two games, like a lot less. But I still find it enjoyable. The reason I think so is Echoes heart was set on being the best Gaiden remake it could possibly be. It took itself and the source material seriously and while had to make some changes, they felt like they fit and added to the experience for me. Echoes never tried to be anything else but itself, a great remake of Gaiden.

So as long as Three houses or any future game have heart I'll play them. Nah I'm kidding just make every fire emblem game exactly like radiant dawn that game was fun to play. Don't take this part seriously. Though the soldier line definitely needs more love.

Yep, I've been planning to do it since I first heard about VC4.  I hope you'll stick around through it all.  I may start out awkward, but I swear I get better as time goes on.  Just like with my VC1 LP.

Those things don't really strike me as spoilerific.  They're very vague in that they don't really reveal any plot details.  At most, the DLC bit might be considered spoilery.

I've heard about how none of the original VC1 actors returned and some of the characters apparently sounded fairly different as a result.  I'm not gonna be able to find anything out about that DLC until December, as the PC version didn't get early access to it, but I know I'm gonna get it, if only so that I can make Team Darcsen come full circle and bring this lovely lady:

    GPZnPK3.png

    back into the fray.

And speaking of, I'll get the other DLC as well.  I already have Captainless Squad, so besides that and the Squad 7 DLC I'll just need the beach one and the one with Selvaria.  And maybe the Expert Skirmishes.

Anyway, I've finished recording part 15; it'll get uploaded sometime later in the evening.  It's not too terribly long.

Well I put them in spoilers more or less to save space but also for anyone who wants to go in blind (which why are they here but whatever lol) Wait is there more dlc besides the squad 7 dlc? I was not aware of that. Well I'll get them eventually. Anyways for Isara, you have to A rank both maps. First one shouldn't be hard if you have elite troops, but the second one may be hard due to small unit numbers and turn counts. After that you unlock a third map for Isara's unlock. Good luck with the lp. Whenever I get some free time between college classes and family life I'll try to watch them.

  9. Oh wow. Didn't know you were playing VC4 and recording and uploading it. I'll have to check those out later on. As for my progress I'm going on chapter 14 in the game, no casualties yet but I will say it's been an experience. Some of my thoughts I'll leave in spoilers with titles.

SPOILERS FOR SOME PARTS OF VC4 UP TO CHAPTER 14 AND VC1 AND THE VC4 DLC

    Characters/Dialogue

    Spoiler

So in general I find the cast of vc4 to be good. Basically everyone of the main cast is good with exception for Raz. I hated him so much. He is a hot headed idiot and his perviness at times really irks me the wrong way. Especially since this is the most vulgarity I've seen in the series and nearly all of it is from him. I also feel his presence at times influences the others to make casual pervy comments as well. That brings me to the dialogue. Besides vulgarity the pervy and sexually undertoned dialogue is just god awful. And as previously stated most of it is from Raz and directed at him by other characters.

As for the non main characters, some of them are good. I have the ones I use, but I do like how they are included in regular story cutscenes in the background and in flashback reports.

    Gameplay

    Spoiler

In general I think this game has the best gameplay in the series, maybe second only to valkyria chronicles 3. The grenadier class is so fun to use tactically. Class improvements were to be as expected but Snipers getting interception fire capabilities when becoming elites is so good. The apc from the psp games is nice to use though I only really used on 1 or 2 levels. Also the slight alteration for sneak attacks and flanks is very good, though a bit broken. The last stand mechanic has rarely occurred for me but sometimes helps, most of the time doesn't cause my units only fall due to blatant rng, unfair mechanics, or bosses.  In contrast the lead mechanic is useful though I wish it could be used more than once a turn just due to unit counts and mobility. This game also from what I've experienced is a lot harder on you first time through, ambush spawns are nothing, mechanics have changed such as anti-tank cannons being able to intercept fire armor, the knockback from grenadiers makes it impossible to challenge at range, and even some naming errors. My main example is that the mortars cannons in one chapter are actually anti-tank cannons and can oneshot the hafen due to that lack of knowledge. Another complaint I have is mortars and lancers, they are able to damage boss thanks and fire support locations like mortar cannons and such, but are unable to damage them past a specific point or only ko them in specific ways, usually being anti-tank mortars, which while a unique concept I find generally less useful than standard infantry mortars since infantry are more common. While not 100% sure how the game runs based on my experiences between the ps4 version of VC1 and Switch version of VC4, it plays better on ps4 but works well on switch when docked and using either a pro controller or wired controller. The controls feel a lot more responsive with those than the joycons.

I want to also say the variety of scenarios the game puts you through is great. Having different combat scenarios and little map mechanics are great. Though one scenario I hate, and thats the fight against squad F over food, which I feel was just poorly done filler.

    DLC

    Spoiler

So I got the special edition of the game, primarily for the dlc being honest. I am sadly disappointed. I do not know the circumstances of the voice actors from the original game not being able to voice this game or even if they are the same voice actors. All I do know is they all sound completely Different. Welkin sounds nothing like himself, Alicia sounds different when you remember the voicelines, Rosie is a few noticable pitches higher than what she was, Largo sounds more like Hector, Isara surprisingly sounds mostly the same but due to previous statements I find it unlikely her voice actor came back due to her personal reasons. Edy also sounds different and that is disappointing to me as a Edy fan. Anyways as for the story of the dlc, well it's the same situation vc3 had when it brought squad 7 into the story briefly, it was just a shameless cameo, back then I defended 3's cameo as we were most likely seeing the reports of what happened in VC1 brought to records by our stalker reporter, and in VC3 it made sense it wasn't recorded due to the nameless being unrecorded parts of history. But in 4's cameo it felt like they were pushing down squad 7 some to push squad E up, while that never was said and they worked together, it just felt like they were trying to push squad E harder by supposedly giving them the approval of squad 7 which I personally feel lowers the valued traits of squad 7. Though only in this instance since the legacy they built in VC1 is addressed here and is something I do fondly remember.

All in all, so far (and partly due to a lack of competition really) Valkyria Chronicles 4 would be my game of the year, but I am counting Torna the Golden Coutnry as a separate game and giving my game of the year to it, at least for games that came out in 2018. As for my overall game of the year, without a doubt that goes to Radiant Dawn, since I finally got nad played through it and I will say it's one of the best fire emblems, it did make me rage at times but overall a great experience, especially with Nephenee becoming a literal god, She capped every stat except magic with no stat boosters.

Sounds like you have at least a few dozen interesting stories there.  The most interesting thing I remember happening was when a camp counselor accidentally sprayed a group of us middle schoolers with pepper spray during a lecture on how to deal with dangerous wildlife.  Like, she wasn't even facing us with the spray, and they thought it was sealed... then she did a little spray on accident, and the wind blew all the particles in all our faces.  Was actually dozing off until I got blasted with the stuff.

It was the worst day I've ever had camping, and we had frickin' cabins to sleep in; that's essentially a rich people camping trip, except the cabins weren't all that luxurious.

Yeah 3 years on camp staff and staffing other trainings and just in general camping and going to a lot of events has given me many interesting stories. Ouch, that sounds very painful. I've never specifically had a training like that but I'd imagine it'd be important. Most of the trainings I've gotten is prevention so that doesn't occurs and more or less treatment for the aftermath.

  11. As an eagle scout who does a lot of normal camping, a 3 day backpacking trip will be rough, especially if you haven't prepared for it. But it'll be a good experience I'm sure of it. Just make sure you pack lightly. I'd definitely recommend winter weather gear and probably 3 days of it if possible. Make sure you put a days worth of clothing together and roll it up, that will save space. A tent is a definite, also probably pack a tarp with it to provide a layer between the tent/you and the ground. It also makes it harder if it rains for your tent to be flooded. A heavier sleeping bag is recommended for warmth and when combined with a sleeping bad you won't get as much ground chill. Travel pillows too so your neck doesn't cramp from sleeping on the bare ground, you can also use your backpack for a makeshift pillow support. Definitely bring a water bottle, I personally use Nalgenes but any sealable bottle will work. A decent size pocket knife too if the course allows it. A mess kit too that way you can eat meals. I'd also recommend matches and a lighter just in case. A flashlight with spare batteries too. A personal first aid kit as well will be useful. Some other smaller items I'd bring is some light rope, paracord would probably be best, several caribeeners, they are just so useful, sunglasses and sunscreen if there will be snow to prevent snowburn, perhaps a deck of playing cards to pass the time at night. Hygiene items too as previously mentioned by others. I'd recommend hiking boots if you have time to break them in prior to the trip, otherwise they will be an absolute pain and it would just be better to use a comfortable but sturdy pair of sneakers, ones that can take a beating and you don't mind them taking a beating. If you're worried about material being wet for starting a fire, bring a small bag of dryer lint or even some paper, that will help get fires started.

Now more specific tips. I assume you may have a hiking backpack in specific but if not then these can also somewhat apply to a normal backpack.

Store smaller items together. So for example matches, lighter, and batteries could be put in a ziplog back and take less space.

Keep items you'll use sooner towards the top or easier access. So an example would be put your clothes at the bottom of your bag, followed by pillow(s), sleeping bag, sleeping pad, with tent on top. Mess kit, flashlight, and first aid kit definitely should be in quick access spots. WATER BOTTLE SHOULD ALWAYS BE IN REACH! Staying hydrated is very important out there. You may not want to drink cause its cold but you're more inclined to pass out or get sick so stay hydrated.

Fire building: You can look up better guides than me but basically the two methods I recommend are the log cabin and tepee fire builds. The log cabin is basically sticks stacked to make a log cabin shape while the tepee is a tepee. Now for actual tips with fires, use smaller kindling, like twigs and leaves at the center to more or less catch fire so bigger sticks can catch fire and those will catch fire to the largest sticks on the outside. I will also say be aware of how the smoke is going to flow, and obviously you don't want it in your face or near cooking areas unless that is the cooking area. Should go without saying but keep fires away from tents and don't put anything in the fire that isn't wood or fire starter. I know you're most likely mature but as a camp counselor for 3 years you would not believe how many explosions can happen when things go in fires, especially bug spray. Gods those kids making flamethrowers were annoying.

A lesser known tip. You want to sleep fully dressed to stay warm correct? Well you can sleep with your clothes for the next day (should be small if rolled up) and that will keep it warm. Alternatively if you bring a normal pillow with a pillowcase, putting the roll of clothes in the pillow case when you sleep with also make it warm, that way you don't get dressed in cold clothes.

So hopefully these help. These are what I thought of/remembered from all my camping experiences in the past 11 years, including a night where it went below freezing with me bare out on the ground trying to keep a fire alive all night. If you need any clarifications or any questions on things I don't mind answering anything.

  12. Oh boy, tough decision, but here I go.

Cordelia (favorite character in the series so biased)

Minerva (A very important character in the Marth games and deserves an alt, I mean if Catria can get one so should Minerva, especially a peg knight alt, which sadly didn't come true with my hopes of a flier summer banner of peg Minerva, Kinshi Knight Takumi, Flying Sword Alm, and Dark Flier Cordelia, though I got 2 of them predicted kinda)

Nephenee (With her stats and abilities why isn't she a main character? Anyways could introduce class skills like impale)

Severa (maybe so she'll actually get in the game)

Alm (Really got the shaft when it came to echoes alts)

Jill (A very popular character from the tellius games and surprised she isn't in yet, I don't think we've had any axe wyverns added to the game besides ghb and Gerome)

Katarina (A relatively unknown character, she's in heroes yes but not many have played her game nor has she won any voting gauntlets though she is still one of my favorite characters)

  13. Anna which it would be a different Anna, the cipher units I wouldn't mind seeing be actual playable units in the main game though that's just me hoping the cipher exclusive units were foreshadowing a game all this time. Otherwise amiibo units and maybe dlc but no more than that. Well one more exception, if the manakete girl we see in the trailer is say a young naga I'll be fine with that. But if it's Tiki unless explained well I won't buy it.

RD has the best OST imo.

Overall I would maybe say Echoes as well tied but Radiant Dawn does have so many good themes.

As for my favorite track, tough choice. But I'd narrow it down between Rise to the Challenge (moreso for the remixes of it being so good and it just being awesome), Tearing Shadows (moreso me viewing it as Katarinas theme and how sad her life was, plus the orchestral version played at the concert is god tier), id Hope being what purpose should have been and in my opinion describes most of awakening through a single piece of music, Twilight of the Gods (Honestly one of the best final map themes and I feel like it near perfectly could be used to show the entirity of echoes ost), and Heritors of Arcadia (for providing a leagcy sort of way for the entirity of echoes lore, given it's sang by Silques VA so I and several others think of it as a song she wrote after the war about Mila)

As for an unnofficial track, More Than Just Comrades, it is such a nice medley mix of several tracks and sums up fire emblem recruitment themes.

  15. Magic negates terrain so its all base hits.

Every character has a magic list (and I mean everyone minus Alm) and can learn certain spells.

If you're playing through this for fun then don't worry about level ups, but if you do want to have a highly powerful postgame team then put all the male villagers and mercenaries through the mercenary line at least once for more levelups and the levelup loop since the mercenary tier 3 promotes back into villager.

There is no weapon triangle only weapon stats, and not all bows are effective against fliers so item descriptions help in some cases.

Besides that I can't think of anything else the game wouldn't tell you so enjoy. Echoes is among my top 3 fire emblems so I hope tat shows how good it can be.

I'm actually shocked that I wasn't raked over the coals for Xenoblade. As much praise as it gets on these forums in particular, I thought that it was pretty much the #2 or 3 franchise on these forums.

Xenoblade  is loved a lot, but I think most of us understand it's not everyones taste and some of the complaints are valid. I myself really enjoyed 2 at least and still need to finish 1 and maybe get X if it gets a switch port.

Anyways on topic here, I despise Animal Crossing, just absolutely hate it. I wouldn't call myself a pokemon fan postgen6, but here's to hoping for either gen 8 being amazing or gen 4 remakes. Not a fan of most shooter either though I do own a few, COD would be the one I hate the most of them all. Halo I can tolerate and somehow I enjoy battlefront 2 despite how much EA makes me want to scream at their greediness and lack of content.

  17. Corrins counter in 4 didn't needed to be nerfed, okay trolly comment aside,

Fire Emblem having so many reps is fine, since it is representing a series with literal hundreds of unique characters, yet no-one bats an eye at the fact the Mario series is only missing Waluigi, Toad, and Paper Mario as reps, and they are still in the game as assists or moveset part or trophies

Not a fan of the new Link in Ultimate, and I used to main him in 4

Honestly I would love to see a lot more Nintendo characters get in from minor games if only to draw attention to those series, and by that same logic I also want many 3rd party characters depending on how iconic they are, their relation with Nintendo, and importance to video game history.

So this is a reply to the convo chain way back in june but figured I'd post here so anyone else can look. SPOILERS FOR VALKYRIA CHRONICLES ANIME AND LATE VALKYRIA CHRONICLES 1 GAME

    Spoiler

So Alicia and Selvaria were both in the same program, and Alicia was sent to an orphanage like many others since Selvaria was the most powerful Valkyrur maiden blood there, though she escaped and was rescued by Maximillian. Their battles at Naggiar and Ghirlandio have more meaning. I read the basic plot outlines of every episode today and I like how it altered some parts of the story and actually made it better in some areas. The biggest shocker to me was what they did with Faldios character but I won't spoil that.

Anyways hope your playthrough of the VC4 demo is going well and we're less than a month for 4's release. I'll probably end up getting the game the week after due to how I pre-ordered it and how it'll be shipped. For anyone still looking to pre-order it I remember seeing this but gamestop ( I know terrible place) is throwing in a official valkyria chronicles 4 hat of the shibe dog for any and all pre-orders. I hope mine comes with it since I pre-ordered way back when they first launched pre-orders but if not it's not major to me. I'm not willing to cancel and replace my order just for a hat and possibly lose my special edition.

  19. Usually I use units I like throughout the whole game and that determines my endgame team. Deployment slots affect that too. I will say the most I got into planning a team was Radiant Dawn's endgame. Since that limits the unit slots a lot for that games cast. I also was influenced by general utility along with legendary weapons. So I ended up bringing Ike, Micaiah, Sothe, Sanaki, Nephenee, Mia, Jill, Titania, Mist, Soren, Ilyana, Elincia, Gatrie, Shinon, and the required units with Leanne as my heron and the dragons. (If I had a choice the dragons and heron would have been benched and I would have brought Calil, Zihark, Geoffrey, and probably Astrid) I basically balanced out units I needed for that (tanks, mages, healers, etc) of the units I liked and also had units present to wield legendary weapons (Micaiah, Sanaki, Ilyana, and Soren for their legendary element tomes, Nephenee for wishblade, Shinon for the Double Bow, Elincia got the Alondite, even though Amiti was probably better, Mia got the Vague Katti, Sothe the Baselard, Jill got Urvan after Ike used, Ike had Ragnell, and Gatrie just had a silver greatlance)

It's an interesting theory/plot but it kind of falls apart here. First because there's nothing that really connects Edelgard with being a member of the church, but also because the country she associated with (having her colors on the map and surname as a central location) is the biggest one in Fodlan. That's actually a point i like a lot because i never played a FE game where you are not the underdog country, but the big empire-like one and it could be the basis for a very good story, specially if it's examined what they had to do to others to become so big themselves.

Like I said it's just a theory. I don't think it's said but I thought the main voice in the trailer, at least towards the end, was Edelgards and that is what I based that part of. Huh I haven't looked at the map too much but I thought her country while decently sized wasn't among the biggest, I'm probably wrong though.
